O Português in Dresden

I can tell you, they serve very much authentic Portugese cuisine here! Although I liked most of the dishes I have ordered, the dessert (Pastel de nata) was a little off- it missed the crunch and freshness. So there is room for improvement but I am definitely coming back to have the next Portugese deliciousness here 😍

Tasty, fresh and original Portugese food and deinks, super friendly staff. The prices are OK. The ambient is cosy, the terrace is infront of the restaurant. If you love Portugese food or like ro taste the authentic gastronomy, this is the right place.

As big fans of Portugal through various vacations, we discovered this one of two Portuguese restaurants in Dresden. It's a simple but cozy restaurant, one that could easily exist in Portugal. Much of it is self-built, a bit dated, and could use a bit of a refresh, but it's OK. Despite daytime temperatures of around 27 degrees Celsius, it's still very warm inside in the evenings because there's no good air conditioning. That's something to be aware of. The menu is simple and clear; for "newbies," pictures would certainly be helpful, otherwise you'd have to "Google" every dish. As a welcome, we were offered a bread basket with a homemade dip. Very delicious! We then ordered two appetizers (shrimp-filled croquettes) and a mixed appetizer platter with feta, jamon (ham), sliced ​​smoked sausage, and typical Portuguese tuna cream, as well as two main courses: Alentejo-style pork and a "Francesinha" (typical Porto) with fries on the side. Both were very tasty, but "unfortunately" too much with the appetizers, and we couldn't finish it all. For drinks, we had beer. Here, they serve the national drink, "Superbock," on tap, or Sagres at relatively reasonable prices. I would like to see more vegetarian dishes. We'll definitely come back to see what's new!

We spent five days in Dresden and two evenings at O ​​Portugues. Here, you feel like you're in Portugal: delicious food, wonderful people, and personalized service. Vinho Verde with the appetizers, red wine with the main courses, and a Beirao for dessert—all at fair prices. We'll be back in Dresden—and, of course, back to O Portugues! 5 stars plus!

A small Portuguese restaurant in Dresden. I've been here several times, and the food is always delicious. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste as good as in Portugal. I particularly noticed the difference between the Francesinha and the food I've had in Porto. The food is fairly priced. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff is friendly.

From the outside the store looks very inconspicuous and hardly inviting, but as soon as you cross the threshold that changes immediately. The service is familiar, friendly, open-minded and worth a hug. The food is freshly prepared, which is why it takes a while, but the results are to die for and couldn't be better on any holiday trip to Portugal. Always a recommendation.

The three of us became aware of the restaurant by chance. Having been unable to find Francesinha anywhere outside of Porto since 2017, I've now learned that there is really damn good Francesinha right under my nose. I was said to have an “unusually wide grin” when I saw our food. The service was extremely friendly, the food was absolutely great (three out of three guests recommend the Francesinha) and the sauce in particular (freshly prepared by the mother of the house) is second to none. You can't beat Superbock on tap anyway. At the end there were two more port wines and a shot. The furnishings are very simple, but quite cozy and comfortable. A truly wonderful restaurant that anyone who loves Portuguese cuisine should definitely visit!

The welcome and service from the operating family was incredibly warm, hospitable and natural. We all ate a varied meal and were very satisfied with all the food and drinks on offer. After my trip to Lisbon in September, my partner and I went to the small, lovingly furnished restaurant. I felt like I was in Portugal and on vacation. The atmosphere was relaxed throughout the restaurant and invited people to linger. We were there for just over two hours and enjoyed every minute. The food was really delicious. In my opinion, better than 90% of the places in Lisbon. The steak was excellent and the garlicky pan-fried potatoes topped it off. You can tell straight away that this is a family-run restaurant. Be it the atmosphere, the food or the staff. Compared to other restaurants, the food is fresh and home-cooked. Always happy☺️

Auf der Suche nach einem Fischrestaurant in Dresden bin ich auf 's Restaurant O Português gestoßen und ich bin wirklich froh darüber. Schon mal vorweg, die 5 Sterne sind voll und ganz gerechtfertigt. Ein kleines, von außen eher unscheinbares, gemütliches und stilvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant. Ich weiß nicht, wann ich mich in Deutschland das letzte Mal in einem Restaurant so wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt habe, wie im O Português. Ich kann und muss mich den vorangegangenen Kommentaren nur anschliessen. Eine freundliche, liebevolle und nette Bewirtung wie man sie in unserem tristen, frustrierten Deutschland wirklich nur noch selten findet ... Das Essen - wir hatten, wie bereits angemerkt, den Bacalhau cozido, die Feijoada und den Arroz de marisco bestellt - war sehr sehr lecker. Wir waren von allen drei Gerichten begeistert. Macht weiter so --- hier kann man wirklich sagen --- Was mit Liebe gemacht wird, gelingt einfach auch. Sowohl im Restaurant als auch in der Küche . Von mir gibts 5 Sterne und wenn irgendwann mal freigeschalten, noch einen 6.ten oben drauf. Wir empfehlen weiter und ganz sicher kommen wir auch wieder vorbei. Liebe Grüße

I don't know the last time I felt as comfortable and looked after in a restaurant in Germany as I did at O ​​Português. I can and must only agree with the previous comments. A friendly, loving and nice hospitality that you rarely find in our dreary, frustrated Germany... The food - as already mentioned, we ordered the bacalhau cozido, the feijoada and the arroz de marisco - was very very yummy. We were thrilled with all three dishes. Keep it up --- here you can really say --- Whatever is done with love simply works. Both in the restaurant and in the kitchen. I give it 5 stars and when it's unlocked at some point, a 6th on top. We recommend it and we will definitely come back again. Best regards

We found the restaurant at short notice and what can I say...it was fantastic. Original authentic Portuguese cuisine. Unfortunately there are a few very interesting dishes only on show but everyone should find something with the other dishes too. The menu is clear, which is a very good sign for few but very well prepared and fresh dishes. When I'm back in Dresden I'll definitely stop by there again. Service was very nice, was always interested in the guest's well-being. The starter platter for 2 can also be seen as a main course for 2 people, very plentiful and with various different appetizers (shrimp, boiled/fried potatoes, mussels,...). Ambience a bit rustic but authentic. My new insider tip for Dresden :D

I wanted to try something new and one of my friends recommended this restaurant. I ordered Bacalhau A Bras. The dish was really good with a good portion. The staff and the chef are really nice and gave me and my friend a warm feeling.

Op zoek naar iets dichtbij ons appartement op doorreis kwamen we hier terecht. Een klein stukje Portugal in Dresden. Rustig, maar met heerlijk eten. We begonnen met het warme voorgerecht voor 2 personen. Dit was een verrukkelijke mix van vis, vlees en groente. Haast een maaltijd op zich. Het hoofdgerecht was Portugees, met een Duitse twist. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Het dat we te ver weg wonen, maar anders kwamen we hier vaker.

Portugal in Dresden After a vacation in Portugal, we longed for the foods we loved there. That's how we ended up here. We had pre-ordered, which was an advantage because there aren't many seats. We were warmly welcomed and immediately studied the map. There was everything we missed. Whether Bifana or Bacalhau à Brás, everything was freshly cooked and delicious. In between, the boss kept asking us if everything was okay. All in all it was a great evening, not only was the stomach spoiled, the two owners also took care of it. Nach einem Urlaub in Portugal hatten wir Sehnsucht nach den dort liebgewonnenen Speisen. So landeten wir hier. Wir hatten vorbestellt, was von Vorteil war, denn es gibt nicht viele Plätze. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und studierten gleich die Karte. Es gab alles, was wir vermisst haben. Egal ob Bifana oder Bacalhau à Brás, alles wurde frisch gekocht und war lecker. Zwischendurch wurden wir immer wieder vom Chef gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Es war alles in allem ein toller Abend, nicht nur der Magen wurde verwöhnt, auch die beiden Inhaber sorgten dafür. Auch preislich war alles in einem angenehmen Rahmen. Wir kommen wieder!

Nach langer Zeit nun auch endlich mal geschafft, das Restaurant zu besuchen. Dabei wird es aber leider auch bleiben. Francesinha bzw. die dazugehörige Sauce extrem scharf (steht nicht auf der Karte) - da macht das Essen absolut keinen Spaß! Vegetarisches Schnitzel augenscheinlich TK-Ware. Schade, Bedienung sehr nett.

Schönes Kleines Lokal mit klassischem portugiesischen Gerichten. Der Grund zur Anreise war das Francesinha welches es in Deutschland viel zu selten gibt und hier empfehlenswert ist.

Hier spricht man portugiesisch, hier isst man portugiesisch. Perfektes und vor allem authentisches Ambiente. Unfassbar gutes Essen, quer Beet von der Region Porto bis ins Alentejo. Weine aus dem Douro, Setubal und dem Alentejo. Die Speisen werden liebevoll frisch und in Handarbeit zubereitet. So schnell war man von Dresden aus noch nie in Portugal.

A comida é maravilhosa e feita mesmo por uma portuguesa. Trata-se de um estabelecimento familiar, todos são extremamente gentis! O preço é justo e os pratos são muito bem servidos. É um lugar que costumo ir sempre! Recomendo! Melhor combinação de serviço + custo + comida, em Dresden, não há!

Ich kann O Português sehr empfehlen. Hier kann man bei Superbock vom Fass und Oliven den Tag ausklingen lassen. Es gibt Pastel de Nata, Caldo Verde und vieles mehr, was man aus Portugal kennt und sonst in Dresden vermisst. Dazu läuft auch noch gute Musik.

Die Atmosphäre ist sehr gut, wie wurden freundlich begrüßt und man hat sich sehr willkommen gefühlt. Es fühlte sich authentisch an, portugiesische Produkte können dort auch gekauft werden. Die Preise sind nicht billig, aber die Qualität der Gerichte sind sehr gut.

Absolut authentisches Restaurant, wie in Portugal abseits der Touristenpfade. Von außen nicht besonders einladend, bei ungünstigem Tageslicht erkennt man kaum, daß geöffnet ist. (Meine Freundin sagt, sie wäre eigentlich nicht reingegangen.) Drinnen empfing uns gleich der typisch portugiesische Duft. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und absolut authentisch, dazu original portugiesisches Bier (Super Bock vom Faß, großartig!), Limonaden und Spirituosen. Die Gastgeber sind superfreundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Pastel de Nata war leider nur noch eines für den Sohnematz da, also müssen wir wiederkommen und gegebenenfalls vorbestellen. 😁 Da die Haltestelle direkt vor der Tür ist, kann man nach dem Bier auch noch einen Portwein oder Mandellikör (Empfehlung!) genießen. Alles in allem ein Abend wie Urlaub in Portugal. Muito obrigado!

Wir haben uns in Dresden eine original portugiesische Francesinha (kleine Französin) gegönnt. Sie hat sehr gut geschmeckt vor allem die Sauce war sehr vielschichtig. Das Lokal ist urig und ohne unnötige Bequemlichkeiten. Die Bedienung ist ausgesprochen freundlich und herzlich. Als Finish gabs auf Kosten des Hauses noch einen Portwein.

Authentisches Essen in portugiesischer Atmosphäre. Das Ambiente ist schlicht und einfach gehalten. Das tut dem Essen aber nicht weh. Und wegen dem Essen war ich ja da, und es war reichlich von den Portionen her und geschmeckt hat. Eben Rossio in Dresden. Danke dafür. Komme sehr gerne wieder.
