Everything is perfect here: quaint, cozy inn, super friendly service, great service (the dog was also well looked after) and very good food - the schnitzel dishes are "gigantic" in the truest sense of the word and extremely tasty. The Oxen is not for people who want chic or event catering, it is a real recommendation for those who like good cuisine, great service and a cozy inn. We'll be back!

As Belgian tourists who wanted to eat typical German dishes, this is definitely recommended! Very cozy place, a lot of food that is also super tasty. The service is top notch and very friendly people. Beautiful local restaurant if you want a real German experience.

The ultimate insider tip! Rather inconspicuous from the outside, the food was great and the service was extremely friendly, warm and on the ball! The owner Udo does a fantastic job in the kitchen and conjures up amazing food with a lot of love and passion! My absolute highlight was the Cordon Bleu - I have never eaten it so well prepared anywhere else. You sit beautifully in the backyard, the waiter Gill welcomes you warmly and serves you with great pleasure. The portions are large, freshly cooked and only the best ingredients are used! Every table was occupied, reservations are an advantage. We got a table even without a reservation and were very happy! I can highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to my next visit here!! Udo’s heart definitely beats for the best meat!

The best Cordon Bleu of my life! Simply sensational. Crispy breading on the outside, juicy filling and tender meat on the inside. Highly recommended if you like Cordon Bleu. But not only that can be found on the memory card, but also several types of schnitzel and rump steak. My cousin's was, as ordered, grilled to medium-rare perfection. Plus a large selection of side dishes and local wines. A big compliment to the kitchen, but the attentive but unobtrusive service also deserves praise. Restaurant in a rustic half-timbered farmhouse, with an outdoor terrace and guest parking space in the courtyard. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely come back. Yesterday I fulfilled the promise from my first review to come back when I'm in the area. I wasn't disappointed, on the contrary this time it was even better, we sat outside in the courtyard away from the main street, the weather was perfect, wonderfully cozy and quiet. Last time there was Corona. Service very attentive but unobtrusive. Food great as always, cordon bleu crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, delicious sweet potato fries, large selection of drinks. Prices are very moderate. Thanks to Udo, the boss, also for the relaxed chat. There's just one problem: I HAVE to come back again, not just around the corner from Berlin.

We were there for Cordon Bleu Day. The service was very friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The order was taken quickly. The food is freshly prepared and may take some time. But we thought it was OK, as long as it was fresh and good. the food came at the same time and the cordon bleu were huge. Rarely have I had such a delicious meal. Crispy, hot and plentiful. It's a shame that we live so far away (Berlin). The price was completely fine. We'll definitely come away again as we're nearby

Super cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Very attentive waitresses who ask often, but not intrusively, whether everything is OK. The food is sensational. The portions are large. Everything to the point. An absolute must visit in Rheinau!

The Gasthaus Oxen in Linx impresses with its beautiful outdoor area, which is perfect for relaxing evenings outdoors. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent cuisine, which impresses with its quality and taste. The schnitzels are a highlight and were served juicy and deliciously crispy. The cordon bleu was also very tasty and left a lasting impression. The cordon bleu tarte flambée particularly stood out and was extremely good – a special recommendation for all guests. The side dishes complemented the main dishes excellently and rounded off the taste experience. The portions are generous, which underlines the excellent price-performance ratio. Overall, the Gasthaus Oxen offers a wonderful combination of beautiful surroundings, delicious food and fair prices. Definitely worth a visit!

Schnitzel & Cordon Bleu were okay But the steak didn't work at all, 2 out of 3 were tough with tendons, a shame. Either buy better goods or just leave them 🤷‍♂️ Sauces were from the packet That is not how it works Service was friendly and accommodating

This was definitely our last time at OXEN! 1st attempt 4 weeks ago: Food was great BUT waiting time was 1.20 hours until something was finally on the table. The boss apologized and brought a small bowl of fries in advance - we thought it was great 2nd attempt: Thursday = Cordonbleu campaign day, food arrived very promptly and was delicious again BUT the portion of fries that came with it were only half as big as on normal days, so we order again straight away. When paying, there was a negative surprise: additional fries for 3.90 euros, the waiter said the side dish would only be served as a half portion on the day of the promotion, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. ARE YOU CRAZY ! and then had the audacity to claim that we would be the first to order more, even though at the same time a man at the next table complained about the measly portion in the same way because he overheard the conversation. SORRY but we see this as a rip-off. Promotion day = half portion of side dish = reorder So the savings are almost used up and the day of action for the... A little more sensitivity for the guest when, according to the waitress, we were the only ones for whom half the fries weren't enough and everything would have been fine. But that was the last visit!

Huhu, this evening we ended up in Linx “out of the ordinary” thanks to a recommendation 👻. During the stagecoach era, the “Ochsen” inn was a station where the horses were changed 🐎. The "Oxen" experienced its second heyday during the tobacco era in the 1950s, when tobacco was weighed, sold and loaded under the Ochsenschopf 🌟 The two heart-warming servers in the historic, renovated, rustic, rustic half-timbered inn were very open-minded, quick and very friendly. The food came quickly, was very tasty and large, so that we can upgrade our Brussels sprout casserole with the contents of our "doggy bag" for lunch tomorrow 🤠. The standard menu is also very balanced. We felt very comfortable; Here we go again 😋

Everything here is fresh and homemade! From the most delicious and creative schnitzel variations to burgers and vegetarian versions - everyone will be full and satisfied here. Here we are also open to guests' wishes and suggestions. Absolutely inexpensive, absolutely delicious!

Very great person, good service and the food perfect

Leider kann ich für das Essen keine Bewertung schreiben, weil wir nichts bekommen haben. Wir bestellten (Wir hatten auch den Tisch reserviert) das empfohlene Tagesmenü und Rösti. Also nichts Kompliziertes. Nach einer Stunde Wartezeit bekamen wir einen Teller Salzstangen und Flips als Vertröstung, dass es so lange dauert. Nach eineinhalb Stunden warten (21 Uhr, wir hatten nun wirklich Hunger) konnte man uns immer noch nicht sagen, wielange es noch dauern würde. Wir sind dann nach Bezahlung der Getränke gegangen. Im Restaurant waren inzwischen nur noch zwei Tische besetzt, wo nur etwas getrunken wurde. Was war da bloß los? Mein Bekannter hatte diese Erfahrung leider schon einmal dort gemacht. Wir kommen also nicht mehr.

We made a reservation at 7:30 p.m., about 15 minutes later. We were able to order the drinks, but at 9 p.m. they couldn't tell us when the food would finally arrive. Dinner of the day and salad! We were put off with flips! Annoyed, we left hungry, this was the second time that happened to us there, impossible. Apparently there's something wrong in the kitchen, never again!

Tolles Essen, sehr sehr lecker. Lange nicht so gut außerhalb gegessen. Sehr nettes Personal. Top!!!! Wieder gerne.

Unscheinbar an der Hauptstraße gelegen würde man hier nicht unbedingt direkt Halt machen. Auch der Eingangsbereich wirkt nicht sehr einladend, da man erstmal an den Toiletten vorbei muss… ABER DER SERVICE und DAS ESSEN schlägt alles! Und dafür geht man ja schließlich in ein Restaurant ;-) Super freundlich, nicht gestresst und immer um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht, wird man hier regelrecht vom Service verwöhnt. Die Küche macht ebenfalls einen super Job. Viele Produkte werden selbst hergestellt (z.B. Burger Buns, Saucen…). Schnell war die Küche obendrein und das Essen stand ruckzuck auf dem Tisch. Preis/Leistung ist echt in Ordnung. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!!

Ja, der Oxen erinnert mich an meine Kindheit 😀 Das Wirtshaus hat Charme, wie in vergangenen Zeiten eben. Mir gefällt das irgendwie ! Und die Wirtsleute sind sehr nett.

Wir kamen ausgehungert um 15.45 Uhr wir sprachen mit Koch Udo und er hatte ein Herz und nahm sein Kochlöffel in die Hand 30 Minuten später verzauberte er uns mit den besten cordobleu . Wir waren über so viel Freundlichkeit überrascht. Ein großes Lob an das ganze Team wir kommen wieder grüße von den 4 aus Frankreich und Bad Krozingen

Ich habe selten ein so hervorragendes Gasthaus gefunden. Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Portionen sind mega! Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist top und sehr freundliche Wirtsleute. Hier wird die Gastfreundschaft richtig toll gelebt in einem urigen Ambiente. Ich bin immer wieder begeistert !!

Wir haben im Ochsen den Geburtstag von unserem Sohn gefeiert. Wir durften die kegelbahn nutzen und haben dann mit den großen und kleinen Gästen etwas gegessen. Der Raum in dem die Kegelbahn ist war extra für uns liebevoll dekoriert, das Essen war toll,der Service großartig, president ohne aufdringlich zu sein, so wünscht man sich das! Wir hatten einen super tollen Geburtstag ganz lieben dank an das Team

Also von außen denkt man *naja* auch die Einrichtung ist alt, ABER das machen sie mit Ihren super freundlichen Bedienungen und richtig gutem Essen wieder weg 😀 wir waren zu 10 dort und hatten sehr viele Sonderwünsche aber das war garkein Problem. DAs Essen ist wirklich sehr sehr gut, man muss zwar länger warten aber da Alles FRISCH zubereitet wird, ist das in Ordnung. Wir waren alle satt und glücklich, wir kommen gerne wieder.😀 sehr zu Empfehlen

War extrem viel Essen. Hab den größten Burger auf der Karte gegessen. Hab wie ein macher aufgegessen.

Unsere Kinder haben uns in dieses Restaurant mitgenommen. Der Tisch war reserviert und es war angenehm warm draußen im Zelt. Bestellt war schnell und nach kurzem warten kam dann auch unser Essen auf den Tisch. Sehr lecker und riesen Portionen. Hier muss der Hunger mit kommen. Preis und Leistung hervorragend und sehr selten zutoppen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und der Überschuss wurde uns auch noch eingepackt. LECKER
