Orient Food Döner, Schawarma, auch vegan in Potsdam

We spontaneously looked for something to eat and were led here. Based on the good reviews, we decided on a kebab and were not disappointed. Fresh crisp salad, great meat and crispy flatbread. It's become more expensive everywhere, so here too the kebab was €7. Service was very friendly. Can recommend the store.

Orient Food Döner is located right on the corner of Dortustraße and Brandenburger Straße and is therefore a shop that is likely to have quite a lot of tourists and walk-in customers - always not such a good sign. However, the store makes a good impression from the outside. You can sit very well here and there are decent chairs that are a little more comfortable than the benches that are available at the many snack bars on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. The tables are also less worn and were freshly wiped down when I visited. But the store is also totally fine inside. Sure: it's a snack bar and the air inside is accordingly, but everything seems very clean and well-kept and even surprisingly cozy for a kebab shop. The service was very good and friendly. The people there worked quickly, but with a fairly large selection of fried dishes there is only a small deep fryer. This meant that I and my wife had to wait a little longer as our food had to be made one after the other. We were the only ones in the store. If there are a lot of people there at the same time who all want fries, I imagine that would be tiring. But the selection of dishes is decent - there are also some vegetarian dishes and even pizza, if anyone feels like it. I had a mixed vegetarian plate, my wife a classic kebab plate with fries. The fries were okay and very well fried to perfection. According to my wife, the meat tasted very good and looked nice too - perfect browning. The salad went well with both of us. In addition to the salad, I also had couscous, makali, falafel and halloumi - all very tasty. Makali was extra salted, which I thought was good, and there was also a bit of sumac on it, which went well. The falafel were regular falafel but again fried to perfection - crispy but not hard or dry. The sauces were also a big highlight. The hot sauce was slightly spicy (not a given in Germany) and very tasty and the garlic sauce was the best standard garlic sauce I've had in a long time - little mayo, nice consistency and even small pieces of garlic in it. Hummus was also delicious. The price wasn't super cheap, but it wasn't completely overpriced either. Plus the portions were huge. I was more than full afterwards and my wife got so much meat that she didn't finish her portion, even though we came hungry and it tasted good. There's really nothing to complain about here and I'll definitely stop by more often when I'm in the mood for kebab and I'm in the city center.

The food here is great. I have been visiting this restaurant since 2016 and every time I enjoy the food. The service is great and the young employees are respectful and friendly and funny🫶🏻 I think I have a food addiction.😊

The customers are laughed at even though the customers bring money into the store. The workers are arrogant and unpleasant. I do not recommend this store.

So I was way too hungry and decided to try this restaurant, I ordered shawarma and Margarita pizza and honestly the shawarma was great, while ordering shawarma tell them not to add salad because they will just fill the sandwich with lots of veg and you wont be able to taste the actual taste of shawarma, just tell them only chicken, hummos and little spice and other sauces and trust me you’ll love it. Regarding the margarita pizza it was just okay, the quantity of the cheese was good but the tomato sauce was very less which made it dry so yeah overall I had a goof experience and would definitely recommend everyone.

The kebab here is really great! The meat is tender and well seasoned, and the fresh ingredients harmonize perfectly with each other. The sauces in particular are really tasty and round the whole thing off. The bread is also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – exactly how it should be! The service is friendly and quick, and the portions are absolutely fair. If you're looking for a good kebab, you've definitely come to the right place. Will definitely come back!

I've been here 5-6 times now and the kebab here used to be a 10/10 - now it's only a 5/10. But last time the meat wasn't cooked through and was still half raw - unfortunately I couldn't eat the kebab and had to throw it away - a shame. I tried it again, the meat was done, but unfortunately it was already old and dried out. And the kebab has become super small. Had a big kebab and it was smaller than a normal one elsewhere. I understand that everything is getting more expensive right now, but it was really small, hardly any meat on it and way too much salad and sauce.

We spent a few days in Potsdam as part of our summer vacation and tried out oriental food. Great food and really good and above all nice service in a nice atmosphere in Potsdam's pedestrian zone. We'll be happy to come back on our next visit 😀👍

Customer service is a joke... Nobody here speak english. Positions on menu is nothing similar with the thing u get and clearly nobody here want to take your order...

Probably the best döner kebab in Potsdam! I ordered the big döner kebab (#3 on the menu) and it was truly massive. My brother took the döner teller (#7 on the menu) which consisted of a small variety of lettuce, döner, french fries and sauce. We both agreed that my kebab was the better bargain (value for money portion-wise). The kebab was so tasty! It had a lot of meat and the sweet sauce. The regular size is 7 euros while the big size is 8 euros. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to a tourists in particular, since it’s located in a very nice area for walk. (Around 5 minutes away from the Brandenburg Tor in Potsdam.)

Even at 10 p.m., the staff is still motivated and jumps up as soon as you enter the store. Food is wonderful. The hummus and vegetarian items in particular are delicious. The best kebab shop is Potsdam!

All in all great. The ambience was inviting and nice and the service was kind and attentive. The food (doner kebab, salad everything, herbs, garlic, spicy) was very tasty. The meat was extremely flavorful and juicy. The salad was crisp, fresh and flavorful and the bread was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. For me one of the best kebabs in Berlin and the surrounding area.

Schmeckt dort eigentlich sehr gut, Fleisch schon kräftig. Aber negativ Punkt ist das sie dort viel zuviel soße drauf machen, fast nur soße geschmeckt.

Wir haben über Lieferando hier bestellt. Geschmacklich war es ok, haben aber schon bessere Dönerteller gegessen. In der Türkischen Pizza kam ab der hälfte ein Minzgeschmack auf. Der Gedanke, dass da ein Gaugummi drin ist, hat mir den Appetit verdorben. Es waren tatsächlich Minzblätter, aber das passte gar nicht.

El mejor Kebap que he comido desde que estoy en Alemania. La porción es considerable, no te quedarás con hambre. El pan, la carne, y las verduras están buenísimos. Nada que ver con los de España. Podrás sentarte en la terraza despues de visitar los palacios. Al lado de la calle principal. Eso sí, el camarero que me atendió no era especialmente simpático, pero vamos algo normal en Alemania por lo que he visto hasta ahora

Кебаб неплохой: брали очень острый (на самом деле не очень), средне-острый и обычный. Когда готовили, лист шаурмы порвался и замотали в ещё один вместо того, чтобы сделать заново - не очень вкусно есть двойную порцию теста. И внутри не очень равномерна начинка: места, где мяса много и овощей мало и наоборот. Не самая плохая шаурма, хорошо зайдёт, если голодны.

Top Essen, geschmacklich sehr gut! Auch der Salat war frisch und knackig. Wir haben uns das Menü aus dem Angebot bestellt. Wer Hunger hat, die Portionen sind ausreichend groß.

Orient Food Döner überzeugt leider überhaupt nicht. Die Bewertung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf den Schawarma, da ich den Laden nicht mehr betreten werde um etwas anderes zu probieren. Der Schawarma hat 0,0 mit einem Schawarma zutun. Es wird lieblos klassisches Dönergemüse auf Fleisch vom Hähnchenspieß ohne besondere Marinade inkl. trockenem Brot serviert. Das einzige was an "Orient Food" erinnert ist der Humus, welcher extremst sparsam aufgetragen wurde. Mitarbeiter sind freundlich, aber entweder wird genuschelt oder überzogene Witze werden gerissen. Professionel ist anders. Die Preise sind vollkommen überzogen für die Qualität. 16.50€ für 2 Schawarma und einem kleinen Getränk. Gut an dem Laden sind die Lage und die Sitzmöglichkeiten außen & innen. Kann leider nicht annähernd mit Bistros aus Berlin mithalten.

Somos españoles y acudimos por un tour a la ciudad de postdam. Y nos dieron la oportunidad de comer por estas calles. Y quisimos huir un poco de la calle principal. Y elegimos aqui si buscais algo diferente a un durum de los de españa este no es el sitio. Este durum lo podrias comer en cualquier donerkebad de alli incluso hasta mejor. No lo recomiendo.

Wir haben heute einen Döner und einmal Fallafel im Brot genommen. Der Döner hat die Erwartungen voll erfüllt und hunger auf mehr gemacht. Die Fallafel war super denn da fehlt oft was , geschmacklich gesehen. War hier absolut nicht der Fall. Auch Extrawünsche waren wirklich nicht teuer... Wir kommen wieder, wir fanden es super
