Traditional dishes served on modern tableware, just like in the old days. There are many cozy seating areas that look like oak barrels (or medieval bathing tubs). The service is also very warm and welcoming. I'm completely satisfied. The espresso is delicious, too. We'll be back soon.

We were there with a bus group and received a warm and friendly welcome. While some of us took a little longer to get our food, it was freshly prepared and tasted absolutely delicious! The price was right.

We had a wonderful Christmas party at Grandma's, and everything was very pleasant. The service was friendly, the beer was good, and the beautifully presented food was a real treat. We were all very satisfied, and we'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work!

The two stars were for the good food, and that was it! Anyone booking a Christmas party should clearly state in advance that the kitchen closes at 9 pm and the restaurant closes at 10 pm! On our way home, we saw many other groups still enjoying themselves at the restaurant! For us, the evening ended with being kicked out!

We were there for dinner on Saturday evening with a group of five couples. It was wonderful! The restaurant is cozy, and the decor is lovely. The service was prompt, always attentive, and very friendly. The menu is concise yet very varied! The tableware is modern and attractive, making it a pleasure to eat off. On our plates, we consistently found delicious dishes, such as market-fresh grilled vegetables, homemade spaetzle, wonderful dumplings, and the house specialty: rosemary potatoes. The quality of the meat is outstanding! Whether it was the rump steak, the beef roulade, or the pork schnitzel, the meat was consistently beautiful, tender, and cooked to juicy perfection. The schnitzels were crisply breaded and fried. And they came with creamy sauces. Someone here really knows their craft! Hats off to the owners! Unfortunately, we only come once a year, but we will continue to do so with great pleasure and the certainty that we will all leave satisfied. I was not entirely happy with our table, but I addressed this openly. The fact that it was crowded didn't change the situation, and ultimately the good food and the lovely service made up for everything.

Delicious and traditional cuisine with good value for money!

Here you'll find classic German dishes that taste really good. The atmosphere is rustic, yet very well-maintained. There's also a hidden beer garden, which we'll definitely visit in the summer. My personal highlight, of course, is the impeccably clean restrooms, which perfectly complement the overall impression.

I had schnitzel, which was pretty good. I had to order before 8 p.m. because the waitress said the kitchen closes then. But others who arrived after that time could still order.

Today, October 4, 2025, we were guests at "Grandma's Cooking Pot" for the first time. This young and very friendly couple only took over the inn on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. We are absolutely thrilled with the organization and friendliness! The food was incredibly delicious and artistically presented. We would gladly give more stars if possible! We would love to come back and can only give you huge praise! Keep up the good work, you are a super friendly team! ♡

Quaint atmosphere and friendly service. I visited for the first time because of the good reviews and I was very disappointed. The roulade was dry, and I couldn't even swallow it with the gravy, as it was a Sauerbraten gravy, and that absolutely didn't go with the roulade. The red cabbage was very small and from a can. The side salad wasn't well dressed, with almost nothing but oil on it. Maybe it was just an oversight, but I won't subject myself to that again.

Very rest of the restaurant unfortunately we did not eat there, we will make up for it on our next stay in Aschaffenburg

All the dishes in the photos on the website are incorrect. The menu is completely different; you're simply put on the spot, so eat what's on the menu or leave.

A lovely rustic ambiance with good, home-style cooking and friendly service. I highly recommend it, and if I'm ever in Aschaffenburg for a course again, I'll definitely eat there again.

I had dinner here today with a large group (over 40 people). Everything was very well organized. The food was very good, and the service was very friendly. Everything was brought to the tables with good time management—which is difficult with a large group! I would go back anytime! The food is homely. Beef roulade, sauerbraten, and much more delicious. Yesterday we went to Omas Kochtopf for the first time. I was really looking forward to it because I'd read and heard only positive things about it. Unfortunately, my meal didn't impress me at all. The roulade was so dry that I could only swallow it with the dumpling and sauce. It was a real shame and disappointing.

I stopped here for the first time and was absolutely thrilled. Friendly and polite service, delicious food just like grandma used to make, and a cozy atmosphere. I was very pleasantly surprised and would gladly come back.

Cozy beer garden on the Main River, very friendly people there. And the food is amazing! A delicious schnitzel, dumpling soup, and boiled beef! It tastes just like the name of the restaurant! We'd love to come back.

In summer, be sure to sit outside. Reservations are required. Excellent service with good recommendations. My roulade was excellent. Everything else was, too.

June 20, 2025 At 5:15 PM I was greeted by a very friendly waitress: "You can sit wherever you want." I gladly accepted and chose a nice spot. I decided to sit inside, even though a small beer garden with shade beckoned outside. But in the heat, I found it more pleasant inside. For starters, I had soup with an excellent liver dumpling. An Oberdorfer Helles beer accompanied me. For my main course, I chose a roulade. As an expert on roulades, I can draw good conclusions about the cuisine. And I was not disappointed. The main filling was a carrot. The highlight, however, was the delicately made paste with which the beef was coated before it was rolled into a roulade! Beautifully made and delicious! Highly recommended, I would go back anytime. The name of the restaurant fits. Here it is again: the good old Kitchen. Yet not old-fashioned, but with a certain modern flair.

Wir kamen mit hohen Erwartungen und die sind auch nicht enttäuscht worden. Auch wenn es keine Oma mehr gibt so wäre sie doch sehr stolz auf ihre Nachfolger. Das Essen, Sauerbraten bzw. Lachsfilet war hervorragend und wirklich wie bei Oma. Der Service war scnell l ,freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Preise sind mehr als günstig und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir hatten am vergangenen Wochenende das Vergnügen, in der Gaststätte Omas Kochtopf zu Abend zu essen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass wir kurzfristig einen Tisch bekommen haben und die Bedienung sehr schnell war. Das Ambiente der Gaststätte ist gemütlich und einladend, was uns zunächst erfreute. Auch die recht kleine Karte klang sehr vielversprechend. Leider war das Essen jedoch eine Enttäuschung. Der Tafelspitz war sehr trocken und ließ sich kaum genießen. Auch die Kartoffeln dazu waren nicht frisch, sondern bereits gelb und hart von außen. Das Rahmgeschnetzelte war unappetitlich angerichtet und wirkte qualitativ minderwertig. Die dazu servierten trockenen Spätzle trugen nicht zur Verbesserung des Gerichts bei. Wir haben unsere Teller halbvoll zurückgehen lassen, da wir nach wenigen Bissen bereits mit Magenbeschwerden zu kämpfen hatten. Insgesamt war das kulinarische Erlebnis in Omas Kochtopf leider nicht zufriedenstellend. Ich hoffe, dass in Zukunft an der Qualität der Speisen gearbeitet wird, denn der Service war wirklich freundlich und schnell. Leider kann ich aufgrund dieser Erfahrung nicht empfehlen, hier zu essen.

The inn with the charm of history impresses with its solid, smart cuisine. The team is friendly, fast and guest-oriented. The food: I can recommend the bouillabaisse and the meat dishes without hesitation. The portions are good and the price/performance ratio is perfect. All I can say to the team is 5 stars + keep it up.

Grandma's cooking pot, a really nice place to stop off. Super friendly and courteous service staff who greet you in a positive and cheerful manner. The dishes are well structured, so there is something for everyone and grandma can cook really well. We had a mixed salad and prawns first, as a main course a boiled beef and a Hungarian goulash with bread dumplings. Perfect and very rich. It was really great! Cheeky and unfriendly staff. We had dinner in the evening and the food was okay. While we were eating, a smell suddenly came from the kitchen like a drain without a siphon. When asked, the staff countered that it was up to us. Without words! Unfortunately not recommended!

The ambience itself is nice and old. The food, however, was a disappointment… game goulash meat was super tough and inedible. Veal schnitzel dry and the breading has fallen apart. Service was friendly at first but when we told them about the meat it wasn't very friendly anymore and as an excuse we were given a schnapps. Very very expensive in terms of price.

We ate there for the first time last night at Oma's Kochtopf because of the positive reviews. What can I say, the reviews don't lie - we were very impressed. For dinner we had Viennese veal schnitzel and a game goulash - both dishes tasted very tasty and were excellently crafted - absolutely recommended. The friendly service staff also contributed to a very successful evening. Always my pleasure!

We were there last Friday with 15 people and were very satisfied. I have to admit, the last time I was there was about 20 years ago and I was a bit skeptical at first. However, the skepticism quickly disappeared. The menu was manageable and not as cluttered as elsewhere, the service was top, the dishes we ordered all arrived at the same time and were cooked to perfection. The prices were absolutely reasonable and I wouldn't have a problem paying a little more. It was an all-round successful evening and definitely wasn't there for the last time.

The food is freshly prepared. Highly recommended is the roast young pig with red cabbage and dumplings, as well as the pork steak with fried potatoes. The service and the young man behind the counter are very friendly and attentive, so that you as a guest feel completely at home. We would be happy to come there again from Hesse.
