Oberstdorfer Dampfbierbrauerei in Oberstdorf

Super tasty food and also good beer which is not mainstream. Despite reservations, we felt a bit like troublemakers when it came to service. It may also have had a little bit to do with the fact that the restaurant was deservedly very well attended.

Always worth a visit, delicious food and great beer

We have been there many times and we are always thrilled. This is not for people who want to eat quietly and comfortably, as it is always full and therefore loud 😉 It is best to reserve a table in advance. We'd love to come back.

Here you have the best beer and very tasty, hearty food, as befits a brewery. There is usually live music in the evenings. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. If the weather is nice you can also sit outside.

Wow, what a great end to a week of skiing holiday in Oberstdorf. Live music, friendly and fast service. Were there as a group of 7 people. All dishes were super tasty and plentiful. The beer tasting according to the menu was also good, so we knew what to order as a measure. A good, hearty evening. Thanks to the whole team there. We rounded off the evening with schnapps and dessert. Prices are completely okay.

Everything runs like clockwork here, nice service, good beer and delicious food and all served quickly even though the restaurant was busy. Keep it up!

A very large restaurant with a typical Bavarian menu. It was very busy on Friday evening, but still super fast service and attentive staff. Even without a reservation you have a chance of getting a table, but then you have to be there a little before the evening rush hour.

Nice cozy eatery. Live music on Thursdays. Absolutely great. Good food. Just experience that everyone in Oberstdorf offers the same dishes, including here in Dampfbierhaus

The place is incredible, mysterious streets. This is a ski resort, each hotel is different from its neighbor. I have been to many cities in Germany, this city is unlike anything else. I want to visit here in the spring and walk the hiking route. This time we were with my youngest son .We climbed the cable car to a height of 1932 m. The tickets are not cheap, but it is worth it. We have not seen so much snow for a long time .The Alps in winter are incredible

Today we were in the shop/experience store PP of the Dampfbierbrauerei on Oststrasse We received very friendly and excellent advice from a very nice woman. We were also informed about the new beer hotel, which will be opening soon. All highly recommended!

We (two people) have been guests of the Dampfbierbrauerei for many years - but this time we were bitterly disappointed. Unfortunately, the restaurant is only designed for mass use. The table that had been reserved weeks in advance so that we could enjoy some of the live music was not planned; instead, we were assigned a place at the opposite end of the restaurant. You couldn't hear any of the music there - let alone see it. The friendly waitress then brought us the menu and the drinks came quickly. Unfortunately, when we ordered our food, we found out that a large number of dishes were "out" (of course from what we had chosen). How can that be - when you make a reservation, you can actually assume that the catering team has to expect a corresponding number of guests??? Disappointed, we left and instead had a delicious meal in the Traube and listened to the live music there. Conclusion: we definitely won't be coming back!

The knuckle is the biggest thing here for my husband. Extremely tasty with a strong crust. As it should be. But our plates of roast pork and beer goulash were also very tasty. The service staff was super nice, attentive without being intrusive. We also got to experience some of the Bavarian live music. I like this very much!! We'll definitely be back.

First of all: elderberry juice and beer were delicious. What made us suspicious was that the food was at the table just 5 minutes after ordering. We were able to observe the same thing at the neighboring tables (with a timer on our cell phone). Unfortunately, it was clear that the food was not freshly prepared. The fries were cold, the beef was stringy and the cheese sparrows were swimming in oil! This was communicated to the service staff, who took note of it. Not more. Unfortunately we paid 83.50 euros for below-average food.

Very good economy. We were there for the first time and will definitely come back. Food and atmosphere were very good. Personally it was a bit too loud for us, but that's a matter of taste. The good food and friendly service made up for it 😊

Vorweg: Das Bier und der Holundersaft waren lecker. Die Pommes zum Schnitzel Wiener Art waren fast kalt, Rumpsteak vom Zwiebelrostbraten war sehnig und die Käsespätzle sind im Öl geschwommen. Nachdem unsere 3 Gerichte 5 Minuten nach Bestellung am Tisch waren, haben wir an den anderen Tischen darauf geachtet..... Prinzipiell 5 Minuten, dies ist leider nur mit Bevorratung zu schaffen. Schade! Früher war die Dampfbierbrauerei eine Reise wert. Heute nicht mehr!!!

Perfect and friendly service and reception despite the “crowd” paired with great brewery cuisine, deliciously seasoned. The food on offer is as befits a brewery, we would be happy to come back.

For us, the Dampfe has been a must on every Oberstdorf holiday for at least 20 years.

Typical Bavarian brewery. Even without a reservation we got a nice place with our dog. Choice of food very good. Your own beer is a matter of taste. Service was very nice and quick. Will definitely come back on our next vacation.

We came here for dinner, and to be clear, we would have preferred not to. There weren't many dishes left, so we decided on a goulash and one cheese spaetzle. Although the shop was full, we got our food after less than 10 minutes, which suggests that the food was already ready and was waiting somewhere to be used. In terms of taste, this was forgivable with the goulash, but you could tell with the cheese spaetzle . However, the real disaster followed about 2 hours later when my partner started roaring at the toilet bowl like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park, which unfortunately lasted every hour throughout the entire night. Since I only tried a forkful of her spaetzle, I only noticed a rumbling in my stomach, but with her it was clearly different. One may argue where this extremely unpleasant situation began, but we spent the day together and ate the same thing for lunch, so it is unfortunately obvious that the spaetzle was the trigger here. We definitely won't be coming to this restaurant again. The food was average at best, the price was rather high. If you want to drink and sing to live music and don't care too much about the quality of the food, you're welcome to stop by, otherwise there are probably other restaurants that are better.

We have been observing for years that the service is getting worse and worse. Too bad! Food pleasant, most of the waiters not - many too arrogant.

Nice ambience. Great service that is also in a good mood when it is more than full. Always friendly, always a smile 😃 and then the delicious food. No matter what we ordered, everything was excellent. We'll be back.

Hut ab vor diesem Service! Trotz sehr hohem Gästeaufkommen immer freundlich und toller Service. Die bestellten Gerichte waren schnell auf dem Tisch und lecker zubereitet bzw. abgeschmeckt. Die Leistung von allen kann man gar nicht hoch genug einschätzen.

Reservations can be easily made online. Extremely beautifully furnished restaurant, delicious food and excellent home-brewed beer. Absolutely recommended.

Authentically Bavarian: 5 stars for the Oberstdorf steam beer brewery During my visits to the Oberstdorfer Dampfbierbrauerei, I was impressed by the quality and the ambience twice in a row. The restaurant presents itself in the best Bavarian tradition, with a home-brewed beer that perfectly matches every taste note. The dishes are hearty and exactly what you imagine Bavarian food to be. The portions are generous, so you can be sure you'll be full. The service was quick and very attentive both times. Particularly noteworthy is our waiter Ivan, who contributed significantly to our positive experience with his competent and friendly manner. For those who are looking for real Bavarian hospitality and value good food and excellent beer, the Oberstdorfer Dampfbierbrauerei is an absolute must. I give it a clear recommendation and 5 stars.

It was again a very good meal and a nice stay in the Dampfe. We were there with 14 (!) people including kids and had our orders at the table very quickly. Drinks as well as food. Absolutely within the price range and very, very tasty. We'd love to come back.

We booked another place before we go back to the Pott. Were there again today on December 21st, 2023 and it was very cool there again. Otherwise everything was as described above. I'll be back on my next vacation in Oberstdorf... Thank you very much...

Good beer. I can't rate food. Typical brewery atmosphere. Popular with tourists.

The food and service are really good! The drinks, especially the light ones, were also just great. Even without a reservation, you will somehow be accommodated, even if it means being seated at a strange table. Even if you wait at the counter, the light is worth waiting at the counter. 😊 The only point of criticism: For me there was always too little sauce in the dishes, so we always had to order more - nobody likes to eat dry food. After a bit of back and forth, the suckling pig was still super tasty. At first they said it was over, but then suddenly there were still two portions. 😌 We were there several times and the roast pork and the knuckle were also very good and highly recommended. I even ordered the light one online because I already miss it! We will definitely come back on our next vacation. Keep it up! (Hopefully with more sauce, it's so good)😄

The staff is quick and friendly. The pork knuckle is crispy and served with cabbage & bread dumplings/sauce. Phenomenal - both in terms of taste and quantity. The other dishes are also delicious

I have loved the steam beer brewery since my first visit almost 30 years ago. The service was great - as usual. What was annoying was that there were no more pork knuckles or associated dishes. It's doubly annoying when you plan your weekend around it and travel 80 km. The pulled burger ordered as an alternative was certainly poor in quality. However, I liked it. Then I noticed that I needed a meat cake. From a purely culinary point of view, it was rather “so-so” for me. Sure - pork knuckles are a must; But I could remember at that moment that this was the third time. Maybe You can also order 2 more pieces on the weekend. ;-)

Large brewery with typical Bavarian cuisine and beer. That means: the beer doesn't actually taste like anything! It's a shame because the service was good. There is no such thing as half. Only beer mugs or 0.3er for 3.40. That means half a liter costs around an impressive €5.50 I wouldn't go there anymore.

Ambiance, quality, friendly service

Absolutely great. We first took the brewery tour, which was very informative and of course we were also able to taste the fresh beer. Afterwards we ate very well. Went there again on Thursday for dinner, this time with live music. Then the party really got going. Great atmosphere!!!! And of course the beer is great 🍻

Visited here twice today. First we got a very interesting tour of the brewery. There was also delicious beer to taste and a great snack of ham and cheese on bread. We came here again in the evening and had a very good meal again. The atmosphere was nice, although of course noisy because of the many guests. The staff was always great. All highly recommended.

There is great beer here, but if you want to drink a pint you can only drink wheat, which is also quite good. Otherwise 0.3 beer or one measure. I'd love to come back.

The food was tasty, but definitely mass-produced. There was a live band on Saturday evening, which was cool. Nice atmosphere and very nice staff.

Had to wait for the bus. Drinking a small beer there for half an hour really tasted great. Waiters were also in a good mood.

Absolute must on your Oberstdorf vacation. The highlight are of course the beers, I personally like the light one best, but I can recommend the beer tasting to anyone who is undecided. Service is always very good too. Beer and food always come super quickly. As far as the food is concerned, I was very impressed with the grilled chicken, but my wife's enthusiasm for the goulash was limited. Nevertheless, we recommend a visit to all holidaymakers and if you are still looking for a Christmas present, ask for the “men’s handbag” ;-)

Very friendly service. But the food wasn't good. Two half dry knuckles with ready-made sauce, carelessly slapped onto the plate. The food was served after about ten minutes. Mass processing. Fortunately, this works much better in other restaurants, in Oberstdorf.

After making the online reservation, we went to dinner with your dog. From the reception to the service to the food, everything was impeccable. The price-performance ratio is great. We would love to come back.

Schönes Brauhaus mit Flair, sehr guter und absolut freundlicher Service; angenehme Atmosphäre, hier fühlt man sich wohl. Die Küche ist hervorragend. Wir waren während des Urlaubes mehrmals dort und wurden von keinem Gericht enttäuscht. Absolut empfehlenswert ist ˋ Deftiges Brauergulasch ´, feinstes Rindfleisch !

We have eaten here at least once during our vacation for 10 years. Beer, service and food very good. Great atmosphere when music plays. However, it is a shame that every reorder and every additional side dish ordered now costs extra. A dumpling extra €5.20, sauce extra €1.50, reordering such as: B. another supplement €2. I find that disgraceful.

Wir kommen jedes Jahr hier mindestens 2 mal hier he, weil es urig und zünftig bayrisch ist. Es ist immer rappelvoll.es, was kein Problem ist, da es drinnen und draußen viele Tische und Bänke gibt. Das Bier ist super lecker, das Essen typisch bayrisch und sehr fleischlastig, was nach einer Wanderung absolut passt. Allerdings hat meiner Meinung nach die Qualität etwas nachgelassen. Trockenes Hühnchenfleisch, Ente und Haxe. Und für Vegetarier ausser Käsespaetzle und Salat und Folien Kartoffel nicht allzu viel Auswahl und der Salat war leider auch nicht mehr knackig und ertränkt im Dressing. Hatte es von früher besser in Erinnerung. Schade.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed this time. There were nine of us there for dinner. Were looked after by a very friendly service. But she had to come three times to tell us that the dishes we had chosen were no longer there. A no go for such a large restaurant. We felt like we had to use up the leftovers. Too bad.

Quaint brewery restaurant in Oberstdorf, located directly at the train station and within walking distance, very easy to reach. The beer is drinkable and stands out from the usual beers. the service was friendly and quick. The restaurant was very busy at the time of our visit. Nevertheless, everything went like clockwork. I can definitely recommend a visit to the Dampfvier brewery.

Absolutely AWESOME, the staff is so friendly and attentive, you can't do it better, we had a great time in Oberstdorf and this TEAM definitely contributed to that. Be sure to take part in the brewery tour and the beer tasting (thanks Martin), and then spend the rest of the day there, tasting delicious food and other beers ;-). Nach 6 Jahren haben wir mit Freunden die Dampfbierbrauerei besucht. Der Leberkäse war für bayrische Küche ein Witz. Sehr dünn geschnitten, und die Portion war generell sehr übersichtlich. Beim Haxenfleisch mit Pilzrahmsoße musste man die Pilze mit der Lupe in der Tütensoße suchen. Die Bedienungen waren teilweise sehr unfreundlich. Das war unser letzter Besuch dort.

Actually a very nice place. I ordered cheese spaetzle and was very surprised that they came out of the kitchen about 3-5 minutes later. I think it looks different when freshly prepared. But they tasted good.

Yesterday we had a great and entertaining evening as a group of girls! The live music was great and we had the best time! The brewery tour was very interesting and the food was very tasty!😊🤩

Very tasty food...great ambience and great attentive staff

Unfortunately, after waiting an hour, the food was lukewarm and cold after 5 minutes. With the knuckle you can understand that it doesn't come very hot, but the bread dumpling wasn't even lukewarm when it arrived. The crust on the knuckle was so hard that you could hardly cut through it. The beer sauce itself was very tasty, but it was only lukewarm and there was very little in quantity. So the bread dumpling was cold, hard and far too dry... Ambience was very pleasant with the live music. With warm (fresher not stale food) and more sauce I would give it 4 stars.

Great brewery - the best lager I've had in a long time. Great service and really large/sufficient portions for the very fair prices. Went there again the following day for dessert and a beer. The apricot dumplings are recommended.

And the fries cooked in old frying oil! Knuckle portion has more fat than meat. We hope that this was a one-off and does not become normal
