No Bananas in Berlin

Creative Anatolian fusion food, extremely delicious! Super cozy atmosphere. You feel like you're with friends. Stylish and at the same time with reasonable prices. Difficult to find in the mix even in Berlin. Absolute recommendation.

The food was excellent and the wines matched the dishes perfectly. The ambience was pleasant and inviting. The service, on the other hand, was not very attentive and seemed impersonal - almost everything had to be asked for and the staff spoke almost no German. In this price category I would have liked a more personal and attentive service.

I gave it five stars, but they need a 'subtle' warning on some issues. First of all, the food really satisfied us... I congratulate the kitchen team. We ate almost all the appetizers. (Hummus, goat cheese appetizer, stuffed meatballs and cauliflower appetizer)… It was all delicious… - The ambience is nice, but due to the structure of the place, it is very noisy. - The food arrived approximately 45 minutes after ordering... This caused a joke at our table, "You can come here, but only after having a snack outside." - Many appetizers had arrived, but there were no serving spoons. We asked for 2 spoons for the 5 appetizer plates, but we had to ask for spoons again, we didn't want the flavors to mix with each other. - Table control was problematic, we repeatedly asked for water, ice, etc. Most of the time we called the attendant to ask. The food was wonderful, but unfortunately the service was problematic. -

The Mezze and Manti were okay, although I had the feeling that all dishes are at least double price of what you usually would pay in other more authentic Turkish Ocakbaşi or Mezze places in Berlin. Bread was very limited compared to the amount of dishes we ordered. Beylerbeyi Raki 0,35L 50€ and you don’t even get the original bottle with it. Just a glass pot which looks like it’s for tab water. Sorry but considering the prices and service I expected much more.

We had a really nice evening and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The service is lovely - thank you for that! The kitchen is amazing - thanks for that too! We had the cauliflower, the mussels and the bulgur balls. Not only is it fantastically prepared, it also tastes great. The wine list also really suited our taste. Nice to sit outside and inside. We will be back.

I didn't eat anything, but I had a drink! Special and for that I would like to thank the team from the bottom of my heart! Super friendly, attentive and open, in LaLa (country), so no no country if I translate it from Arabic! Take a look, order a special and laugh and laugh and tell yourself loving stories! Gluten free and delicious. We ate the broccoli dish, hummus and the goat cheese. They don't have gluten-free bread, but the food is perfect. It was what I was looking for. 100% recommended ❤️

Best octopus in town; crispy, yet tender and for that alone, lala is one of my favourite to go to placesin Berlin. Also the food is in general perfectly seasoned; portions are large, so it’s recommended to order and share it all. The service had been absolutely great as well, always attentive, friendly & professional. We’ll definitely be back 🤍

Menu items have gotten smaller in size and more expensive, since I last visited and it was called No Bananas. Missed the artichoke burrata (star dish that is no longer on the menu) and the green dip that used to be served with the bread!

Everything was very good. I could try to describe it in more detail, but descriptions don't do the taste justice and are likely to just create expectations against which the actual experience is measured, which would be a shame. Just eat the food. It's good.

I really wanted to like this place, the food is great but very poor service, unfortunately service matters sad that Many Berlin restaurants still didn’t get the message,we had to ask things 2,3 time and still, we never got what we asked, something as simple as bread, no one ever came to ask if we needed anything despite passing by our tables and seeing that the food was over, maybe asking if we want to drink something a dessert, we felt ignored the whole night. We sat there for a whole hour after the meal was over and the bread we asked multiple times nothing, most of the food comes with too much yoghurt and sauce so more bread would be great, please order extra bread at first you may not have a chance to order again, the food is great which is a shame that the service is that bad, some prices are way too much for what you get like the risotto, and the portion is almost like the Mezze but you pay the double.

Now called LALA. Nice restaurant, you sit comfortably, e.g. with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Service was ok. Food and drinks are a little more expensive, portions are small (meze) to medium (main course). The dishes are appealing, some are heavily garlic-heavy (e.g. Salicorne, veg.Manti). Overall, the food was ok, but I think the taste could be fine-tuned a bit to justify the higher prices.

Amazing place food and service!

The recent evening at No Bananas was a highlight. The welcome was warm, the service just as pleasantly friendly. There were four of us and we had several starters and main courses, all of which were beautifully presented and tasted excellent, as well as excellent wines. Thanks to the entire team, we will definitely be back!

I said to the waiter that I wanted to take the leftovers home because the food was “too good to leave” 😇 And this was the note that was left. EAT HERE, the food is so so good 😋 and great service

Many of the menu items got changed after transitioning to “La La”. Much more standard, good but not “great” food now.

You need to go!! I don’t put more starts because I can’t. The food is delicious, we tried a few mezze and two main dishes, everything was simply exquisite. My biggest surprise was the Salicorne seagrass. The staff is extremely friendly and their recommendations are awesome. Anushka attend us during the night, kindly changing our table to a bigger one and giving us the best wine, virgin cocktails and food recommendations :) Emiliano gave us an amazing digestive and there was another lady that her name I do not recall very sweet as well. We went there with a group of colleagues The entries were super delicious!! Unfortunately, The main dishes were too salty, each of them The cocktails were fine and home wine is good They didn’t notice us that the kitchen was about to close so we couldn’t order any desserts But I do recommend this place for a friends night out to share some food!

The food was very tasty. There were two of us and we shared 2 mezzes and a main course, which was completely enough. We had the aubergine with zuchini and yogurt, which tasted amazing, then girit ezme with pistachios: Wow! As a main course we shared an artichoke parmesan souflee and were very impressed! The service was actually very good all in all, but when a waitress came and said that we had to leave in 15 minutes, we couldn't understand what was going on. When asked, the answer was that each reservation only lasts 2.5 hours and that's why we had to leave so that there was room for more guests. Note that one of us still had half a glass of wine and a mezze was not even half finished. There were also at least 4 free tables in the restaurant. That was absolutely disrespectful and didn't fit the ambience of the restaurant at all.

The liver from pan and poached pear were marvellous. The ambience is also very pleasant. I would definitely want to go again.

The food and service was very good, but it was very rude to be asked why we didn't leave a tip before we even left the table. As a result, while we thought we would leave a tip, we didn't because of this rude behavior.

Modified Turkish food, and not only generally meditarían and Middle East cuisine is included, it’s quite tasteful, make it one time and a lot of vegetarian dishes, this wine was very good,

It's a heaven if you're looking for Turkish food that's not only kebap in a good setup(which is a bit hard to find in Berlin). I like to dine in outside tables during summer. But interior is also good for winters. They change the menu every season and some foods have funky touches. Never disappointed <3

Nice restaurant with great mezes. Especially hummus and Girit ezme were quite delicious. And the size of chocolate souffle was surprisingly big and surely enough for 2 people.

The starters were good, missed some salt and lime but they were good. Joghurt with chili oil was tasty and the mussel tempura too. The mains were really not worth the money tho. The octopus was small, under it some bean purée for 24€ was just not worth it. Unfortunately the meatballs tasted like sausage water which was really weird. The margarita wasn't sour, the gin basil smash was tasty. Service was very kind. All in all, unfortunately we will not come back.

No Bananas manages to offer consistently excellent contemporary Turkish food. Every dish has a slight twist that works surprisingly well. Be ready in particular for a variety of dishes with pistachios. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for outstanding tapas/meze with their drinks. You'll find vegetarian dishes, seafood, and various kinds of meat.

Der Name ist Programm auf der ganzen Speisekarte nix mit Bananen!!! Dafür waren unsere Mezze ausgezeichnet!!! Unser Favorit: Artischocken-Fenchel-Salat mit Miso-Dressing! Die Kompositionen sind sehr ungewöhnlich, ausgewogen in ihren Geschmäckern und schmackhaft! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Berlin’in loş ve sessiz sokaklarında iyi havada geniş bir kaldırımda rahat zaman geçirilebilir. Dış mekandak büyük masaların bacakları alçak. Yemek için uğradıysanız ve uzun boyluysanız düşünebilirsiniz. Menu iyi seçilmş ve abartısız. Malzeme kalitesi iyi.

Eines der besondersten Restaurants in denen ich bisher war. Es war wirklich sehr lecker, wir haben uns zu zweit 3 Gerichte geteilt. Was einfach super und ich komme ganz sicher wieder, wenn ich mal wieder in der Nähe bin.

Die Mezze waren geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und besonders gewürzt, vor allem der Tomatensalat mit Augenbohnen, der Service ausgesprochen freundlich und nett. Außerdem gibt es einen sehr empfehlenswerten Grillo! Sehr gerne wieder!

Die Manti waren so lala... Portion für den Preis auch eher überschaubar. Kumpel hatte Hackbällchen, die wiederum gut geschmeckt haben, aber weird angerichtet. In einer Schüssel - zero ansprechend, als würde man Reste bekommen + ebenfalls wenig für den Preis. 4 Personen, 4 Gerichte und Getränke 90€. Glaube das war ne einmalige Nummer für uns. Aber hey, das Personal war super freundlich. Vielleicht eignets sich hier auch eher für Drinks. Viel Erfolg weiterhin.

Great food and staff possible to find something gluten and dairy free there. The starter I had was too salty it would of been nice to let it desalted longer.

Not the standard Turkish food you will find in Berlin, but whether you like it or not, is truly based on your expectations. It was a little too garlicky for my liking, but quite fulfilling nonetheless. Great wine selection, though. Full points for the service and how cozy and beautiful this place is. Could spend hours without getting tired of it. Also highly recommended if you are in the mood to share a few “snackable” food items. Slightly on the pricier end.

Sehr leckere Meze, perfekt zum Teilen! Das einzige was mich bei meinem Besuch gestört hat, war das Sauerteigbrot, das serviert wurde statt den Pitas, die zu dieser Art von Küche viel besser gepasst hätten

No Bananas did the catering for our wedding and even exceeded our expectations. During the planning process they helped us define the dishes and quantities for our 100+ guests and gave us useful tips and recommendations based on their experience. On the day, during the event, they set up and managed everything (we had a lunch buffet). Most importantly, apart from the great service, our guests loooved the food, some guests even claiming it was the best catering they ever had at a wedding. :)) Thanks a lot to the No Bananas team for contributing to our special day! :)

Wir hatten die Nachspeisen: Joghurt mit Cranberries und Baklava. Baklava war wie Apfelstrudel, lecker, aber nichts besonderes. Joghurt sehr gut. Fenchel Salat war ziemlich schrecklich, zu kalt, stand vermutlich auch schon eine Weile. Lage ist auf jeden Fall unschlagbar. Personal die Liebe selbst.

Waren letztes Jahr schon mal dort, da war es wirklich gut, leider ist dem nicht mehr so. Reservierung für draußen wurde zunächst von den völlig unmotivierten Bedienungen ignoriert, dann gab man uns einen Tisch für ne Gruppe mit dem Kommentar, dass man dann eben zusammensitzen müsse, weil das eben nun mal so sei… Nach 20 Minuten (Laden halbleer, vier Servicekräfte), nahm man unsere Bestellung auf, das Essen kam recht schnell und war… ja nun, mehr als mittelmäßig . Hummus mit drei schmalen Scheiben Brot für 9,-€ war noch ok, sollte er auch sein, der Rest (gefüllte Teigtaschen und etwas was ich schon wieder verdrängt habe) war leider gar nicht gut, fad und öde, einfach lieblos. Das Ganze mit zwei Schorlen für 46,- € ist ne Ansage. Bei so nem Preis muss das Essen einfach top sein und das war’s nicht. Wie kommen nicht mehr wieder, dafür gibt es im Kiez zehnmal besseres. Schade!

Wir waren zu viert und nach gesharten 6 Mezze eigentlich wunschlos glücklich. Die Hauptgerichte unwesentlich größer. Viele vegane Varianten. Lautstärke gesprächskompatibel. Preise fair. Sehr gerne wieder!

Am liebsten hätten wir alles bestellt, was auf der Karte aufgeführt war! Es können sowohl kleiner Speisen zum Teilen, als auch grössere Hauptgerichte bestellt werden. Wir haben zu zweit einen Mix aus beidem ausprobiert und waren begeistert von den leckeren Gerichten. Auch der Service war sehr sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und äusserst aufmerksam. Auch wenn relativ viel los war und wir nur noch drinnen platz fanden war das Essen sehr schnell auf dem Tisch.
