Ong Tao is a good Vietnamese restaurant. The food is really tasty, especially the starters, especially the homemade spring rolls, are a highlight. The prices are perfectly reasonable, at 13-14 EUR for a main course. The cocktails are also well priced. The ambience is okay, but the restaurant is designed for a large number of guests, which unfortunately detracts from the atmosphere. It's nice that you can also sit outside.

The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is also very nice. Unfortunately, I always waited a little long for the food, drinks and service, but I can ignore that if the other points are a 10/10.

Delicious food but... - The service staff is not familiar with gluten or gluten-containing foods on their own menu. - On the first visit we were served pork, even though we clearly stated that we don't eat pork! - there was a hair in the food and two small flies on the basil stalk (served as decoration on the food). The food itself is delicious, but unfortunately that sort of thing is an absolute no-go these days.

I waited 30 minutes to order and they canceled my order for no reason.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food because we weren't served. We were definitely seen upon arrival; but not greeted and we were not given a card. After 10 minutes I looked for someone who was approachable and asked if I could be served outside. Apparently yes, we should just look for a place and someone will come right away. After another 5 minutes we left and discovered a great Italian restaurant nearby. 15 minutes of waiting without attention even though the restaurant was only moderately busy and we had reserved... who can afford it 🤷🏼‍♂️

The good-looking, nice male waitress today really fulfilled our every wish. She was always there when we wanted something, always asked in a friendly manner whether everything was OK, so really great, would be happy to come back again with the friendly service.

The mango milkshake is pretty good and the bun bo hue is average.

Super friendly (and attractive) staff, food was ready quickly and super tasty, the price is also very reasonable. Especially in the evening the ambience is very nice with the lanterns outside. 10/10 would go again

An absolute surprise that was visited on a recommendation. Excellent Vietnamese cuisine with fast and friendly service, and an unbeatable price-performance ratio - it's definitely worth the slightly longer journey there.

Yeah disappointing Vietnamese food. One summe roll portion claims to contain 2 rolls but instead came out as 1 roll cut into 4 pieces, one already with the rice paper burst open - how would you think it's acceptable to serve a chunk of a roll that's no longer in a shape of a roll? Bun bo Hue came without any accompanying herbs or bean sprouts. No lime wedges were offered either. I've had better at other Viet restos in the city for the same price. Needless to say I'm not coming back.

We spent a wonderful evening here in a pleasant atmosphere on the colorful, spacious terrace with delicious drinks, great food and very nice people in service. We had two different homemade drinks that were both exceptional and incredibly refreshing (one tamarind and pineapple, one lychee and kalamansi), each vegan summer rolls (great idea with the mango puree!), then two vegan dishes (one a ribbon rice noodle with super fresh vegetables, unfortunately the tamarind didn't come through so well) and a bun bowl, which I could easily order without noodles as a salad bowl if I wanted. It was also great that a bowl of really hot Thai chili was served immediately upon request, thank you very much! Since we work in the catering industry ourselves, we immediately noticed that the friendly young lady and the lovely young man served this huge outdoor area in pairs, always smiling and approachable at any time - even if some things may have taken a little longer, that was our full satisfaction Respect! Unfortunately disappointing visit. The taste of the food was below average and for us it was the worst Vietnamese we've ever had. The papaya salad had hardly any seasoning. The fries at the Bao Burger were cold and the meat wasn't tasty. The BBQ chicken was not served with grilled pineapple as described on the menu, and the chicken was oversalted and tasted warmed up.

I go to Ong Tao Vegan or this restaurant very often.. I am always very satisfied with the freshness, the taste of the food and drinks.. there is also a large vegan selection here.. the portions are large, you will always full and always want to eat more 😁 The waitress with the stylish sunglasses was very friendly and attentive and was able to give me good advice when deciding which dish to choose. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, especially the cranes in the entrance are very inviting and give you the feeling of being in Vietnam. We will always come back! Thank you 💗💗💗

Recommended if you're vegan/vegetarian! They have a variety of different food options for vegetarians and vegans! Nice! However - it is not fully authentic Vietnamese. Therefor minus 1*. Plus point however is the really nice atmosphere at the restaurant. Very well decorated!

Had food to go, so I understand that the food loses quality. Still, it was really mediocre. I have to say that the price is relatively good. But the quality is also so-so. 1. Bun Bo Hue: Broth is okay, but the meat didn't taste that fresh or tasty. Couldn't eat all meat because of that. I also think it's a shame that only beef is included. It would still have to be chả Huế or viet. Add breakfast meat. If you think about it, I would rather go for Pho Bo instead of bbh. 2. Com suon nuong : It was okay. The marinade didn't come out that way, so it tasted a bit bland. It would be nice if there was sauce with it because the meat was a bit dry, just with rice. Tastes very fresh, think good. Salad came with it, but it was a bit brown and not that tasty.

I will not recommend this meal to anyone. The soup I ordered had a terrible smell and a thick layer of fat. The noodle in the soup and the soup broth were totally tasteless. Unfortunately the service was very poor. When asked for recommendations for rice menus, noodle dishes were offered... so total nonsense, very bad experience.

My Visa card was charged twice and I am still working on it.

Despite hearing some negative opinions from my friend group, one of my friends still took me to the restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, with amazingly grilled and tender meat. The weather was nice, so we sat in the front garden, which was so pretty. It's a beautiful location for a night date with the lanterns adding a charming touch.

The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, we really liked it. You can sit very nicely in the garden. All dishes (starter, main course and dessert) were delicious. We liked Pho #16 the best. The service was very attentive. Price/performance is right here. From 6:30 p.m. the restaurant fills up quickly so make a reservation. In summary, a very good Vietnamese restaurant 👍

We are almost always very satisfied. Tasty, friendly, fast. Sometimes we can't be reached by phone to reserve a table and sometimes an order is misunderstood, e.g. a meal for the child remained spicy even though we asked that the spicy ingredients be left out. Therefore a star deduction.

Very cozy place but we didn't like the food, I ordered chicken curry, the sauce had a mango flavor, the curry wasn't noticeable, we also ordered a soup and it didn't have the flavor we expected

The food was super delicious! Very busy and therefore unfortunately very loud. Unfortunately the acoustics are not particularly good. But super close to the exhibition center and therefore a recommendation. Very inexpensive ;)

Very tasty food. Prices ok. Service very attentive. There is also something for vegans and vegetarians. The passion fruit mango sorbet as dessert was really good. Menu layout takes a bit of getting used to.

Very good authentic Vietnamese cuisine. We have now tried the menu up and down and have never been disappointed. The service staff are sometimes a bit uncoordinated (maybe new employees?), but always friendly. There is also a nice outdoor area in summer.

BEWARE OF THE LONG WAITING TIME! It was a sunday evening and the restaurant is almost fully seated, we waited around 5mins after getting seated and we still didnt get the menu. We needed to ask it for ourselves. We got the drinks pretty fast but the food came after waiting for over an hour. The servers were understaffed and stressed, brought food to the wrong table but were nice. The food that we got varied wildly from the quality, the meat from 20 was very delicious, the broth of the Phở (13) was okay but nothing special. And 18, the meat was overcooked and burnt, they also forgot the sauce.

Ordered via Uber and wanted to pick up. After 30 minutes, when I arrived I was informed that something went wrong with my order and was canceled without informing me. I waited another 30 minutes. I don't understand why a simple pho takes 30 minutes, there are almost no guests in the restaurant (2, 3 tables maybe). Most importantly, pho doesn't taste as good as before. Very disappointed with the food and unhappy with the service.

Unfortunately, I can no longer fully recommend Ong Tao. We have had several very late (>120 minutes total) and/or incomplete deliveries.

The food was very tasty, but unfortunately our order was forgotten so we had to wait a long time. However, this was also the case at other tables. Orders were brought to other tables who hadn't ordered it. There is still room for improvement in service. The apologies came across as very exaggerated. Maybe they'll get another chance to do better.

Nice place that aesthetically recalls Vietnamese atmospheres - it must be very pleasant even during the summer because it has an outdoor space for tables, illuminated with colored lights. Wide choice and nice short paragraphs on the menu which explain in detail some names of typical dishes. The service is also good. The only thing I didn't like too much was that the room where we ate had the tables very, very close together. Lots of noise with all the people talking, difficulty getting between tables if you have to get up to go to the bathroom etc. We were in the center of two other two-person tables, it was practically like there were six of us at the same table... a little too cramped.

Very nice restaurant. Very good food. Unfortunately it's always very full and most of the guests shout at a level that makes it no longer celebratory. So you actually need ear plugs to be able to eat there comfortably.

Super delicious Vietnamese food. Not just the standard dishes like Thai curry from the Thai around the corner but special Vietnamese dishes with fresh ingredients. The staff was also very nice and the facility was very pleasant. All in all, you feel comfortable here

There were three of us here for dinner. I ate pork belly. The meat was good, but the side dishes were a bit bland. A spicy sauce with it would have been great. My neighbor had a vegetarian dish. That was super tasty. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was really nice. I'd love to come back and try something different. It's definitely nice to sit outside in the summer.

The starters were very tasty, but the main courses didn't convince me at all for the second time at Ong Tao. The dishes at our table were so bland that the seven of us almost emptied the entire soy sauce bottle. I had a vegan noodle soup in which not a single ingredient tasted like anything. Not even the broth.

Most bad experience with Pho Bo. I ordered Pho Bo from Ong Tao today. BUT! I was very very very disappointed!! Pho Bo with undercooked beef. How can I eat this? If you want to deliver, just don't deliver! Really this is incredible!

Very comfortable atmosphere, also quite full on a Monday evening, always a good sign. The food was hot and delicious, I also had a fresh tea (which could have used one citrus slice less, but all good). Price below 20€ for meal and drink.

A wonderful restaurant with a warm and welcoming environment. The service is super fast and attentive. The meal was excellent! I was here during a trade fair. I felt very comfortable here. If the opportunity arises, I would like to come back. 😃👍

We were not told that our reservation on the Friday evening was only for 1.5 hours. Because of the city traffic and during the trade fair and rail strike, we arrived 15 minutes late for the reservation and had to eat pretty quickly like in the canteen to get ready. No goodwill, no accommodation. Instead, profit maximization without prior notice. If we had known that, we certainly wouldn't have made a reservation!

First of all, “reservation is best” so many were sent away again. Secondly, and that's one star less... the service was completely overwhelmed. Nobody was really responsible, they were running all over the place and you had to wait a long time until you were served. Speak to you more often and yet you were sometimes ignored. BUT the food was really tasty, everything was very tasty and well seasoned, even the dessert wasn't run of the mill. The restaurant looks rustic thanks to all the wood and is very cozy. It was well attended and therefore a bit loud in terms of noise. Didn't bother us much now. All in all we would come again.

Authentisches Essen in eigentlich guter Atmosphäre-vor allem im Sommer; der Biergarten ist genial. Aber, liebe Leute, eure Hütte ist kein selbstwärmendes Niedrigenergiehaus…. Im Winter darf gerne die Heizung benutzt werden. Dass dem Service warm ist, weil er alleine im vollgepackten Lokal bedient, ist klar. Aber die Gäste machen keinen Meter, deswegen darfs auch gerne warm Im Gastraum sein!

Essen bestellt, nach einer Stunde warten freundlich danach erkundigt - es sei vor 10 Minuten abgeholt worden - nach 2,5h warten wird die Bestellung storniert. Kann vorkommen, dass bei der Bestellung was schief läuft… Kunden am Telefon anlügen ist aber eine absolute Frechheit.

Sehr leckeres essen und auch etwas anderes als das typische vietnamesische Gerichte. Hausgemacht Limonade sehr zu empfehlen. Wir sind begeistert, werden wieder kommen. Reservieren oder pünktlich zur Öffnung empfehlenswert.

Very good, friendly service. Food came out hot and quickly. It was full of flavour, although their chicken broth tastes like it contains chicken powder instead of being made the traditional way. Still delicious though. Spring rolls were hand made and bursting with flavour. Big recommend!

Super leckeres Essen. Größe der Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Es gibt verschiedene Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarische Gerichte. Das Essen unterscheidet sich von anderen asiatischen Speisen und ist nicht das sonstige Einerlei. Cocktails kann ich auch sehr empfehlen, aber Auto bitte stehen lassen. Die haben es in sich. Speisekarte gibt's sowohl analog als auch digital.

雰囲気の良い落ち着けるお店。 英語のメニューは無かったが、ベトナム人の店員さんが英語で丁寧に接客してくれた。 フォーをズズッと啜って食べたら周りの視線を感じたので、啜って食べるのは辞めた。

Ich war heute spontan alleine da und man war sehr hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker (Vorspeise: Suppe mit Tofu und Hauptgericht war eine Bowl mit Rinderfilet und Mungobohnen.) Loved it, komme gerne wieder!

Ganz toller Laden! 5 Sterne in allen Punkten. Super netter Service, herzlich, zuvorkommend, aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Das Ambiente ist sehr hübsch. Wir saßen drinnen. Draußen war schon winterfest gemacht, ist im Sommer aber bestimmt zauberhaft. Das Essen war auch hervorragend!

Waren früher dort sehr gerne und wollten seit langem mal wieder hin. Es war eine absolute Enttäuschung. Haben uns erst noch gefreut, als wir trotz voller Bude ohne Reservierung einen Tisch nach etwas Wartezeit bekommen haben und haben daher auch nicht erwartet, dass das Essen in 15 Minuten auf dem Tisch steht. Allerdings haben wir dann 1 Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet, dass bei uns lauwarm und bei mir teilweise mit kaltem Rindfleisch ankam. Die Aufmachung war nicht so liebevoll wie ich es von früher kannte und die Portionen waren echt klein. Als ich auf mein fast kaltes Essen hinwies habe ich nochmal 20 Minuten auf meine aufgewärmte Portion gewartet. Die kam leider auch wieder mit teilweise kaltem Gemüse an und ich entdeckte dann noch dass Zwiebeln drin waren, die ich nach dem Hinweis auf meine Unverträglichkeit eigentlich nicht drin haben wollte... Werden dort nicht mehr hingehen, das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hat stark nachgelassen.

Una bellissima scoperta. Un locale carino e curato nei dettagli. Il personale è gentile e disponibile, unica pecca il menù è solo in tedesco, ma con il QR code ti porta al menu online e la traduzione è abbastanza semplice. I piatti sono buoni, le porzioni abbondanti e la scelta ampia. Consigliato!

Wir waren schon öfters im Ong Tao essen und haben immer andere Gerichte probiert. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und (soweit ich das beurteilen kann) auch authentisch. Das Restaurant hat einen schönen Außenbereich, der mit verschiedenen Lampions dekoriert ist. Neben dem Essen ist auch die selbstgemachte Limonade sehr zu empfehlen.
