We visited the steam beer brewery with a large group and had a truly perfect day! First up was the brewery tour. It was incredibly informative and interesting, and the absolute highlight was, of course, the beer spearing. A real experience! Afterwards, we had a fantastic dinner. The food was excellent, the portions generous, and the beer was top-notch. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, perfect for a lovely evening. Special praise goes to our server, Ramona! She took excellent care of our large group throughout the entire evening. Always friendly, quick, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly – truly superb service! In short: A trip that was 100% worthwhile. The best Bavarian hospitality and quality. We will definitely be back!

Whenever we're in Oberstdorf, we always go to the Dampfbierbrauerei (steam beer brewery) at least once. We've always had a lovely time and eaten very well. This time, however, my meal wasn't so great. I had Leberkäse (a type of meatloaf), which was really thin and tough. It was also partially burnt, as were the fried potatoes. It was probably a mixture of the food cooked in the previous pan and the one after. Normally, I wouldn't even mention it, since the rest of the food was very good. But when the waiter asked if everything was alright, I simply pointed to my plate, which was still half full, and said that unfortunately, part of it was burnt. He just shrugged, as if to say, "These things happen." That annoyed me a bit, since we always spend a lot of money there and like to leave a generous tip. He could have at least reacted differently.

Great atmosphere, incredibly delicious food and incredibly attentive service, we will definitely come back.

We visited a few years ago and unfortunately didn't have a particularly positive memory of the DBB. However, due to the many positive reviews, we wanted to give it a second chance, and lo and behold: we were rewarded. The food and beer were absolutely delicious, the value for money was excellent, and the service deserved a 10*. The music is debatable—but it's hard to please everyone's taste. One point deducted for the ambience, which is definitely nicer in the front (entrance area) than in the back. Conclusion: we'll be back 👍🏼

We come primarily because of the bartender with the long hair—an incredibly friendly and warm person! 😊 Always in a good mood, attentive, and genuinely interested in the guests. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The brewery is top-notch anyway, but his service makes every visit special. Highly recommended! 🍻

It's incredible how the staff can remain so friendly amidst so much hustle and bustle. By far the most child-friendly restaurant in Oberstdorf.

I think we were there on a Thursday, when they have live music. Everyone enjoyed the beer and the food. I really liked the opportunity to sample all the draft beers. Getting a table after 6 p.m. without a reservation is a bit of a hit and miss. We arrived around 5 p.m., and it wasn't a problem. The family was very satisfied. The service was very friendly and quick.

Goulash was super tender, the ham hock was unfortunately very tough, but crispy. Great service, fast and friendly.

A very quaint restaurant. A beer kettle, typical country-style decor, and waiters in traditional costumes characterize the interior. It's unfortunately a bit noisy inside, especially since there are often groups present with correspondingly high levels of alcohol. In my opinion, the prices are a bit higher than the food reflects. The food definitely tastes okay to good, the portions aren't incredibly huge; prices could be €1-2 lower. It's saying something when a pair of white sausages is more expensive here than at the market restaurant on the Nebelhorn. The beer is, of course, excellent.

My husband and I spent a wonderful evening there yesterday. The Alpenstreuner were great. The beer tasted so good, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The waiter, Yves, was simply perfect! We'll definitely be back.

On our first vacation in Oberstdorf, we visited the Dampfe several times. From the welcome to the serving of food and drinks, the service deserves 6 out of 5 stars. It was, always, absolutely, truly delicious. The food is worth every cent. It couldn't be better. A huge thank you. If we come back, the Dampfe is a must. Pray God bless you.

We were there during Oktoberfest. At 7:00 p.m., there was no pork knuckle or festival beer available. One of our group of five's food arrived after everyone else had finished eating. The server was a bit unfriendly. Otherwise, the atmosphere was good.

My knuckle of pork was once so seared on one side that I couldn't eat half of it. It was dark and dry, and there was no schnapps. Zero reaction.

Kind of crazy, we had reservations for 17 people, but we only had room for 12. You can do it, but you don't have to. The food was okay, but I'm not sure how the rating came about. The service was subtly passive-aggressive, and somehow you didn't really feel welcome.

I've been coming to the Dampfbierbrauerei since it opened. The beer is still delicious and good. Unfortunately, the food, like almost everywhere in Oberstdorf, has declined considerably. I'll only come here for a good beer from now on.

Busy steam beer brewery. Best to make a reservation in the evening. The beer here is first class. WOW 🙌🏼. As a woman who enjoys wine, I don't need any more wine. The food was very, very tasty. The service is good, but the comment that you can only stay for a certain time was inappropriate and partly gave the feeling of being rushed. If you make a reservation, your stay averages an hour and 45 minutes. Despite that, we will definitely be back when we're in Oberstdorf. P.S. You can also buy it on site 🙌🏼.

We've eaten there countless times on our vacations over the past 20 years. But this time we were totally disappointed. The worst cheese spaetzle I've ever had. The cheese wasn't flavorful and didn't wilt. The roast beef with onions was disappointing. Nothing was seasoned well. The salad was pre-made salad. It was just chopped into small pieces. Only the salad dressing was okay. We wouldn't eat there again. We've had better food everywhere in Oberstdorf.

We went there for lunch. The restaurant was very busy, and without a reservation, we wouldn't have been able to get a seat. Our server, Chris, was polite and attentive from start to finish. He even thought of our dog and brought him water. Chris also warned us that the food might take a while. He stopped by several times to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. Respect for the work they do there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I sat at the bar and was served right away – and it was fantastic! The team behind the bar was incredibly friendly and attentive. You immediately felt welcome. Ashley, the waitress at the bar, was excellent: attentive, warm, and always with a smile. Drinks were served without a long wait, and I even received some advice on my meal, which was especially worthwhile. The relaxed, personal atmosphere at the bar, combined with such great service and live music, made the visit something special. A huge compliment to the team.

We were there yesterday with two couples and sat in the heated outdoor area. It was quite okay. It had a beer garden atmosphere. The food came very quickly and I would describe it as average. The beer, however, was very good. The outside closed at 10 p.m., but we were allowed to go inside. Then at 11 p.m., the place closed completely. At 10:45 p.m., the shift manager was already walking around and came to our table and told me I should get something quicker, as they were about to close. I found the tone and manner inappropriate and not particularly hospitable. We won't be visiting this place again anytime soon. Fortunately, there are enough options in Oberstdorf.

The staff was really, really friendly! I had the large knuckle of pork, which was impressive, of course. But the longer I ate, the clearer it became to me: it was already too cooked for my taste. I give the knuckle a generous 2-. Also a small deduction: no one asked how it tasted. Our outdoor seating was also significantly less attractive than anything inside or on the original terrace. It was a good overall result, but secretly I wish there were more. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Yesterday, to round off a wonderful day, we went to the Dampfbierbrauerei for dinner. It was an absolutely perfect evening. First, we, a couple with a child and a dog, were shown to a table. The usher noticed the dog at the next table and asked if our dog gets along with other dogs. Since we couldn't unequivocally confirm this, he assigned us another seat without any problems. The waiter immediately brought a drinking bowl for our dog and paint sachets for our daughter. Drinks and food arrived at our table in less than five minutes. Both the roast pork and the cheese spaetzle were a dream. For us, the kitchen strikes a great balance between quick and good food. Despite the restaurant being packed, the waiter (Christoph or Christopher) managed to fulfill our every request in a very short time and didn't seem hectic or stressed, but rather friendly and empathetic. This is completely new and unusual for us in restaurants in tourist areas. Thank you for the wonderful evening and the friendly and respectful treatment, especially with regard to the child and dog. <3

I've been here for the third year in a row. The food was excellent every time and arrived very quickly, but it's probably as certain as amen in church that they're serving knuckles, so I don't see any problem with preparing a certain amount. The other dishes were also great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially this time. Nice outdoor seating. The live music was a bit loud for my taste when sitting inside. All in all, a definite recommendation.

The gentleman at the entrance was also rather edgy than friendly. The food was okay. The bread dumplings probably could have been cooked a few minutes longer, but the meat was very good.

The baked mountain cheese schnitzel with baked potatoes was delicious, the aspic was unexpectedly bland, and the fried potatoes were unfortunately too greasy. The beer is special. Worth a try for lovers of unusual varieties. Pure Bitburger or Karlsberg fans probably won't be happy here. The ambiance is rustic, typical of a brewery. The staff is very friendly and experienced. Bottom line: definitely worth a try.

We ate there four times during our vacation. The food was delicious every time, and the service was excellent. The knuckle of pork and the roast pork had a super crispy crust.

The food and first drinks arrived quickly, but after that, the service staff weren't much to be seen. The outdoor ambiance feels like the garden area at a hardware store...cool if you want to buy potting soil, but rather useless as a restaurant.

What a wonderful place! The service was excellent, and we received our ordered dishes very quickly. Everything was delicious and well-seasoned. The dishes were regional, so we had made a perfect choice in our restaurant selection right from the start of our vacation. Incidentally, we bought the beer served here from a local pub. We took six bottles home with us at a very reasonable price. There was also live music on Saturday night. Fantastic.
