OutbaX Spirit in Hannover

We visited this restaurant again after years and were thrilled. The quality of the meat is still outstanding, and the service is outstanding! We'll be happy to come back.

My first visit to Outbax was excellent! I'm vegan and had a vegan burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were absolutely amazing; I've never had such good (crispy!) fries anywhere else. The burger was good, especially for a restaurant focused on meat dishes. I lose one star for the prices. I find them a bit high. (Burger & 2 drinks = €30 with tip)

I had crocodile and kangaroo au gratin with blue cheese. It was excellent. The service was great and the ambiance was wonderful.

A wonderful, cozy Australian restaurant with very good food. Excellent service is also provided. I've been there twice in a row and had something vegetarian, while my companion had the full meat platter the second time, and we were both very impressed.

I ordered food specifically for 6:45 PM. It was delivered an hour later. The food was completely covered in oil.

The outbax Spirit is located in an old half-timbered house with a really cool courtyard. The ambiance inside was great. The service staff were very friendly. And now: the food. We knew we'd have to spend a little more, but the quality was superb. We'll be back.

Very tasty, unfortunately the kangaroo was a bit tough, which I'm used to. Still, very tasty food! Nice service! The prices were also perfectly reasonable.

Nice experience, delicious food and a great place to bring children.

Incredibly lovingly designed location, wonderfully friendly staff, superbly delicious food, and something completely different on the menu. While ostrich, kangaroo, and crocodile filled our plates, we sat outside in a very green and cozy beer garden. The atmosphere and the evening were so beautiful that we completely lost track of time and were the last ones to pay our bills shortly before midnight. Highly recommended! :)

The "hottest Aussie chili burger in town" is a real treat. Very nicely presented and really hot. (Not for beginners!) You can clearly taste the habanero, and the grilled pineapple slice in the burger goes well with it. The house-brewed beer is okay, but they forgot the glass of milk, which they kindly provided upon request. The certificate looks great and comes with a first name, date, signature, and stamp.

Anyone who likes to try something different is in good hands here. I spent the evening there yesterday with three other guests. We all felt very comfortable; everyone found something to their taste and was satisfied. The slightly higher, but in my opinion justified, prices are probably due to the unusual selection of meats, such as crocodile, kangaroo, and ostrich. You do have to pay a little more for good meat these days, but then it remains something special, as it should be. But even for those with less adventurous palates, there is something on the menu. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very cozy... Thank you for a lovely evening! We will definitely be back.

We decided on catering from OutbaX Spirit for the confirmation. The planning conversation was very professional, helpful and extremely pleasant. The implementation was perfect: excellent food - despite it being delivered away without any compromises and as good as in the restaurant! In addition, punctual, reliable delivery and good accessibility for inquiries. The special attention due to a food allergy, which had to be taken into account, should also be emphasized. We had a wonderful evening at this Australian steak restaurant. We ordered a rump steak and a mixed meat platter with different types - at our request, everything was served together on one plate. As side dishes there were deliciously prepared vegetables, sweet potato and pumpkin puree as well as baked potatoes - perfectly balanced and tasted excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection: beautifully seared on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside - exactly how a good steak should be. The dessert – ice cream with fresh fruit – was also a delight. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendly service: attentive, warm and open to special requests. You really feel welcome here. We were also impressed by the ambience. The interior is divided into smaller areas with individual tables so that you can dine in a quiet, almost private atmosphere - ideal for a relaxed dinner. For us it was a completely successful experience. We recommend this restaurant without reservation and will definitely come back!

The ambience is Australian without being too cluttered or intrusive. The staff is friendly, fast, attentive and humorous. The selection at brunch is huge. The taste and quality of the food is great. Always worth a visit. We have enjoyed going to Outbaxx for years. Even after the change of ownership. Luckily nothing has changed here. The food is good. We usually stick with the large selection of burgers, all of which are also available as a veggie version. Before that, home-baked bread, followed by a ginger schnapps. The service is always extremely nice. And we also like the atmosphere in the half-timbered house or in the large beer garden. There is even a little surprise for the birthday children. So always happy.

I've always wanted to go to OutbaX and yesterday it finally happened. The building with its individual seating niches creates a great atmosphere. The food and service were great (instead of being sold more, we were actually told that the traditional bread was available anyway and that we didn't necessarily need the starter). I would also like to emphasize the child-friendliness: starting with the children's menu as a coloring and puzzle book, to the extra glasses and stools in the toilet. It was a lovely evening for us!

We were at OutbaX once when we were about 12 years old and have now tried it again in January 2025. The result remained the same. Service and ambience good, but the food, oh well. As is well known, tastes can be debated, so what I write is certainly subjective. One sentence that describes everything for me is: quantity instead of quality. We had the starter plate for around 24 euros, the ribs and a spicy burger. The appetizer plate is visually somewhat OK, but the taste is simply flat. Neither the pumpkin soup nor the rest provides a taste experience. Considering the price, I expect a more refined taste here and not something so flat. There was a lot of ribs, but it wasn't visually appealing on the plate. Furthermore, the breading, or whatever was on the outside, wasn't crisp and crunchy, but rather mushy, like it came from the steamer or warming oven. In our opinion it was also completely over-seasoned. You needed water, water, water. The burger was a little better, but here too, the sauce was more flat than delicate in taste. If you like large portions, like in the country inn, with the taste of ready-made sauce, this is the place for you. Anyone who values ​​sophisticated, elegant cuisine with a fine, differentiated taste is probably wrong. We won't be coming back for a while. In terms of price, OutbaX is similar to El Chileno in Bothfeld, but the difference is like night and day. One is Langasthof, while El Chileno is star cuisine. For us in Hanover that means El Chileno and Tomo Sushi remain our favorites and for beef the Block House is number 1.

Unfortunately we had a place in the tent despite the heat mushrooms, it was cold fortunately we were able to go to the restaurant later. We ordered the same dish, unfortunately the portions on the plates were different sizes, hence the 4 stars. Good taste, friendly service.

Our first visit was super positive. Very friendly staff who offered us the most beautiful place. Very beautiful old half-timbered house where every niche is used perfectly. The selection of dishes is great. Large selection of burgers. We had an ostrich and a kangaroo burger, as well as curls which were super crispy and delicious. Various sauces included for free (ketchup, mayo, BBQ...). Both types of meat were really tasty and tender. The free starter was freshly baked bush bread with 2 dips. So delicious. We chose a non-alcoholic beer. It was super refreshing and special. Going to the toilet must also be mentioned!! Very clean and the little ones were also taken into consideration. The women and men had toilet attachments for the little ones! 👍🏻 Really great!!!! The staff was regularly at the table, asked nicely and then withdrew again. It was just a lovely evening - we'll be back.

We had dinner here today. We had two burgers and the ostrich fillet. The fillet was extremely tender and really very tasty. Both burgers had delicious and high-quality toppings, and you could tell that someone put a lot of effort into the selection. All in all a great evening. Highly recommended.

Bin echt positiv überrascht. Habe schon seit Jahren von diesem Restaurant gehört aber es gemieden, weil ich kein Fleischesser bin aber heute war ich dort mit Familie und alles was dort heute im Brunch serviert wurde, war super lecker. Man konnte auch rausschmecken, dass dieses Restaurant mit guten Produkten kocht. Ich werde dort auf jeden Fall nochmal hingehen.

If you want to try good burgers or exotic meat (crocodile, kangaroo, camel), you are sure to find something tasty here. The ambience is decorated in a way that, at least to me, exuded "a touch of Australia". The service is friendly, but can also call customers' names loudly if necessary. There is also seating in the garden. I can't say anything about the more exotic dishes because I ate a beef burger. My colleagues who dared said everything was delicious (the crocodile supposedly tastes like chicken). The prices are tough; But the citizens are reasonably priced compared to the class and the taste - I've already tried many. The restaurant is definitely worth recommending.

We were there with 8 people plus a baby after a funeral because the deceased was an Australia fan. First of all, 5 stars for opening especially for us. This is not a given. We were greeted very warmly and the service was very friendly, relaxed and funny the entire time. We felt very comfortable. The food is very good. We had fantastic burgers and another main course with different types of meat. Everything was very tasty and the portions were more than sufficient. At the end we talked to the extremely friendly owner about the history of the shop. He learned there himself and took over the shop from the former owner last year to prevent a tapas shop from moving in there. He said himself that it took a lot of courage and that really impressed us. Yes, the prices may not be like those at the chip shop around the corner. When he told us that the kilo of meat had risen from 38 euros to 51 euros, we could understand that. So before you start making noises about it, just talk to the people on site. Outbax can compete with any other burger shop and if you like, you can also get unusual types of meat. We really enjoyed it and we will definitely come again. Thank you!!!

A nice restaurant with delicious food and nice staff. The waiting times were on the high side, but there was a lot going on, so that can happen. ;) The selection of dishes was good, it was difficult to decide. But that's not meant in a negative way. Overall a very nice experience.

Came across this restaurant by chance and were really impressed after visiting. Friendly owner, good service and the burgers are simply excellent. The Pavlova dessert is also recommended (although surprisingly rich). We can only recommend the OutbaX Spirit and will come back.

Everything was great, we'll be back

Nice idea with a lot of room for improvement. The atmosphere inside is nice and makes you want to go on vacation. Beer garden atmosphere outside, pleasant to linger. After the friendly greeting, it took 15 minutes until we received the menu (which should be renewed as it was very worn out) and a total of 40 minutes until the first drinks arrived. Bread and dip (usually given as a welcome) were available upon request. Overall, the service was very friendly and helpful, but as described, a bit overwhelmed. The food was quite expensive but unfortunately only OK. The meat was partially overcooked and too dry, the vegetables (there is only a mix of varieties) tasted very soft and boring. If you want to eat ostrich, crocodile and kangaroo you can do so here, but there are no culinary highlights here.

Anyone looking for a good steakhouse at an attractive price. The meat dishes are great. Was my 2nd visit. So far I've had the prawns, kangaroo and ostrich (see pictures) and they're really exceptionally good. The rest is solidly crafted, but nothing special. Vegetables fresh, crunchy, good roasted aromas. Service was very friendly, sometimes a bit inattentive, but not on purpose. :) Perfect if you want to spend a casual evening with good, hand-crafted, rustic food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Come again.
