A cheap and very good recommendation for lunch. Great tartare!!

We had lunch in Opatija today and consciously chose Wiener Schnitzel - hoping for a classically good dish. Unfortunately we were disappointed in many ways. Even the reception wasn't very warm: Although all the tables were still free, we were rudely told by the staff to sit down immediately - it wasn't possible to move around later. The tone was didactic and uninviting, which was irritating in a restaurant of this standard. The food itself was also disappointing. The schnitzel was extremely thin, small (barely larger than the palm of your hand) and tasteless. The asparagus was cooked too soft and had no bite at all. For 44 euros per portion we expected much more. Even with the bread - ordered and paid for for four people - the ratio was wrong: a tiny amount of foamed cream was served, which was enough for one person at best. That seemed a bit careless. We also had to ask about drinks and the bill, as both didn't come without a reminder. One bright spot, however, was the friendly treatment of our small dogs: they were immediately welcomed and provided with water. That was a really beautiful moment that we are very grateful for. Overall, the visit was unfortunately not convincing - the price-performance ratio and the service do not meet the standards that the restaurant conveys to the outside world.

Excellent cooking, but kind of stiff atmosphere

We were here for lunch and what can I say, it was super delicious! The service was very courteous and the atmosphere was simple and elegant. The starter, wild garlic soup, was very tasty. The beef ragout is super tender. Price-performance ratio perfect.

The food is great, no question, but not outstanding in my opinion. The asparagus salad was very bland and the potatoes with the schnitzel were overcooked and underseasoned. But the service was outstanding!!

Experience from the perspective of a frequent traveler with high culinary standards As someone who travels extensively for work and regularly encounters a wide variety of culinary concepts – from down-to-earth regional cuisine to upscale fine dining – I evaluate this restaurant with a nuanced perspective. The promising four-course menu at this establishment was prominently featured on the website and menu, but fell well short of expectations in terms of execution and overall composition. Cuisine: The dishes were well-crafted, but lacked depth and flavor refinement. The soup was only half-portioned and aromatically subdued. The beef fillet showed qualitative differences within one plate – one half was pleasantly tender, the other was noticeably too firm in structure. While the portion sizes were within the range of what is usual in fine dining, they lacked the flavor intensity that would justify such portions. Service: The reception was friendly, and the process was initially structured. What was irritating, however, was the waiter's reminder after the first course that we should hurry, as the kitchen would soon be going on break – a move that can be considered unprofessional in a restaurant of this price range. After my subtle reminder, a sincere apology was offered. Nevertheless, the rest of the process seemed to be affected: There was a 48-minute wait between the second and third courses, despite politely asking. A subsequent follow-up also led to further delays. (I had the impression that everyone was on their break at that time. Our drinks were also empty, and no one else was coming. The dining room was empty, with no staff in sight.) The chef's personal appearance in the dining room – without greeting or visual contact – seemed unfortunate in this context and reinforced the feeling of being underappreciated. Ambience: The ambience was stylish and pleasant. Of particular note was that we, with our toddler and stroller, were assigned a spacious and easily accessible seat – a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. Appreciation: We were delighted to receive a free drink at the end as a gesture for the initial communication slip-up. We appreciated this kindness – however, it only partially brightened the overall impression, as the overall mood was already noticeably dampened. Conclusion: A restaurant that advertises itself as having high standards should consistently meet these standards in terms of cuisine, timing, and guest service. Unfortunately, the overall impression fell well short of expectations – both in terms of the culinary quality and the professionalism of a special occasion like our wedding day. The value for money was not there under these circumstances.

Great food although the service was really slow, even we had a closed menu during exhibition week.

The food, we had soup, tartare, schnitzel and risotto, was very good throughout. Fine dining in any case. The Crêpe Suzette for dessert was prepared at the table according to old tradition and was delicious. The service was also very good, but the ambience looked a bit too much like a hotel restaurant for us. We expected something more expressive in such a beautiful building in this beautiful place

I would give it 3.5 and it wasn't really Croatian. Very appealing atmosphere, great location and friendly service. Unfortunately, the courts were unable to meet expectations. I'd be happy to spend a little more if it was particularly good. But that wasn't it, dry beef, undefined barbecue sauce and a rather disappointing char. The only thing worth praising isspalter Freiheit, an excellent beer. A few km outside you can get a nice surf & turf for less money.

Very good upscale restaurant. Nice, quiet restaurant where you can spend a good evening with your partner or friends. Very friendly, attentive but still reserved service. The food is excellent and well balanced.

I was there with my son. We had: as a starter tartar and the beans carbonara, then falafel (shared) and finally the veal liver. The beans were flat to me, no kick, everything else was very tasty. The falafel, yammi and the veal liver, soft and great consistency. We had a very nice evening. The service was very good.

I've eaten there twice so far. Always served very politely and very professionally. Food was very tasty. Can be recommended if you want to go out for something fancier

Könnte das Personal professioneller sein? Ja. Könnte die Inneneinrichtung eine Auffrischung vertragen? Ja. Könnte die Weinkarte um die eine oder andere Flasche ergänzt werden? Ja. Aber mal ganz ehrlich: alle schreien nach authentischen Locations, die aus dem Einheitsbrei herausscheinen. Voila! Geht ins Opatija. Das Essen ist famos, die Karte abwechslungsreich. Das Personal vielleicht nicht ganz vorne in Sachen Aufmerksamkeit, dafür sehr freundlich. Die Weinkarte klein aber fein und preislich angemessen. Und es ist gemütlich am wunderschönen Unschlittplatz - auf gute Art. Opatija ist weniger möchtegern und mehr mögenwirgern.

I had dinner in Opatija with friends and we are still thrilled today. The service was top and so was the quality. The aperitif was the house aperitif - super tasty. We would be happy to go there again and try other dishes. Thanks again!

Wie immer: Sehr aufmerksame Bedienungen. Sehr leckeres Essen und Getränke. Sogar ein "normales" Wiener Schnitzel ist aussergewöhnlich lecker. :-)

Die Bedienung war sehr hilfsbereit und hat gute Weinempfehlungen gemacht. Da wir einen Geburtstag gefeiert haben, hat das Restaurant sogar extra Torte für uns besorgt und zusätzlich dekoriert. Wir werden definitiv wieder hingehen!

We had reserved a table for nine people with friends for our Christmas dinner. When we arrived, our jackets and coats were taken straight away and taken to the cloakroom. Great service. Our waiter was nice and helpful. We started with a delicious aperitif. We were then handed the menu with the note that several main courses and fries as a side dish were already sold out. Too bad, it shouldn't happen. Upon request we also received a wine list. Apparently there was no separate drinks menu with soft drinks. The starters and main courses we ordered were good but nothing special. At this price level we all lacked sophistication and a wow factor. Especially since there is only one vegetarian main course. The desserts were all very tasty. When we wanted to separate the bill for four families, we felt that the waiter wanted it to be easier (we should split the total bill between ourselves). However, we stuck with it. Overall, a nice evening, but we won't be coming back. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right.

Wonderful dining experience! Food was delicious. Beef tartare amazing. Filet was incredible. Eli our server was so kind and explained all our food and made for the best dinner. Strong recommendation!

Voor Kerstavond reserveerd . Alleen om 21.30 was het mogelijk om een tafel te reserveren. De kwaliteit van het eten eten was goed maar er werd gehaast geserveerd…. Omdat om 22.00 de keuken zou sluiten!!! Niks daarover bij de reservering en helaas er was maar één dessert voorradig. Schandalig dat wij binnen 25 minuten ons Kerstdiner moesten eten. Bij de manager ons beklag gedaan, maar geen excuus hiervoor gekregen. : het lag aan het reserveringssysteem.

The whole experience from beginning to end was a perfect night out. Service was what you’d always want at a fine dining restaurant: friendly, helpful, courteous, and professional. Soup was made in heaven, venison was tender and beautifully cooked, paccheri pasta cooked to perfection. Also loved the bread with the “bang bang” seasoning or whatever it was called.

Mittags war das Restaurant angenehm leer. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und hat sich sogar mit der Information abgemeldet, dass sie eine Speise flammbieren wird und dies etwas dauern kann. Ob wir vorher noch etwas möchten. Das Essen war wie immer ein Gedicht!

Wir waren für eine kleine, vorweihnachtliche Feier zum ersten Mal hier und waren von Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch rundum zufrieden! Hervorragendes Essen, bester Service!

Wir hatten reserviert, mussten draußen vor dem Eingang 50 Minuten warten, weil kein Tisch frei war. Information erfolgte nur auf dringende Nachfrage. Wir hatten ein Event gebucht mit wechselnden Restaurants, es war alles vorab alles bezahlt. Total nervig. Schließlich gab es auch noch etwas anderes zu essen, als angekündigt. Und das nach 2 Stunden warten. Nie wieder!

Don't trust the reservation because it means nothing to these people. I reserved a table for two people two months in advance on a Friday in Nurnberg during the Christmas market, and 10 days before the date, the restaurant canceled the reservation because they said they were full (but two months ago they were not full) and gave me the possibility of going another day, (I am no longer in the city). Daniel is coming. I suppose it has nothing to do with having a Spanish surname, but after 17 years visiting Germany at Christmas, this restaurant has the dubious honor of being the first restaurant in Germany to cancel a reservation made previously. Congratulations Opatija, you are the worst.

No confíes en la reserva porque no significa nada para esta gente. Reservé con dos meses de antelación una mesa para dos personas un viernes en Nurnberg en epoca de mercadillo navideño, y a 10 días de la fecha, el restaurante cancela la reserva porque dice que están llenos (pero hace dos meses no estaban llenos) y me da la posibilidad de ir otro día, (que no estoy ya en la ciudad). Vienen Daniel. Supongo que no tendrá nada que ver con tener apellido español, pero después de 17 años visitando Alemania en fechas navideñas, este restaurante tiene el dudoso honor de ser el primer restaurante en Alemania en cancelar una reserva hecha con anterioridad. Enhorabuena Opatija, sois lo peor.

Everything about our evening was excellent - super service, excellent food and very good wine. The atmosphere was good, with an enjoyable ‘buzz’ in the restaurant.

I searched for over an hour online researching different restaurants and this restaurant came up. Time after After Time is the best place in Nuremberg and I agree. It was a great night walking thru the Christmas market to find this lovely place and the food was exceptional. It made our trip complete.

Mit meiner Tochter wollte ich den Besuch des Christkindlmarktes mit einem guten Essen im Opatija ausklingen lassen. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 18h reserviert und bestellten als Vorspeise die Rinderbrühe mit Klößen, die gelungen war. Als Hauptgang bestellte ich den Butt, meine Tochter die Garnelen. Nach über 60 Minuten kam der Hauptgang, anstelle des Fisches kam ein Stück Rind, das ich nicht bestellt hatte. Wir konnten nicht gemeinsam essen, da der Fisch später kam, offenbar aus der Tiefkühltruhe. Insgesamt ein extrem schlechtes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Auf der Rechnung erschien dann wieder das Rinderfilet. Trotz geringer Auslastung war das Personal überfordert.

I am correcting my rating from 2023. We were there in the summer and were very satisfied, so much so that there was a 5 star rating at the time. We were there a week ago and thought about whether we should rate or not and came to the decision that we would give a verdict. We had reserved for 6 people and one person was sick. Luckily, you could almost say that the round table was ok for 5 people, but it would have been too narrow for 6. The food was average to subpar. The salad tasted ok and a small starter salad for 12 euros, which was just ok, was just too expensive. 2x wild boar dish was far too dry and the portion was minimal. 1x fish dish was totally over salted, the shish kebab was ok and ultimately the schnitzel was very good. With an aperitif, a bottle of wine and three desserts (ice cream), we paid €500 with a tip. We like to spend money on food, but not on mediocre food in this price range. Not recommended for us at the moment. We also complained about the wild boar dish, which the waiter subtly ignored. This is of course how you can deal with criticism.

I would have expected much more, the menu was too poor for me and didn't appeal to me. Well, then I ordered the usual Wiener Schnitzel for €34! Two pieces of breaded veal and three potatoes and a 08 15 cucumber salad.

Food good, ambience and service rather mediocre. We were guests in the evening as a larger group. The main courses were very attractively prepared and tasted sophisticated. Unfortunately, that doesn't justify these prices at all. To achieve this, the service and ambience would have to be improved accordingly. Basically, there is still room for improvement when it comes to service. Unfortunately, I couldn't speak of feeling good. Unfortunately, I can also confirm the issue of ventilation. I don't understand this restaurant concept. The desserts were also rather mediocre and nothing special. I wouldn't visit again at the moment.

Very disappointing visit! Tagliatelle with Parmesan foam was promised, well-cooked pasta was served with an indefinable cream sauce - no trace of the advertised foam. This makes every Italian restaurant around the corner worlds better. Unfortunately, the Viennese schnitzel was served with glassy potatoes, certainly not top quality, which was served here. When it comes to service, a restaurant in this price range should make a lot more effort to look after its guests. Overall, unfortunately, one had to say that there is a wide gap between one's own standards and the price/performance ratio.

Went for a birthday dinner. The table was beautifully set. The staff was very nice and friendly and accommodating. Empty glasses were seen and refilled. What's missing is a sommelier. The wine list is very, very appealing, but if you have no idea it can certainly overwhelm guests. The large number of open wines is also great. The food was of high quality. You almost can't complain about it. A little more courage might be in order. Everything is down to earth and fits. Sometimes a little play with flavors is nice too. But the food is definitely very good in terms of craftsmanship. Prices are also reasonable for the quality. It's definitely worth going there.

Excellent cuisine, professional service and cozy atmosphere of a small cozy restaurant. It is better to reserve seats in advance, the place is popular.

The food was very appealing, although not outstanding. What was really annoying was the constant smell of food coming from the kitchen. Apparently the extractor hood didn't work in the kitchen. At the end of the evening, several guests at our table near the kitchen had their eyes burning and their clothes had taken on a deep fryer smell. The waiter responded to criticism at the end of the evening with the succinct remark that he didn't smell anything. Given your own self-image and the high prices, this is absolutely inappropriate.

Im Restaurant wurden wir freundlich empfangen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die Gerichte waren ausnahmslos köstlich. Das Preisniveau ist relativ hoch, jedoch vollständig angemessen. Alles schmeckt großartig. Wir saßen zu viert an einem schönen Tisch, sehr gemütlich. Die Crêpes zum Abschluss wurden am Tisch zubereitet und flambiert. Das war nicht nur ein Augenschmaus, sondern ein köstlicher Abschluss eines gemütlichen Abends. Danke für alles. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Durch Zufall sind wir auf das Restaurant aufmerksam geworden und haben dort reserviert. Es war eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Auswahl an Weinen sehr gut, der gewählte Wein auch super passend zum Essen und der Service immer aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

Always worth a trip. Every time I visit Nuremberg I am there because of the delicious drinks, great service and outstanding food.

Hallo, ich bin überzeugt das für die Liega in der sie mitspielen wollen/ können noch einiges nicht zu Ende gedacht ist! Brotkorb kostet extra finde ich bei Vorspeisen um die 20€ lächerlich und unnötig da einen Preis aufzurufen. Doppelter Espresso in einer Kaffeetasse und wenn es eine Espresso Tasse war mit Kaffeelöffel ist nicht professionell . Kleiner Tipp einfach mal essen gehen bei den Kollegen Rottner oder keidenzeller Hof! Ich weis sie haben keinen Stern aber wenn ich die Preise von gestern hoch rechne fehlt net soviel zu den Kollegen mit Stern. Essen war top trotz allem. Service gut mit Luft nach oben ! Alles in allem wir kommen wieder evtl. wird ja auf Kritik reagiert🙃 Familie Döhring

Ein sehr schöner Sommerabend im Außenbereich. Trotz des gebuchten Innenplatzes wurde uns sofort ein Platz im Außenbereich angeboten, da es sehr warm war an diesem Abend. Der Service war freundlich, höflich und sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen lecker und nicht Standardmäßig. Unsere Teenager hatten zwar für sich nicht das richtige Hauptgericht gewählt, aber dafür kann die Küche nichts. Wir hatten diese Gerichte auch und waren damit sehr zufrieden.

Exzellentes Essen mit nicht zu großer Auswahl. Mitten in der Altstadt, tolles Ambiente. Sehr guter Service. Eher hochpreisig aber qualitativ auch hochwertige Produkte. Gerne jederzeit wieder!

I went there for a date. I think it's a really nice place because the food is excellent, it's pretty quiet, so you can focus on communicating, and the atmosphere is clean, cozy, and aesthetic. You'll see families or couples dining there. The waitstaff is really nice and always makes sure we're comfortable and have everything we need, while still giving us space. They also speak English very well. The food was amazing too. We tried the truffle pasta and the steak, both of which were high-quality. Overall, I'm very happy with the place.

Creative twist on gazpacho with spicing and addition of cocktail shrimp. Turbot was nicely grilled- still moist and chanterelle risotto was excellent. Arugula on top of main was a nice touch. Portions were of generous size.

Wir waren schon zwei oder dreimal hier und eigentlich zufrieden. Heute war das Erlebnis leider sehr schlecht. Wir nahmen im Innenraumplatz, die Bedienung betonte, dass das Restaurant bereits geöffnet sei (11:50 Uhr). Leider warteten wir 10 Minuten. Niemand nahm irgendeine Bestellung auf. Nach weiteren 5 Minuten wurden draußen bei den neu eintreffenden Gästen die Getränke serviert. Wir hatten in der Zwischenzeit nur Gelegenheit den Gesprächen (lautstark)) der Servicekräfte zuzuhören. Nach weiteren Minuten sind wir aufgestanden und gegangen, ohne dass jemand nach unseren Bestellungen gefragt hätte. Der Xhef schaute zwischenzeitlich ins lokal, ohne Aktion und ging. Die Reaktion der Bedienung, die uns begrüßt hatte, als wir das Lokal verließen : war denn der Kollege gar nicht bei Ihnen? Ich erwarte von einem Restaurant dieses eigenen Anspruchs beziehungsweise der Preiskategorie, dass man die Gäste im Blick hat. Dies ist hier leider nicht der Fall nicht zu empfehlen. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Wir waren zu unserem Hochzeitstag zum ersten Mal im Restaurant. Da es sich hier um ein höher-preisiges Restaurant Handelt, würde ich erwarten, dass das Weinglas keinen Matzen unten hat. Sonst war es ein gelungenes und sehr angenehmes Erlebnis. Und: Lecker!!!

Wir waren mit der Qualität des Essens sehr zufrieden, auch optisch waren alle Gerichte ausgesprochen liebevoll gestaltet. Am Tag unseres Besuchs war das Lokal wegen einer Großveranstaltung in Nürnberg voll, die freundlichen und bemühten Servicekräfte waren deshalb teilweise überfordert. Eigenartig haben wir es empfunden, dass in einem Lokal mit diesem Preisniveau etwas Brot und Butter zum Preis von € 2,50 pro Person extra bestellt werden musste.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about your food yet, but your morning leaf blower interlude with the shrill whistling sound is so annoying. Please look around for a different model, perhaps you can do without it completely for environmental and noise protection reasons :)

The food is good, although for us the sea bream was better than the tagliata. Service was only one, so everything was a bit slow, but not annoying yet. The ambience outside looks nice, but somehow there is always a sewer smell. It could also be from the construction site nearby, but unfortunately it spoils the atmosphere.

Der Service war unaufmerksam für so ein gehobenes Restaurant. In jedem guten Restaurant gehört es sich auch unter anderem das man Brot gereicht bekommt und einen Gruss aus der Küche. Alles war nicht gegeben und Stuhlkissen gab es auch keine. Diese wurden erst nach Aufforderung gebracht. Unterm Strich besteht m. E. noch viel Luft nach oben.

Outstanding experience - with one funny quirk! Quickly - definitely a boutique-y, chef-driven vibe; expect small space, connected small rooms... probably a converted home? Nevertheless, the feel one gets when entering Opatija is that "this" could be excellent. There's no theme other than tasteful, old-world decor - Opatija is a bistro. Service is definitely cultured - fast, discrete, attentive. Food is wonderful. Wonderful! Coming from a region of the USA that is raised on outstanding beef, I had to make the throw-down and challenge Opatija's offering. Very good. Prepared perfectly! I got the impression the cut had been tenderized through a mild marinade (I could be wrong) but the cooking was brilliant - served hot, seared with the best of USA upscale steak house skill... (looks at watch). I have to go so I'll finish this with - excellent dining all around (great wine list, too). But, here's the quirk; leaving, there was this bowl of peculiar square candies - what are these?!?! They're like CRACK! To the apparent manager/owner who let me 'steal' a few more *wink* - Thank you for adding this extra bit of hospitality to the end of a great day's business. WHOLLY RECOMMENDED.
