Why travel far away when the "good" is so close? That's how I would respond if I were to describe the Odinshain forest inn. Cuisine and culinary art of the highest quality, always fresh delicacies and changing daily specials, but also, upon request, good old "currywurst" for the hungry visitor. Extremely attentive and friendly service and an appealing ambiance round out the consistently positive impression. We always enjoy returning to the Odinshain to indulge our palates and award it a full 5 stars.

Very good quality and the ambience very tasteful

We celebrated my mother's birthday at Odinshein. The club room is comfortably furnished, but the acoustics are poor, making it difficult to have a conversation at the same time. The waiters were very friendly, and the restrooms were clean! We had a watery wedding soup with little topping, corn-based breast in curry sauce, and pork medallions with mushroom cream all served on one (!) plate, so the flavors more than just touched. The vegetables were bland, and although they refilled them, they were very hesitant. Dessert: an ice cream bike set up in the garden, beneath truly beautiful large oak trees, with several flavors of ice cream available upon request. But there wasn't much ice cream; you got the scraps you could scrape together. There was also a plate of toppings full of acorns, leaves, and other tree stuff. Truly borderline! And all for the bargain price of €65 per person. We've been to Odinshein before and were very impressed. My parents ate there beforehand to see if the place was right for them, and they were impressed. But this one was really bad, and my mother is disappointed and sad. I'm giving it one star because the price/performance (quality) ratio is completely out of sync.

We went there for the first time yesterday because our preferred restaurant was completely empty. It's a really lovely restaurant on the edge of the forest, with plenty of seating, parking right next door, and the food was absolutely fantastic. The value for money is really good, and the owner is super nice too 😁👍🏽 Our son had plenty of space to play and even got something nice to paint. We'd love to come back.

The food was delicious and the price/performance ratio was really good 👍👍💪💪 The ambience inside was also rustic/nice 👍👍💪💪 Unfortunately, the ordering of further drinks (after the first "two rounds" and the "schnapps round") was a bit slow 🙈🙈 But otherwise it was a successful evening for the four of us and we will be back 👍👍💪💪😃😃

A stylish inn with a very friendly staff. A warm welcome. The food was delicious. We'd happily return.

We returned here after a long time – unfortunately, the visit was rather disappointing. It started as soon as we entered the restaurant – four employees were standing behind the counter, but no one spoke to us, even after I said "good evening," there was no response. This lack of attention continued for the rest of the evening... The food was unfortunately also disappointing – the wedding soup was too salty, the steak was clearly not cooked to perfection, the braised onions were partly blackened, and the potato wedges were convenience food and completely lacking salt. The herring was okay, but given the (very small) portion, we would have expected better quality. Overall, the standards and price are far from the quality delivered. It's a shame, as we've had different experiences, but we probably won't be coming back.

The seating is lovely at the edge of the forest. The only slight inconvenience is the cars parked right next to the tables, but having a nearby parking lot also has its advantages. The food was fantastic and the service very friendly.

The food was super delicious. What we didn't quite like...the ladies were super nice...but maybe you should take note of the guest's requests if you can't remember them. Croquettes instead of the requested fried potatoes...that was immediately replaced...but a dessert that was expressly ordered without alcohol by two guests...was still served with it is not acceptable!! I didn't say anything because we were invited... But my husband is an alcoholic...if that had happened to him...

Great restaurant. They focus more on sustainability than quantity when it comes to meat. Very friendly. Top-notch. We'll be back. My 350g ribeye was excellent. Definitely recommended. We sat outside under the tree today; it's a very nice spot. The steak was really good, as always.

The service has somewhat declined. I ordered drinks that somehow never arrived. The atmosphere is great, both inside and out. The food selection is okay.

The food was excellent! However, I'm deducting two stars for the service. We had reserved a table for three people and were allowed to choose whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose the inside seat, had free choice of table, and unfortunately, nothing happened after we were seated. Only after I asked at the counter about 15 to 20 minutes later did our waiter come and apologize, saying he hadn't seen us. Okay, that can certainly happen since he served inside and outside. But, and I didn't think that was okay, the chef himself was serving several tables in our seating area and completely ignored us. We didn't think that was okay! The food itself was truly delicious, and our waiter continued to take good, attentive care of us.

We highly recommend the Waldgasthaus. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was excellent. Guests feel very welcome in the beautiful ambiance. Thank you very much, and we'll definitely be back soon!

We are always happy to be regular guests at the Waldgasthaus Odinshain in Adenstedt. The really friendly staff makes a visit recommended again and again. The cuisine is home-style with changing current offerings. We find the rooms good and familiar for an inn of this age. A tire renovation is also currently taking place. The boss is a person like you and me. Always a joke in store. But also a top chef. In short, you always feel comfortable. In summer, the beer garden in the adjacent forest invites you to take a break or go for an after-work session. You always meet some good friends. The fireplace room, which reopened in December 2019, is new. You can spend lovely evenings with family and friends in cozy niches. We always look forward to a visit to the Waldgasthaus Odinshain Jens Winkler and Ariane Laux

The Odindhain is a lovely little guesthouse with a cozy ambience. The prices are sometimes quite moderate, even if the portions are very manageable. Unfortunately the portion for the fried potatoes was very small. To be fair, I have to say that the food was quite tasty. The conditions are very friendly and accommodating, not intrusive or unpleasant. In my opinion, a visit to Odindhain is worth it. It is advisable to reserve a table here.

I arrived there with three people on May 1st around 2:30 p.m. and we sat down at one of the free tables in the beer garden. Since no one spoke to us after about 20 minutes, we were simply ignored by the visibly overwhelmed waiter, We then called the waiter. When he heard that we wanted to eat something, he asked us if it would be enough if he just brought us a card?! We then ordered drinks, beer and mineral water, for which we then had to wait another 15 minutes! Instead of a small beer, a large beer was mistakenly brought, but the additional price was politely not charged. We then decided to leave the restaurant, no matter how good the food was, However, if the service doesn't work at all, this restaurant is absolutely not recommended!

Many thanks to the team, We ordered a table for forty people for a family celebration and are very satisfied. Everything worked out. The contact was very warm, the food and drinks were excellent and the service was attentive and courteous. The entire complex is very well maintained and beautifully located. Special thanks go to the team around Mr. and Mrs. Hartwig for opening their restaurant especially for us on a rest day. We were at Odinshain a few weeks ago as part of a birthday party. So far we have had good experiences. Unfortunately this time it didn't happen. Together with the birthday child there were 14 of us. There were schnitzel with paprika sauce and with mushroom sauce. Beforehand there was a good, salty wedding soup. Personally, I really like salt, but that was a bit too much even for me. But the schnitzels were still on the way. The schnitzels arrived, hot and good looking. Plus the sauces, croquettes and fries. When it came to the croquettes it was immediately clear that they were "convenience food", the fries were probably rolled in starch or something similar and were therefore very crispy and good. Ketchup and mayo were more convenient, but who makes that themselves anymore? The schnitzels were ok and as far as we as laypeople could judge, they were homemade/breaded. The sauces again seemed like a loveless convenience. Mushroom sauce too weak, hardly any taste. Paprika sauce too sweet, barely able to taste paprika. Then there should be ice cream. Since we had children with us who didn't want to wait as the restaurant had planned, we quickly preferred the ice cream. The funny thing here is NOT that the children didn't get any ice cream when it was delivered AND the children's ice cream that came in advance was charged separately. Too bad. Then we slowly got through what was missing? Coffee and cake! Clear. Unfortunately we were served Coppenrath and Wiese cake, not that it wasn't tasty, but we would have expected something different in a restaurant! E.g. a cooperation with a baker and not convienient cakes. Overall, the staff, as long as the temporary help was there, was quick and at least reasonably friendly. Unfortunately, when the temporary help left, things went downhill. If you now consider that everything together cost a four-digit amount with a 1 at the beginning, unfortunately too little performance for too much money. Although we thought it was good so far, we definitely won't be coming back. It's a shame, because we like the concept.

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food that exceeded my expectations! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Everything is in perfect condition and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to my next visit.

The service here is excellent. The food is always beautifully prepared and tastes excellent. High quality wines are offered. All in all, we are always very satisfied here and are already looking forward to our next visit. A stay at the Odinshein is equivalent to a nice short vacation. Thank you and please keep it up.

Then don’t think, it’s harmful 😂 this is the best Pub that can be, the food is just super, not only is it delicious and very fast, my girlfriend and I were there for the first time, and we were extremely pleased, to be honest, we haven’t seen such a service for a long time, I mention the name (Bodya, you’re the best) Very quickly brought the dishes, very quickly brought the bar I really recommend this establishment, the service is bomb, the food is bomb, the comfort zone in this establishment is maximum 👌👌👌👌👌

Good food with obstacles Unfortunately, despite the really good food, I can only give it three stars because there were simply too many stumbling blocks during the visit. It started with the fact that we supposedly didn't have a reservation, although I received a confirmation by email, after a little back and forth, and after the reservation confirmation written by the restaurant appeared, a table was found for us. What can be said about the food is that it was really good in terms of taste and the meat and preparation, but unfortunately my starter was forgotten, so I took the starter as dessert. Next came the information that you can't pay with a credit card, but only with a debit card. I just think that's a shame and no longer up-to-date, especially since this notice isn't visible in the entrance area either. Luckily we still had enough cash with us. I think there will be a repeat to give the service a second chance.

Sehr sehr gerne sind wir im Waldgasthaus Odinshain zu Gast. Das Essen ist immer lecker und der Service perfekt. Mit freundlichen Grüßen wird man begrüßt und zum Tisch begleitet. Auch der Chef und seine Frau kommen an den Tisch und fragen nach dem Befinden. Auch die Küchenchefin kommt auf Anfrage und auch zum Bedienen oft an die Tische. Für Fragen und Genusstips stehen sie immer zur Verfügung. Das gemütliche Gasthaus lädt bei Schmuddelwetter genauso wie im Sommer der Biergarten zum verweilen ein. Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne und freuen uns auf die regionale Küche und die kulinarischen Events zwischendurch. Wenn immer wir es einrichten können sind wir zu Gast im Waldgasthaus Odinshain, ein Gasthaus mit Tradition.

First the good things! The quality of the meat was on every plate, the four of us were great. Now unfortunately comes something that definitely needs to be improved!!! 1. The seating... The Dino chairs are extremely hard. No pillow will help anymore 2. The bruschetta was in German below all..., for the price I've never had anything so bad 3. Sautéed onions looked more like onion soup and didn't taste good with the steak 4. After only 1 person of us ordered a bedside table and the others didn't want desserts or coffee, the waitress was never seen again A beer would have been nice again! Too bad.... Two people had never eaten there before and really wanted to get to know this restaurant.

It's nice to find such a good restaurant. The staff is very accommodating, the food was tasty, the portion size was good. The atmosphere is friendly, the parking lot is large. A reservation is necessary, also possible online.

We were in Odinshain for the first time on September 6th, 2024. We ordered schnitzel, 1x chilli hollondaise and 1x Jäger style with fries. Unfortunately they were frozen thin ready-made schnitzels. I would have found it more appealing if there had been at least a little garnish on the plate. None. The fries should have been fried longer. Instead of non-alcoholic wheat a normal one was served, no excuse for that, what a shame. The price-performance ratio is not right. Food had snack status.

Located in a quiet location, we were more than positively surprised. The service is very friendly, polite and attentive. The ambience is cozy and the “beer garden” invites you to linger for a while. The young service staff were very committed and enthusiastic about their work. Unfortunately, the neighboring table with 4 aging guests did not appreciate this. I hope when I get that old I don't behave like that. Nevertheless, the very young staff reacted brilliantly and handled the matter very confidently. Congratulations on such a good staff. The service left nothing to be desired, so everyone felt very comfortable.
