Cheeky and unfriendly staff. We had dinner in the evening and the food was okay. While we were eating, a smell suddenly came from the kitchen like a drain without a siphon. When asked, the staff countered that it was up to us. Without words! Unfortunately not recommended!

The ambience itself is nice and old. The food, however, was a disappointment… game goulash meat was super tough and inedible. Veal schnitzel dry and the breading has fallen apart. Service was friendly at first but when we told them about the meat it wasn't very friendly anymore and as an excuse we were given a schnapps. Very very expensive in terms of price.

We ate there for the first time last night at Oma's Kochtopf because of the positive reviews. What can I say, the reviews don't lie - we were very impressed. For dinner we had Viennese veal schnitzel and a game goulash - both dishes tasted very tasty and were excellently crafted - absolutely recommended. The friendly service staff also contributed to a very successful evening. Always my pleasure!

We were there last Friday with 15 people and were very satisfied. I have to admit, the last time I was there was about 20 years ago and I was a bit skeptical at first. However, the skepticism quickly disappeared. The menu was manageable and not as cluttered as elsewhere, the service was top, the dishes we ordered all arrived at the same time and were cooked to perfection. The prices were absolutely reasonable and I wouldn't have a problem paying a little more. It was an all-round successful evening and definitely wasn't there for the last time.

We expected a lot based on the positive reviews, BUT.... The ambience was very nice... but we got a very dark corner. Food came quickly... Kettle goulash was like a children's portion, 5 pieces of meat and 1 dumpling for 17.50 euros??? Pork loin was 3 pieces, one of them was tough as a shoe sole. Change of order of side dish was not taken into account. Too bad, very disappointing...

Wir waren spontan am Freitag Abend dort und haben gegen 19 Uhr mit Glück noch einen Tisch zum Essen bekommen, weil die Gäste gerade zahlten. Alle anderen Tische waren belegt oder schon wieder reserviert. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zügig bedient, auch das Essen kam sehr schnell. Alles was wir hatten war reichlich und sehr lecker. Wenn wir wieder in Aschaffenburg sind, werden wir bestimmt noch mal dort essen.

The very naturally friendly owner served us himself and also gave us very good advice. Grandma's cooking pot in Aschaffeburg stands for fresh, solid, down-to-earth regional cuisine in Aschaffenburg. The three breaded pork schnitzels we ordered with fresh mushroom sauce were very 😋. The schnitzels were freshly fried in the pan in clarified butter, which added to the taste. The fried potatoes were crispy and well browned. The seasonal side salad was also freshly prepared and marinated with a tasty house dressing. Overall, very good cuisine and a friendly innkeeper with a strong commitment to the guests round off this lovely visit. I'm a bit conflicted, service was ok, the food wasn't really. There were two of us and we had venison goulash, which came without a side dish but tasted good, and a salad plate. The salad with king prawns was extremely questionable. The shrimp themselves were delicious. But when I order a salad in summer, I expect fresh ingredients. The salad mostly consisted of canned goods; apart from a few large lettuce leaves that had to be chopped up before eating, there was nothing fresh in it. No trace of tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, etc. The bread that came with it contributed to the economical impression. You can sit quite comfortably in the small beer garden, although it wouldn't be a mistake to wipe down the tables every now and then. The ashtrays could also use regular cleaning. At first the lid seems like a good idea, but when you open the things, they give off such a bad smell that it even became too much for the smoker at the table. In any case, we won't be coming back.

Super cozy inn as you would imagine in Lower Franconia. The staff is super friendly and the menu leaves nothing to be desired if you like German cuisine. I had beef roulade with red cabbage and dumplings, which I really enjoyed. But you should consider serving the red cabbage in a separate bowl, otherwise it will swim in the excellent sauce for the roulades and lose its own taste.

Von der Innenstadt aus in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, auch ein Parkhaus ist in direkter Nähe vorhanden. Wir kommen gerne wieder vorbei.

The only positive thing was the good service. Exchanges were possible without any problems and were otherwise very attentive. It's a shame, before the change of tenant, Grandma's Kochtopf was a top address in AB for good Franconian cuisine.

.... well, I don't know... the pictures here in other reviews are all nicer than my food was - the schnitzel was completely sizzled - brownish, crunchy like crispbread - just like the spaetzle, some of which had me worried about my teeth - the romantic lighting in the back room doesn't make this obvious at first glance and the hunger after the ice rink prevents you from making unnecessary complaints - but unfortunately it wasn't really good, sorry - it looked a bit like yesterday's food in the deep fryer again was warmed up and something like that is either heard or forbidden - only the mushroom cream sauce and the side salad were good!
