Very friendly service, everything was quick and easy. The atmosphere is fantastic! Only the food itself is better. I've never had such perfectly breaded chicken anywhere else: melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The drinks are a bit pricey, but worth it because you can tell they're made with care and not just random juices mixed together. The portion sizes are also excellent. The value for money is truly outstanding. All in all, a great experience and highly recommended.

The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly at first, and even though the restaurant was completely full, they patiently took our order. The food arrived correctly, was attractively presented, and very tasty. However, one of us found a hair in our soup. The soup was replaced. We noticed the staff refilling the soy sauces. However, they were using a Sprite bottle. This wasn't very appetizing, and frankly, I found it questionable from a hygiene perspective. We ordered cocktails to finish. The waitress accidentally knocked one over while serving it. Unfortunately, some of the contents ended up on me and in my hair. The waiter saw my sweater and replied, "You can wash it." Yes, you can, but it's not ideal on an early Friday evening. I would have appreciated it if the cocktail had been offered on the house as an apology. Nevertheless, the food was very tasty and I would recommend it.

Amazing, simply amazing. Very friendly, fast service, the food is delicious and beautifully presented. Wow. It's a little cramped perhaps, but everything else more than makes up for it.

Every time my family and I visit Dortmund, we go to Ong Bui for dinner. We're always happy with the service and the food is always excellent. The salmon platter is especially recommended, or for adults, a glass of mojito.

Went here for dinner, the ratio of price to food you get is very nice. The prices are very worth the portion you get. Staff is responsive and very friendly with all customer. It is reccomended to visit this place of you love vietnamese/japanese cuisine.

The place is doing great! Fresh, flavorful food, a well-balanced variety. Unfortunately, it was a bit hectic and loud, but okay, it was Saturday at 7 pm. Everyone wants a table at that time.

An Asian restaurant with really good food and friendly service. Highly recommended. We were there Friday evening and had to reserve a table. There were no more seats available. You get a lot for your money, and it's delicious. The only slight downside was the cramped space and the air quality. It was quite busy, and the tables were very close together. The restaurant can't be blamed for the surrounding area, but you wouldn't want to walk through it alone. It's a big city, after all.

We made a spontaneous reservation today (originally for two people) and ordered two sushi dishes and two udon noodle dishes with crispy chicken. The sushi was okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the udon noodles and the vegetables were very mushy and clearly overcooked, so we sent both dishes back. The ambiance is generally nice, but the seating is very narrow. Every time the waitress walked past me, I was bumped into, which became unpleasant after a while. When we were asked how the food was while they were clearing the table, I mentioned the overcooked food. Unfortunately, this was completely ignored, which I found very disappointing. Overall, a mixed experience – a nice atmosphere, but significant room for improvement in both the food and how they handled criticism.

I live near Duisburg and drive all the way to Dortmund just to eat this sushi. And it's worth it every single time. I've never eaten such amazing sushi, and I usually hate sushi. But this sushi tops everything. The staff are also incredibly nice and friendly. We even ordered the wrong thing, which was my fault. But they were so kind and turned a blind eye and immediately made a new order for us. I would recommend it to everyone.

It's incredibly delicious! Everything I've tried so far has been a new explosion of flavor. You absolutely must try the Ong Bui soup with coconut milk!! I come to the restaurant twice a week. The staff is incredibly attentive, and you feel very welcome. I feel like I'm visiting friends. The prices are reasonable. It's usually quite busy, so it's best to make a reservation.

We enjoyed our visit to Ong Bui. The interior and ambiance are modern and inviting. Some tables are very close together, which is a shame, as it's sometimes difficult to have a conversation. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with photos to give you a good first impression. Our appetizers arrived relatively quickly. We chose miso soup, edamame, summer rolls, and ha cao. The portions were generous and we enjoyed them. Our main courses arrived shortly after our appetizers, before we had even finished them. We felt this was too fast. Nevertheless, the beef pho and the duck egg rice were both delicious. They accommodated our requests, such as omitting the cilantro, which is a nice touch! The restaurant staff was friendly and polite.

We were here for our anniversary lunch and I must say what a great resturant! Amazing food, the sushi was exceptionally fresh and delicious, the staff was kind and friendlly and a huge variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommended!

Good Vietnamese cuisine with Japanese fusion

First time there, very delicious food, very clean, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

Always a great experience. I already knew they had the best sushi in Dortmund and the surrounding area, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. But discovering they also make the best mojitos was a pleasant surprise on my last visit.

The service was very unfriendly; you could tell he didn't enjoy his job at all, which is understandable for a waiter—but I still don't think you should treat guests like that. We didn't think the curry was bad—it was quite heavy on (coconut) milk. However, we also ordered summer rolls and pho, which we unfortunately didn't like at all. Our summer rolls were 90% salad and herbs—no good balance between rice noodles and meat, and they were also slightly torn when they were served (as if they'd been sitting out for a while). We also shared a sushi roll, but I wouldn't recommend it—the salmon wasn't fresh and had a very strange texture. We also had a very strong fishy smell in our mouths after eating it, which shouldn't happen with fresh fish. All in all, it's a real shame because the place otherwise had a cute interior and a pleasant atmosphere.

I highly recommend it. The food was very good. The ambiance was just as good. I don't like sushi myself, but the other guests loved it. I had a large duck with an excellent sauce. There were four of us there, and everyone was very satisfied! You have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the restroom.

The menu is absolutely overwhelming; they would do well to simplify and reduce it. The food was average and nicely presented. The highlight was the soup as a starter. The salad garnishes, especially the carrots, were very dry and almost inedible. The ambiance was good. The combination of the menu and the service was a bit uncomfortable for us, as we couldn't decide what to eat for a good 20 minutes.

The summer roll and miso soup as starters were incredibly delicious, and the main course of udon noodles with duck was not only a very generous portion, but also extremely tasty! It's very busy; it seems to be one of Dortmund's trendy spots—and rightly so, in our opinion. The service was extremely friendly, attentive to their guests, and funny to boot! We had a pleasant chat... Excellent value for money, and we definitely recommend it in Dortmund! Go there!

We've been to this restaurant many times and have always loved it. Unfortunately, our last visit was a disappointment. Yesterday we ordered curry mango with roast duck and rice, along with tom yum soup and baked sushi rolls with salmon and eel. Shortly after dinner, neither I nor my partner felt well – we had severe symptoms all night, like we had food poisoning. It's a shame, but we hope the quality and hygiene will improve in the future.
