Food was great, service still needs improvement

We sat outside at a very nice table. Although the tables are located on a traffic-calmed street, cars still drive by. I didn't find it particularly disturbing. Since both the large outdoor and indoor areas were very busy, service took a bit longer. Overall, though, it was a really nice meal with excellent food.

I was in a restaurant yesterday to celebrate my birthday and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered grilled salmon with potatoes and spinach, unfortunately everything was so over-salted and fatty that it was barely edible. The same went for my husband's pork medallions. I haven't been to this restaurant for a long time and I certainly won't be going back. I cannot recommend it at all!!!!

The food was truly delicious, both the main course and the starters. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Everything took a long time and was not very welcoming.

The restaurant is highly recommended. The ambiance is unobtrusive and pleasant, and the service is just as unobtrusive and prompt. As always, the food is a matter of personal taste, but in my opinion, it's delicious.

We reserved a table in advance (but it wasn't necessary). You can sit inside or outside. Great service, attractive decor. The portions were large enough to fill us up. We enjoyed our meal. I find the drink prices quite expensive (although that's probably normal).

A few days ago, four of us (two couples) had dinner at Osteria Salvatore. We sat outside – the atmosphere was very pleasant. Despite the packed house and the obvious high stress on the staff, the service was consistently friendly and attentive. We tried various wines, and our meal included octopus, carpaccio, and pizza Calabrese – everything was excellently prepared and delicious! A real insider tip in Halle for lovers of Italian cuisine. We'd love to come back!

Reservations are recommended, but if you arrive at 5:30 p.m., you'll get a great outdoor spot! An authentic restaurant run with a lot of heart. A wine shop across the street is also part of the package. ---- The food is authentic and delicious. I simply recommend the appetizers (Caprese, Bruschetta, Vitello Tonnato) and a pizza to share, as well as the Lugano white wine. <3 All good and grazie!!!

It took about an hour to prepare a very small salad and one pizza margarita!

I dined here several times with a fellow board member. We were seated immediately and served promptly, even though the restaurant had just opened. Great menu, superb service! Highly recommended. Top-notch quality.

My pizza was delicious and my extra request was naturally taken into account. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right for me. My husband added more seasoning to the noodles, which I don't think is bad at all... Gladly again

We were here for the third time now. I can only rave about the place. Very friendly and courteous waiters, the atmosphere outside and inside is very pleasant. The food was very tasty. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again. Can only warmly recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately you can't give 4.5 stars The location has a great flair due to its regionality. The staff is polite. The food is good but lacks the final pizzazz for 5 stars. If fresh pasta had been used and not drowned in sauce and then torn a little nicer, I would have given it 5 stars.

We were invited here for dinner. At first we thought pizza and pasta were ok...but no, it was the BEST tuna pizza I've ever eaten. Even my very spoiled husband had nothing to complain about with his salami pizza. Thank you for that, thank you for the nice and quick service. We will see each other again very soon.

The best Italian restaurant in Halle!!!

We have been coming to Osteria da Salvatore for a long time now, and every time we look forward to a special culinary experience. Whenever we're in town, this restaurant is our first choice - our favorite Italian restaurant, so to speak. Everything here tastes exceptionally good, and you can tell that the cooking is done with a lot of love and high-quality ingredients. We were particularly impressed by the Gouda bread with honey – a delicious combination that we enjoy every time we visit. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. Added to this is the always attentive and friendly service, which makes your stay even more pleasant. We're even happy to accept our journey of around 30 minutes because it's worth it every time. We are completely satisfied here and will be happy to come back in the future. Absolute recommendation!

Went there a little while ago for dinner before going to the concert. Very friendly service. The restaurant is small but really very cozy. The dishes were all very tasty. Price-performance ratio is perfect for me. Feel free to try it out yourself. I would love to come there again.

Since I came to Halle in 2010, Salvatore has been one of my favorite restaurants. To be honest, I don't know where else I would go out to eat, invite guests or meet with colleagues and doctoral students. For me everything is right here.

The best grilled calamari in Halle. Good Italian cuisine. Gino is always attentive and helpful. Very busy, so make reservations. It's worth it...

Wir waren mit den Kindern da. Sofort hat man uns Kinderstühle gebracht und angeboten das Gläschen warm zu machen. Pizza 🍕 war sehr lecker und auch alles andere. Espresso ☕️ zum Abschluss hat das gesamte abgerundet. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und haben rund 20€ / Person bezahlt inklusive der Getränke

The atmosphere outside is very nice, the waiters are very nice, and the food is definitely better than other Italian restaurants in Halle. The risotto in particular is worth highlighting, nice Al Dente / crunchy and tasty

Basically a nice restaurant with friendly service. However, the waiter didn't accept my change in the dish, so I ended up getting my pizza with mushrooms. But that was the smallest problem. The pizza felt like a “La Mia Grande” Margherita from Rewe which was then topped with salami and ham from “JA”. I really expected more from an Italian restaurant. The other dishes seemed ok. I definitely won't come back for pizza.

On our late visit the food and service from the lovely Carlo was simply wonderful at this lovely establishment. I haven't had such good pasta in a long time, and the prices for the dishes and drinks are absolutely justified. We sat outside and the ambience was outstanding. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food or simply feels hungry.

It was a relatively spontaneous visit shortly before the store closed. Nevertheless, we sat outside in a pleasant atmosphere and ate very tasty pizza and pasta. At the end there was an Aperol to go from Carlo himself :) Looking forward to the next time!

Pasta unfortunately disappointing. Sweet tomato sauce with cheap Arctic shrimp including intestines. We had to wait almost 40 minutes for our drinks and asked several times if we could order... Eating took just as long again. Pizza was quite good, but a very tiring evening with a hungry child!

A very large selection of pasta, pizza and especially grappa (6 different ones). The fact that it was full on any Thursday and even had to turn guests away speaks for itself.

Hier gibt es nicht nur Pizza, sondern eine große Bandbreite an mediterranem Essen. Sehr schön! Das, was auf dem Teller ist, ist reell, aber nicht Sterne-verdächtig. Das will hier aber auch niemand! Der Service schwankt zwischen sehr zuvorkommend bis nichts-sagend. Ja nach dem, wen Du gerade hast! - Was ungünstig ist: die Toiletten sind nur über eine steile Wendeltreppe zu erreichen. Also nichts für Menschen mit Handicap! Aber das lässt sich wohl bautechnisch nicht anders lösen. So isses eben!

As an Italian, Osteria da Salvatore is the place where I feel at home. Both because of the quality of the service and the food. The menu is impressive and contains a selection of the best dishes from all regions of Italy.

Wonderful restaurant, great food and very friendly service

There were eight of us here today. The positive first: the food was tasty to good and the service was nice. The ambience is also appropriate and cozy. That’s it, though. The portions were manageable, the toppings on the pizza were practically non-existent and the pasta was carelessly slapped onto the plate and the crowning glory was the waiting time: we waited over 90 minutes for the food. P.S. If there are only two of you, it seems to go faster

Wir waren zur Weihnachtsfeier dort. Das Essen ist der absolute Hammer. Ich komme aus Jena aber für das Essen würde ich sofort nsch Halle fahren. Die Steaks sind der Knaller schlechthin.

Es war kühl im Gastraum. Bis sich der Kellner bei uns am Tisch hat sehen lassen, vergingen mindestens 20 Minuten- und der Gastraum war nicht voll!! Bis die Getränke kamen dauerte es dann auch wieder... das zog sich durch den ganzen Abend. Das Essen war okay, aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Preislich war es in Ordnung.

Nettes Personal, schönes Ambiente. Wir hatten uns für Nudelgerichte entschieden und waren geschmacklich nicht wirklich begeistert. Da könnte man mehr bieten. Schade, aber der Wein war lecker.
