Always worth a visit. We have enjoyed going to Outbaxx for years. Even after the change of ownership. Luckily nothing has changed here. The food is good. We usually stick with the large selection of burgers, all of which are also available as a veggie version. Before that, home-baked bread, followed by a ginger schnapps. The service is always extremely nice. And we also like the atmosphere in the half-timbered house or in the large beer garden. There is even a little surprise for the birthday children. So always happy.

I've always wanted to go to OutbaX and yesterday it finally happened. The building with its individual seating niches creates a great atmosphere. The food and service were great (instead of being sold more, we were actually told that the traditional bread was available anyway and that we didn't necessarily need the starter). I would also like to emphasize the child-friendliness: starting with the children's menu as a coloring and puzzle book, to the extra glasses and stools in the toilet. It was a lovely evening for us!

We were at OutbaX once when we were about 12 years old and have now tried it again in January 2025. The result remained the same. Service and ambience good, but the food, oh well. As is well known, tastes can be debated, so what I write is certainly subjective. One sentence that describes everything for me is: quantity instead of quality. We had the starter plate for around 24 euros, the ribs and a spicy burger. The appetizer plate is visually somewhat OK, but the taste is simply flat. Neither the pumpkin soup nor the rest provides a taste experience. Considering the price, I expect a more refined taste here and not something so flat. There was a lot of ribs, but it wasn't visually appealing on the plate. Furthermore, the breading, or whatever was on the outside, wasn't crisp and crunchy, but rather mushy, like it came from the steamer or warming oven. In our opinion it was also completely over-seasoned. You needed water, water, water. The burger was a little better, but here too, the sauce was more flat than delicate in taste. If you like large portions, like in the country inn, with the taste of ready-made sauce, this is the place for you. Anyone who values ​​sophisticated, elegant cuisine with a fine, differentiated taste is probably wrong. We won't be coming back for a while. In terms of price, OutbaX is similar to El Chileno in Bothfeld, but the difference is like night and day. One is Langasthof, while El Chileno is star cuisine. For us in Hanover that means El Chileno and Tomo Sushi remain our favorites and for beef the Block House is number 1.

Unfortunately we had a place in the tent despite the heat mushrooms, it was cold fortunately we were able to go to the restaurant later. We ordered the same dish, unfortunately the portions on the plates were different sizes, hence the 4 stars. Good taste, friendly service.

Very nicely decorated and good food

Our first visit was super positive. Very friendly staff who offered us the most beautiful place. Very beautiful old half-timbered house where every niche is used perfectly. The selection of dishes is great. Large selection of burgers. We had an ostrich and a kangaroo burger, as well as curls which were super crispy and delicious. Various sauces included for free (ketchup, mayo, BBQ...). Both types of meat were really tasty and tender. The free starter was freshly baked bush bread with 2 dips. So delicious. We chose a non-alcoholic beer. It was super refreshing and special. Going to the toilet must also be mentioned!! Very clean and the little ones were also taken into consideration. The women and men had toilet attachments for the little ones! 👍🏻 Really great!!!! The staff was regularly at the table, asked nicely and then withdrew again. It was just a lovely evening - we'll be back.

We had dinner here today. We had two burgers and the ostrich fillet. The fillet was extremely tender and really very tasty. Both burgers had delicious and high-quality toppings, and you could tell that someone put a lot of effort into the selection. All in all a great evening. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and we all absolutely loved it! Starting with the incredibly friendly service and a cozy location. Our dishes were very tasty, fried to perfection and beautifully presented. The house beer tastes good! Highly recommended restaurant, where we will definitely come more often!

Bin echt positiv überrascht. Habe schon seit Jahren von diesem Restaurant gehört aber es gemieden, weil ich kein Fleischesser bin aber heute war ich dort mit Familie und alles was dort heute im Brunch serviert wurde, war super lecker. Man konnte auch rausschmecken, dass dieses Restaurant mit guten Produkten kocht. Ich werde dort auf jeden Fall nochmal hingehen.

If you want to try good burgers or exotic meat (crocodile, kangaroo, camel), you are sure to find something tasty here. The ambience is decorated in a way that, at least to me, exuded "a touch of Australia". The service is friendly, but can also call customers' names loudly if necessary. There is also seating in the garden. I can't say anything about the more exotic dishes because I ate a beef burger. My colleagues who dared said everything was delicious (the crocodile supposedly tastes like chicken). The prices are tough; But the citizens are reasonably priced compared to the class and the taste - I've already tried many. The restaurant is definitely worth recommending.

We were there with 8 people plus a baby after a funeral because the deceased was an Australia fan. First of all, 5 stars for opening especially for us. This is not a given. We were greeted very warmly and the service was very friendly, relaxed and funny the entire time. We felt very comfortable. The food is very good. We had fantastic burgers and another main course with different types of meat. Everything was very tasty and the portions were more than sufficient. At the end we talked to the extremely friendly owner about the history of the shop. He learned there himself and took over the shop from the former owner last year to prevent a tapas shop from moving in there. He said himself that it took a lot of courage and that really impressed us. Yes, the prices may not be like those at the chip shop around the corner. When he told us that the kilo of meat had risen from 38 euros to 51 euros, we could understand that. So before you start making noises about it, just talk to the people on site. Outbax can compete with any other burger shop and if you like, you can also get unusual types of meat. We really enjoyed it and we will definitely come again. Thank you!!!

A nice restaurant with delicious food and nice staff. The waiting times were on the high side, but there was a lot going on, so that can happen. ;) The selection of dishes was good, it was difficult to decide. But that's not meant in a negative way. Overall a very nice experience.

Very good service and excellent food

Came across this restaurant by chance and were really impressed after visiting. Friendly owner, good service and the burgers are simply excellent. The Pavlova dessert is also recommended (although surprisingly rich). We can only recommend the OutbaX Spirit and will come back.

An absolute recommendation! Exotic food for my companions and also a pleasure for me as a vegetarian. All burgers are also available as veggies and are extremely tasty. A great restaurant with friendly service :)

Nice idea with a lot of room for improvement. The atmosphere inside is nice and makes you want to go on vacation. Beer garden atmosphere outside, pleasant to linger. After the friendly greeting, it took 15 minutes until we received the menu (which should be renewed as it was very worn out) and a total of 40 minutes until the first drinks arrived. Bread and dip (usually given as a welcome) were available upon request. Overall, the service was very friendly and helpful, but as described, a bit overwhelmed. The food was quite expensive but unfortunately only OK. The meat was partially overcooked and too dry, the vegetables (there is only a mix of varieties) tasted very soft and boring. If you want to eat ostrich, crocodile and kangaroo you can do so here, but there are no culinary highlights here.

Anyone looking for a good steakhouse at an attractive price. The meat dishes are great. Was my 2nd visit. So far I've had the prawns, kangaroo and ostrich (see pictures) and they're really exceptionally good. The rest is solidly crafted, but nothing special. Vegetables fresh, crunchy, good roasted aromas. Service was very friendly, sometimes a bit inattentive, but not on purpose. :) Perfect if you want to spend a casual evening with good, hand-crafted, rustic food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Come again.

There are not very many Australian restaurants in Germany that offer so-called “bush food”. These include kangaroo, ostrich, crocodile and baramundi (a type of perch). There used to be camel, but now the procurement costs are too high to be able to offer guests a reasonable price level. You should be “brave” and try the dishes! It just tastes great! Be sure to order the Pavlova for dessert. It's definitely enough for two people. There is also a large selection of drinks from Australia.

We were politely asked whether we would like to sit inside or outside and were then seated in a really cozy garden! The service was super friendly and charming throughout the evening! Very extensive menu and everything extremely tasty, from the aperitif and starters to main courses and cocktails!!! Everything was really plentiful and tasted great!!! Relaxed place with a nice rustic ambience. You can feel there well, also for longer time stay. We were there with a small group of 8 people for Sundays Brunch. The buffet does not look that big. But that's a trick. The offered kinds of food are much. Just not too big plates on the buffet. That's good for sustainability and grants high frequency of fresh made replacement. I have to state. the Känguru meat was the best I ever ate! If you doubt, because in your experience Känguru is tough meat, believe me. It's not the meat. It was the cook. Let's come to the service. All friendly and supportive. Young ladies may be little unobtrusive or shy. It's almost better than offensive. Last but not least, price level. 36€ sounds much at first view. But most drinks and coffee included. So, I would say, absolutely fair. I can recommend this restaurant!

A restaurant with lots of Australian dishes and a lot of burgers. And the burgers also differ from American compositions. The atmosphere is great, and the new boss also brings a lot of hospitality with him, having already learned for many years under the old owner. The staff is very nice. I like to eat here.

There is definitely still something special about going out to eat at an Australian restaurant. Crocodile and kangaroo are rather the exception on a memory card. Of course, quality also has its price. I always attach great importance to craftsmanship and unfortunately that didn't appeal to me. The meat, the burgers and ribs are perfect, but virtually every main dish comes with either pumpkin-zucchini-pepper vegetables or zucchini-pepper vegetables. That's it. And potatoes in various simple versions. The meat is certainly worth a certain price, but the side dishes should also be a little more exciting. Nevertheless, very nice location and great team.

And since our children have insisted on visiting soon, we will be there promptly with the whole family. 😋

We were there for the first time this evening. The food (2x Rooburger) was really the best. The entire team was super nice and very accommodating. After the excellent meal there were very tasty cocktails. All in all it was a great evening. We will be back definitely.

Every group finds its niche. The prices are in the upper price segment. If you still want to eat cheaply, for example: in good hands with the crocodile burger.

The "Outbax Spirit", a well-known address in Hanover, has reopened under new management after a highly publicized closure last year. **Atmosphere and Service:** The restaurant is rustic and cozy, which contributes to a relaxed meal. The service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating during our visit. **Food:** Given the increased price of meat, I opted for an Australian burger with grilled pineapple, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onions, Havarti and cheddar cheese and burger sauce. The burger tasted delicious, but was a bit too filling for me. Next time I visit I'll try one of the other creative burgers. The twister potatoes and bun were okay, but not outstanding. **Starter and dessert:** As a starter we chose onion rings, which were crispy and spicy, but a bit pricey. The dessert, a Pavlova, was a delight - meringue with cream, fruit and mango sauce.

First of all: we will definitely come back, despite two points of criticism. The restaurant is somewhat rustic and cozy, very clean and the staff is friendly. The choice of food is truly exceptional. There are so many exotic dishes that you can't find anywhere else in Hanover. Australia definitely has something to offer in terms of cuisine. We definitely have to try it out some more. The two of us had two starters and a main course. The quantity was exactly right. All three dishes were very tasty and unusual. The meat was on point and tender. Even the side dishes are not standards. There are only two critical points to mention: 1. The dishes are all on the very salty spectrum. A matter of taste. I like it that way. But you get pretty thirsty. So next time I'll ask if a little less salt can be used. Already for my blood pressure. 2. The prices are unfortunately very high. We were at €40 per person. With just one main course. I can well understand that kangaroos, ostriches and crocodile are expensive to buy and I am therefore prepared to pay a lot for the exotic ones. But even more ordinary dishes are very expensive. The starter “3 slices of bread with pesto” for over €10 is already tough. At my Italian restaurant around the corner, which is also excellent, four pieces of brusschetta only cost €5.40. Due to the price, we cannot come as often as we would like.

Wonderful ambience with numerous niches in which you can sit down and enjoy. The team is ultra accommodating, the food is tasty and plentiful. We can warmly recommend it. <3

Das Känguru ist mir drecksfrech vom Burger gehüpft. Zum Glück konnte das sehr fähige Personal den kleinen Racker einfangen und vor meinen Augen in seine Einzelteile zerlegen. Super Sache!

Es heißt das Outbax schließt ende November 🤔? und wir haben mit Freunden entschieden dort essen zu gehen. Das Restaurant lässt australisch anmuten, auch wenn es etwas, im Vergleich zu den Restaurants in Down Under, aus der Zeit gefallen ist. Der Service war gut, wenn auch sehr gestresst. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, auch wenn der Reis zum Barramundi zu trocken war. Was uns gestört hat, das die Tischreservierungen zu eng getacktet sind und wir ein Turboessen hinlegen mussten. Bei allem Verständnis das man vor einer gewünschten Schließung noch viel mitnehmen möchte, uns hat es sehr gestört.

Wir waren hier mit unseren Kindern und Enkelkindern zum Essen. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen, uns wurde ein Tisch in der oberen Etage zugewiesen. Die Speisekarte hat für jeden, Kinder oder Veganer, eine große Auswahl. Wir hatten eine tolle sehr aufmerksame Bedienung und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Essen und frisch gezapftes australisches Bier waren sehr gut. Vielen lieben Dank

Nach allem was ich gehört hatte, musste ich doch auch einmal dort hin. Das Restaurant an sich ist wirklich nett gemacht, sehr gemütlich und einladend. Die Speisekarte vor Ort sehr unübersichtlich, doch hatte ich mich zuvor online schon vorbereitet. Vorspeisen sind, bis auf die Suppe, nicht empfehlenswert. Gefrorene Scampis, aufgetaut, warm gemacht und gewürzt. Muss man für 13€ nicht haben. Die Fleischplatten und auch Surf und Turf Teller schon fast eine Frechheit für den Preis. Känguru Stückchen am ‚Zahnstocher‘, Strauss auch super klein ( bei Aldi gefroren zwei gute Steaks, hier so für den hohlen Zahn. Krokodil gab es gar nicht, und da hatte ich mich am meisten drauf gefreut. Das Gemüse, Kürbis-Zucchini, ohne Kürbis, dafür mit Paprika, ohne Ankündigung und fad. Nichts was ich jemals in Australien bekommen habe. Die Ofenkartoffel war leider auch nicht gut. Schade. Fast 40€ für den Teller und es schmeckt so naja und man ist nicht wirklich satt. Hinzu kommt, das die Bedienung eine Katastrophe war. Keiner kannte sich mit Wein aus, die Getränke kamen 1 Stunde nach Ankunft. Das Essen braucht noch einmal so lang. 4 Stunden dort verbracht, und davon 3 Stunden mit warten. Bezahlen am Tisch ist auch nicht gewünscht, also steht man dann Schlange um zu bezahlen. Ich dachte, schade das er schließt, aber nun verstehe ich es sogar. Das hat sicher nicht nur mit Personalmangel zu tun, es waren viele Kellner und trotzdem totales Chaos. Oder gerade deshalb? Ich kann es nicht weiter empfehlen… hat auch nicht sehr viel mit Australien zutun. Rote Beete für den Burger anbieten haut es nicht raus.

Als ich gehört habe, dass der Besitzer des Outbax Spirits aufhört, habe ich direkt einen Tisch reserviert, weil ich schon lange einmal dort essen wollte. Da wir leider etwas weiter weg wohnen, hatten wir es noch nicht geschafft. Das einzigartige Ambiente war auf Fotos schon sehr ansprechend und hat uns auch nicht enttäuscht. Wir wurden direkt vom Besitzer begrüßt und vom Personal an unseren Tisch geführt. Unsere Bestellung wurde rasch aufgenommen, Vorspeise plus Getränke und Extras wurde uns auch sehr schnell serviert. Und auch der Hauptgang hat nicht lange auf sich warten lassen. 4 verschiedene Kellner haben sich zwiechendurch um unser wohl gekümmert. Wir waren sehr begeistert. Auch das Essen, wir hatte Burger, war voll und ganz zufriedenstellend. Große Portion, mit der wir alle zu kämpfen hatten, es war wirklich sehr lecker. :) Wir wünschen den Betreiber alles gute für seine Zukunft und drücken dem Personal und den Gästen die Daumen, dass das Outbax Spirit in dem Stil weitergeführt wird, wie bisher. Dann kommen wir ganz sicher auch bald wieder. 😊🙏🏻
