I had a not so positive experience at Ong Tao while having lunch with my husband on July 2024. The food not up to par according to the price, and the attitude of the waitress was not friendly. Photo of the original review attached, as well as the proof of payment which seems to be removed now. I was just trying to share my experience so that others could know and the business could improve accordingly. Since then the business has been trying to take down my reviews for different reasons which customers also need to know.

You don't have to love the ambiance 100%, but the food was very good. We were immediately assigned a table without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We ate at a restaurant today and actually really enjoyed the visit – until we discovered a large dead fly in our food towards the end. It was truly shocking and absolutely unhygienic. Even though we didn't have to pay for the meal, the thought remains very unpleasant, as you don't know what bacteria or germs you might have already eaten. The server was very friendly and responded immediately, for which we would like to thank them. However, something like this should never happen in a restaurant. Hygiene and cleanliness must be taken more seriously here.

My business partners and I ate here tonight. Excellent and quick service, and the food and drinks were both prompt and extremely good. It had a good atmosphere and a varied crowd of different people eating. Three of us had a starter and main course and one drink each, and it was less than €30 each. I’d definitely recommend - especially if you’ve worked at the Messe exhibition all day and don’t have the energy to go into the centre of Frankfurt for evening meal with colleagues.

The food lacked the quality one would expect for the price. The curry dish was especially disappointing- overly salty, with tofu that was deep-fried and greasy. Overall, the meal didn’t quite justify the cost. However, the outdoor garden offered a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

We've been here several times. The food is good, though we didn't necessarily experience a flavor explosion. There's a wide selection, and the ambiance is very nice; it can get a bit noisy inside when there are a lot of people. The tofu dumplings with mushrooms are highly recommended :)

The staff was very accommodating to the guests. When we arrived and were waiting for a table, the staff came out without greeting us, just walked along with a few people, and told us to find our own table. When the food arrived, it was bad. I ordered a bowl of bun cha, and the noodles were cold. Otherwise, the atmosphere was cozy.

Very unpleasant experience unfortunately. We went there for dinner with friends and had the traditional soup. Taste was mediocre. I asked for a small extra several times to be served. Asked 2-3 waiters but still ignored. Gave up asking at some point.

Good restaurant. The food was delicious and came very quickly, even despite several large groups. Unfortunately, it got very loud. And the service seemed a bit disorganized. We had to wait a bit for our drinks and reorder.

Beautiful restaurant, near Rebstock park. Atmosphere outside is so nice! Super friendly service! Food quality is very high and the dishes taste delicious! My friends and I had different plates, but all three of them were spectacular! Vegan duck, chicken curry and ribs BBQ. This curry - mango - Kokos sauce is incredible! Thick and full of flavor. No watery curry, huge chunks of chicken, not just some little pieces, how you find in many other cheap restaurants. SUPER VALEU FOR THE MONEY. Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Frankfurt and in the region. I'll be returning there to try the other dishes. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Beautiful location, especially outside. We've been here several times, and the service has improved over time. Sometimes we had to wait a long time for drinks/food, but that's not the case anymore. So far, we've always enjoyed everything, whether it was the appetizer or the main course. If you're looking for something truly special, you probably won't be happy here, but otherwise, it's perfect!

I had a great evening at Ong Tao! The vegetarian food was truly delicious – the spring rolls and vegetable noodles were fresh, aromatic, and simply amazing! The staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. One star deducted because I ordered my dish without soy, but it did contain soy, and I got regular Coke instead of Coke Zero. Still, a definite recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine!

The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We really enjoyed it because you can sit in the lovely garden, and all the dishes (starter, main course, and dessert) were delicious. Pho #16 was our favorite. The service was very attentive. The value for money is right here. After 6:30 p.m., the restaurant fills up quickly, so it's best to make a reservation. Despite the many positive reviews, we were unfortunately very disappointed. The food was rather mediocre in taste and in no way justified the price.

I ordered food via a delivery app, and the portion size of the fried rice was tiny, and the cardboard box was only half full. For almost €16, that's outrageous. Whenever we ate there, everything was always great.

A wonderful Vietnamese restaurant with an atmospheric terrace and an authentic menu. Goi Cuon and Nem Nướng Sàn are very fresh and aromatic, the chicken curry is rich and tender. The refreshing Viet Mule is a great accent to dinner. Everything is beautifully served and very tasty. We will definitely come back!

What a wonderful dinner! We sat outside on a warm evening and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The service was fast and attentive, and every dish was delicious. We had spring rolls as an appetizer, followed by Pho Ga and the #18 noodle salad. I was very hungry, so I ordered the #21 spare ribs as an extra, which were absolutely delicious. This place definitely made it to our list of favorite restaurants in Frankfurt.

Sitting comfortably in a shady garden in over 30 degrees Celsius and being pampered with excellent food and drinks: that's what you can expect at the Vietnamese restaurant Ong Tao in Frankfurt am Main, Am Dammgraben 102. We were there with five people. The exceptionally friendly service staff arranged tables and chairs according to our wishes, so that our wheelchair user could easily find a seat. The service employee gave us very detailed and competent advice on selecting food and drinks. All orders were taken very quickly, even though the restaurant was very busy. The food (five different dishes) was served to everyone at the same time. All dishes, desserts, and cocktails were freshly prepared and simply delicious. Special requests were easily and simply accommodated. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

A very nice atmosphere outside in the garden. You can sit comfortably under the trees, which is especially pleasant on hot days. The service is very friendly and attentive. The dishes are a good size and taste delicious. The value for money is very good. I will definitely come back. I highly recommend it.

Once again, the Hessen Consumer Protection Agency has been criticized for blatant hygiene deficiencies. Food service has been prohibited. The restaurant issues warnings and then deletes negative reviews.

We dined here yesterday where the wonton soup was extremely salty, with each wonton costing €2 but containing almost no filling—just wrap-making it very poor value for money. The fried vermicelli was decent, but the cashier provided poor service. He refused to let us pay by card and was reluctant to give us change after we paid in cash, even though he had already asked for a tip. He came across as quite greedy. On the positive side, the restaurant had nice facilities, tasteful decor, and was dog-friendly.

I made a reservation with my group and visited this Vietnamese restaurant that locals go to. The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly, but the rice noodles were just average. Fortunately, they recommended the monk beer(?) that you can only drink in Germany, and it was delicious. When paying, you can pay for each person's food and drinks, and they ask for a tip, but unlike in the US, there is no mandatory percentage, so you can pay comfortably.

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine with an atmospheric setting - there's even a street food truck. Cozy and comfortable seating areas both inside and out. We especially liked the appetizers - even more than the main courses, although they were tasty too. Be sure to try the fresh coconut - very refreshing and a nice complement to the food. The location is not the best, but if you have a car, parking is no problem.

Lovely Vietnamese cuisine in the shadows of the park trees. Make sure you make reservation. And avoid pork belly with rice noodles, somehow it was quite blend.

I would give this place not five, but ten stars! I liked everything - from the interior to the last bite of food. A very cozy atmosphere, attentive service, impressive interior. The food is just great! I especially remember the summer rolls with fish sauce - fresh, tasty, authentic. Shrimps in coconut breading - just delight! The whole dinner felt like a gastronomic journey. And the cocktail with lime and ginger was the perfect end to the evening. Frankfurt is famous for its international cuisine, and Ong Tao is a worthy addition to this list. Definitely worth trying if you are in town!

A true favorite! The atmosphere is simply gorgeous, especially on the terrace in summer. The food is delicious and absolutely fairly priced. The cocktails and mocktails are especially recommended – creative and really well-made. The teas and spritzers are also truly delicious. I love coming back here again and again – an all-round feel-good place with great taste.

I would like to share my experience with you openly, impartially and transparently: -The ambience inside and outside is good. -The service staff (except the male waiter) is absolutely unprofessional and rude when it comes to constructive criticism. -The food is not fresh and is reheated several times, the meat is limp and is fried with the previous type of meat from a different animal, etc. -The vegetables are flabby and not crunchy because they have been sitting for a long time and are just thrown into the wok. -The sauces are also not fresh and are prepared in advance in quantities and only warmed up. -After a complaint, the waiter and also the boss replied like “everyone eats that” or “no one else complains” or “they don’t have to come back” I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who has any idea about good food. The menu offers a great selection of traditional Vietnamese dishes, all fresh and prepared with love. Every dish we tried was incredibly delicious and authentic in taste - simply a delight! Despite the high crowds, which clearly confirms the popularity of the restaurant, the staff were consistently friendly, attentive and eager to ensure that every guest had a pleasant experience. You always felt welcome and in good hands. The location is also ideal, especially for visitors to the trade fair – just a few minutes away. Parking was also uncomplicated: we quickly found a parking space on the side of the road in the immediate vicinity. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a warm atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

The food is good, the portions too. Affordable price for the quantity.

The lemonades are delicious and the shop is nicely decorated. Despite the high-quality ingredients, the food is unfortunately bland and ultimately overpriced. Loosely rolled summer rolls that consist of 50% rice noodles and main courses that fall far short of expectations based on the description on the menu. It's a shame, because Ong Tao Vegan shows how good it could be.

We ordered from Ong Tao via Lieferando. After over 1.5 hours there was still no food. We were told by phone that the food had been out for over an hour, which the delivery service could not confirm. Even though we always enjoyed the taste of the food, such poor customer service is really more than annoying.
