Very good food and very good service

I'm here 2-3 times a year. Can't complain: summer days in the quiet garden, otherwise inside. Service always friendly. Pizza Napoletana is without mozzarella, but tastes good and fresh! Tapped Krombacher Pilsener. However, please reconsider the concept of disposable paper tablecloths! What a waste production! Thats not contemporary.

To be completely honest : when I see the Italian restaurant with 3.7 I don’t go but this restaurant does not deserve such an small number since the food was great! We had a great dinner and food !

I just really like Osteria number one. Great and large garden - it's cool there when it's hot and you can easily survive the occasional shower under the roof. Lots of space inside. The classic Italian food is absolutely solid, and sometimes very good. The prices charged are now absolutely acceptable, even almost cheap. Because others have added significantly more in view of inflation. The service is consistently authentically Italian, a rarity. Overall: A reliable classic that is indispensable. Full recommendation!

Beautiful indoor garden, although a bit old, but has charm. Friendly staff, I was there with guests, 3 different dishes. My pizza tonno was good, a bit soft on the inside, but combined with the edge it evened out. My guests thought the dish was okay, but had had better tasting Italian pasta. Therefore you rating.

A classic of Italian cuisine in Berlin. The daily menu is small but nice, sometimes surprising. The courtyard garden is great in summer, but the pavement at the front is inviting in the evening without rushing traffic.

My partner and I wanted to spend a nice evening in the restaurant. Instead of two main courses, we opted for a bottle of wine and several starters to share, which the older waiter was not happy with. He let us feel his displeasure throughout the evening, slamming the plates on the table and rolling his eyes as he passed by. We felt very uncomfortable and unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant…

There is a nice summer garden, which has some kind of natural cooling system, which makes it a good choice during hot days. Though the food is quite pricy and has dissapointed with the taste and the way it was served. I would recommend it only for drinks and bruschetta.

The food and the summer garden are beautiful. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. On the first visit we were forgotten and waited 1 hour for our food. Today at the second meal the main course came before the starter. And then we unfortunately discovered that a receipt was stuck to our pizza base. We informed the waitress, but unfortunately received no feedback or compensation.

Simply terrible. Came with the family to celebrate something and almost all of the glasses were dirty with lipstick. One even had a crack. When asked to refill the contents, not only was the water from one glass simply thrown away, but the non-alcoholic beer was also replaced with normal beer. It wasn't that bad, but you have to imagine what this mistake would have caused an alcoholic! Finally, the food: the tuna salad is an absolute disgrace for this price. Just lettuce leaves, three sliced ​​cherry tomatoes, a few slices of celery and the tuna. No onions, no dressing. The pizza drowned in oil and the evening wasn't as nice as it could have been. The food was good, but there are just a lot of good Italians in Berlin, where everything is just right, food + service + ambience, where the overall picture is right and that's what counts! Service, an unfriendly, snobbish waiter, where you have the feeling that you almost have to apologize for ordering and being served there. SORRY, there is just way too much choice in Berlin, with good food and friendly service, so I don't have to bother with a semolina gram just because of the name of the restaurant. Gone are the days of just having a restaurant in a hip area, with food, at these prices, I can get everything at many restaurants in Berlin!

Very nice waiter.....pasta was really very Aldente but I didn't want to wait another 50 minutes for the food/new food. There was a free glass of wine to wash down the pasta as well as a dessert from the kitchen. It was OK...

I rarely give bad reviews, but I'll make an exception here. The service was chaotic and overwhelmed. While ordering, the waitress suddenly went to the counter to serve another table. After 5 minutes she came with the orders that had already been placed and then rushed to ask about the orders that had not yet been placed. An extra request (additional cheese on a pizza) was forgotten. When the pizza came, when asked, they said it had cheese on it. He obviously wasn't and wasn't accounted for. Drink orders often came late and sometimes not at all. We were able to place our food order after about an hour, and the food came again at least 45 minutes later (starters and main courses at the same time). The tone of the waitress was inappropriately gruff and hasty. You had the feeling all the time that you were doing something wrong. My pizza was really bad. Dry, lightly topped and had probably waited a long time to be brought to our table. Any cheap frozen pizza would have made me happier in comparison. The salad has also been mentioned by other reviewers: only arugula, a few lost tomatoes, vinegar and oil upon request, no other dressings "in summer". The prices were far too high for the service and quality. I won't eat there again and would advise others not to.

It started with the online reservation, which worked without any problems. The service was very friendly and the white wine recommendation was very good. My buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes tasted delicious and the pasta with summer truffles was the highlight for me. For me, the food and ambience were a complete success. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside due to the weather, but that's nobody's fault.

The inner garden is nice, but if you want to try proper Italian food, this is definitely not the place. Also the service can be messy and slow. Yesterday we had to wait 50 minutes just for antipasti.

The Osteria from before no longer exists! As a salad, you are offered a green lettuce with about three small tomatoes that have not been stripped of the greens. Not a sophisticated dressing, but simply none at all! The pizzas are cold and taste bland. Only the prices have changed with the times. And the waiter wasn't even interested in our opinion. He seems to be used to not getting a tip and rightly so. This management has definitely seen us for the last time.

The garden is of course very beautiful. We had attentive and friendly service. The wine "Negroamaro" is very drinkable and recommended. Unfortunately, the pizzas were the dullest thing we've seen in a long time. I think the owner has changed here. The cuisine here used to be high quality. I think they still draw on the good reputation of earlier days.

Taken a seat in the courtyard. Despite visual contact with the waiter, no card was brought. Other waiters also didn't bother to bring a menu. After 15 minutes we left disappointed.

Che vergogna! If you love italian food and know how italian food should look like and taste, then stay away from this restaurant. Food was bland, boring, tasteless, and far away from the amazing colours & flavours you would expect to see in Italy. Service staff were ok. The best thing about the place is the outdoor space/beer garten. I do not recommend and won't be back.

Very nice Italian restaurant. We ordered pizza and were very satisfied. Despite being busy, the service was attentive and friendly. Even though we were the last ones at some point, they still made us feel welcome so that we could end our evening in peace.

I have to agree with the many comments about one of the waiters (a slightly older, bald man). I was accompanied by a lady. This gentleman constantly wanted to be involved in our conversations. And flirts with her in the most unpleasant way (in my presence). In addition, this waiter made additional snarky comments about my order. Something like: "pff why don't you drink Coke Zero?" Thoroughly unpleasant. The waiter was talking so loudly and flirting that we couldn't even tell them that a homeless person had just dipped into our food and stolen utensils on the table. Cannot recommend this restaurant. Also really expensive for tiny portions and a long waiting time

Not recommended! When we placed several different orders, the waiter said four times that we no longer had them in stock (e.g. olives). Then a cola was served that was long expired. And at the end a 0.2l wine was served, even though a 0.1l wine was ordered. It can happen, but there is no apology from the restaurant, just the waiter saying he couldn't book it back. This isn't a customer problem, it's a restaurant problem. Overall very disappointing and not recommended. By the way, the food wasn't even mediocre either. Unfortunately, at least one star has to be given, but they don't deserve one! This has to get better.

If you are traveling with small children, this place is a dream when the weather is good! The waiters or waitresses may sometimes be stressed because of the rush. In the end everything is right! Delicious food, wonderful ambience. Prices are reasonable, the wine is rather expensive. 2023: Ten of us have been sitting here for 1.5 hours and haven't had anything to eat yet. Ordered pizza, nothing else.

Finally the Osteria is back as it was two years ago, Gianni, the authentic, attentive waiter is back, the food is fantastic, the whole shop is very authentic. Great selection of very good dishes. Come back more often now.

Absolutely 5 stars restaurant! The place improved the kitchen and service in the last few months! Gianni is so attentive and a great waiter. Such a sweet place for coming with friends or your partner! Romantic atmosphere, great music in the background! Perfect to staring at your partner eyes! We tried the food and was espetacular: amazing fish, great salad and yummy rabbit, also drinks and wine such a good selection! Is like being in Italy! I would definitely recommend to my friends and I am coming back soon again! Loved!

If you want to wait 2 hours for a mediocre and overpriced pasta or pizza and be served by a very unfriendly waiter, then Osteria Numero 1 is the right place. Osteria lives only from a past reputation, but this reputation no longer has anything to do with the present. I wrote a more critical review a few months ago after some changes were made to the restaurant and I was very disappointed as I have been visiting the restaurant for quite a long time. I am now revising this criticism and am very pleased to be able to say that Osteria No. 1 has regained its old quality, and in some cases it has even become better than before. The pizza has the good dough again; with the beautiful marbling on the bottom. The pasta in particular has also improved in quality. So there are new dishes with delicious variations on the daily menu that are really good (I had tagliatelle with branzino the past few days; really delicious). There are also new antipasti, which are also well made (fried anchovies, grilled scampis…) Criticism: Unfortunately, fish is only available on Fridays, but then it is extremely fresh. If you don't mind a meatier selection, you can also enjoy it on other days of the week (the lasagne, for example, is also recommended). Unfortunately, the signature white tablecloths were also removed and replaced with stereotypical Italian red checkered tablecloths. In summary, that's all worth accepting for better quality and good food. Incidentally, the prices have fallen despite the VAT increase (previously €18.90 for Vongole, now €16.90). It's great that the kitchen has found itself again and gained even more. I will gladly come again!

Avevo bisogno di un po' di confort food italiano dopo svariati giorni a Berlino. Ho trovato questo ristorantino il cui ambiente è accogliente, ma il personale lo è ancora di più. Il cibo è buono (ed è soprattutto ITALIANO) con porzioni abbondanti.

Leider hat der Besitzer gewechselt. Nach 30 Jahren heißt es leider bye-bye. Hier kann man nur noch mittelmäßige Qualität zu überhöhten Preisen bei minderwertigem Service konsumieren. Sehr schade!

Das Positive Vorweg. Man kann dort wunderbar sitzen, entweder im Restaurant oder im Innenhof unter alten Bäumen. Da ist es wirklich sehr schön. Ich fand die Bedienung sehr wortkark. Er hat nur das Nötigste geredet. Obwohl das ja beispielsweise bei der Begrüßung oder beim Essen oft positiv beiträgt. Es wurde nicht gefragt, wie das Essen war..., beispielsweise. Nun zum Essen bzw zu der Bestellung. Den Anfang machte Bruschetta. Das Brot und auch die Tomaten, vorallem die Tomaten waren von schlechter Qualität. Am Stielansatz grün- gelblich, kein Aroma. Dabei bekommt man auch in Berlin hervorragende Qualitäten von Tomaten zu kaufen. Erst recht sollte ein italienisches Restaurant auf die Qualität seiner Tomaten schon acht geben. Dann wurde von meiner Begleitung ein Bier bestellt. Es wurde ohne Hinweis oder Nachfrage ein großes Bier gebracht. Nicht jeder mag ein großes Bier trinken. Vielleicht ist es üblich, dass nur große Biere im Innenhof ausgeschenkt werden, aber dann sollte man darauf hinweisen. Des weiteren hatte ich dann Caponata al forno. Das Gericht war lauwarm. Es hätte besser geschmeckt, wäre es warm gewesen. Der Wein zum Essen wurde erst nach erneutem Hinweis gebracht. Die Pizza war als einziges super, die pasta war so al dente, dass sie noch sehr körnig war. Sie hätte durchaus noch etwas Zeit im Topf gebraucht. Ich habe ca 2/3 der Pasta stehen lassen. Es wurde nicht nachgefragt, was mit dem Essen war. Es war sehr sehr schade. Gern wäre ich wieder gekommen. Es ist im Innenhof wirklich toll. Aber ich glaube, der Kellner hat kein Interesse an uns gezeigt.

Hallo, wir haben heute Abend in dem Innenhof des Restaurant gegessen. Die Servicekraft war nicht besonders kundenorientiert. Getränke, Speisen wurden einfach auf den Tisch hingestellt ohne zu fragen, welches Gericht zu wem gehört… Was ich aber sehr schade fand, dass die Qualität des Essens sehr nachgelassen hat. Es gab generell nur 3 oder 4 Speisen auf der Karte zur Auswahl. Kein Fisch! Alles nur Pizza oder Pasta. Ich hatte selbst Das Perlhuhn bestellt… naja das war einfach trocken und nicht so toll. Bei der Beilage hätte ich 1-2 Kartoffeln vermisst… Die 23€ für die Speise sind auf keinen Fall Wert dafür. Alles in einem - sehr schade! Das war früher mal eine gute Adresse, wo man gute italienische Küche bekommen konnte.

Der Innenhof des Restaurants in Kreuzberg ist sehr schön um dort zu Speisen. Das Essen und alles sehr traditionell. Ich werde bei Gelegenheit wieder kommen.

Die Pizza schmeckt, die Pasta ok. Preis Leistung nicht besonders. Es dauert alles etwas länger. Die Kellner könnten noch etwas geschult werden.... der Biergarten ist sehr hübsch!

Great location and pizza was divine. Best we have had in a while. However the service was as bad as other reviews have stated. The waiter was friendly but at the same time very direct, also clearly understaffed for the amount of customers. We arrived at about 1730 and at that time things were still operating smoothly. But with more customers things turned more chaotic. Panna cotta also wasn't great but tiramisu was decent. Overall a decent food option for the area if you can be bothered with below average service, likely worth it on a sunny day in the summer garden

Obwohl einiges zu kritisieren ist, wie z.B. zu lange Wartezeit oder falsche Angabe auf der Speisekarte, war der Kellner sehr bemüht, diese Defizite wieder wett zu machen. Das hat uns sehr gefallen.

Wir waren im Rahmen einer Familienfeier dort und hatten vier Kinder dabei, drei davon im Schulalter, das vierte ein Kleinkind. Dank des freundlichen Wetters konnten wir draußen sitzen und die Kinder betätigten sich in Sichtweite im Sandkasten, während wir die Bestellungen abgeben und uns unterhalten konnten. Wir wurden rasch bedient und alle Gerichte, die wir bestellt hatten, schmeckten ausgezeichnet! Auch die Getränke wurden flott serviert und es gab genügend Auswahl auch für die Kinder!

It’s over. Kenne das Lokal seit 25 Jahren. War immer etwas teurer (für Berlin) aber dafür lecker. Aber diesmal wirklich schlecht. Wir waren zu 6. Einmal die Tageskarte rauf und runter gegessen. Pasta aus der Tüte und Melanzane ohne Geschmack, Pizza mit schlechter Salami.. Ein Graus. Bye Bye Osteria - et war schön jewesen.

Knusper, knusper, Knäuschen, wer knuspert an mein’m Pizza-Häuschen? Diese crunchigen Geräusche bei einer Pizza? Um es vorweg zu nehmen, eine schlichte Pizza Margherita kann einen kulinarische Ekstase bescheren oder wie heute erlebt, einem Fauxpas, der, wenn so unterhalb Roms kredenzt, für den Pizzaioli betoniert im Hafenbecken tragisch enden könnte. Dieses undefinierbare, völlig geschmacksneutrale Etwas als „Pizza“ Bufala zu betiteln, läßt mich… nun ja, es gibt ja traditionelle Pizzen nach römischer (gänzlich flach) oder neapolitanischer Art (mit leicht knusprigen hohem Rand und Back-Marmorierung am Boden) oder die grausigen amerikanischen Pizzatorten mit Wurstl und Pommes drauf. Aber diese? Welches Land/Region war hier prägendes Vorbild? Da ich Tiefkühlpizzen wegen ihrer chemischen Ingredienzen kategorisch verweigere, kann ich auch hier keinen Vergleich ziehen. Selbst meine erste Selbstgemachte, mit viel zuviel frischer Hefe, als 250Grad-Ofenpizza(kuchen) schmeckte nicht schlechter brezelig. Als pizzaähnliches Touristen-Gebäck, senza sale oder Leibniz-Keks gigante con Ketchup, könnte eine kompromittierende Beschreibung dessen lauten. Schade, die Ambiente und der Service waren sehr gut.

Tolle Location im Sommer. Im Garten mit begrünten Wänden und durch Wasserberieselung gekühlt. Tische unter einem großen Sonnensegel...gute italienische Küche. Freundlicher, italienischer Service. Sehr gern wieder.

Nach und nach etwas zu teuer, besonders der Vino

Ich habe gestern dort meinen Geburtstag dort mit 19 Leuten gefeiert - der Service, das Essen, die Stimmung, alles war perfekt. Wir saßen im Innenhof, die Stimmung war bezaubernd. Die 19 Gerichte kamen alle gleichzeitig und es war super lecker. Danke, nächstes Jahr wieder!

Zu später Stund ohne Reservierung wurden wir köstlich bewirtet, die Antipasti sind superlecker und der Wein dazu hervorragend! Toller Service- italienisches feeling.

Die Bedienung ist nett , essen leider nur mittelmäßig . Das Ambiente macht auf gehobenen Italiener aber der Parmesan war nicht frisch und die Pfifferlinge aus dem Glas. Finde ich nicht in Ordnung bei einer 16 Euro Pasta . Hat leider sehr fad geschmeckt :/ würde nicht wieder kommen .

Das Essen kam sehr spät... wir durften als größere Gruppe nicht mehr als 10 Pizzen bestellen und sollten mehrere gleiche Gerichte bestellen( wurde beim reservieren nicht erwähnt). Der Service war nicht überragend und das Essen war okay. Eine Person musste alleine essen da das Essen so spät kam ( über 1h)

Ich empfehle nicht in einer großen Gruppe essen zu gehen. 10 Pizzen durften bestellt werden, bei einer Gruppe von 21 Personen. Gerichte sollten jeweils nicht zu vielfältig sein. Eine Person musste bis zu über 1h Stunde warten und musste alleine Essen. Essen war auch nicht spektakulär. Mitarbeiter raucht in Küche. Der Kellner hat ins Getränk gefasst, um etwas rauszuholen und hat es trotzdem serviert. Öl wurde über den Tisch geschüttet. Kellner Fred, war aber sehr nett und stets freundlich.
