Einfach schade, wir waren immer gerne im Opatja. Jetzt streichen wir das Restaurant von unserer Liste. Der Herr vom Service war ruppig und frech und der Herr vom „Management“ war unfreundlich und überheblich . Das Essen war gut bis sehr gut. Das gesamte Paket ist nicht mehr stimmig. Es war leer! Nicht ohne Grund.

Extrem gutes und exquisites Restaurant! Immer wieder eine Empfehlung wert, das Tatar ist einfach genial und der Fisch auch ganz besonders! In der Stube setzt sich meiner Meinung nach ein bisschen besser als im Restaurant.

Es ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis ins Opatija zu gehen und dies sowohl im Außen- wie auch im Innenbereich. Sowohl das Essen wie auch der Service lassen kein Wünsche offen. Immer wieder gerne.

Rundum zufrieden, da wir auf Urlaub waren und genügend Zeit hatten. Wir haben beide das Tagesgericht bestellt und mussten ca 45 Minuten darauf warten (ausser uns waren ca. 10 Gäste da). Kann ir vorstellen, dass dies Leuten, die wieder arbeiten müssen, doch etwas zu lange dauert.

Ein wirklich gelungenes Restauranterlebnis. Die Küche überzeugt mit raffinierten, harmonisch abgestimmten Gerichten, die kreativ sind, ohne überladen zu wirken. Hochwertige Zutaten, feine Aromen und eine schöne Präsentation sorgen dafür, dass jeder Gang Freude macht. Der Service ist aufmerksam, freundlich und angenehm unaufdringlich – genau die richtige Mischung aus Professionalität und Herzlichkeit. Man fühlt sich willkommen und bestens betreut. Ein Ort, an den man gerne zurückkehrt.

Hervorragendes Essen und erstklassiger Service.

Durch einen Zufall haben wir das Restaurant entdeckt und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Gerichte waren raffiniert und die Qualität war hervorragend. Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich und kompetent. Wir waren so gegeistert, das wir am nächsten Abend nochmal hingegangen sind um das angebotene 4 Gänge Menü zu probieren. SENSATIONELL!!!! ....vom ersten bis zu letzten Happen ein Hochgenuss. Selten so gut in gepflegter Atmosphäre gegessen, wo Tischkultur noch hochgehalten wird. Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal wiederkommen, wenn wir in der Stadt sind. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend. Weiter so 👍

Ich hatte heute eine Vorspeise, einen Hauptgang und ein Dessert, und alles war ausgezeichnet. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit elegantem Ambiente und einer guten Auswahl an Gerichten. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam – man fühlt sich rundum willkommen. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Abend, den ich gerne weiterempfehle.

Wir haben hier am letzten Abend unseres Urlaubs gegessen und es war ausgezeichnet. Der Wein war wirklich gut und die Speisekarte bot eine gute Auswahl. Ich hatte das Menü und durfte den Nachtisch gegen Crêpe Suzette tauschen, was super war, da das direkt am Tisch gemacht wurde. Wir hatten einen tollen Tisch in der Ecke am Fenster. Ich kann das Restaurant als gute Alternative zu den ganzen traditionellen Restaurants in der Umgebung empfehlen.

Die Getränke, hier besonders der Wein und Schnaps ist unverhältnismäßig zu teuer gegenüber dem Essen.

"Whether it's a business lunch, Christmas party, wedding, or family celebration – every generation is welcome here." At least, that's what it says on the website. Apparently, we weren't the ones being referred to. After discussing the general conditions for our wedding reception, Mr. Kandel wanted to send us a quote, including a menu. We're still waiting for it, despite our attempts to contact him. The appointment would have been made long ago.

On a warm Friday night it was busy at Opatija but didn’t impact the service or experience. Octopus starter was excellent and the monkfish (unusual to see in Bavaria) dish was delicious. The highlight was the sole which was cooked to perfection and worth the price tag. Not cheap but a great option for a more high end meal

Unser Besuch war sehr gut. Das Ambiente, die freundlichen Miteinander und natürlich das hervorragende Essen haben uns sehr gefallen. Saubere Tischdecken, gutes Besteck, ansprechendes Flair. Die Kommunikation mit der Bedienung hätte besser kaum sein können. Das Spiel mit den Säuren und Bitternoten zusammen mit den Früchten war kulinarisch ein richtiges Highlight.

Unfortunately, my review isn't so good this time! We waited what felt like an hour and a half for the main course! The server, rather cold and arrogant, told us, "We take orders first!" However, before we could even sit down, she asked us if we wanted water. We had reserved a table for 7:00 p.m. and left the restaurant at 11:00 p.m., unfortunately still hungry. The portions were small, not particularly seasoned, not particularly lovingly prepared, and not particularly warm either. We've been there several times and have always been impressed. Last time, we waited longer, but this time it was truly unbearable! The oysters were excellent, the wine was also very good, but the rest of the food left a lot to be desired. And I wouldn't want to be around an offended server with a long face.

Opatia is a very good restaurant. The food is excellent. You can taste the passion for the products. The portions were large enough to fill you up. The service was good and unobtrusive. We've been there several times. Opatia is nothing like the Opatia of the past.

Wunderschöner Platz, tolles Ambiente, sehr gute, variantenreiche Speisen. Auch wenn es gestern etwas in der Küche durcheinander ging und die Wartezeiten sehr lange waren - der freundliche & professionelle Service machte das wieder gut! Und geschmeckt hat es - wie immer - prima!

Mußten1,5 Stunden aufs Essen warten, Rochenflügel schmeckten überhaupt nicht, das Gewicht der Seezunge hätte man vorher bekannt geben müssen (€75), Salat mit Pfifferlingen kam komplett ohne Dressing.

Yesterday I went to dinner in Opatija with a very well-known friend of mine. The waitress asked us not to put ice cubes in our glasses and not to clink glasses too hard, as they might break. The food wasn't great, and it's definitely not worth going there. I won't be going back and won't recommend it to anyone. When I paid, the waitress didn't even say thank you; she just pocketed the money and left. That's also unacceptable. My friend Nuremberg, please reconsider what you can do to change things.

Unfriendly staff and bad, overpriced food

We were in a group of 8 people for a business dinner at Opatija. Upon prior request, we were presented with a full vegan menu right when we were seated. The food was delicious, fresh, and, as far as I can tell, of high quality. The portion sizes were also reasonable. We were also immediately informed that it might take a little longer if we didn't want to order the set menu. However, it wasn't particularly busy on a Monday evening, and we all had either the full menu or at least excerpts from the menu, but it still took a really long time between courses. The waitress' behavior was also a bit... well, unfriendly. She was friendly, but since we had a few "add-ons" to our order and had also made a mess, she rolled her eyes and snorted, which we all noticed. Surprisingly, each of us received exactly what we ordered without further question, which is what defines a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, no photos, as it was a business lunch.

Always happy to come back. Great service, very good food, and the skewer is highly recommended!

We had lunch in Opatija today and consciously chose Wiener Schnitzel - hoping for a classically good dish. Unfortunately we were disappointed in many ways. Even the reception wasn't very warm: Although all the tables were still free, we were rudely told by the staff to sit down immediately - it wasn't possible to move around later. The tone was didactic and uninviting, which was irritating in a restaurant of this standard. The food itself was also disappointing. The schnitzel was extremely thin, small (barely larger than the palm of your hand) and tasteless. The asparagus was cooked too soft and had no bite at all. For 44 euros per portion we expected much more. Even with the bread - ordered and paid for for four people - the ratio was wrong: a tiny amount of foamed cream was served, which was enough for one person at best. That seemed a bit careless. We also had to ask about drinks and the bill, as both didn't come without a reminder. One bright spot, however, was the friendly treatment of our small dogs: they were immediately welcomed and provided with water. That was a really beautiful moment that we are very grateful for. Overall, the visit was unfortunately not convincing - the price-performance ratio and the service do not meet the standards that the restaurant conveys to the outside world.

We were here for lunch and what can I say, it was super delicious! The service was very courteous and the atmosphere was simple and elegant. The starter, wild garlic soup, was very tasty. The beef ragout is super tender. Price-performance ratio perfect.

The food is great, no question, but not outstanding in my opinion. The asparagus salad was very bland and the potatoes with the schnitzel were overcooked and underseasoned. But the service was outstanding!!

Experience from the perspective of a frequent traveler with high culinary standards As someone who travels extensively for work and regularly encounters a wide variety of culinary concepts – from down-to-earth regional cuisine to upscale fine dining – I evaluate this restaurant with a nuanced perspective. The promising four-course menu at this establishment was prominently featured on the website and menu, but fell well short of expectations in terms of execution and overall composition. Cuisine: The dishes were well-crafted, but lacked depth and flavor refinement. The soup was only half-portioned and aromatically subdued. The beef fillet showed qualitative differences within one plate – one half was pleasantly tender, the other was noticeably too firm in structure. While the portion sizes were within the range of what is usual in fine dining, they lacked the flavor intensity that would justify such portions. Service: The reception was friendly, and the process was initially structured. What was irritating, however, was the waiter's reminder after the first course that we should hurry, as the kitchen would soon be going on break – a move that can be considered unprofessional in a restaurant of this price range. After my subtle reminder, a sincere apology was offered. Nevertheless, the rest of the process seemed to be affected: There was a 48-minute wait between the second and third courses, despite politely asking. A subsequent follow-up also led to further delays. (I had the impression that everyone was on their break at that time. Our drinks were also empty, and no one else was coming. The dining room was empty, with no staff in sight.) The chef's personal appearance in the dining room – without greeting or visual contact – seemed unfortunate in this context and reinforced the feeling of being underappreciated. Ambience: The ambience was stylish and pleasant. Of particular note was that we, with our toddler and stroller, were assigned a spacious and easily accessible seat – a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. Appreciation: We were delighted to receive a free drink at the end as a gesture for the initial communication slip-up. We appreciated this kindness – however, it only partially brightened the overall impression, as the overall mood was already noticeably dampened. Conclusion: A restaurant that advertises itself as having high standards should consistently meet these standards in terms of cuisine, timing, and guest service. Unfortunately, the overall impression fell well short of expectations – both in terms of the culinary quality and the professionalism of a special occasion like our wedding day. The value for money was not there under these circumstances.

The food, we had soup, tartare, schnitzel and risotto, was very good throughout. Fine dining in any case. The Crêpe Suzette for dessert was prepared at the table according to old tradition and was delicious. The service was also very good, but the ambience looked a bit too much like a hotel restaurant for us. We expected something more expressive in such a beautiful building in this beautiful place

I would give it 3.5 and it wasn't really Croatian. Very appealing atmosphere, great location and friendly service. Unfortunately, the courts were unable to meet expectations. I'd be happy to spend a little more if it was particularly good. But that wasn't it, dry beef, undefined barbecue sauce and a rather disappointing char. The only thing worth praising isspalter Freiheit, an excellent beer. A few km outside you can get a nice surf & turf for less money.

I was there with my son. We had: as a starter tartar and the beans carbonara, then falafel (shared) and finally the veal liver. The beans were flat to me, no kick, everything else was very tasty. The falafel, yammi and the veal liver, soft and great consistency. We had a very nice evening. The service was very good.

Könnte das Personal professioneller sein? Ja. Könnte die Inneneinrichtung eine Auffrischung vertragen? Ja. Könnte die Weinkarte um die eine oder andere Flasche ergänzt werden? Ja. Aber mal ganz ehrlich: alle schreien nach authentischen Locations, die aus dem Einheitsbrei herausscheinen. Voila! Geht ins Opatija. Das Essen ist famos, die Karte abwechslungsreich. Das Personal vielleicht nicht ganz vorne in Sachen Aufmerksamkeit, dafür sehr freundlich. Die Weinkarte klein aber fein und preislich angemessen. Und es ist gemütlich am wunderschönen Unschlittplatz - auf gute Art. Opatija ist weniger möchtegern und mehr mögenwirgern.

Die Bedienung war sehr hilfsbereit und hat gute Weinempfehlungen gemacht. Da wir einen Geburtstag gefeiert haben, hat das Restaurant sogar extra Torte für uns besorgt und zusätzlich dekoriert. Wir werden definitiv wieder hingehen!

We had reserved a table for nine people with friends for our Christmas dinner. When we arrived, our jackets and coats were taken straight away and taken to the cloakroom. Great service. Our waiter was nice and helpful. We started with a delicious aperitif. We were then handed the menu with the note that several main courses and fries as a side dish were already sold out. Too bad, it shouldn't happen. Upon request we also received a wine list. Apparently there was no separate drinks menu with soft drinks. The starters and main courses we ordered were good but nothing special. At this price level we all lacked sophistication and a wow factor. Especially since there is only one vegetarian main course. The desserts were all very tasty. When we wanted to separate the bill for four families, we felt that the waiter wanted it to be easier (we should split the total bill between ourselves). However, we stuck with it. Overall, a nice evening, but we won't be coming back. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right.

Voor Kerstavond reserveerd . Alleen om 21.30 was het mogelijk om een tafel te reserveren. De kwaliteit van het eten eten was goed maar er werd gehaast geserveerd…. Omdat om 22.00 de keuken zou sluiten!!! Niks daarover bij de reservering en helaas er was maar één dessert voorradig. Schandalig dat wij binnen 25 minuten ons Kerstdiner moesten eten. Bij de manager ons beklag gedaan, maar geen excuus hiervoor gekregen. : het lag aan het reserveringssysteem.

The whole experience from beginning to end was a perfect night out. Service was what you’d always want at a fine dining restaurant: friendly, helpful, courteous, and professional. Soup was made in heaven, venison was tender and beautifully cooked, paccheri pasta cooked to perfection. Also loved the bread with the “bang bang” seasoning or whatever it was called.

Mittags war das Restaurant angenehm leer. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und hat sich sogar mit der Information abgemeldet, dass sie eine Speise flammbieren wird und dies etwas dauern kann. Ob wir vorher noch etwas möchten. Das Essen war wie immer ein Gedicht!

Wir hatten reserviert, mussten draußen vor dem Eingang 50 Minuten warten, weil kein Tisch frei war. Information erfolgte nur auf dringende Nachfrage. Wir hatten ein Event gebucht mit wechselnden Restaurants, es war alles vorab alles bezahlt. Total nervig. Schließlich gab es auch noch etwas anderes zu essen, als angekündigt. Und das nach 2 Stunden warten. Nie wieder!

Don't trust the reservation because it means nothing to these people. I reserved a table for two people two months in advance on a Friday in Nurnberg during the Christmas market, and 10 days before the date, the restaurant canceled the reservation because they said they were full (but two months ago they were not full) and gave me the possibility of going another day, (I am no longer in the city). Daniel is coming. I suppose it has nothing to do with having a Spanish surname, but after 17 years visiting Germany at Christmas, this restaurant has the dubious honor of being the first restaurant in Germany to cancel a reservation made previously. Congratulations Opatija, you are the worst.

No confíes en la reserva porque no significa nada para esta gente. Reservé con dos meses de antelación una mesa para dos personas un viernes en Nurnberg en epoca de mercadillo navideño, y a 10 días de la fecha, el restaurante cancela la reserva porque dice que están llenos (pero hace dos meses no estaban llenos) y me da la posibilidad de ir otro día, (que no estoy ya en la ciudad). Vienen Daniel. Supongo que no tendrá nada que ver con tener apellido español, pero después de 17 años visitando Alemania en fechas navideñas, este restaurante tiene el dudoso honor de ser el primer restaurante en Alemania en cancelar una reserva hecha con anterioridad. Enhorabuena Opatija, sois lo peor.

Everything about our evening was excellent - super service, excellent food and very good wine. The atmosphere was good, with an enjoyable ‘buzz’ in the restaurant.

Mit meiner Tochter wollte ich den Besuch des Christkindlmarktes mit einem guten Essen im Opatija ausklingen lassen. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 18h reserviert und bestellten als Vorspeise die Rinderbrühe mit Klößen, die gelungen war. Als Hauptgang bestellte ich den Butt, meine Tochter die Garnelen. Nach über 60 Minuten kam der Hauptgang, anstelle des Fisches kam ein Stück Rind, das ich nicht bestellt hatte. Wir konnten nicht gemeinsam essen, da der Fisch später kam, offenbar aus der Tiefkühltruhe. Insgesamt ein extrem schlechtes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Auf der Rechnung erschien dann wieder das Rinderfilet. Trotz geringer Auslastung war das Personal überfordert.

I searched for over an hour online researching different restaurants and this restaurant came up. Time after After Time is the best place in Nuremberg and I agree. It was a great night walking thru the Christmas market to find this lovely place and the food was exceptional. It made our trip complete.

I am correcting my rating from 2023. We were there in the summer and were very satisfied, so much so that there was a 5 star rating at the time. We were there a week ago and thought about whether we should rate or not and came to the decision that we would give a verdict. We had reserved for 6 people and one person was sick. Luckily, you could almost say that the round table was ok for 5 people, but it would have been too narrow for 6. The food was average to subpar. The salad tasted ok and a small starter salad for 12 euros, which was just ok, was just too expensive. 2x wild boar dish was far too dry and the portion was minimal. 1x fish dish was totally over salted, the shish kebab was ok and ultimately the schnitzel was very good. With an aperitif, a bottle of wine and three desserts (ice cream), we paid €500 with a tip. We like to spend money on food, but not on mediocre food in this price range. Not recommended for us at the moment. We also complained about the wild boar dish, which the waiter subtly ignored. This is of course how you can deal with criticism.

I would have expected much more, the menu was too poor for me and didn't appeal to me. Well, then I ordered the usual Wiener Schnitzel for €34! Two pieces of breaded veal and three potatoes and a 08 15 cucumber salad.

Food good, ambience and service rather mediocre. We were guests in the evening as a larger group. The main courses were very attractively prepared and tasted sophisticated. Unfortunately, that doesn't justify these prices at all. To achieve this, the service and ambience would have to be improved accordingly. Very tasty food, really nice atmosphere

Mein Partner hatte Wiener Schnitzel und es hat ihm hervorragend geschmeckt ich hatte die Seezunge sie wurde für mich filetiert und der Fisch war ebenso fantastisch. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns das unser Wunsch berücksichtigt wurde zwecks Sitzplatz. Vielen Dank dafür Wir kommen gerne wieder
