I came here for a quick lunch and had egg rice with tofu. The portion was quite filling and I really enjoyed it. The service is friendly, and the wait for the food is short.

Very tasty Vietnamese with great, fresh food Inconspicuously located in a long, narrow restaurant, Nhy Star is a wonderful alternative to the surrounding Asian restaurants. Here, palate-pleasing dishes are conjured up with love and care from fresh ingredients that will put a Far Eastern smile on your face. You can also get delicious drinks that don't come from a can, but are mixed yourself, such as iced teas and other types of tea or mixed drinks. The staff flies nimbly through the location and brings the customers' wishes to their seats in no time, of course always with a friendly smile. A visit to Nhy Star is worthwhile and will be an all-round successful taste experience.

We enjoyed our visit to Nhy Star! The restaurant team is very friendly and accommodating. We accommodate requests for special dietary changes and allergy information! Gluten-free dishes are available in addition to vegetarian options. The edamame were well salted, the sushi selection was customizable, and the summer rolls were freshly prepared. The pho was delicious and a very generous portion in itself! The duck is particularly noteworthy because it wasn't deep-fried. The seasonings were also well-chosen. The restaurant's location is advantageous, as it's close to Dortmund Central Station. However, parking is only available via paid parking on the street or in a parking garage.

Nhy Star in Dortmund is top-notch: delicious, authentic Vietnamese cuisine with a wide selection. Sushi and desserts add even more variety to the menu. Highly recommended for vegetarians. In my opinion, this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Dortmund. I've been coming to nhy Star regularly for many years, and the food is always fresh, delicious, and quickly prepared. The takeaway dishes are just as lovingly prepared and packaged. There's seating inside and outside, although it can get unpleasantly loud inside due to the acoustics. All in all, it's worth every visit.

Los fideos blancos con cerdo a la parrilla y gambas que pedí venían con ensalada muy fresca y deliciosa salsa de pescado. Todos los ingredientes eran frescos y sabían muy bien. We were at the concert and had dinner here beforehand. A special appetizer, a Vietnamese coffee, and a dessert brought by the chef. I don't remember the names of the dishes, but we were delighted.

Very suitable for lunch in Dortmund. The lunch menu prices are affordable and there is even tea/coffee included. The portion is enough to fill you up enough and the midday low didn't happen either. In my opinion it could have been a little spicier, although you can adjust this yourself using the soy sauce etc. at the table. The service was attentive and quick, but not intrusive. Conclusion: Try it out

Wir waren vor unserem Konzertbesuch im Nhy Star. Die Location war ok, da ist noch Luft nach oben. Aber das Essen war wirklich klasse, frisches Gemüse, auf den Punkt zubereitet, tolle Vorspeise, toll angerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, und dazu waren die Preise für das gute Essen moderat. Alles in allem gibt von uns eine klare Empfehlung!

Very friendly staff, super delicious food that comes very, very quickly. There are no eternal waiting times like elsewhere. The tables are a bit small and are too crowded - but that means more people can enjoy authentic Vietnamese dishes.

Located in the middle of the city center. Lots of activity around it. Reservations are better on weekends as the restaurant is busy. Price performance is very good and the food tastes delicious. We had nothing to complain about. I'd love to come back.

The guests are diverse and colorful, which creates an authentic atmosphere. However, the ambience could still be improved.

Wir wurden 20 Minuten lang garnicht wahrgenommen und nicht bedient. Es sind mehrfach Mitarbeiter an uns vorbeigegangen und wir wurden komplett ignoriert. Ich kann diesen Laden nicht weiterempfehlen!

Whenever I'm in Dortmund, I visit this delicious Vietnamese restaurant not far from Dortmund's main train station, usually accompanied by someone. I find the stay, at least indoors, pleasant. Otherwise very friendly and informative staff and very freshly prepared food. The homemade drinks, whether cold or warm, were also very tasty. After Corona, the Ukraine war and the general increase in costs, the prices are of course a little higher here too, but you also get something for your money.

My first visit to a Vietnamese restaurant - and it was such a hit. Starting with the very friendly service up to the explanation of the basics of Vietnamese cuisine, it was a real pleasure. The food has a variety of flavors that is second to none. 🤩

Echt heel lekker, écht Vietnamees gegeten! Veel groente en heerlijke smaken!! Het voelde alsof we weer even in Vietnam waren. En inderdaad je voor-, hoofd- en nagerecht krijg je kort na elkaar opgediend… dat is normaal in Vietnam en vinden wij niet erg. Fijne, enthousiaste en goed Engels sprekende dame in de bediening (wij spreken bijna geen Duits) waarmee we een heel leuk gesprek hadden over onze én haar ervaringen in Vietnam. Wij raden dit restaurant aan en komen zeker terug als we in de buurt zijn!!

We were there during the week and had a reservation. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. I can't judge what the situation is like at the weekend. The food was very tasty. I had a duck dish from the Nhy Star recommendations on the menu. The only slightly negative comment about the dishes is sometimes that it is served with vegetables but not exactly what kind of vegetables, but in my opinion this does not justify deducting a star. Small note on the side: the fruit-based drinks are really recommended. I had a lime-based one (like Ipanema only without ginger ale). The menu is quite extensive, but you can check it out online if you are undecided. The staff were really friendly and answered any questions regarding the dishes. All in all, I really liked the restaurant and would definitely come back.

Enjoy delicious Vietnamese cuisine here

I was in this delicious restaurant again today and was really looking forward to my meal, just like the day before. During my business trips here in Dortmund and then directly next to my hotel I always go to the Vietnamese restaurant. This time I ordered a salad with mango and shrimp (No.16) as a starter. I returned it after a short trial period because it didn't correspond to the picture and some ingredients were missing. The service employee then took the salad into the kitchen and 5 minutes later the service employee came back to my table and, with the chopsticks in his hand and looking around in the plate, asked what was wrong. I repeated my complaint and said that the salad was missing ingredients. By now I was also hungry for the main course. The service employee then accepted this with doubt and shortly afterwards served our main course, a delicious PHo and the dish for my colleague. The Pho was sensationally delicious. When the bill came, the salad, which cost €10.90 and had been returned by me, appeared on the bill after all. I questioned and criticized this. I was told that they would like to make improvements. I told the team that I wasn't happy over here and if you were serious. In the end everything stayed as it was. I immediately paid the bill and we said goodbye. Unfortunately, this was my last visit to the restaurant. The food pho and curry was otherwise super delicious, Customer service - 1*

We come here at least once a week for lunch. Then there is menu 3, but with spring rolls instead of summer rolls. We don't have to say anything anymore, the extremely friendly service has it all! The Pho is authentic Vietnam and so is the service💖

I have never tasted better, more authentic and fresher Vietnamese cuisine! For me, Nhy Star is the best restaurant at the moment and I look forward to visiting it every time! I come every two weeks and drive several kilometers to do it, but it's worth it! The service is second to none, I was always served courteously and am happy to give tips here!

Don't be surprised, I give 4 stars in all areas but only one overall. Here you are lured into the restaurant with an incorrect price on the menu and pay 30% more after your meal. The excuse: “Oh then there must be an old map hanging out there”. No money back! Therefore only one star overall.

Een echte aanrader! Geweldig lekker gegeten. Grote porties, veel groentjes, mooi gepresenteerde borden, schappelijke prijs. Een speciale vermelding voor de super vriendelijke bediening, die vlot Engels sprak. We waren met een groot gezelschap van 15 personen. We zaten allemaal aan 1 grote tafel. Alle persoonlijke voorkeuren werden correct genoteerd. We konden apart afrekenen, dat was erg praktisch. Zelfs voor het enige kind in ons gezelschap hebben we iets geschikt gevonden op het uitgebreide menu. Bedankt voor de leuke en lekkere avond!

Excellent midrange restaurant with a wide menu based on Vietnamese kitchen. The quality of the food is high as well as the presentation. Personnel are attentive and courteous, and prices are in line with the offer.

Been here for the first and last time! The food was disgusting, extremely over-seasoned and over-salted, with a slightly spoiled smell, probably due to the high temperatures that day. I politely asked for another meal but my request was refused. I was supposed to pay anyway, but I refused and the employees then called the police. Since it was a civil matter I didn't have to pay anything but we agreed that I would pay a third of the price because I had tried some of the food. I hope I don't get sick! I have never experienced anything so unfriendly in my life.

The kitchen is open to view and you can see how the dishes are freshly and attractively prepared and presented. The food tastes fresh, is tasty and beautifully served. If requested, special orders and refills are no problem and can be implemented quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and simply chic, the lighting is soft and pleasant. A big recommendation, I would happily eat here again. The portions are large and you fill up well.

First of all, the food was delicious. Unfortunately we had to wait half an hour before we could order something to drink. When we finally had the opportunity to order our food, other guests who came after us were already almost finished eating. A starter didn't come at all and was then served in the middle of the main course. Since we complained about it (moderately), the waitress left the table without a word after paying. It's a shame because, as I said, the food tasted good.
