Nhy Star in Dortmund

Wir waren vor unserem Konzertbesuch im Nhy Star. Die Location war ok, da ist noch Luft nach oben. Aber das Essen war wirklich klasse, frisches Gemüse, auf den Punkt zubereitet, tolle Vorspeise, toll angerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, und dazu waren die Preise für das gute Essen moderat. Alles in allem gibt von uns eine klare Empfehlung!

Ich war nun zum dritten Mal dort und jedesmal würde meine Bestellung falsch gebracht. Alle drei Mal die falsche Soße, dieses Mal auch die falsche Füllung der Sommerrollen. Das ist mir im gleichen Restaurant in Bochum nie passiert.

Nos encontramos con este restaurante por accidente y fue muy gratamente sorprendido. Tuvimos rollitos de verano como entrante y platos principales de pollo y pato, y todo estaba fresco y delicioso. El servicio fue rápido y muy servicial y lo puedo recomendar si te gusta la buena comida a un precio razonable.

Very friendly staff, super delicious food that comes very, very quickly. There are no eternal waiting times like elsewhere. The tables are a bit small and are too crowded - but that means more people can enjoy authentic Vietnamese dishes.

Il locale propone cucina vietnamita, il menu è abbastanza ampio, anche con soluzioni vegetariane. Il personale è molto gentile ed efficiente, nonostante sembrino molto giovani.

I came here because I wanted to eat Vietnamese food for the first time in a while, and I was very satisfied. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the food was delicious. Moreover, the food was served very quickly and I was able to enjoy my meal without having to wait. The price is reasonable and I would like to visit again.

I am new in Dortmund, luckely we found this amazing and authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Not only the food and drinks are amazing, the staff members are really nice, professional and caring. 5 Starts to them! For sure we will come back!

Located in the middle of the city center. Lots of activity around it. Reservations are better on weekends as the restaurant is busy. Price performance is very good and the food tastes delicious. We had nothing to complain about. I'd love to come back.

The service is extremely friendly, the food is delicious and the menu offers a wide variety. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. I was there for the first time and was thrilled. The guests are diverse and colorful, which creates an authentic atmosphere. However, the ambience could still be improved.

Wir wurden 20 Minuten lang garnicht wahrgenommen und nicht bedient. Es sind mehrfach Mitarbeiter an uns vorbeigegangen und wir wurden komplett ignoriert. Ich kann diesen Laden nicht weiterempfehlen!

Pho is just ordinary pho, but the atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the service is particularly enthusiastic.

Whenever I'm in Dortmund, I visit this delicious Vietnamese restaurant not far from Dortmund's main train station, usually accompanied by someone. I find the stay, at least indoors, pleasant. Otherwise very friendly and informative staff and very freshly prepared food. The homemade drinks, whether cold or warm, were also very tasty. After Corona, the Ukraine war and the general increase in costs, the prices are of course a little higher here too, but you also get something for your money.

My first visit to a Vietnamese restaurant - and it was such a hit. Starting with the very friendly service up to the explanation of the basics of Vietnamese cuisine, it was a real pleasure. The food has a variety of flavors that is second to none. 🤩

Echt heel lekker, écht Vietnamees gegeten! Veel groente en heerlijke smaken!! Het voelde alsof we weer even in Vietnam waren. En inderdaad je voor-, hoofd- en nagerecht krijg je kort na elkaar opgediend… dat is normaal in Vietnam en vinden wij niet erg. Fijne, enthousiaste en goed Engels sprekende dame in de bediening (wij spreken bijna geen Duits) waarmee we een heel leuk gesprek hadden over onze én haar ervaringen in Vietnam. Wij raden dit restaurant aan en komen zeker terug als we in de buurt zijn!!

We were there during the week and had a reservation. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. I can't judge what the situation is like at the weekend. The food was very tasty. I had a duck dish from the Nhy Star recommendations on the menu. The only slightly negative comment about the dishes is sometimes that it is served with vegetables but not exactly what kind of vegetables, but in my opinion this does not justify deducting a star. Small note on the side: the fruit-based drinks are really recommended. I had a lime-based one (like Ipanema only without ginger ale). The menu is quite extensive, but you can check it out online if you are undecided. The staff were really friendly and answered any questions regarding the dishes. All in all, I really liked the restaurant and would definitely come back.

Enjoy delicious Vietnamese cuisine here

I was in this delicious restaurant again today and was really looking forward to my meal, just like the day before. During my business trips here in Dortmund and then directly next to my hotel I always go to the Vietnamese restaurant. This time I ordered a salad with mango and shrimp (No.16) as a starter. I returned it after a short trial period because it didn't correspond to the picture and some ingredients were missing. The service employee then took the salad into the kitchen and 5 minutes later the service employee came back to my table and, with the chopsticks in his hand and looking around in the plate, asked what was wrong. I repeated my complaint and said that the salad was missing ingredients. By now I was also hungry for the main course. The service employee then accepted this with doubt and shortly afterwards served our main course, a delicious PHo and the dish for my colleague. The Pho was sensationally delicious. When the bill came, the salad, which cost €10.90 and had been returned by me, appeared on the bill after all. I questioned and criticized this. I was told that they would like to make improvements. I told the team that I wasn't happy over here and if you were serious. In the end everything stayed as it was. I immediately paid the bill and we said goodbye. Unfortunately, this was my last visit to the restaurant. The food pho and curry was otherwise super delicious, Customer service - 1*

We come here at least once a week for lunch. Then there is menu 3, but with spring rolls instead of summer rolls. We don't have to say anything anymore, the extremely friendly service has it all! The Pho is authentic Vietnam and so is the service💖

I have never tasted better, more authentic and fresher Vietnamese cuisine! For me, Nhy Star is the best restaurant at the moment and I look forward to visiting it every time! I come every two weeks and drive several kilometers to do it, but it's worth it! The service is second to none, I was always served courteously and am happy to give tips here!

Food good. An interesting experience in discovering new flavors. Unfortunately, I'm not used to them, but it's worth eating and seeing for yourself😊

Don't be surprised, I give 4 stars in all areas but only one overall. Here you are lured into the restaurant with an incorrect price on the menu and pay 30% more after your meal. The excuse: “Oh then there must be an old map hanging out there”. No money back! Therefore only one star overall.

Great and authentic Vietnamese cuisine with very friendly staff and not too crowded at lunchtime. The atmosphere is inviting and you didn't have to wait long for the food. Tried 4 different dishes on the lunch menu and they were all delicious. Price wise, it's definitely worth the money. The best Asian restaurant in Dortmund city center!

Een echte aanrader! Geweldig lekker gegeten. Grote porties, veel groentjes, mooi gepresenteerde borden, schappelijke prijs. Een speciale vermelding voor de super vriendelijke bediening, die vlot Engels sprak. We waren met een groot gezelschap van 15 personen. We zaten allemaal aan 1 grote tafel. Alle persoonlijke voorkeuren werden correct genoteerd. We konden apart afrekenen, dat was erg praktisch. Zelfs voor het enige kind in ons gezelschap hebben we iets geschikt gevonden op het uitgebreide menu. Bedankt voor de leuke en lekkere avond!

Excellent midrange restaurant with a wide menu based on Vietnamese kitchen. The quality of the food is high as well as the presentation. Personnel are attentive and courteous, and prices are in line with the offer.

Been here for the first and last time! The food was disgusting, extremely over-seasoned and over-salted, with a slightly spoiled smell, probably due to the high temperatures that day. I politely asked for another meal but my request was refused. I was supposed to pay anyway, but I refused and the employees then called the police. Since it was a civil matter I didn't have to pay anything but we agreed that I would pay a third of the price because I had tried some of the food. I hope I don't get sick! I have never experienced anything so unfriendly in my life.

Super nice service staff, very attentive and quick at the table, friendly tone and competent advice on intolerances (gluten). The kitchen is open to view and you can see how the dishes are freshly and attractively prepared and presented. The food tastes fresh, is tasty and beautifully served. If requested, special orders and refills are no problem and can be implemented quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and simply chic, the lighting is soft and pleasant. A big recommendation, I would happily eat here again. The portions are large and you fill up well.

best Vietnamese in Dortmund Top food, absolutely recommended

First of all, the food was delicious. Unfortunately we had to wait half an hour before we could order something to drink. When we finally had the opportunity to order our food, other guests who came after us were already almost finished eating. A starter didn't come at all and was then served in the middle of the main course. Since we complained about it (moderately), the waitress left the table without a word after paying. It's a shame because, as I said, the food tasted good.

Despite reservations, we had to wait for a free table! No privacy. Service untrained, poor, snack level. The food in this mall was just average. We would have to wait 15 minutes for a good order. Nobody asks everything was OK, it tasted good! After paying we were immediately asked to get up and give up the table because the next people were waiting. Hammer. I've never experienced anything so unfriendly. No thanks.

We were thrilled! The shop may look inconspicuous, but it scores with extremely delicious food and fresh drinks. First we had summer rolls and then the curry with tofu. Everything was super tasty and came without a long wait. The service was great too - friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We sat at the window and had a really nice time (preferably with a reservation ;))

Really disappointing now. Unfortunately, toilets have always been pretty dirty and smell bad, today there is no soap and the ambience is not outstanding either. Nhy Star has been my favorite restaurant for years because the food has always been delicious. But the last few times the summer rolls were noticeably smaller and less filled, the hoisin sauce was obviously stretched and was totally watery, and the rice portion was small. Now the prices of almost every dish have been increased again within a short period of time. 6€ for a portion of summer rolls that is barely filled is not justified (the price previously was 3.90€). The main courses have also become more expensive even though 80% of the curry consists of mushrooms. Sorry, but for such prices it's no longer worth it if even the quality drops. A pity

Das Ambiente lässt nicht, bis auf ein paar Bambus Stangen, auf ein vietnamesisches Restaurant schließen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, die Vorspeise, Nummer 1 Gemüsesuppe, war sehr gut. Die Hauptspeise Nummer 62, entencurry war eher Durchschnitt. Der Reis war schnell kalt, die Ente war nicht knusprig und ob Aubergine typisch Vietnam ist, bin ich mir nicht sicher.

Very friendly service, extremely tasty food and a diverse menu. Price / offer: Very good. Been there twice and loved it both times. The clientele is very diverse and colorful, which is very authentic. The ambience could still be worked on. A larger store would be recommended given this popularity :-)

TABLE RES. 6:00 PM WITH 4 PEOPLE: UNFORTUNATELY IN THE AREA BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE COUNTER: EXTREMELY UNQUIET AND HECTIC WHEN NEW GUESTS ARRIVE; SERVICE IS FRIENDLY BUT PRETTY OVERWHATED. FIRST DRINK ORDER AFTER SEVERAL REQUESTS ONLY POSSIBLE AFTER 35 MINUTES, EVEN LATER IT TOOK DIFFERENT QUESTIONS FROM VARIOUS WAITERS UNTIL DRINKS ORDER WAS POSSIBLE, THEN 3 MORE QUESTIONS BECAUSE THE BEER DIDN'T COME. VERY LOUD, HECTIC, WARM, CONSTANTLY CLOSE AROUND OUR TABLE AND ANXIETY WHEN LEAVING OTHER GUESTS. FOOD OVERALL AVERAGE TO MODERATE - THE 4 OF US WILL NOT COME BACK.

We made reservations online for Valentine's Day and were already looking forward to the evening. When we arrived we were told that the online reservations were 'not working' that day, even though we also had confirmation that we should leave again. That in itself was very annoying, but the behavior of the staff was really abysmal. No apology and we were immediately made to understand that we should get away as quickly as possible. Terrible experience. Not recommendable.

The broth of my soup always had a sweetish taste, which I don't like with pho soup. The place was full and therefore everything was very loud. So it wasn't that comfortable. The food is average, like in a bistro. The service was very friendly and quick.

The food is always very tasty. Unfortunately, the service is sometimes a bit inattentive, so you sometimes have to let them know several times that you want to pay.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend ordering takeaway at all. We've eaten here before and we really enjoyed it. But now...the summer rolls mainly had noodles and rice as a filling, the soy sauce with it had a strange taste. I looked in vain for the tamarind sauce in the main course. The crispy noodles with fried vegetables with coriander had no coriander present, the vegetables were not fried in any way and everything was swimming in a brown tasteless glutamate sauce. I'm super disappointed. The things were also packaged very unprofessionally...so that when I got home the whole sauce was floating in the bottom of the bag. Unfortunately we don't anymore.

Actually 0 stars. The restaurant was cold, no heating. The food was also cold. Taste had nothing to do with Vietnamese dishes. Shrimp and meat dish was bad. Only 2 shrimps on the plate and 8 mini pieces of meat. Serve with a salad without dressing. Never again.!!! .
