Eine kulinarische Institution, nicht nur für Werne, ich komme beispielweise aus Dortmund hierher. Volle Punktzahl gibt es,weil das Restaurant so authentisch ist,wie es nur möglich sein kann, ein Gefühl griechischer Gastlichkeit, des sich willkommen Fühlens. Des Deutschen Sinn für's Preis Leistungsverhältnis sei anbei als genehm kommentiert. Speisen soweit wie probiert sind von der Pizza bis zum Gyros tadellos gut gewürzt.

Der Griechische Gastronomiebetrieb ist von außen unscheinbar! Aber wir haben noch nie ein so leckeres Gyros bekommen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Wer Papa George kennt, weiß das es hier einfach gut schmeckt. Wer Papa George nicht kennt, aber griechischen Essen mag, sollte es so schnell wie möglich nachholen.

Das beste Gyros im Umkreis. Große Portionen und alles sehr lecker, selbst die Pommes. Service immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Positiv hervorzuheben ist zudem, dass noch nie etwas vergessen wurde. Bei größeren Bestellungen kriegt man oftmals eine kleine Flasche Wein geschenkt und jeder Gast bekommt einen Shot Uzo. Die Preise dürfen nur nicht noch teurer werden!

Typisch griechisches, kleines Lokal. Sehr nette Bedienung und das Essen ist sehr gut.

Gutes Gyros, mitunter aber lange Wartezeiten. <- meine Bewertung früher. Mittlerweile muss ich auf 5 Sterne erhöhen. Hier passt einfach alles und die Kundenorientierg sucht ihresgleichen. Einzig die kürzlichen Preiserhöhungen kann ich trotz der gegenwärtigen Marktsituation in dem Ausmaß nicht nachvollziehen: bspw Gyros Pita im März 2023 4,50, im März 2026 8€.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal mit meiner Schwimmgruppe dort und war begeistert. Der Gyros-Teller war ganz nach meinem Geschmack! Mit richtig viel Pommes, Tsatsiki und zarten Fleisch vom Spieß.

Bester Gyros weit und breit. Leider immer sehr,sehr überlaufen und teilweise Chaotisch.

Das beste Gyros das ich je gegessen habe. Aber die Geschmäcker sind ja verschieden. Tip von uns ist das Gyros Panini. Sind schon sehr lange Stammkunden da. Kenne den Laden noch als er in Werne auf dem Marktplatz war. Da gab es damals nur Pizza. Freundliches Personal und einen Ouzo gibt es auch dabei. Bestellen auch regelmäßig von der Arbeit aus. Tip: telefonisch vorbestellen, dann geht’s schneller.

Hier gibt es die beste Gyrospita ever, kostet allerdings mittlerweile 8 Euro. Ein Ouzo gibt es allerdings Gratis, auch wenn man die Sachen mitnimmt.

Hatte heute mal zur Abwechslung die Pizza Gyros Spezial. Weiß nicht ob ich jemals wieder eine andere Pizza essen kann. 5 Sterne sind noch zu wenig. Macht weiter so ihr seid super!!!

Absolut top! Der Gyros bei Papa George ist richtig stark: super saftig, perfekt gewürzt und einfach extrem lecker. Schneller, freundlicher Service und alles frisch zubereitet. Klare Empfehlung – ich komme definitiv wieder.

Papa George is a well-known institution far beyond the borders of Werne. I've been a regular at this Greek snack bar since the mid-80s. Founded as a family business, it has consistently maintained its high quality over the years. The service is always friendly and attentive. Whether you order pita to go or a gyro plate to eat in, it tastes great and is of excellent quality. The pizzas 🍕 and fries are also delicious 😋. You absolutely have to try it. The best gyros pita around. We drive all the way from Lünen to Werne just for it. The best Greek restaurant for miles around. Everything here is absolutely delicious. There are tables and chairs outside. Every guest gets a free ouzo. All the dishes are incredibly tasty. The coleslaw is amazing. Keep up the great work! 🇬🇷🇬🇷

Super nice, always my top choice after visiting the salt baths to recharge. Simply incredibly friendly and attentive, the portions are fantastic, and the value for money is excellent. And if you're nice, you get a free ouzo (I've heard it's the best ouzo around), no long waiting times, and a wonderful, family atmosphere. Papa George deserves 5 stars. One of the best Greek restaurants in the area.

The best gyro pita I've ever eaten (and I've tried a lot since I left Werne). As a child, I couldn't believe how delicious it was, and today, almost 40 years later, it still tastes just as good as it did back then.

The gyro is really spicy and very tasty. I usually have the gyro seasoned...except at Papa George's...it's simply perfect 💯! The fries are also crispy...exactly my taste! Truly delicious...I would give it more than 5 stars...but unfortunately, that's not possible. I look forward to the gyro plate every time I'm in Werne.

Papa George is an excellent Greek snack bar, also with pleasant outdoor seating in the tranquil center of Werner. The gyro was just as it should be: slightly crispy, but not too crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. The fries weren't at all soggy, even when picked up. Also worthy of praise is the delicious coleslaw, which often tastes too sour at many snack bars. The tasty homemade tzatziki rounded off the "complete gyro" – top marks! :-)

It's a snack bar and so is the service: short and limited to the bare essentials. Cash payment only‼️ Gyros pizza (large) very tasty, but also (therefore) very greasy, inexpensive for 11 euros. Greek salad (large) for 9 euros, lush, tasty and inexpensive. There are first and second class guests there. Regular customers (1st class) are offered and given Ouzu without asking. The lower class guests (new customers) do not. If they want one, they have to order it separately AND pay for it 🤣 This is how you get new guests - great 😉

Very good Greek snack in the city center. I've never experienced that before, I just came in and was asked if I wanted an ouzo before I even placed the order, very nice. This is truly hospitality in action. The employees there are very friendly and the gyro pizza is very tasty. I took the small pizza but even that is already properly filled. The prices are also fair. From the outside the shop looks very inconspicuous, but that's deceptive. The ambience is simple but very clean, really okay for a snack bar. There are a few seats inside and you can also sit outside. Many people also pick up food there, the line didn't decrease when I was there. Given the quality that is offered there, it is understandable. It's worth a visit. Gladly again.

Super tasty, but personally the fries were way too crispy and therefore dry for me. With the mayonnaise and the delicious tzatziki, the fries were okay. Maybe that was just the case for me yesterday. That shouldn't stop anyone from going anyway. :) Price performance is top. A small space to sit in, which has a rustic feel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you smell completely fried and fried afterwards. 😅 Just knowing that in case you have anything else planned afterward. Ordered a gyro plate again for a long time today. Been a customer there for over 30 years. Result: MEGA delicious!! That's how it should stay. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case a few months ago. Therefore now 5 stars again. Keep it up.

Gyros Metaxa sauce 13€ good if the quality had been right. Everything just tasted like pepper, way too hot. Fries were soggy and wrapped in aluminum foil. We never again.

It's a kind of chip shop with the hottest gyros in the area. Inside it is rather sterile and small therefore only 3 star ambience. In summer there are tables and chairs outside that invite you to linger and eat. If you are in Werne and are hungry, you will definitely get your money's worth here!

So we just went out to eat, and it was by far the worst pita we've ever eaten! The bread was soggy and dry, and we don't know of any bread like that for a pita! And you don't even need to start with the prices !!! Never again!!!We can't understand the positive reviews!!!
