A Deeply Disappointing Anniversary Experience As highly praised as this restaurant is, our experience was shockingly disappointing, especially considering this was meant to be a special evening celebrating our wedding anniversary with our son. I had exchanged multiple emails with Mr. Stephen Wagner and even called two weeks in advance to confirm our reservation with the Opelbad staff. We were assured a memorable anniversary dinner and a reserved table. Unfortunately, what we encountered was the complete opposite. Upon arrival, we stood waiting at the front for about ten minutes before I had to actively search for a staff member outside to let them know we had a reservation. They appeared indifferent. We were eventually seated at a dirty, unprepared table, far from the promised setting, and no effort was made to clean it even after we sat down. The service from the two waitresses who checked on us (barely once) made us feel more like a burden than guests. The hospitality quickly deteriorated further. Despite confirming our reservation via email, we were told it wasn’t in the system. Halfway through our meal, the staff returned to tell us they had found it, but that it was made for inside seating. Ironically, the table we had originally reserved (clearly marked with our reservation tag) was occupied by two loud, obnoxious guests, severely impacting the atmosphere of what should’ve been a peaceful, celebratory dinner. When it came to the food, we hoped things would improve. We ordered a bottle of wine and their premium steaks and schnitzel. But again — disappointment. My wife’s Wiener schnitzel was served cold. The highly anticipated white asparagus, which Mr. Wagner had praised, was undercooked and cold as well, far from the quality we were expecting. To make matters worse, toward the end of our meal, the staff rearranged the nearby tables for a walk-in couple, the exact setup I had requested earlier, but was denied due to a supposedly incoming group of 30. This visit was a cascade of failures — poor service, unfulfilled promises, subpar food, and a complete disregard for customer care. What we hoped would become our go-to restaurant for special occasions turned out to be a waste of both time and a few hundred euros. Opelbad has unfortunately lost our trust, and our future visit to this place again.

We went there twice for coffee. Great view, very tasty cake. The service was very nice. The prices ok.

Das Ambiente ist atemberaubend, der Koch sowie auch der Service verstehen sein Handwerk mit perfektion. Ich mache seit knapp 20 Jahren selber hochwertige Gastronomie und bin mehr als beeindruckt von dem Ort und dessen Menschen. Danke für einen unvergesslichen Abend bei euch. :-)

Unfortunately the food wasn't worth one star! We had asparagus that was completely overcooked, it was soft and mushy. The mini schnitzel tasted like it had been taken out of ice cream and thrown into the deep fryer. The Schnitzel was hard and dry and tasted bad, you could hardly eat it and it had nothing to do with Wiener Schnitzel. (36 euros) The poached egg wasn't runny, we had to let it go back and then got one that was at least runny on the inside. The plate was carelessly prepared. Actually, asparagus with a schnitzel or a poached egg is an easy dish to prepare and there are not many mistakes can do. Unfortunately everything here was bad, in terms of taste and preparation. All in all, we cannot recommend this restaurant more highly!

Wir waren in den letzten Monaten schon öfters hier Essen. Es war immer ein besonderes Erlebnis. Der Ausblick, das Ambiente im Restaurant und die immer sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Servicekräfte. Zudem bietet die Speisekarte eine gute und abwechslungsreiche Auswahl an Speisen und Leckereien. Vegetarier, Veganer, Fleisch- und Fischesser, jeder ist willkommen und kommt auf seine Kosten.

Ein wirklich schönes Ambiente. Das Essen/ Brunch war gut und vielfältig. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Übergang vom ersten Brunch ab 11 h zum zweiten ab 14 h ( den wir gewählt hatten), war etwas "holprig".

Ich kann es auch nach mehrmaligen Versuchen nicht mehr empfehlen. Lage ist top und das angestellte Personal wirklich bemüht, das war’s dann auch. Essen trotz gehobener Preise … schwierig. Schnitzel trocken und mehr Panade als Fleisch, Spargel knochenhart, Beilagen dürftig. Chef guckt mal um die Ecke, kümmert sich aber überhaupt nicht um verzweifelte Gäste. Viel zu wenig Personal. 1,5 Stunden bis zum Hauptgang ist auch für entspannte Zeitgenossen einfach nicht hinnehmbar. Traurig für die schöne Location, aber absolute Katastrophe.

Disappointing Sunday Easter brunch Staff hardly have any gastronomy experience. Service across the table, across the plate you just ate from. Disappointing range of food. Breakfast was still available. Butter only came when asked. Rolls looked as if they hadn't seen the inside of the oven. Praise for the bread! Simple different things. Fruit salad with lots of apple, 1* jam, Nutella, 3 types of cornflakes, natural yogurt. All the cutlery stuck terribly. They were new, you couldn't touch anything where the brand label was. The range of warm dishes fell even further. Asparagus, as hard as raw vegetables, even after he went to the kitchen again and came back, still hard as an apple. Cheapest hollandaise sauce from the tetra pack. Potatoes, spinach, rice, lamb pot with sauce, far too spicy curry vegetables. Second type of meat, totally dry. There was oil all over the meat in the sauce. The dessert took it up a notch again. All in all, disappointing experience, not worth the €49 per person. Too bad.

Great view over Wiesbaden. Unfortunately, the food wasn't really that inspiring given the higher price (€20+ per main course).

Opelbad is a lovely spot for drinks or a wonderful meal. A combination of gorgeous views of Wiesbaden from above and also delicious flavors. The staff is very kind and helpful.

The service staff tried hard, but had to serve the entire restaurant alone. The food didn't come for over 1.5 hours. The taste was okay, a bit too salty at times. The best thing about the restaurant is the view.

Es war sehr schön und total Gastfreundlich und dieser Tolle Blick über Wiesbaden. Dieser Ausflug lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Wir kommen wieder zur nächsten Saison Eröffnung.:-) GLG.

**Gemütliche Atmosphäre & exzellentes Essen!** Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend in der Hütte Marta. Das Käsefondue war hervorragend und der Kaiserschmarrn zum Abschluss einfach perfekt – fluffig, goldbraun und köstlich. Der Service war aufmerksam, herzlich und hat den Abend besonders angenehm gemacht. Wer auf der Suche nach gemütlicher Hüttenküche mit erstklassiger Zubereitung ist, sollte hier unbedingt vorbeischauen! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hier fühlt man sich fast wie im Skiurlaub. Sehr gemütlich. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, gutes Essen in lockerer Atmosphäre.

There were no children's meals to be found in the Martha Hut, unfortunately with a slimmed-down Christmas menu, and the menu wasn't advertised online, but the standard menu was online... no indication that the menu isn't valid at Christmas... so you go there and look Choose something nice from the menu beforehand and be disappointed when you don't get the food you want at all...the selection from the Christmas menu is very sparse...service is not very friendly, hardly motivated, there is a wait of almost 30 minutes for a beer...we become don't come back anymore...

We were very happy with our meal at Opelbad on the 25th December and would certainly visit again.

Unfortunately I can't say anything good. We went for brunch on Boxing Day, 2 p.m. The room was not yet fully prepared at 2 p.m., unfortunately there was no sign of Christmas. Brunch consisted of breakfast, appetizers, two hot dishes and dessert. The rolls were simple baked rolls, the scrambled eggs, the bacon and the sausages were unfortunately completely cold. The starters were okay, the main meal was carelessly prepared and only lukewarm, as was the soup offered. The coffee machine was dirty and didn't work at times. You could clearly see that brunch had already taken place at 12 p.m. The staff wasn't very attentive. The sanitary facilities were dirty and unkempt. Regular inspection of the toilets is part of the plan here. The price of €59.80 per person, plus drinks, is clearly too high. We won't be coming back again.

We have enjoyed coming here for years and are never disappointed. But on Christmas Day we always get a goose to enjoy at home. The overall package fits there too - professionally packaged and very tasty.

Absolutely great! A very extensive buffet that was always replenished with very fine dishes. The staff is so attentive, helpful and really sweet. We felt really comfortable and recommend it to others.

It was very warm in the rooms. The portions too big. Everything tasted good.

Complaint about the Christmas party on December 13th, 2024 Ladies and Gentlemen We would like to take this opportunity to complain about some inconveniences at our Christmas party on December 13, 2024 in your house. First we would like to address curling. Unfortunately, some of the ice sticks were broken, which significantly affected the enjoyment of the activity. Furthermore, it was extremely unfortunate that we had to change seats and tables a total of three times that evening. This not only led to confusion, but also resulted in incorrect billing. Unfortunately, the quality and portion sizes of the dishes also left a lot to be desired. In particular, the portions of the Kaiserschmarrn and the Kaspressknödel were significantly too small for the price-performance ratio. The apple strudel was also carelessly prepared, which was disappointing for a festive occasion like this. Finally, we would like to say that the service was not satisfactory. The waitress seemed annoyed, especially with our questions and concerns. We were looking forward to a festive and pleasant celebration, but unfortunately we were disappointed in many ways. Sightseeing at Neroberg You can hardly eat more spectacularly in Wiesbaden. The view from the restaurant sweeps over the entire city - from east to west to the Rheingau. In the south, the Mainzer Lerchenberg can be seen in the background.

It was great in Martha's cabin. Even if we didn't like everything 100% (sauerkraut was too neutral, Kaiserschmarren didn't have enough plum jam and the caramelized Madeln were "missing")... However, this is very subjective and a matter of taste. We had a great time and the service was great. Very attentive and accommodating. Thanks! Happy holidays and see you next time

The hut was again very comfortable. Service was unfortunately a bit slow, but here too it was probably due to a lack of staff. Staff was very friendly. And the food was also delicious. We'll definitely come back

We ordered a goose to take away. Since we had often had very good experiences in the Opelbad Restaurant before, we were in good spirits this time too. And we were NOT disappointed. The goose was super crispy, very tender and juicy. Side dishes were delicious and more than plentiful. All in all, a great meal for guests at home! Pre-ordering was easy and everything was well packaged and ready for collection on the agreed date. Really recommended.

We stayed in the Martha hut and were served very friendly and quickly. The food was also very good, we were in a group and had goose and a la carte. Can recommend it without reservation. Top location!

The restaurant needs a visual renovation - style from the 70s

Stephan and his staff hosted me and 63 of workmates for a holiday party and it was an outstanding event. From the very beginning the communication with Stephan was excellent, I simply had to say what I wanted and he took care of everything. The venue is beautiful with a great view of the city, and the food was great. We went with the winter bbq for dinner, which was the most expensive option, but well worth it, especially the goose. The staff was very attentive and professional, I don’t believe anyone had to wait more than a minute for a fresh drink. I cannot recommend Wagner Neroberg-Gastronomie enough for a group event. We celebrated our employee Christmas party this year in the Martha Hut. The ambience is absolutely perfect! A mix of comfort and rustic style. The buffet was simply a dream, and special requests were happily accommodated. The whole thing was accompanied by a large selection of drinks. Daniel and his entire team pampered us to the fullest that evening, which was reflected in the happy faces of all the employees. A big plus are the two curling rinks which ensured the right mood. We had a very nice table with a great view. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the main course (pre-ordered goose. Reservation was at 8:00 p.m., main course was served at 9:40 p.m.) and the service decreased significantly towards the end. So it was no longer possible to order water and the dessert that some of the group had ordered was lost and therefore could no longer be served. In the end we had to look for the service staff to order the bill because no one was serving anymore. Meanwhile, the remaining employees chatted in a relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen. Too bad.

It was a bit disorganized. And it took a very long time for the food to arrive (about 1.5 hours). We don't know that from the last few years.

We had a very nice goose meal with a great view over Wiesbaden. The goose was very crispy and tender, the side dishes were plentiful and tasty. The service is very courteous and the atmosphere is attractive. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Very friendly, attentive service staff, a wide range of dishes, great views

The food was too little in relation to the price paid. Portions far too small, taste good. The service was initially very attentive and friendly. Later you had the feeling that they had forgotten you. You had to wait forever before you could even take an order. There were four of us at the table, one person's order was completely forgotten. There is a huge draft in some parts of the room so that the heating air cannot reach there. This was the case at our table, unfortunately the location in this condition cannot be recommended, but we are sure that with this quality management system you will quickly exploit the potential for improvement.

Martha The hut is really a mega location, the service was simply top notch, it was a bit noisy because we were sitting directly at the loudspeaker, the food was mediocre. Still a really nice evening.

You sit in a beautiful ambience with a view over the world spa city with good food and exceptionally attentive, friendly and quick service. Highly recommended.

A couple we were friends with suggested devouring a goose here. We had a very nice evening, everything was great in terms of cuisine. What should be highlighted is the very friendly service. Cristin had a lot to do in the restaurant, but he didn't miss out. We'd love to come back.

It is always a special pleasure to be a guest at Wagner and to enjoy an all-round successful evening. All three courses were perfectly prepared to the point, the ambience in combination with the wide view over Wiesbaden was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly and competent. We had a very nice Sunday brunch with a very attentive service staff. The food was very tasty, the only criticism I would have is that there was no vegetarian main course, so this only consisted of side dishes. The tablecloth would also be brightened up a little more with a flower. But we will definitely come back again 😃

It's a shame that the plate wasn't preheated. This meant that my beef shortribs got cold after a very short time. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the food. 100% satisfaction. With the Thai curry, the bowl in which the food was served was hot. The prices for the starter and dessert are very reasonable. We gave up on it. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to service. The service staff was attentive and discreet. Requests for changes to the menu, such as no fries and mashed potatoes, were implemented flawlessly.

Ladies and Gentlemen We really liked the location, the food and especially the friendly service. We thought we had found a restaurant where you could eat well in peace and quiet and enjoy the beautiful view. Unfortunately the noise level from other guests with 6 children at the table was very loud. Too bad.

We were there for lunch with a group of 20 people. Booking was easy and uncomplicated via the homepage. The service on site was quick and attentive, although the service was a bit grumpy at first, but then friendly. Everyone (!) enjoyed the food. Overall therefore 5 stars.

We would like to describe our unfortunate experience in your restaurant. It was our second visit and unfortunately we have to say that it was very disappointing. The first time the service was fine, but this time we were treated extremely disrespectfully by the waitress. We already had a bad impression when she showed no friendliness or politeness, even though we even gave a 5 euro tip. There was no simple “thank you,” which surprised us. Additionally, we placed an order that never arrived at our table without anyone apologizing or pointing it out to us. Overall, the atmosphere was very stressful due to the unfriendly and unpleasant manner of the service staff. While the food was acceptable, the poor service overshadowed the entire experience. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant and will prefer other options in the future.

The restaurant is located on the Neroberg, you won't find a more beautiful view in Wiesbaden. The food was also excellent. I recommend the restaurant without reservation.

We had a group reservation. The drinks, sparkling wine and wine were only mediocre. The food was not high quality. Bad though relatively expensive. Only the cheapest grilled food, tough beef steak, simple sausages and a chicken vegetable skewer. The starter was simple, unimaginative. The best thing was the dessert. Not recommended.

The Opelbad Restaurant is really something special. The view is amazing and the menu is explained in great detail and the dishes are innovative. The waiter was polite but overwhelmed due to my allergies and my ignorance of the specialties. I think he had to force himself to be friendly. They even changed one dish due to my allergies. Nevertheless, I didn't feel welcome and my companion was about to leave the restaurant. Despite the problems with the order, we enjoyed it very much. I don't know if I'll go again. For 2 people over 120EUR was reasonable for the food and the ambience, the well-being of somewhat difficult guests can certainly still be worked on. Good luck for the future, it was very well attended.

Was very disappointed with the Wiener Schnitzel. Based on the price, reviews and ambience, I expected something different. There was a lot of meat, but it tasted terrible. Strange that the reviews are so different

Mediocre food. Great atmosphere

The location terrace is very good. The overall impression is less good. The entire atmosphere seems outdated. The service was attentive, but not professional. The food is just average and what is advertised on the menu promises much more than what actually appears on the plate. A cordon bleue with Ahler sausage filled with spunde cheese was just below average. Again: not very professional. The dessert: Black Forest plate with sorbet is served with ready-made cream from the spray can... It can be done, but not exactly professionally. Unfortunately I cannot give a recommendation.

As always, we were greeted very friendly and the service and kitchen were a big compliment! We can highly recommend a visit to the Opelbad restaurant.

The tower absolutely fulfills its purpose as an excursion restaurant. The environment is great, everything was very relaxed, nice service, the food came quickly and was good. The only drawback is the toilets, which are dirty, run down and smell very bad. This needs to be addressed urgently. Otherwise great! I'm always happy to be there.

Very beautifully located location on the Neroberg with a fantastic view over Wiesbaden, particularly recommended at sunset in late summer to take the last (children's) voices with you from the outdoor pool and enjoy the evening with a good glass of wine and delicious food. The waitresses are "outstanding" - incredibly attentive, friendly and blessed with an incredible charisma.

There is hardly a comparable location in Wiesbaden where beautiful views, a special ambience and good cuisine form such a unique mix :-)) A visit is always worth it!!!

The reserved seats outside under the large umbrella in the tower bistro were well chosen because it promptly started to drizzle a little when we arrived. The fact that we arrived a little early wasn't a problem and everyone in the fairly mixed family group (18 people) found something suitable and tasty for lunch! The children's noodles for our two hungry two-year-olds came extra quickly. It's lovely to sit on the beautiful Neroberg under the protective parasols.

We were in the Zum Turm restaurant. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired! From the tables not being cleared to the toilets, which are a disaster. Unfortunately the food for the price is not recommended. With a schnitzel everything goes extra! Hand cheese Mediterranean is supposed to be with olives and dried tomatoes, there were no tomatoes. Service rather unfriendly and stressed

The restaurant has a unique, beautiful location above Wiesbaden, with a great view, the service is very courteous and friendly and the food tastes really good. The dessert was a work of art. And generously sized.
