I sat at the bar and was served right away – and it was fantastic! The team behind the bar was incredibly friendly and attentive. You immediately felt welcome. Ashley, the waitress at the bar, was excellent: attentive, warm, and always with a smile. Drinks were served without a long wait, and I even received some advice on my meal, which was especially worthwhile. The relaxed, personal atmosphere at the bar, combined with such great service and live music, made the visit something special. A huge compliment to the team.

We were there yesterday with two couples and sat in the heated outdoor area. It was quite okay. It had a beer garden atmosphere. The food came very quickly and I would describe it as average. The beer, however, was very good. The outside closed at 10 p.m., but we were allowed to go inside. Then at 11 p.m., the place closed completely. At 10:45 p.m., the shift manager was already walking around and came to our table and told me I should get something quicker, as they were about to close. I found the tone and manner inappropriate and not particularly hospitable. We won't be visiting this place again anytime soon. Fortunately, there are plenty of options in Oberstdorf.

The staff was really, really friendly! I had the large knuckle of pork, which was impressive, of course. But the longer I ate, the clearer it became to me: it was already too cooked for my taste. I give the knuckle a generous 2-. Also a small deduction: no one asked how it tasted. Our outdoor seating was also significantly less attractive than anything inside or on the original terrace. It was a good overall result, but secretly I wish there were more. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Yesterday, to round off a wonderful day, we went to the Dampfbierbrauerei for dinner. It was an absolutely perfect evening. First, we, a couple with a child and a dog, were shown to a table. The usher noticed the dog at the next table and asked if our dog gets along with other dogs. Since we couldn't unequivocally confirm this, he assigned us another seat without any problems. The waiter immediately brought a drinking bowl for our dog and paint sachets for our daughter. Drinks and food arrived at our table in less than five minutes. Both the roast pork and the cheese spaetzle were a dream. For us, the kitchen strikes a great balance between quick and good food. Despite the restaurant being packed, the waiter (Christoph or Christopher) managed to fulfill our every request in a very short time and didn't seem hectic or stressed, but rather friendly and empathetic. This is completely new and unusual for us in restaurants in tourist areas. Thank you for the wonderful evening and the friendly and respectful treatment, especially with regard to the child and dog. <3

Always nice and delicious in the steam beer brewery.

I've been here for the third year in a row. The food was excellent every time and arrived very quickly, but it's probably as certain as amen in church that they're serving knuckles, so I don't see any problem with preparing a certain amount. The other dishes were also great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially this time. Nice outdoor seating. The live music was a bit loud for my taste when sitting inside. All in all, a definite recommendation.

I think it could be nice there. However, at least one of the waitresses treated us very rudely, presumably because she was annoyed by another large group, but that's hardly an excuse. The gentleman at the entrance was also rather edgy than friendly. The food was okay. The bread dumplings probably could have been cooked a few minutes longer, but the meat was very good.

The baked mountain cheese schnitzel with baked potatoes was delicious, the aspic was unexpectedly bland, and the fried potatoes were unfortunately too greasy. The beer is special. Worth a try for lovers of unusual varieties. Pure Bitburger or Karlsberg fans probably won't be happy here. The ambiance is rustic, typical of a brewery. The staff is very friendly and experienced. Bottom line: definitely worth a try.

August 8, 2025. Another LGBTQ-friendly venue. Very enjoyable, we wanted to support them, even if only with four beers, as we were on our way to the train. The wheat beer from their own brewery is highly recommended.

We visited the steam beer brewery in Oberstdorf. We really enjoyed it. We'll be back next time.

We ate there four times during our vacation. The food was delicious every time, and the service was excellent. The knuckle of pork and the roast pork had a super crispy crust.

The food and first drinks arrived quickly, but after that, the service staff weren't much to be seen. The outdoor ambiance feels like the garden area at a hardware store...cool if you want to buy potting soil, but rather useless as a restaurant.

What a wonderful place! The service was excellent, and we received our ordered dishes very quickly. Everything was delicious and well-seasoned. The dishes were regional, so we had made a perfect choice in our restaurant selection right from the start of our vacation. Incidentally, we bought the beer served here from a local pub. We took six bottles home with us at a very reasonable price. There was also live music on Saturday night. Fantastic.

A truly quaint and cozy brewery with excellent food and delicious, easy-drinking beers from its own brewery. Live music on some days starting at 6 p.m.

We were served by a waiter who, for some reason, was making fun of us. He also told a colleague about it. She deliberately walked past our table without making eye contact and then started laughing. We find this kind of behavior unprofessional. Fortunately, the other staff members were very friendly, especially the young gentleman with the piercings and long hair. He immediately noticed that we had a puppy with us and brought him some water.

The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. The food arrives in no time and is very fresh and hot. Dampf's tender Schmorbullen burger was the best burger I've ever eaten. The meat was super tender and juicy, and the burger was simply very fresh and delicious. And I think €21 is absolutely justified with a generous portion of fries and a small coleslaw. I definitely recommend trying the burger at least once. 👍

Very unfriendly, we were thrown out as a group with insults just because someone had a beer with them. We then went to the hotel Traube which was much better and the staff were nicer. We won't be coming back. We'd rather drink water than this beer.

On the last day of our holiday we went to the live music evening, great atmosphere, great music, very tasty food, very good service, and even though we only wanted to stay for a beer, we stayed until the end - we would love to come back

We didn't have a reservation, but after a very short time at the bar, we were assigned a table. The wait was good, and so was the food. The selection of different beers is very good and equally tasty.

The food was just below average, the service was great and friendly, but the live music from Vollgas Musikantenstadel drove us out of the house.

A quaint Bavarian restaurant with a wonderfully pleasant ambiance and clean restrooms, which says a lot. Guests still receive very friendly service here. Starting in 2023, you'll also be able to order half portions.

The beer is a delight – especially the house's own light steam beer is something very special and tastes pleasantly different from the usual varieties. The food is also impressive. The portions are generous and the value for money is good. The service was friendly, attentive, and always courteous, despite the busy beer garden.

In my opinion, it's a mass-processing tourist spot. If you like that, you'll feel at home here. Upon greeting, you're told you have to leave after 90 minutes. Bavarian coziness is out of place here. So don't get too comfortable. We had reserved a table in advance. The food arrived just 6 minutes after ordering. Prepared? Reheated? The food was OK. The service was super friendly and attentive. The beer tastes good. The price-performance ratio is OK. It was OK for one visit, but we won't be repeat customers. It's just a matter of taste.
