Summary: The food was okay but a bit overpriced. Later, we celebrated inside and regularly ordered our drinks at the bar, paying with our cards right away. You can choose whether or not to tip when paying with your card. Since we had already left a very large bill outside and a decent tip, I didn't want to tip with every round of drinks. The waiter at the bar didn't like that and expressed his opinion with his colleague by talking meanly about me, taking my glass, and pretending to spit in it 😡😡 Stick your pasta up your asses!

The two of us ate at the Palazzo in Hamburg. For starters, we had vitello tonnato, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the octopus was completely unimpressive; in my opinion, it was by far the worst octopus we've ever been served. Overall, the experience was rather disappointing. Therefore, we give it 2 out of 5 points.

Massimo has Palazzo firmly under control. He fits in perfectly with the Palazzo, and his humorous style fits the team. The cuisine, under Marco, is still top-notch, and even the fish soup in a terrine, with its generous garnish, is still the best in the city. The lamb chop was tender, and the truffled mashed potatoes ordered with it were top-notch. It was preceded by octopus carpaccio and stuffed pumpkin blossoms with ricotta filling. Because it was so beautiful, we had to have a dolce. The large terrace offers plenty of space, a lovely spot, and a very sociable atmosphere. Ristorante Palazzo, an institution since time immemorial! On weekends, young people party here until the early morning. The Palazzo connects the generations, and that's a wonderful thing!

We made reservations well in advance. The food is really good, but the staff is rather short-tempered. The place is busy and obviously very popular. Despite the high standards, I've experienced much better service in comparable restaurants – in particular, the wait for the food here was unusually long. We also had little say in our table selection. I would come back, but with the clear expectation that the service would be rather mediocre.

Ten people, one meal arrived 30 minutes late. No apology, substandard, bad service. Never again.

Unfortunately we weren't satisfied at all. Neither the food nor the service was satisfactory. The aperitif came - after being asked four times - towards the end of the meal and was still charged, the plates were not cleared and no further drinks were ordered at all because we were simply not served. The table next to us, well-known guests, were served very friendly and very often. Unfortunately, this leaves a bad impression. The menu also differed greatly from the menu on the homepage, which is much more extensive.

That used to be the best Italian restaurant in Hamburg, but now it's no longer good there, it's overpriced and the service is cheeky, even outrageous.

We had reserved and our table was occupied when we arrived. Then we were taken to the bar and told to order an aperitif, until then everything was fine. But then the evening took its course :-(... we were constantly in the way (everything was very narrow) and were treated accordingly by the waiters. Ultimately we got a place in the winter garden (outside area) near the door that was constantly opening and closing. Next to us there was a patio heater turned to full blast. So our legs were freezing and it was mercilessly hot upstairs. When we asked to regulate the mushroom, we and other guests were ignored. We waited for more than an hour to order. Meanwhile It was already after 10 p.m. The food was good, apart from the fact that it was no longer hot. Our girls' trip in Hamburg didn't start off so well with this restaurant visit. I can't recommend it. After a miserable wait and ignorance from the staff, we no longer wanted to go to the party that was to follow later and left after dinner. The service should be worked on here. Felt clearance. Little information: we smoke in the winter garden here, which we weren't aware of before (coming from North Rhine-Westphalia) and was very disruptive while eating. Price/performance not given.

For me the best restaurant in Hamburg. Nice ambience, nice, attentive staff, good food and just always the best atmosphere! If you haven't been there at least once (on the weekend), you're missing out! ;-)

Party Italian at its best. Eating so well, you have to be honest. Nothing special and clearly behind other Italians. But of course people come here more for the atmosphere and the party. So it can be forgiven and fits into the overall concept. It's best to sit indoors and not in the winter garden, where we'll get more into the matter later.

I don't understand the bad rating here. The food was soooo delicious, the best bruschetta I've ever eaten. I was rather surprised at the low prices. My carafe of red wine cost €6.50. There's a party there from 11 p.m. and anyone who complains that it's too loud should go to another restaurant. The later the louder.

The Palazzo on Rothenbaumchaussee is simply a guarantee for a great evening! The pasta platters are unbeatable, the music creates a great atmosphere, and the service is always top. Perfect for a fun evening with a large group of friends – absolute recommendation!

The atmosphere was really great at the end - everyone was dancing. But the place is totally sleazy - the crowd and the service. At the beginning everything was fine - when at the end of the evening we simply didn't order as much alcohol (only Prosecco every 40 minutes) the bill was presented to us - we can leave now because we wouldn't drink any more. Total bill of 5 = 390€… the food was okay but also too expensive for what you get

I've never seen such a bad store. I just wanted to celebrate my closest friend's birthday with my friends and then we were thrown out of the restaurant after a completely unjustified €600 bill after a few young people messed up. The pasta was unsalted and not aldente and the staff was incredibly unfriendly.

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Hamburg! This Italian is simply a dream! Every time we eat here it feels like we are visiting family and friends. The warm welcome, the warm atmosphere and the incredibly attentive hosts make every visit something very special. The food? Simply heavenly! Whether fish, meat or vegetarian – everything here is prepared with love and the best ingredients. Rounded off with the best drinks.

We paid €100 for a plate of pasta and were thrown out because someone accused us of drinking out of their shoe. Service absolute disaster, we will definitely NEVER come back.

I can only agree with the reviews below. The food was subpar, I can prepare better pasta at home and the service was super unfriendly. My personal icing on the cake was that I started smoking after dinner. Suddenly the place became so crowded that you just got elbows in the face (while sitting) and couldn't enjoy the atmosphere anymore. Far too crowded, far too loud, and I don't think we even need to talk about smoking in the restaurant. Absolute no go! Stay away from it, every other restaurant in Hamburg is better. Then it's better to go to a kiosk and get frozen pizza, you'll have more of it there.

It was incredibly loud. The music was only playing quietly in the background, but the volume in the restaurant (even during the meal at around 8 p.m.) was so high that you couldn't hold a conversation and it was extremely tiring. The food was absolutely mediocre and too expensive. The service was nice, but ordered drinks were repeatedly forgotten and no one came to the table to take drink orders. No recommendation from me. I didn't understand all the hype about the place and was really very disappointed.

I’ve been to palazzo many times but once I tried calling to talk about a reservation. That I already tried assuring online. They were disrespectful and hang up on me before even I could finish my sentence. You’re paying for the name not the food not the service. Terrible terrible service. Unprofessional. Being mean is not Italian culture. Would recommend going to positano Osteria 10 times better.

I would prefer not to give a star at all! This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. The waiters are arrogant and just spread stress. The restaurant is way too loud, so you just have to shout at each other to have a conversation while eating. The food was just bad and way too overpriced. Spaghetti with tomato sauce that doesn't taste like anything - you can do it much better at home! I ordered a drink that just never came. Later, when paying (despite the tip!), the amount was typed into the card reader and taken to a colleague and obviously insulted because the tip wasn't enough for him. I then paid and he immediately turned his back on me and left - no thanks and nothing. How arrogant and ungrateful with such poor service and quality. Later while dancing, my friend told me that she had just noticed the waiter talking badly about us. We felt totally uncomfortable and then we got trapped.

The evening was a disaster. The food was overpriced and had no taste (my companion: substandard). To say the service leaves something to be desired would be an understatement. The overwhelming demands on the staff are written all over their faces. We got the wrong drinks despite asking three times and the staff argued next to us. While we were eating, the tables were already being cleared away because the terrace was supposed to close. Last but not least, a gap in the roof was opened so that the guests would freeze so that they would walk faster. At the end the lights were turned off completely so that everyone could leave the terrace. We had to turn on the flashlight to leave the store. The money was also disrespectfully snatched with the back turned and no thank you was heard. Actually we don't want to give any stars.

We were here with a private group for the Christmas party 2024 just before the holidays. Very courteous, fast staff. The boss served himself. The 120 guests never had to wait long. A great buffet was set up to the left of the entrance, here the starters were served first and then the other courses so that it didn't dry out or cool down. The food was of very high quality and was always freshly refilled. The covered and heated terrace was provided for smokers. BUT: no picture was hanging right now, maybe it was intentional, it has charm ;-) I will remember this place for a long time and will come back here privately.

Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. The service was extremely poor. We left before our first order. We were given a seat in the doorway of an empty restaurant, on the street so to speak. This restaurant does not appeal to guests who value service and friendliness. We didn't even want to try the food :)

The restaurant is more appearance than reality. I ordered penne with burrata – for For €18.50 you could get just a single slice of burrata. The price-performance ratio is an absolute disappointment. Newly rich guests seem to come here in particular, and they place less value on good food than on being seen. For truly authentic and tasty Italian food, there are definitely better alternatives - and at fairer prices. Unfortunately not recommended at all.

I asked for a voucher by email because a friend from Hamburg likes to visit this store. Unfortunately, I'm not from Hamburg and thought - it doesn't cost anything to ask. An answer came straight away, I should send my address and transfer the amount. No sooner said than done. The voucher arrived in the mail two days later. Not at all obvious, thanks for the effort!!!

The Palazzo is a “party Italian”. The food is great. The service too. And late at night people dance on the tables here. Great for having fun and partying. Maybe not necessarily for a romantic tête-à-tête.

Based on many stories and the impressions on Instagram, we wanted to spend a nice evening at Palazzo. Unfortunately, we have NO recommendation. Although the quality of the food was good, there were some aspects that we didn't like: - There was constant smoking in the winter garden in which we sat. This was particularly unpleasant when eating. - The starter was way too expensive for a 4 person starter plate. €95(!) was charged on the bill. - Some errors in service (no wine glasses, appetizer plates with meat even though we ordered a vegetarian appetizer plate). - Unfortunately there was no accommodation regarding the antipasti faux-pas.

Was nothing. Waiter overwhelmed, food took forever, mood became more and more tense and still no result.

We were in this restaurant three weeks ago with a group of 10 people - and unfortunately I can't get that evening out of my mind, it was so disappointing. Even at the unfriendly reception we had the feeling that we weren't really welcome. The music was far too loud, making it difficult for our group to have a conversation, which significantly dampened the mood. The food came quickly and the quality was okay, but the spaghetti was anything but al dente - hard, tasteless and simply disappointing. But that wasn't all: after dessert we were completely ignored by the staff. Empty bottles just remained there, no one asked if we wanted to drink or order anything else. The behavior of the waiters was particularly unpleasant. They consistently appeared arrogant, disinterested and gave the impression that they had no interest in their job. This behavior overshadowed the entire evening and left us all with a negative feeling. For a group that had been looking forward to a nice evening together, this was an absolute letdown. We will neither visit nor recommend this restaurant again.

Ein sehr unprofessioneller Restaurant und Service von Geschäftsführer. Ich habe am Samstag Abend einen Tisch reserviert für 5 Person um 20 Uhr es wurde mir kurz vor 19 Uhr über eine freundin abgesagt nur weil der andere Gast mitbekommen hat das meine Freundin mitkommt. Begründung für die absage war: der andere Gast möchte nicht das meine Freundin vor Ort ist und daher hat er uns abgesagt und den Tisch storniert. Sehr unprofessionell.

Grauenvoll. Wer Lust hat, seinen Abend zwischen peinlichen wohlstandsverwahrlosten Halbstarken zu verbringen, und dabei überteuertes Essen zu bekommen, ist gut aufgehoben.

Strong prices, but unfortunately carelessly prepared portions, long waiting times, poor service - although friendly, we unfortunately had to order almost all the drinks several times before something arrived. The crowning glory was the Aperol Spritz, the color alone was completely different, when asked they just said it wasn't a real Aperol... unfortunately misleading because it wasn't mentioned on the menu. They were okay, not outstanding, nothing special.

Ate for €250 but paid for €400.

Congratulations to all the staff (waiters and kitchen) for the excellent coordination of the service for a group of around 100 people. I recommend it for dinners organized for particular events.

There was a large group and it took a long time until we were served. From around 11 p.m. onwards you were hardly allowed to talk at normal volume outside. The waitress complained about the low tip - they would have preferred to charge them individually... which is what we initially wanted, but the devices didn't work.

Food was really delicious and atmosphere can be really fun after 11pm, service is super friendly unfortunately only thing I did not like is that the cocktails (pornstar martini and espresso martini) and not made fresh but come out of a machine.. for 15€ for a drink I would prefer freshly made drinks

I love old restaurants. Restaurants with history. Walls full of pictures of famous people being there. Palazzo is this type of place. But........ There is much more. The cuisine is italian. Everyone knows it, everyone loves it :-). This time I was surprised. There were some starters - salad + seafood. These were incredible. Very tasty. Service top level in several languages.Prices - does not matter...maybe. Parking - it is difficult. It can be free, it can be paid. It is so, because the restaurant is situated on a crossroad, and one street is paid, the other one not. Highly recommend it. Ok - it would be fair if there was not a drawback. So, I said I like old restaurants, but sometimes refurbishing, here and there, is needed. Consider booking and go.

Essen gut, mehr nicht. Service lässt zu wünschen übrig! Glas Wein bestellt (6,50 Euro auf der Speisekarte) Berechnet wurden 10,50 Euro… Erst später bemerkt. Hier muss man wohl erst mit dicken Karre vorfahren wenn man GUT bedient werden möchte. Als es dann kein Trinkgeld gab, zog man beleidigt davon. Grazie für nix!

Be careful, check the invoice several times. Things that were not ordered are often added to the invoice. The overall service was very poor, the tip was forced on you, and the food was just okay, but definitely not worth the price. The mood was quite good from around 10:30 p.m. on a Friday.

The temperature in the restaurant was already very cozy at the beginning of our evening, then rose to Sahara level. Luckily, at some point the ventilation was switched on and then things worked reasonably well. The food is okay but way too expensive. The drink prices are within the normal Hamburg range. Since some of our group had to leave early, they paid for their food and drinks individually. This was commented on in a very unfriendly manner by the staff, even though this could easily happen in any other restaurant on this planet. We still had a nice evening, but that was more due to the group and less to the palazzo.

My experience at this restaurant was absolutely disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired and the waiting times were an absolute disgrace. A whole three hours passed between the starter and the main course, and when it finally came, the pasta wasn't even cooked through! For a restaurant that is supposedly Italian, you should be able to assume that they can prepare pasta properly. And as if that wasn't enough, the prices were completely exorbitant. Conclusion: A complete waste of money and definitely not a place I will ever visit again.

The ambience was great, especially in the evenings. The food is very bad and expensive. Pasta with salmon was ok, the salmon was completely fried, the pasta was cold and hard. Waiter was quite nice. Smoking is allowed in the restaurant later in the evening, as it is very narrow and stuffy and there is no circulation. There were some drinks on the bill that we never got. It was very difficult to clarify this because we had to discuss it for a long time.
