Novalis in Neustadt an der Weinstraße

This pub is a truly outstanding traditional German bar, with really friendly staff. It features an excellent selection of German beers, great local wine and excellent choice of spirits all in a vibrant atmosphere. Novalus has delightful menu with a chef who truly talented. The venue is an absolute delight, and I highly recommend visiting. It’s lively, friendly, and welcoming to all. It serves as the perfect spot to enjoy time with friends or even to relish a quick pint on your own.

Actually 3 1/2 Nice atmosphere, a lot taken over from earlier times. Owner very open-hearted During our last visit, the temporary worker was somehow "overwhelmed"...

Hello, we stood in front of the closed door today at 5:00-5:10 p.m. and were very irritated that it wasn't open. There was no notice on the internet or on the door that it was closed out of turn today. We were a small group who now had to look for something else at short notice. Too bad....... We can't say anything about the food etc. as it wasn't open. A week ago we were generally confirmed with opening times on Tuesdays from 5 p.m.

We ended up in this small (in winter of course only indoors) restaurant/pub by chance. We were overwhelmed by the super nice, funny, super relaxed boss. Our dog was also greeted exuberantly and showered with treats (fresh sausage). Very good food from the daily menu. We were thrilled and happy to have landed in this location. Absolutely recommended.

Were in Neustadt last Friday and wanted something to eat before the event and ended up in Novalis by chance because everything was full. How lucky otherwise we wouldn't have found this gem. Very nice restaurant, the boss and the waitress are in a good mood, it's fun to be a guest here. The menu is simple and short, but all dishes are very tasty and appetizing. And after the event, go back for a nightcap.

I had a very nice and entertaining evening in this restaurant. The waitress is super friendly and offers specialties from different countries that many have never eaten before. It's a shame you can't give it 6/5 stars.

Both the boss and the chef are very nice and accommodating! Beautiful outside area and quaint inside! We always feel very comfortable and enjoy coming here!

Super friendly and a great atmosphere

After eating at the Greek restaurant (Dionysos), we had a few delicious drinks (gin and tonic...). Price performance is OK, the service is super friendly and the atmosphere is rustic. Always happy again 👍

Super cool shop with an incredibly nice atmosphere. You can sit at the bar here, drink a delicious Guinness and snack on delicious BBQ chicken wings! I actually only know that from the USA or countries like Ireland. Unfortunately, the concept is far too rare in Germany. And certainly not in Neustadt. Luckily we found this flair at Novalis! Keep it up! Not to mention the great hospitality!

Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt, aber lange gedauert.

Das Novalis war mal unsere Stammkneipe nach der Tanzschule Auch schon über 20 Jahre her. Mittlerweile hat es einen neuen Besitzer/Wirt. Das Ambiente hat sich ein wenig verändert. Kommt aber nicht an das alte Flair dran. Ein Guinness muss sein, die Süßkartoffel-Pommes sind sehr lecker gewesen, mehr war um 21:30 Uhr nicht mehr drin. Auch warme Getränke (Cappuccino/Tee/Espresso) gab es dann auch nicht mehr. Das war ein bisschen enttäuschend, da man das ja auch schon anders erlebt hat. Ist wohl nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Viele Lokale schließen früh die Türen. Nun denn, ... gibt ein Stern weniger😉

Essen war mega lecker, aber die Bedienung toppt alles. Lange nicht mehr so eine tolle Bedienung erlebt.

Super lieber Service dass Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Wir haben einen gegrillten Schafskäse und eine Curry Wurst bestellt. Die Portionen sind genau richtig. Und die Getränke kühl und wunderbar erfrischend.❤️♥︎♥︎

Wir waren letztens, an einem Freitag Abend dort Essen. Der Laden war angenehm gefüllt. Das Ambiente hatte Charme. Allerdings ist die Akustik drinnen, wie so oft, nicht die beste, sodass es schnell sehr laut werden kann, auch wenn im Verhältnis gesehen, wenig Menschen gerade im Raum sind. Gegessen wurde eine Currywurst von der Karte und Spießbraten von der Tageskarte. Beides war sehr gut. Das Fleisch war heiß und zart, die Pommes Frites frisch. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Ein echter Geheimtipp in Neustadt. Sehr freundlicher Empfang, herzliche Gastgeber und leckeres Essen. Die Auswahl an Weinen und Bieren ist großartig.

Wir hatten die Ferienwohnung über dem Lokal. War nett. Essen und Getränke gut.

Per Zufall entdeckt 💚 kleine interessante Speisekarte, außergewöhnliche super freundliche gut gelaunte "Köchin"-Service🤩auch der Getränke -Service war gut & flott,obwohl es voll besetzt war & Gartenwirtschaft auch noch ❣️ Es war ein sehr schöner gemütlicher netter Aufenthalt & Abend🍀sehr zu empfehlen 💚

Super angenehmes Lokal, eines der letzten in Neustadt

Urige Kneipe, sehr nette Bedienung, sehr gute und leckere Weine, zusätzlich zur normalen Bierauswahl, gibt es noch Kilkenny und Guinness. Nach dem Besitzerwechsel hat sich die Küche stark verbessert, in puncto Frische. Wärmste Empfehlung. Sehr freundlicher und sympathischer Service.

Waren nur auf ein Bier dort wärend einer Kneipentour, war aber ganz cool.

Das Novalis verfügt über einen super schönen Biergarten. Wir hatten einen Flammkuchen welcher sehr gut geschnackt hat.

alles super ! War gestern mal wieder ein sehr schöner Abend im NOVALIS Currywurst, Kilkenny, Gespräche - immer wieder gerne Heinz

Litet ställe med bra musik och en fantastisk kvinna som sköter stället. Energigivande, bra öl och vin samt lite enklare smårätter. Självklart Flammkuchen. Man känner sig som hemma med goda vänner fast man bara är på genomresa. Blandad publik, både unga och äldre. Så mysigt och kul! Tack Lolo för två härliga kvällar!

Bester Laden der Stadt. Klein und ehrlich, alternativ. Supernette Leute. Eine kleine aber erlesene Essensauswahl. Dafür eine große Auswahl an diversen hochprozentigen Getränken. Im Sommer kann man draußen sitzen. Karten- und Barzahlung möglich. Nur die Toiletten sind aus baulichen Gründen sehr klein. Aber da will man sich ja eh nicht so lange aufhalten. Ich bin gerne dort. 💚

Location is nice , friendly staff, very tasty „the one and only“ but they need to work on the timing > 1h for a Currywurst with French fries… really that turned it a little bit down…

Gemütliches Pub zum Feierabendbier mit großer Whisky-Auswahl. Dazu ne kleine nette Speisekarte mit vegetarischen und veganen Alternativen. Dazu gibt es saisonal meistens noch 1-3 Gerichte extra auf der Tafel

Gemütlicher Hinterhof, Essen war lecker und der Service großartig! Wie man bei einem vollen Haus und alleine im Service so eine tolle, familiäre Stimmung verbreiten kann, is beeindruckend.

Sehr nettes Restaurant, die Chefin ist sehr freundlich und immer gut gelaunt, es macht Spass hier Gast zu sein. Die Karte ist einfach und kurz, aber alle Gerichte sind sehr schmackhaft und appetitlich serviert. Den Preis mehr als wert.

Pretty from the outside but run by some of the rudest staff we have ever encountered. Drinks are average and quite expensive. I heard this was a hidden gem so was looking forward to visiting but was really disappointed by how we were treated. Unfortunately the first time wasn’t the only bad experience, we came with friends another time and were once again shocked at the horrendous attitude of the man serving us. It’s also dirty and the service, as well as being rude, is incredibly slow. We will tell everyone we know to avoid coming here

Wir sind vollkommen begeistert und empfinden das Restaurant nach dem heutigen Abend als einen absoluten Geheimtipp. Die Karte ist überschaubar und das Restaurant wirkt zunächst „einfacherer“, jedoch waren wir vom afrikanischen Curry und auch vom gebackenen Schafskäse wirklich begeistert. Frische Zutaten und wirklich mit Liebe zubereitet! Die Atmosphäre im Innenhof ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! :-)

Hervorragende Kleinigkeiten haben wir hier erhalten. Perfekt gewürzt bzw. abgestimmt. Falls wir wieder nach Neustadt kommen, werden wir mit sicherheit wieder hierher kommen.
