Paolo Pinkel in Berlin

Used to love this spot. Not sure what happened, but it’s dead now. The butter with the bread was rock-hard, which defeats the purpose of butter. There’s a new, affordably-priced French concept in the kitchen, but it wasn’t great — the chicken brioche was big but under-seasoned. On top of that, half of the alcohol-free cocktails weren’t available, and neither was the alcohol-free rosé. The staff are still lovely, but the place has clearly lost its former charm.

Used to love this place but on my last visit the food was awful - got the truffle pasta which I’ve had lots of times in the past and this time it was awful, had no taste just pasta in a watery sauce. It’s a shame cause their food used to be amazing, not sure what happened

Paola Pinkel stands out for a restaurant in this quite boring but busy and tourism street in Berlin. Love this place and was happy I found it. It was a warm day and while the sun went down was I sitting outside enjoying the last few sunshines. The place is very cozy and modern, you can take a seat inside the restaurant but also take a seat on the windowsill or on the terrace outside. The staff is kind but did I needed to ask sometimes for a new drink, but nothing to worry about. The menu is not big and that is something I like because you don't have to stress about choosing what you would like to order. I ordered the Steak Frites wich was wonderful, only a bit of a shame that they used lots of jus when you come to the bottom of the frites. The slices of steak was delicious! The price was perfect and the portions were good.

The tuna is not fresh and the portion is tiny. Not what you'd expect from paying 16 euro for it.

No longer what it used to be. The food was mediocre. Ordered the truffle pasta, which was very expensive btw, and it was not tasty. Very difficult to make truffle pasta not tasty, but they managed. There were literally squares of lemon zest in it.

Very good, very simple, inexpensive

I had the steak frites and it was really well cooked! The steak was juicy and the chips were well seasoned! The place was busy, but the staff were attentive and polite. I had a great time and will come back!

Unfortunately, since the menu was changed, there are very few "diverse" vegetarian options. It's mainly bread/fries/salad (only green?!) for vegetarians. The drinks, however, are still very tasty.

A good, large restaurant in Neukölln. They host many different events and it's always worth a visit.

The food was delicious, as were the drinks. Prices were reasonable. The service was consistently positive and friendly. However, there's room for improvement in the overall performance. Unfortunately, the staff lacked the peripheral awareness that good restaurants should have (simply glancing left and right at guests while walking through the restaurant to see if anyone is waving, sitting at an empty table, or with empty glasses). The ambiance is cozy, but the restrooms were rather unappealing and mostly lacked toilet paper.

I think it's a great place to go; the current bistro menu is delicious and reasonably priced. Enjoying the last rays of sunshine outside with an egg and orange wine – there are worse things…

We've been coming here for two years and love it. The three different cuisines were always a big hit. Currently, there's only one kitchen, hence the one-star deduction. The service is always incredibly friendly and attentive. As for the atmosphere, it's unfortunately too loud as soon as you come with more than two people, since the music is always turned up full blast. Big plus: Dogs are always welcome!

It was incredibly delicious, you only get something like that in a Michelin-starred restaurant! It was a real pleasure to eat there, and the staff was very friendly! Highly recommended! My must-try was definitely the tuna and truffle fries.

First, it's important to know that there are no longer three kitchens—there's only one now, which wasn't communicated beforehand. When we ordered, we were told that we should expect our food to arrive separately. This should be standard practice in a restaurant and, for a small group, practically unacceptable. After 20 minutes, we were informed that they were out of mussels. We had ordered steak frites. The meat was cold, the fries were soaked in grease, and everything arrived on a far too small plate. Absolutely not recommended. In general, there was hardly any choice on the menu. The ratatouille was completely over-acidic and absolutely inedible. We are very disappointed; none of us felt well after the meal, and we definitely won't be coming back. After we complained, one employee did respond politely, which is a positive point. However, the staff are generally rather unfriendly and sometimes treat guests condescendingly. ... Absolutely poor performance and a significant deterioration of the kitchen. 👎

What happened to this place, it used to be one of the best restaurants in the area but it went completely downhill. The selection is very limited and all food we tried was mediocre, uninventive and overpriced. The service was appalling, each dish came 20 minutes separate from another, so we were never eating at the same time, even though we ordered all at once. We eventually had to cancel our drink order because the drinks were not ready even after half an hour, even though the place was half empty. What a shame, I used to love it but won't come back.

We really liked Paolo Pinkel when it still had three kitchens where you could mix and match. Unfortunately, the new French Paulette doesn't offer much variety, and the dishes we ordered were consistently very greasy and not particularly tasty (with the exception of the leek). It's a shame, we always loved going there!

We were a large group of 11 girls and the service was incredible. Food was also tasty and drinks were flowing. Would recommend for large groups!!

I've been to PP a couple of times over the last years, and it's really a hit or miss. Last time I enjoyed the asian cuisine menu. This time however, they cut the menu quite small; they had only the italian menu and 1 item "Bangladeshi hummus". Truffle fries were good, croquettes were okay, the pistachio and straciatella pasta was almost tasteless, and the steak frites wasn't good (tartar sauce did not go well, meat was low quality and dry). Service was also average, we order a bottle of wine, and we get the bottle before the glasses. Just minor stuff that could be easily made better.

One star for the delicious food and one star for the friendly service – unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The restroom situation was absolutely unacceptable. It looked more like it had been sloppily cleaned after a weekend in a Berlin club than in a restaurant that prides itself on being upscale. The toilet seat was on the floor, there was dirt and paper everywhere, no clean toilet paper was available, and the flush didn't work. For an establishment with these aspirations, this is simply unacceptable and urgently needs improvement. While the service was friendly, the announcement that the dishes would be served one after the other instead of all at once didn't improve the experience. When you go out to eat, you want to eat together – not at staggered intervals while some have already finished and others are still waiting. Another major drawback was the menu. A key part of the concept seems to be the combination of three cuisines, but without prior notice, a large portion of it (the South Korean dishes) was unavailable. This was very disappointing. In conclusion: I would neither recommend this restaurant nor visit it again. The expectations seem far higher than the actual reality – especially when even basic necessities like clean restrooms aren't guaranteed. This situation is all the more incomprehensible on a quiet Monday evening with only a few tables occupied.

Overall, I was satisfied with my visit to this restaurant. The food was delicious and freshly prepared; you can tell they pay attention to quality. The menu offers a good selection with something for everyone. The service was friendly, although it sometimes took a little while to be served. The atmosphere is pleasant, and it's a comfortable place to sit and eat. There's room for improvement in the speed of service, but overall, it's a good restaurant that I would happily recommend.

Poor food, unfriendly service - not recommended

I was there with a group of 10 people. The others seemed to enjoy their meals, and what I tried was also tasty, but my dish (Pistachio Stracciatella Pasta with fresh lemon pesto) was unfortunately inedible. It was extremely bitter, lacked salt, and the pesto was anything but "fresh," even after I tried to salvage it with a lime wedge. The grapefruit lemonade, on the other hand, was good. Unfortunately, it took a very long time to be served, as the waiters were more interested in their phones and were anything but attentive. The final straw was paying. I was second to last in the group to pay, and I had ordered a drink and a dish, which I mentioned and which was confirmed. However, when I presented the menu, the total was significantly higher than expected, which made me suspicious. Upon questioning, he suddenly admitted that he had added a beer and another dish to my bill, which were still outstanding. I was able to clarify internally who still owed the money, but I felt very cheated, especially since I had specifically stated what I was willing to pay... all in all, not a pleasant experience.

The food was absolutely fantastic. We shared and were able to fully enjoy the concept of multiple kitchens in one restaurant. Portion sizes weren't huge, but if you're still hungry, you can simply order another small dish for €6 and experience another explosion of flavor :)

The place had a very unique atmosphere, very lively and energetic. Their menu is very diverse and has plenty to offer to people open to different tastes. We ordered 4-5 different dishes, and they were all quite filling and delicious. It's a place I would definitely want to visit again if I came to Berlin.

They served some interesting creations and everything tasted really good. 👌🏼 Personally, I am a bit old school when it comes to the services. I do enjoy a happy welcoming smile over the cold, emotionless hipster coolness when enjoying a meal. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅 „Meine Meinung!“ as some would say… 🫣😅

The Asian food here is delicious. My favorites are fried tofu with vegetables and beef stew with five-spice powder.

Mostly excellent service, delicious vegan food and ok atmosphere people were smoking inside, that’s a no for an eating place.

At the end of November, we reserved a table for the third Sunday of Advent (December 14th) for our company Christmas party. We relied on this reservation and planned accordingly. Six days before the event, on December 8th, we received a cancellation email – our reservation was unilaterally canceled. The email stated as the reason: “I am truly sorry, but I have to cancel the reservation for Sunday. This is the only day this year that we can still hold our company Christmas party.” This explanation is irritating and downright ironic in several respects. A restaurant that is planning its own Christmas party should know how important planning security is, especially at this time of year. Canceling a reservation confirmed for the third Sunday of Advent at such short notice because they spontaneously changed their mind is, in our opinion, unprofessional and disrespectful to their guests. The offer to "reschedule" our Christmas party to another date was unrealistic and not a solution for us. So, to keep the date for the team, we had to organize an alternative venue for the third Sunday of Advent at short notice. Therefore, we are writing to share our experience of how Paolo Pinkel understands and practices service in general and hospitality in particular. Anyone planning a private or corporate event should be aware that reservations and commitments from Paolo Pinkel are unfortunately not reliable. For us, this behavior is unacceptable – and a clear reason to advise against this restaurant.

Went with high expectations for the food, but was disappointed!

Wonderful amosphere, the personel seems to be handpicked, good food and wine, very queer friendly. Loud place, but it adds to the experience.

The atmosphere is what makes this place but sadly the food on multiple occasions was not worth the money. On the other hand the drinks are very good. And good service for what it is and for Berlin.

This weekend we had dinner at Paolo Pinkel, where we were so impressed by the cocktails that we came back the next day for a nightcap. First of all, it's a really cool concept with three different cuisines. We even ordered from different kitchens, and the food arrived at different times, but slightly separated, so we were all able to start eating together. It was delicious; the truffle fries and truffle pasta are particularly recommended. The service staff were very attentive and friendly; we felt very comfortable. I'll be back next time I'm in Berlin, whether for the food or the cocktails!

We tryed the Ceviche was good ,truffle potatoes delicious. The Tofu and the schnitzel amazing . Staff pretty sweet and cute crowd .

The food is super delicious and interesting. Always! The place is suitable for large groups, but there are also cozy spots for smaller conversations. I can't understand the reviews that there isn't enough variety in the cuisine. The last time I was there, Küche3 served, as always, fantastic Sicilian-Italian cuisine with a Berlin influence. I can recommend everything on the menu here. They place great emphasis on high-quality products, and you can taste it. They also had incredibly delicious schnitzels (better, larger, and cheaper than at many Austrian restaurants in Berlin), as well as one of the best curries I've ever eaten, and they've recently added Weis Kitchen (Asia Fusion). I always found the service to be warm, colorful, and good. After dinner, you can round off the evening in the bar in the same restaurant. There's also a smoking room.

The name really appealed to me, especially because a Jewish CDU talk show host had already used it. What pleased me most was the fact that no prostitution takes place in the bar.

Everything was perfect! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was 10/10. I'll definitely be back.

So...this place looks good. The food...some things are good, others, like tagliatoni, are NOT. The service...simply BAD!!! But REALLY bad, maybe not all of them, but the young girl who served us half-naked had no clue about anything; the only excuse would be if it was her first day. She didn't even know what an entrecôte was. The short blonde with a cap was so rude, you should find another job! I had to eat alone, and after 20 minutes, two friends were eating, and the last one was forgotten. I'm never coming back. And please hire other people, this is really unacceptable.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food looked beautifully presented, and we had trouble deciding on dishes because everything sounded amazing. Unfortunately, each of our six dishes tasted merely okay... it wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. It definitely lacked salt (and I'm usually someone who doesn't add much salt or seasoning to food). The truffle fries, on the other hand, were very good and the only reason I'm giving the food 3 stars instead of 2. I wouldn't necessarily come back, except for the fries and the atmosphere. Perhaps more of a bar with delicious drinks than a good restaurant... Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for me. Thanks to the attentive service (:

...there were five of us with different dishes. First, the good news: all the dishes were excellent. But the portions are a bit small. If you're hungry, you need two dishes, which gets a bit expensive. Furthermore, all of our dishes arrived significantly later, which is a bit unpleasant.

Was Vibe until 10:30 PM. After that, no loud music is allowed. I was there last Friday for an event by the DNA Art club. Cozy vibes, nice drinks. I would have loved it if there were no issue with volume.

The food isn't exceptional. I couldn't recognize the special diversity of the "three" cuisines. The menu posted on the website doesn't match what I found. That was actually the main reason I invited guests. The portion size of the dishes is more like a medium-quality appetizer. I had Königsberger Klopse. These were three mini meatballs a la köttbullar on a bed of roughly 1cm mashed potatoes with woody capers. Served on a small appetizer plate. The service speaks mostly English, which I would expect in London. So, everything I'd previously heard about the restaurant isn't quite accurate anymore. It's a shame, they've apparently reduced the menu a bit. Perhaps I was unlucky, or it was the silly season? Definitely not anymore.

I often recommend Paolo Pinkel to my friends visiting Berlin, as it is a very nice atmosphere with great food and plenty of options. Totally worth the visit for a drink or a dinner!

We were here early on a Friday night and the place wasn’t that packed. Despite this the service was incredibly slow. Our servers had to be flagged down and reminded of what we ordered. I got my main dish maybe 20 minutes before my girlfriend who ordered pasta. The servers were nice and the food wasn’t bad but not good enough to make me want to come back and deal with the slow service.

Despite the fact this place is not bad for a pre night out drinks, I was sitting at a table and then a group of girls came to ask me to move to another table because they wanted to stay there, when I said I finish my drink then I'll go, they became rude then complained to the bar staff who asked me to leave. Absolutely ridiculous and won't be going back again

The idea is cool, but the execution isn't. The music is so loud you almost have to shout, and the service is poorly organized and inattentive. The food varies greatly depending on the cuisine, ranging from truly delicious to bland. Overall, it's too expensive, but okay if you're just looking for a bit of a big city feel and don't want to be entertained.

Very nice there! Primarily African/Central American cuisine

I believe the biggest area for improvement lies in the portion size; it takes about two to two and a half meals to feel satisfied, yet the meals are priced at a full meals price instead of half a meals price. However, I must say that most of the food is unbelievably delicious and creative! Another issue I noticed is that there are too few waiters for the number of guests, leading to wait times, consider to be on the longer end. The employed waiters are very nice and pleasant, but communication is limited to English. It appears to me that the past years Paolo Pinkel has transitioned from being a casual, slightly elevated restaurant with a bistro vibe, to a place that requires a special occasion to enjoy without worrying about the prices. (there are enough occasions in life for good food ) Thank you for another great evening and delicious food!

The waiter Alex is outstanding. Such a warm and funny vibe. They have the best Wiener schnitzel for the best price. Last year I ate the best ice cream in the world over there.

one of my favorite places in Neukölln. I have been so many times and every time I am 100% satisfied. I loved the ceviche, the roastbeef and the schnitzel! The waiters are also so friendly❤️

I ate here last week and, unfortunately, I have to say: It's simply not as good as it was in the first few years after it opened. The truffle fries are significantly smaller in portions, and the truffle sauce is just a tiny dollop on the fries. Also, the fries were too crispy – they'd simply been in the fryer too long. The tiramisu... Sorry, but you really shouldn't call it that. It was just ladyfingers soaked in coffee, topped with some cream, and served straight away – without any time to marinate. The double fried chicken was good, but honestly, the two small rice cakes that came with it were really worth the effort. The salad was also disappointing – very small and poorly presented. All in all, I can't recommend this restaurant. The value for money is simply not there. And the service is unfortunately abysmal. If you can't even manage to smile or show a little friendliness, you should seriously consider whether you're in the right place in the service industry.

The kimchi was surprisingly mild—not much seasoning or spice, which was disappointing since I’ve never had kimchi that wasn’t at least a little spicy. The Korean fried chicken also lacked flavor, which was a letdown. Croquettes were delicious though!! We tried the matcha cheesecake, but the portion was really small. For the price, I expected more. On the bright side, the service was friendly. It did feel a bit disorganized at times, but overall, it was a nice visit.

Yesterday we were at Paolo Pinkel and had probably the best Wiener Schnitzel in Berlin — or at least in Neukölln. The schnitzel itself was wafer-thin, huge and the breading was light, golden brown and not too greasy. The side dish was also really tasty, something like a Chinese potato strip salad but in an Austrian style with pumpkin seed oil and radishes. So if you want to eat schnitzel in Neukölln, you should come here - the price is also really fair, elsewhere you pay more for the schnitzel alone and don't even have a side dish. But since it's only a temporary schnitzel pop-up, you should probably hurry up.

I always enjoy going there. The drinks and food are always creative and tasty, the team is interesting and friendly, and the design of the location is top notch. My absolute favorite bar in Berlin!

This is the second time we've been there and it's simply incredibly tasty and there's something for everyone. Both the food and drinks are great. You won't be overwhelmed by too much choice either. The staff is also very courteous and helpful. After your meal you can also relax in the bar area. Price-performance is also completely ok and justified.

We were a large group and the organization in advance was difficult on our part. Our wishes were taken into account very well and you could always reach someone. The evening itself was really great. Great food and very friendly service.

The restaurant was absolutely packed when we arrived, but the staff managed to squeeze us in, which I very much appreciate as I know how much of a hassle that can be. The staff did take while to get to our table, but that is very understandable as there were a lot of guests (which is why I didn’t deduct a point from the service) The food was very good especially the fried chicken was delicious. The fries however were just ok. Generally I might go there again, but it wouldn’t be my go to.

The concept of the kitchen and room is initially appealing, but unfortunately it hasn't been thought through to the end. There is a lack of love, the store promises more than it actually delivers. The goat cheese salad was delicious and very nice but there were other elements missing between the lettuce leaves. The focaccia was sad, very dry with hair on it. (Italians have to cry) Then maybe just offer well-made bread as a side dish, that doesn't sound so fancy. In general, you can expect better quality ingredients depending on the prices. Something doesn't add up. The pistachio pasta was very good - clear sensation ♡ The service team is very attentive ♡ Some people find the toilets you see in clubs cool, others find them unhygienic. If you pay attention to a few details it could be a really great shop! Otherwise it's more for people who want beautiful pictures for social media.

We hosted a dinner event here for over 20 guests in December and were very pleased with the service, delicious food, and drinks

The food was okay, but the service was poor. The waiters were inattentive, always on their phones, and seemed clueless. Our order was wrong, portion sizes were unclear, and everything took forever. On top of that, it was overpriced for what we got. Unfortunately, not a good experience.

I’m a fan of Eating Fantasy ! Cryspy fried chicken (i like sweet chilly and soy garlic sauce), and it’s perfect when you also order tofu dish, rice balls and pickel trio together. Chicken itself, the sauce is quite punchy in a good way, so it‘s good to eat it with also milder and savory items like tofu & rice balls. The pickel trio has the korean pickeled cucumber, kimchi, pickeled radish, which is a great combo with the rice balls. Ugly rice balls are not so ugly, even cute, and wild sesame oil makes it tasty and savory, especially with the warm rice. The cooking and serving team is really on top of their shizz. Good to go with any group size, it’s always fun to share bunch of things. If the group size grows, also convenient that you can also just goto the bar which is in the same space. I like to go on weekday nights as it’s more relaxed compared to busy weekend. Highly recommend it! I only have one photo because usually i start to eat right away from hunger.. so enjoy this one rare photo of fried chicken!

We were there yesterday shortly after 9 p.m. and were very happy with our choice of restaurant. We weren't familiar with the concept of 3 different cuisines, but it offers the opportunity to eat very varied food, especially with several people. Our favorites that evening were: the Spicy Thai Basil Smash, the Halloumi Fries and the very attentive and friendly staff. Definitely recommended.

What a hipster temple. I was there at the invitation of a friend, but you really have to like this establishment. Overpriced food, lots of tourists and people who think they are better than others and listless waiters who ask you for tips via card payment without asking. I can suffer. Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need it again.

This bar is absolutely amazing, the food is incredibly delicious. Great atmosphere, the staff are very accommodating. After your meal you can simply go to the other side and enjoy the bar. There is also a separate smoking area. Highly recommended

We ordered korean fried chicken and kimcheese fries from Eating Fantasy. Absolutely amazing! Would really recommend to try it! :) The place is also spacious and accessible.

Interesting and unique menu offered across the three kitchens. Common ingredient connecting these appeared to be truffle. Customer service at best was average. Seemed hard to get service...

6 stars for the Korean fried chicken! It was the best I’ve had in ages, so crispy outside and juicy inside. 5 stars for the pulpo (octopus) dish. Service can be a little weird but ultimately not that different from most of Berlin (lol rip). Nice drink menu with fairly typical prices.
