Odysseus by Nikos - Griechisches Restaurant in Bad Salzuflen

Rather average. The Metaxa sauce is tasty, but the red rice is quite dry. The liver portion is tiny. What's completely unacceptable: The pastry-wrapped appetizers were frozen ready meals. The dining area is incredibly loud; a civil conversation is impossible.

I highly recommend Odysseus. The food is excellent, and the service is attentive and friendly. The value for money is also great. The subtle Greek music in the background is pleasant, complements the ambiance, and doesn't detract from the relaxed conversation after your meal. Smokers can enjoy the terrace, which is easily accessible from the restaurant. What can I say? Try it for yourself and... be amazed!

There were five of us, and the food was delicious. The service was also very good. We'd love to come back. The only thing that bothered me was that there was no complimentary ouzo. 😂

Overall, always a pleasant experience; however, limiting the time window to just 1.5 hours is unacceptable! Not every guest intends for a Greek evening to be solely about eating. Furthermore, it's a shame to serve an otherwise excellent dish with a sauce that doesn't deserve the name. A bit more homemade would be welcome. Otherwise, the portions are generous and the meat/fish is of very good quality!

Definitely recommended. It was just extremely busy during our visit, and the staff were understandably stressed, and the appetizers weren't served until the main course. We also missed bread for our tzatziki. The food is excellent, everything freshly prepared. The hosts are super friendly.

We had a reservation for 6 people...they told us straight away, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m....it's strange to specify this time frame. It would never have been enough even if we'd had dessert. The food came quickly and was plentiful and good. In the back room, the long table was occupied by about 14 people....terribly loud...unpleasant. I then paid and unfortunately didn't look at the receipt, otherwise I would have said something right there....one souvlaki was too much...we had it wrapped!! For a meal of €180, they charge €0.80 for the packaging!!! I think you're having too much fun. The fun has to stop somewhere. Next time, people bring their own Tuppa pots and pack their own food. Great food. A fantastic selection of appetizers. However, I found the space to be overcrowded, with too many tables, which made everything very cramped and left little privacy at your own table. The noise level was also very unpleasant. The service was a bit disorganized; orders weren't brought, and we ended up being overcharged.

We were at this restaurant on July 5, 2026. The garden was beautiful, as was the service. Now for my review. The salad was a mush of coleslaw, a slice of tomato, and cucumber. The main course was 53 gyros and fish skewers with champignon cream sauce. The sauce was tasty, but two spoonfuls over the skewer were meager. The large burger was sliced ​​as thinly as ham without any grilling, and the flavor was okay. At 18.50, you could probably call it sakiki for a large burger, but that's far from it + 4 euros. I wouldn't say the fries are better; any takeaway can do better. I've never complained about a restaurant before, but this time I couldn't help myself. We invited our best friends, and they were also very disappointed. We won't be ordering this again! Okay, even though I'm from Bad Salzuflen.

While I was in rehab here in Bad Salzuflen, I was in this restaurant. I must say it had a lovely atmosphere. Very tasty gyros with souvlaki, delicious sauce and fries. There was also a salad which was also very good. I have never in my life had such a delicious gyro plate with souvlaki, everything was freshly prepared. The staff are top notch and very friendly. Kind regards to the whole team.

We had a few unforgettable hours in the Odysseus restaurant. Everything was simply wonderful: a very nice welcome, friendly, quick service, where no special requests were too many, beautiful surroundings outside with the olive trees and the colorfully painted olive oil canisters. We were there for the first time, had a rehab in Bad Salzuflen, I ordered a table because it was my wife's birthday, when I asked if a bouquet of flowers could be provided, we immediately agreed. Now to the restaurant, a super warm welcome, great atmosphere, the table was beautifully prepared. The food was super tasty, very generous portions. Dishes were beautifully prepared, just great. We immediately ordered another table. It is highly recommended here.

That was heavenly!! And simply everything. We were initially greeted as if we were old regulars. So warm and familiar that you immediately felt at home. The service remained warm, one ouzo before the meal, one after. Then bread with a delicate Greek olive oil - all free. The three of us then shared some starters, all of which were fantastic. My highlight was the octopus. Super tasty and grilled to perfection. I'm sad that this restaurant is so far away. But to everyone who visits Bad Salzuflen or even lives there: you have to go here. A little tip: making a reservation is probably a good idea. We were lucky and got the last table. The store was packed on a Monday.

We were in this restaurant last year. We liked it back then. We went here again this year and it is still as excellent as we expected. The portions are large and the quality is great. I found it very special that a bowl of cucumber slices was put out for the little ones with the "adult" starter without asking. I had never seen it in a restaurant before, I thought it was great - and so did our boy.

Unfortunately the service has deteriorated significantly. After paying, but I still had something to drink, we were asked to vacate the table so we could sit at the bar and finish our drinks. Even while eating, the “boss” was constantly looking at the clock. We sat for just 1.5 hours. The food is ok, but a bit more expensive. If you want a quick Greek meal without spending unnecessary time, this is the place for you.

Super atmosphere, Service and most importantly delicious food. You instantly feel welcome when entering and the service was at any time on point. We chose a variety of starters (great portions while also having fantastic taste). Same as for the main dish. Also we have tried and purchse their self-produced olive oil which tastes amazing as well. In the summer the ambience on the terasse is wonderful. The restaurant is also dog friendly. Contrary to some reviews, we were skeptical at first. But what can I say... It couldn't be better. Great attentive staff. There was an ouzo first. The portions were so big that I couldn't finish it. The products were all fresh and very 😋. We thank you for the lovely evening and will definitely come back.

I was very disappointed with the food! The grilled liver we ordered was tough, full of tendons and almost inedible. Sauce was delivered upon request, but unfortunately it was thick instant mush. I then ordered a starter (eggplant with feta) instead. Unfortunately, this was also hardly edible. Very oily and eggplant completely overcooked. Unfortunately not recommended! Even though I didn't have to pay for the main course, it was still a very disappointing visit to the restaurant. As if we were leaving the restaurant after paying, neither the boss nor the waiter said goodbye to us. That's not right! Too bad.

I asked which of the dishes were also available in smaller portions. I was given information very kindly. Then first came a small salad that was very fresh. However, with the red cabbage the vinegar bottle must have been accidentally used three times. Then came the gyros with rice and tzatziki and onions. The meat was really very tasty and well fried. The tzatziki was also tasty. However, a thick tomato sauce was poured or pasted over the entire dish. So the rice tasted not only sticky and musty, but at least sweet. The onions and meat had their own taste you guessed it. It was just sweet and pungently tomatoey. When asked, it was said that this sauce can be found on all dishes in this restaurant. I found it remarkable to pass this off as typically Greek. The room itself was simple and nice.

We were very impressed and can only recommend it. The food was great, there is absolutely nothing to complain about here, but the extremely feel-good atmosphere is a real unique selling point. We were welcomed very friendly and served attentively and that applies to every person who came to our table. The food was served quickly and we enjoyed it very much. There is an indoor area and a terrace where our "favorite spot" is slightly elevated and offers a beautiful view over the colorful terrace. The Odysseus is a restaurant you'll want to come back to.

The summer garden is really nicely decorated, with lots of flowers around it. People like to sit outside here when the weather is nice. The food is good, but the portions have become a little smaller compared to previous years. Prices are affordable. The service is good.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt, so als wären wir Stammgäste, waren aber zum ersten Mal dort. Der Service war super! Schnell, aufmerksam und wirklich sehr sehr lieb! Die Portionen sowie das Essen an sich waren lecker und wirklich ausreichend. Trotz gut besuchten Restaurant waren die Wartezeiten auf Getränke, Vorspeise sowie Hauptgerichte ein Witz. Sehr schnell! Wir sind satt nach Hause gegangen und werden definitiv wieder kommen!!

Was recommended to me as a top restaurant when I was a guest in Bad Salzuflen. Five of us visited the restaurant. Dry gyros and souflaki. Bifteki not well seasoned and drowned in a tomato champion cream sauce. The sauce ruins the dish. When we asked before ordering, we were assured that the sauce would come separately in bowls with each dish. A pity. It was very loud in the beer garden because it was right on the street. I won't visit this restaurant again.
