It was delicious every time. The last time was on April 16, 2024, for lunch. We enjoy coming here and regret that, according to some reviews, other guests seem to have had different experiences. 2. We were there again at the end of April. This time, everything was perfect, hence the 5th star, as promised. 1. Good restaurant with fair prices and good service. We went there on the recommendation of friends after initially being reluctant to go because of the many negative reviews. We reserved a table over the phone and registered our dog at the same time. No problem. The reception was friendly. The restaurant makes a good impression. The menu is well-balanced. We ordered fish soup to start with, and for the main course, the sailor's plate and the house plate with four fried fish. Everything was very tasty. The service was courteous and quick. Unfortunately, we have to deduct one star because we discovered at home that we were overcharged for one garlic sauce and one drink. If that doesn't happen next time, we'll add another star.

Our favorite restaurant on the Fischmeile (fish mile) for years. The food is always delicious and excellent value for money. Service is always friendly and helpful. Reservations are recommended in the evenings. Today is our farewell visit to O Cantino. The location will be closing on September 28th and will reopen at a new location in February 26th. The place is packed, and the food is excellent as always. Reservations are essential at the moment.

We had a lovely dinner – the plaice was beautifully cooked and breaded (5 stars). The potatoes on the side were okay, but in my opinion, there are nicer, more flavorful potatoes; this one was a bit bland. The price-performance ratio is good, but the service was busy, so we had to wait a bit longer for our drinks. The dessert, pasteis de nata, was nice, but unfortunately ice cold – we prefer it lukewarm, which is a shame. The place is a solid Portuguese restaurant with good prices and very good fish.

We arrived around 2 p.m. We had wolffish with potato salad, and everything was delicious, including the tartar sauce that came with it. The redfish was just as good, well-seasoned, served once with fried potatoes and once with boiled potatoes. The food came very quickly. Yes, the service wasn't great, but it wasn't rude either. I don't want to marry her. 😉 I'll come back and get the baked fish next time.

SERVICE REQUIRES IMPROVEMENT. The worst fish restaurant I’ve been to so far. The fish tasted like plastic, the soup was nothing but bland water, and the service was staggeringly bad. You don’t throw plates onto the table and walk around with an arrogant expression as if you’re doing your guests a favor. And you certainly don’t come up from behind shouting the bill number in our ears after making us wait endlessly to pay. A truly unpleasant experience. The only reason we ate and didn’t complain right away is because our friend invited us to your place. A waste of money and time. P.S. The place was full, with only two waiters working. I can understand the time pressure, stress, and exhaustion — but that’s no excuse for sour or impolite behavior. In the end, I don’t blame the staff themselves, but the restaurant owner or manager. Proper training for the waiters is clearly needed. And your kitchen is also far below the level you claim to represent. Definitely not recommended.

The atmosphere was pleasant, but the food was rather mediocre overall. The fried potatoes and fries were quite unspectacular, and the fish and calamari were okay, but not outstanding. The service seemed a bit stressed, apparently because they were understaffed. Overall, a rather average experience.

We had made a special reservation, noting that we had a baby with a stroller and a dog with us. We also wanted to sit outside. Everything was confirmed during the reservation. When we arrived, they wanted to give us a seat in the gallery, which would have been impossible with a stroller. Apparently, there was no room outside. After our objections, we were given a seat where we could park the stroller, but it was extremely drafty. Great place for a baby... Our drink order was taken, and shortly after, the order was taken again. The drinks were later carelessly slammed onto the table. We weren't able to place any further drink orders during our entire stay. We weren't bothered by the service. The food was very good. We come back to this restaurant every now and then, but our last visit has put us off. The waiters communicate loudly throughout the restaurant, don't pay attention to guests, and ignore all requests. It's a shame. With a little consideration, commitment, and friendliness, we could easily achieve 4-5 stars.

The food is freshly prepared and delicious, the staff is friendly, and the service is impeccable. Parking is available in front of the door. We also particularly recommend the Portuguese dishes that can be ordered in advance (e.g., arroz de marisco).

We pre-ordered a Cataplana: super delicious and served with a generous selection of seafood. Served with chilled Vinho Verde in a carafe, just like in Portugal. Cooked by the lovely chef. Friendly and quick service, and the admittedly rather rustic ambiance, but everything fit together perfectly, and we felt incredibly comfortable. Afterwards, an excellent espresso and a Maciera, what more could you ask for?! We'll be back and will happily recommend it!

Delicious XL fried fish sandwich for 5€

The fish here is excellent. We went twice, and the fish platters (regular and special) for two people were delicious and appetizingly presented. The portions were perfect: not too much, not too little. We were there with our 10-month-old twins. The waiters boiled water for our bottles and provided chairs. Dropped toys were carefully picked up—we weren't that quick ourselves. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Fantastic food in a rustic environment. You find this restaurant in the old habiur area in one of the old warehouse sheds. We had delicious fish with fries. All very good and freshly prepared. Bread and aioli was handed upfront which was delicious as well. Staff was super nice and attentive. Food came fresh and hot straight from the kitchen. We can highly recommend this restaurant. Pricing is amazing. Paid less than 50€ for a dinner for two. Great job team!

I would have liked to give it 5 stars because everyone made such an effort. But you go out to eat to relax and enjoy yourself, which was unfortunately very difficult. It opened at 5 p.m., and we wanted to sit outside. No one came outside, even though we asked if sitting outside was okay. The outdoor terrace was very dirty. The staff seemed to have lost interest in cleaning and serving. Almost all of the restrooms were clogged and smelly. The food used to be better. The salad had no flavor, and the portions used to be larger. We won't recommend this restaurant anymore.

I was there about an hour ago and went in on the right. I had placed a takeaway order around the corner from the counter and was rudely told off in a harsh tone. I was supposed to place my order at the front and then I should have told you, good lady, again what I would like to takeaway. And she started yelling at me. Then I politely asked her whether I should place my order up front or, as I had just said twice, around the corner, because I didn't know and there is no sign there telling you where to order, so it would be the same order. Then I was aggressively asked what I wanted and I politely said I didn't want anything else and then I was told to just leave the restaurant and go back where I came from. I was in shock because I had no idea of ​​my fault, wherever or however you queued up, whether at the front or at the side, and I was insulted like that, I have never experienced anything like that in my entire life. We wanted to have lunch there today. We were coming from Lüneburg and were looking forward to a fish platter. First, we asked if we could get something to eat at 1:45 p.m., which they answered with a yes. Then an extremely unfriendly waitress came over and slammed our menus on the table. We weren't served any further. We're not used to such unfriendly and lousy service, especially not from Portuguese people. The food is very tasty, but don't go there for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday. After 1:45 p.m., they call it a lunch break, and guests are no longer welcome. We've been there a few times before, but we've never been treated so badly.

We're from Bremerhaven, and if you want to eat there in the fishing harbor, you'll have to dig deeper into your pockets. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The food is really very good. Both in taste and in portion. Get involved in rustic harbor cuisine and enjoy what’s on offer.

I have to be honest and say that we hardly ever buy fish cakes in the harbor anymore because they just don't taste good anymore. But yours are by far the best fish cakes I have ever eaten here in Cuxhaven. And your fried fish in a roll is super delicious. Also by far the best. We'll definitely be back. Unfortunately not so great. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, they weren't able to turn up the lights, we had an older lady with us who had difficulty seeing and therefore had problems reading the menu. The fish was a bit dull, in the pan too long? One dish was served in a kind of clay gutter and the fish was drowned in the tomato sauce and had no chance of escaping due to the 'plate shape'. Maybe we should have ordered tapas, they looked very good and tasty at the next table.

We were there with 5 people. The prawns were okay and the quantity was good too. Unfortunately, the cod fillet and fried potatoes were rather dry and the potatoes were not crispy as ordered. The fisherman's breakfast was also rather smaller. In short: we weren't full. The store was full, but unfortunately we weren't happy this time. What surprises me is that you can't pay by card here and receipts were only created upon explicit request.

An employee went from the kitchen to the women's toilet wearing blue disposable gloves and came out with the gloves on her hands. Overall, you have to lower your hygiene standards here.

Visited the restaurant today. After 25 minutes we left the restaurant. None of the employees wanted to serve us. The facilities of the restaurant are very, very simple. But what was also very unpleasant...very, very cold in the restaurant.

Gross if you don't like Pepsi. And in terms of the ambience, it is furnished in a careless and spartan manner. Like a train station hall. If the food had at least been good, it wouldn't have mattered.
