OLIVA Food Münchner Freiheit in München

I'm usually skeptical about kebabs from train stations, but this one impressed me not only with its taste but also with its friendliness 👍

we had the seitan kebab twice with no problem. today i ordered the cigkofte, one of the three vegan options because i wanted to try something new. i should have known something was wrong bc the workers did not seem to know what i was talking about when i was just referring to their menu. and then the guy making my wrap seemed uncertain while he was making it and kept trying to put non vegan sauces on it and i had to keep saying NO! VEGAN!! anyway the protein on my wrap was cold. i heated it up in a pan when we got home and ate it. it seemed fine. then ~5 hours later i woke up PROJECTILE VOMITING. and then it happened again a few hours later. and again a few hours after that. i am not a person who gets sick easily and i haven’t vomited since 2017, so i know there was something seriously wrong with the food i ate from this place. these people poisoned me. they probably knew it was rancid and just wanted to make a few extra bucks. Absolutely repulsive i wish i could sue them for my troubles.

For the price, the doner kebab is very small and rather average.

Tiny portions for exorbitant prices and unfriendly service to boot.

I'm a frequent customer; they have the best veal döner in Munich with the best staff. Always a pleasure.

I enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast (large portion) for only €5. The service was excellent and prompted me to write this review. A very friendly employee, Nurettin, allowed me to have breakfast like royalty half an hour before the place even opened (even though I realized I was €2 short). He even paid for my breakfast out of his own pocket, which made my day. Of course, I'll bring the €2 I was missing on my next visit. But it's important to emphasize that it's truly not something to take for granted, and it's rare for people to be so understanding in such a situation and, on top of that, so friendly to a stranger. Great value for money, large, delicious portions, and excellent service—I highly recommend it! Thank you :)

The doner kebab in the basement of Münchner Freiheit is highly recommended. I've rarely eaten such a good doner kebab.

Great value for money €8 for halloumi, couscous, grilled vegetables, and of course, salad, tomatoes, onions, etc. There's also a large selection of sauces (herb, garlic, cocktail, spicy). Highly recommended!

Good chicken döner kebab sandwich. Better than others that I have had in Munich. The hot bread and cooked seasoned meat smells permeate Münchener Freiheit. Now 8€, which according to Google is the average price for 2025. Service has been good.

Came here for a quick takeaway lunch and had a chicken döner for 8€ which is not cheap for a regular sized one. Anyway taste was quite decent though nothing extraordinary. Asked for spicy and he did put some on but genuinely no spicyness at all to it. No big deal but a lil weird. Overall decent spot for a quick meal.

Delicious, but they're absolutely condescending towards their customers. Especially the old guy with the dyed-black hair. He snaps his fingers in his customers' faces and tells them to move aside.

I highly recommend the Chicken Doner Plate. A good and plentiful selection of doner meat, salad, fries, or rice. Couscous is also available as a side dish. I really enjoyed the dishes, and they agree with me. I'll be back and look forward to my next meal.

This "OLIVA Food" is located on the mezzanine level of the Münchner Freiheit subway station and is a takeaway food stand with a few seats. They offer chicken or beef kebabs, sucuk, and kofte, as well as falafel and halloumi as vegetarian alternatives. My wife and I had a falafel or kofte box, where we could vary the side dishes (lettuce, tomato, onion, sauce, couscous, or rice) and the spiciness. The kofte were spicy, while the falafel was a bit dry. Other than that, we enjoyed it as a quick snack. The dishes are also labeled halal.

I tried the beef kebab (no spicy, with everything). Unfortunately, the taste wasn't quite worth the €8. I think charging €3 for a Spezi is a bit steep. But I'll try the other skewers—maybe they'll be more appealing.

The doner kebab wasn't good at all. I ordered a veal doner kebab, and the meat was cold. He asked me if I wanted a doner kebab with everything, but he only gave me a tablespoon of everything. I had to specifically tell him I wanted more. The meat was dry and flavorless, the sauces weren't good, and the whole doner kebab was just bad. Worst doner of my life.

I have eaten döner at this restaurant once while i wanted to grab a quick bite. The meat taste was very faint and actually not enjoyable. At the end just ok to feed your hunger nothing more.

For my wife and I the best kebab in Munich Schwabing and the surrounding area

2 years ago: We had our first lahmacun, man, how delicious! Deliciously filled with anything and everything. 2 pieces for only 15.60 euros. Really recommended!!! March 11, 2025: just bought a lahmacun at the local pizzeria and we are still talking about this one from Oliva. We have never had such a tasty lahmacun as here!

I get food here more often. Unfortunately today the kebab was really not good. Bland, poorly seasoned and not packaged well. Please make a little effort for €8. Otherwise I can go straight to Türkitch.

I had to edit this post and add a few stars and remove the name of another store because my post was reported by the owner and then blocked. Feedback doesn't seem welcome. The kebab was okay, but really just average. Be careful, the salespeople *pick you up* while also *disrespectfully reprimanding you*. I definitely won't eat at the store again. Absolutely *unheard of and a no-go*, I have never experienced that anywhere else (neither Munich nor other cities) It's better to get out of the station *around the corner to another shop with a nice pun in the name* - it takes a little longer, but the quality of the kebab and the service are worlds better and the staff treat you decently.

Lahmacun very tasty - a little spicy through its own fault, but it shouldn't be a problem for experienced buyers.

Falafel Dürüm was very tasty. The staff was very friendly and seemed to have fun at work. Gladly again! :)

Not a good kebab. Meat is mushy, pide are pre-baked and taste rancid. Laden rests on the fact that he is the only kebab on the subway. Nevertheless - do better!!

Everything looked good at first glance. The salad, vegetables, etc. were fresh BUT the veal simply smelled. How bad the meat was, I couldn't eat it. Both the smell and the taste were just like meat that had gone bad. I said this when paying and the seller wasn't surprised at all or contradicted me. He just said it would be delivered to us and we would tell the boss.

Very rude employees because the food tastes mediocre and the employees forget your order and then argue with you because you don't want to eat a kebab with sauce. To be honest, if you want a good kebab with nice service you take the 2 minutes go up to turkitsch and save yourself this back and forth and insults.

The first impression of the skewers and salads was quite good. I thought it tasted very good for Munich standards. Top: rice not from the microwave, but from the rice cooker...

Forst Kebab in Münich and I can tell it will be hard to beat. Juicy flavourful and quick. Only thing was the atmosphere during the some October fest clients.

The meat was almost raw and only made 1 turn before being cut off. I don't understand that, because you would just have to take a little more time and let the skewer brown and then it would be a good kebab. So unfortunately unacceptable. I had to throw out all the meat.

If you can't even fold a Dürüm, don't even try it. Just blast it into the aluminum foil and everything will leak out.

The food is really delicious! What doesn't work at all is that they give out kebab boxes in cardboard. I paid €9 for a falafel box that was so soggy after 3 minutes that I was forced to throw it away! This concept is neither practical nor well thought out! It doesn't work at all!

If you want to lose weight, you've come to the right place. Delicious at first bite, I didn't notice because of the spices that the meat wasn't cooked properly. Food poisoning for partner and me. Maybe it was because of the time (Saturday night) that people didn't pay attention to it, but days of pain weren't worth it.

Good taste, but steep in price. The OLIVA kebab shop in the Münchner Freiheit subway station offers delicious grilled vegetables and, among other things, well-seasoned chicken. The sauces are okay, and using rocket as a salad in kebab, dürum or lahmacun is a change, but it doesn't necessarily have to be... The service was friendly and there is seating, but the background noise of the subway can be clearly heard, which spoils the atmosphere while eating. Overall, the taste was delicious, but the price of €9.50 for a lahmacun is quite high. For the price you can certainly find much better value for money in the surrounding area!

The food was okay, but the service it was not good it was really bad. I have asked for the toilet and they said you can use the public toilet, how can this happen in one place that called RESTAURANT and have the service to eat there not just takeaway to not have a Toilet ! I don’t go more in this place never 👎.

Was there for dinner yesterday - Whit Monday. Never again!! That's just a joke! The compilation of a Dürüm there is below all 🐷. It was inside: cold dry meat, rocket salad and yogurt sauce (which was OK). No onions, no coleslaw! When asked about the missing onion, the answer was: it would be a holiday! What's that about? But extremely expensive! I've never eaten such rubbish in my life.

So dear people, 4 years ago the price for lahmacun with meat was 4.95 euros. After that it went steeply uphill (okay because of inflation at the time...) from 6, to 7, to 8. - then last week 8.50 euros and 1 week later you try the 9.50 euros. Sorry, the taste and the portion are mostly okay, but something has clearly gone wrong in terms of price/performance!!! The ingredients are also saved... Today was the last visit!!

Meat is of very poor quality. There was cartilage in almost every bite and the kebab was therefore inedible! For 8 euros I expect something different!

My usual place but I must say the Pommes I got today were not edible. Maybe it was old oil or something else but I really good not eat them, bad taste, sluggish form. Please, please, take better care of quality control.

I can totally understand the bad reviews, whoever writes here that the seller is nice or something similar is part of the crew. I'm easy to please, but the tone is disrespectful, food is thrown on the counter in front of everyone. That's not how you handle food, he didn't pack it properly and put it crookedly in the bag while he was talking to others and not paying attention. Not even a goodbye or a look is out of the question, very shameful and embarrassing to let something like that work at the checkout, because the packaging was open and crooked, a lot of things came out, the box broke the bag, the transport was catastrophic. For the food 3-4 stars, ambience is irrelevant, staff preferably 0 stars. Very disrespectful.

1 star is such great compliment for the worst Döner I had in this place for the highest price!! The bread was very low quality and cold, the meat was tasting terrible and very cold and uncooked, and the sauce was too fat, in general it was the worst Döner I have ever had in my life! Everything was terrible.

Basically, the kebabs are okay, but I've had almost no fried vegetables in them several times - I don't think raising prices and then adding fewer ingredients is okay. The employees are very friendly.

Top for years, large portions, good prices, quiet even though it's right on the Münchner Freiheit subway. Well furnished modern and quiet thanks to extra walls. We were just here again really great and very nice
