Olympia in Bad Salzuflen

No understanding of the restaurant... I arrived without a reservation and was escorted out of the restaurant shaking my head. I would have expected "just come in, we'll sort it out," and if we had just had a beer at the bar to pass the time. Disaster.

The food is authentic and fresh. The portion sizes are reasonable. The service is good, and the owners are very friendly. This has been our favorite Greek restaurant in the area for quite some time.

In summer, when the weather is nice, you can sit outside. The selection is good and plentiful, and the service is attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

Nice staff, but the taste is rather average. The menu has no surprises, mostly grilled meat with fries and a side salad. The latter was relatively bland with pink ready-made sauce.

Hallo, habe laut Karte im Internet Gyros überbacken mit Metaxasoße bestellt, dazu gebratene Peperoni. Laut Internetkarte 20 €. Bezahlt habe ich 26,50 €. Antwort: Karte nicht aktuell. Vergleichbares Essen gibt es für 13 € beim Sparta Grill oder Gabar Grill. Essen komplett versalzen fast ungenießbar. Ich rate jedem davon ab. Gruß

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Food was good. But I've also eaten better...

We were very positively surprised, we actually wanted to eat something quickly and the Olympia was still open. So we went in and we were warmly welcomed. The service was great and courteous and the food...mmmm delicious. It's been a long time since I've had such a juicy, crispy gyro. Only the ambience could be a little more "Greek", but that's not that important. Conclusion is, we come more often...

Gastfreundschaft wird hier groß geschrieben! Das Essen ist super und der Service immer aufmerksam. Wir lieben die Atmosphäre im Sommer gerne auch draussen auf der grossen Terrasse. Hier kann mann Essen, Atmosphäre, Essen und Ouzo mit guten Freunden genießen!

Good food and good service, worth a visit

Again everything is very good. Sat outside in the nice weather, food was delicious. Very friendly. Everything came to the table without much waiting.

A new operator, the rooms have remained the same, they sometimes needed renovation. Shocked at the prices, I expected a lot. The tables are careless, the cutlery is simply in the jug on the table and has something of a brewery feel to me. The salad beforehand was iceberg lettuce with minimal coleslaw, 1 olive and a pepperoni and ready-made dressing on top. Afterwards I had a farmer's plate. Fries, gyros and liver. It was too heavily seasoned, the liver was quite plain, there were 3 small strips and €18 for that. The price and quality don't match at all.

Really recommended. Very tasty and at really fair prices. We definitely won't be there for the last time.

I was there with my family and rarely received such a warm welcome. The waiters are extremely friendly and the food is delicious. I have never tasted such juicy and tender meat. I can only recommend this restaurant! A true Greek restaurant. The food was prepared quickly even though it was very busy. We'll definitely be back, thank you!

It is and remains our favorite Greek restaurant; I could eat my fill of the delicious starters alone. Fried aubergines (be careful, a huge portion, if you want to enjoy a main course you should share), gigantos (broad beans gratinated), grilled peppers, tzatziki anyway and, my absolute highlight, Bujurdi; Baked tomatoes/peppers in tomato sauce with cheese - so incredibly delicious! If you don't always want to eat gyros or souflaki, which are always tasty, you should try number 48: buttery pork fillet with herb butter and fries. Mmmmhhhh, yum

Either we have had a bad day or we are too spoiled by Greek hospitality. From us only having ready-made sauce and not being able to use fresh mushrooms, to sachets of ketchup instead of a bowl, I think we've had every occurrence. But the story at the next table was the real highlight. The senior asked for a good ouzo “the one for friends” and got some. So I ask myself, what did I drink? Because, to be honest, good is something else. Conclusion, you can eat there. But I would rather go somewhere else. Yamas/Jámas

Sehr gutes Essen. Guter Service. Immer wieder gern.

Essen schmeckt nicht. Lachs,Feta schmeckte wie vom Lidl. Gemüse hatte keinen Geschmack und war nicht frisch, sondern aus der Tüte. Service war okay, allerdings wurde mein Essen vergessen.Der Rest des Tisches hatte das Essen schon. Bei den Pommes fehlte das Salz.

Leider ein ganz schlechter Abend: um 19.40 Platz genommen, Karten kamen dann um 20.15 und um 20.30 durften wir Getränke bestellen. Essen erst wenn die Getränke am Tisch sind sagte uns die Bedienung, die freundlich war. Also um 20.45 Getränke bekommen (über 1 Stunde gesessen!). Um uns herum die Tische, die nach uns kamen, hatten schon lange Getränke und Vorspeisen auf dem Tisch. 21.15 Uhr kam das Essen dann endlich! Das war auch solide und bodenständig gut. Beim bezahlen haben wir uns dann aber fast entschuldigt an dem Abend gestört zu haben, kein Ouzo für die Wartezeit, kein Lächeln oder sorry für die nicht gute Service Performance. Ein Service hätte auch mal fragen können ob noch Bedarf an weiteren Getränken besteht, wir fühlten uns absolut nicht willkommen. Schade, kein Bedarf an Wiederholung!

Sehr nett. Schöner Biergarten. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam, die Getränke sowie das Essen ist in guter Qualität zügig da. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Reservierung eines Tisches ist ratsam.

Wir waren das erste mal dort zum Essen aber bestimmt NICHT das letzte mal . Sehr netter Empfang, sauberes Ambiente und sehr leckeres Essen, der Service war auch sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich dort wohl. Preis Leistung war absolut in Ordnung. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend im Olympia . Danke

Einfaches aber sehr leckeres griechisches Essen. Das Wirtsehepaar ist sehr gastfreundlich und zuvorkommend. Hier geht keiner hungrig nach Hause. Wir sind immer wieder gerne da.

Restaurant mit Außenbereich,dieser kürzlich neu gestaltet, lädt zum verweilen ein. Sitzbereich komplett überdacht. Alle Speisen super angerichtet und immer sehr lecker. Aufmerksame Wirtsleute. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Having waited over 3 years to come back to Germany the only place I had in mind was here. The restaurant was exactly as I'd last seen it, and I hoped the food was still as excellent. I need not have worried as my meal was every bit as wonderful as I remembered. The only down side was waiting for my wife and her family to choose as the menu offers a good selection. The beer, well, what can I say, when in Germany and so close to Herford, drink Herforder Pils. I hope that it won't be 3 years till I next experience this gastronomic pleasure

DasEssen war hervorragend, Abweichungen von der Speisekarte kein Problem. Dabei kein Preisaufschlag!

Das Restaurant bietet gutes griechisches Essen zu normalen Preisen an. Das Mobiliar und die Toiletten sind schon etwas älter, aber alles ist gepflegt. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und auf Zack. Extrawünsche wurden ohne Probleme erfüllt. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Having family in Germany when we visit we love to eat out, and for me the best is Restaurant Olympia. The meals are all freshly made, and taste beautiful. The staff are very welcomming, even to a non German speaking guest, although they do love it if you try the odd Greek frase. And, being close to it, the serve the famous Herforder Pils beer, draft!! That in itself is worth the visit. The meal itself consisted of 4 large main meals, 1 large beer, 1 medium beer and a large bottle of sparkling water, and came to the grand total of 50 euros!! Beat that if you can. Possibly my favourite restaurant anywhere I've visited. I will be going back.
