Nettes Restaurant. Super leckere Flammkuchen und die aus der Region. Esse kam ziemlich schnell.

Bin immer wieder gerne im News Cafe Bad Hersfeld. Gerichte sind sehr lecker und die Cocktails schmecken super. Wenn man dort sitzt wo die Bar ist kann es auch schon mal sehr laut werden. Lieber vorher einen Platz reservieren.

Nettes Cafe mit sehr freundlichen Bedienungen und sehr ansprechendem Ambiente. Auch die Preisgestaltung ist meiner Meinung nach adäquat. Das Essen war, auch im Vergleich mit anderen Restaurants mit vergleichbarer Karte, ordentlich ohne außergewöhnlich gewesen zu sein. Insgesamt ansprechendes Cafe, das ich, sollte ich mal wieder in der Stadt sein, wieder besuchen werde.

Schnitzel schmeckt nach nichts. Salat war alt. Ambiente ist altbacken. Aber das Personal ist freundlich

Beschämen, dass noch nicht mal Milchalternativen für Kaffeespezialitäten angeboten werden. In 2026 sollte das bei einem Café Standard sein.

Wir haben gut zu Mittag gegessen. Gute Auswahl, Preis- Leistung sind angemessen und der Service ist freundlich und bemüht.

Meine letzte 3 Sterne Bewertung wurde ohne Grund gelöscht. Alles in allem ok. Service ist top, Getränke und Essen hat ein gutes Preis/ Leistungs Verhältnis. Man sollte reservieren.

Letzte Woche waren wir dort essen und leider sehr enttäuscht. Ein Blick in die Speisekarte hat sehr großes Unverständnis ausgelöst- denn die Allergenkennzeichnungen stimmen offenbar nicht!! Auf Nachfrage beim Personal wurde mir sogar gesagt, dass die Angaben in der Karte nicht korrekt seien. Dies ist aus meiner Sicht extrem gefährlich, besonders für Menschen mit Allergien oder Unverträglichkeiten. Ein Beispiel: Beim Apfelstrudel wurde angegeben, dass kein Getreide enthalten sei, obwohl dieser offensichtlich mit Mehl hergestellt wird. Das Personal hat daraufhin extra in der Küche nachgefragt und dort wurde bestätigt, das Getreide enthalten ist. Und das betrifft leider nicht nur den Apfelstrudel, sondern auch weitere Gerichte, wie den Reibekuchen. So etwas darf heutzutage nicht passieren!!!! Man sollte sich auf Allergenangaben verlassen können. Für Betroffene kann das ernsthafte gesundheitliche Folgen haben. Das selbst das Personal bestätigt, dass die Angaben in der Karte nicht stimmen, macht die ganze Sache noch schlimmer und verantwortungsloser... Hier besteht dringend Verbesserungsbedarf!!!!

Wir sind oft hier zum Essen. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist immer sehr lecker. Wir empfehlen das Lokal gerne weiter. LG Elke Lapp

Mit unseren Kindern waren im News Café essen. Wir wurden nett empfangen. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Getränke wurden schnell aufgenommen und gebracht. Auch das bestellte Essen kam sehr zügig. Qualitativ und geschmacklich war das Essen top. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Gemischtes Bild: Super Service und leckeres Essen, das auch ansprechend serviert wird. Leider sind Portionen klein, so dass man nicht richtig satt wird. Preis-Leistung dadurch nicht wirklich gut. Viele Getränke leider nur in Flaschen erhält, selbst Cola gibt's nur in Flaschen. Die Tische standen eng und es fehlte frische Luft.

Klasse eingerichtetes Lokal mit guter Karte und absolut fairen Preisen. Einer der ganz wenigen, guten Optionen in Bad Hersfeld

Sehr schönes Bistro/Cafe im Herzen von Bad Hersfeld. Waren auf der Durchreise. Vom Latte Macciato bis zum Flammkuchen, alles sehr lecker. Nette aufmerksame Bedienungen. Sehr gerne wieder.

Leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung, passable Preise und nettes Ambiente (mit Leseecke) wenn man es urig mag. Ist weiter zu empfehlen.

Essen war lecker, Ambiente gemütlich und der Service war auch sehr gut. Selbst eine kleine Kritik wurde sofort angenommen und verbessert.

Wir waren hier im November 2025 zum Klassentreffen, es ist ein nettes Café. Essen ist gut Bürgerlich und das Preisleistung stimmt auch.

Super nette Bedienung, sehr aufmerksam. Sehr gepflegte Lokalität. Der Flammkuchen mit Lachs war lecker und der Primitivo kann etwas. Gerne wieder.

Von außen unscheinbar und trotzdem Mega schön Dort empfehlenswert

Wir waren heute mit eine Gruppe von 10 Personen im News Café. Das Essen war sehr gut, ebenso der Service. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Unscheinbarer geht es nicht: Von außen ist das News Café kaum als gastronomischer Betrieb zu erkennen. Nur ein kleines Schild über der Tür. Durch die großen Fenster glimmt lediglich schwacher Kerzenschein. Doch kaum gelangt man ins Innere, ändert sich der Eindruck vollends: Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, gut besucht, kaum ein Tisch frei. Hat man erst mal einen ergattert, denkt man sich: Hier will ich so schnell nicht mehr weg. Wir begannen mit einem Mojito - ein guter Einstieg. Statt die Karte zu verlangen, fragten wir die sehr zuvorkommende Kellnerin nach einer Empfehlung. Diee Spaghettigerichte waren umwerfend lecker. Würden wir in Bad Hersfeld wohnen, wären wir wahrscheinlich Stammgäste hier.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5 stars) Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with our visit to the News Café. There were no cakes on offer, which is a real shame for a café. The coffee was unfortunately cold and tasted very weak – we would have expected much more. While the ambiance is really nice and inviting, that was unfortunately the best part of the visit. Overall, the café seems more show than substance. It's a shame, because with a bit more quality coffee and a matching cake selection, it could be a really great place.

There's something for everyone on the menu here...from breakfast to lunch, a quick coffee, and an evening cocktail. Pleasant, friendly staff and good, delicious food. Reservations are recommended at certain times.

We stumbled upon News more by chance to satisfy a small hunger and were extremely pleasantly surprised by the food, the ambiance, and the extremely friendly service. Since we're still in Bad Hersfeld for a few more days, we'll definitely be back 👍

My overall grade, my personal opinion: Poor to unsatisfactory.

While passing through, I received very friendly service here. My dish was spaghetti with shrimp in tomato sauce, which was really good and not only gave me energy for the rest of my trip but also put me in a good mood. With a little more time, I would definitely have indulged in dessert. Incidentally, the restaurant is located right on a market square with parking and other cafés and restaurants, surrounded by the beautiful old town. Bottom line: worth a visit!

Bottom line: highly recommended! We treated ourselves to delicious veggie burgers here, along with both hot and cold drinks. The burgers and fries were really good, and the value for money was good. We sat outside, where there's plenty of seating, but the interior also looked very inviting. We'd be happy to go back!

As always, when we go to a performance at the Abbey Ruins, we stop there and have never regretted it. 👍🏻

Carelessly prepared and not good quality - Caesar salad is just a limp salad smeared with sauce and a half-cooked schnitzel on top!

Frank Rosin would fire the chef! I had creamed schnitzel with fried potatoes and a side salad. A brown sauce as a cream sauce? And then it tasted distinctly like a slimy pre-made sauce. When I asked, I was told the sauce was homemade, which doesn't make the fact that the sauce tasted bad any better. The schnitzels didn't look homemade either. The side salad was okay, just iceberg lettuce with a few radish slices in sour cream. On the other hand, the fried potatoes were actually quite good. When I asked where the Hersfeld Festival beer was brewed, the answer was more questioning than answering: "In Bad Hersfeld." If the prices were based on fairground stall prices, you'd know what you were getting into with the food. The ambiance and drinks are good to very good. So, "just" a place for a fancy, good drink.

I've never experienced such bad service in a restaurant! After we'd been seated for half an hour and tried twice to get our attention, we were fobbed off with a snappy "I'll be right there." I don't have to put up with that. We got up and went to the Karma Restaurant, where we were served very friendly and without having to wait. Great service, friendly staff, and delicious food. I can only recommend it to people who have had similar experiences. H.H.

A great place to stop for a bite to eat before visiting the abbey ruins. And of course, afterward, too.

A very centrally located restaurant, right on the market square and within walking distance of the abbey ruins. The ambiance feels very modern yet positively out of date. The food was wonderful and left nothing to be desired. However, the completely worn-out bench we were seated on was a shame. It was visually unattractive and also uncomfortable to sit on. We found the service absolutely abysmal. The waitresses rarely appeared, even though it was apparently not overly busy. When an order was possible, it took a very long time for the ordered drinks to arrive, if not completely forgotten. In my opinion, the "bartender" took the cake. When I asked if it would be possible to top up a cocktail I had ordered with some juice, the answer was that the cocktail was so strong that it wouldn't dilute anything. For almost 12 euros, I, as a customer, can expect a drink to be adjusted to my taste, even for an additional charge, instead of being rudely dismissed and left standing. All in all, a beautifully located, very attractive restaurant with a great look, but serious deficiencies in service and customer service.

The tarte flambée was great, generously topped, and also very good-looking...absolutely delicious...and all for €10.50! The staff was nice and friendly, everything was great!

It took 40 minutes for the waitress to bring four drinks. Through the open doors, you could see her standing bored behind the counter and only preparing the drinks when asked where her order was.

We've eaten there many times. Always delicious. We've never come home disappointed. Big compliments to the whole team.

A room was reserved, but unfortunately that didn't work out; we ended up sitting in the only large guest room. Service was very friendly, but after the food was delivered we didn't even get back to us whether we wanted to order a drink until we were clearing away. Portions were ok, a little tip: bigger plates! We all had fries falling into our laps as we ate our burgers and maybe a little more finesse - decoration on the plate, a little something to please the eye. Otherwise: you can go there.

I can't judge the News Café at all, it must be a great shop. Reservation was not possible and we were sent away.

After the renovation, the ambience has improved significantly and the tried and tested menu has been retained. Friendly service and even on Saturday evenings we get our drinks in an absolutely reasonable time.

We had reserved a table for 4 for a week, it was in the back of the restaurant in the middle, like a presentation plate... the food was a lot better last year in October, the burger looked so desolate on the plate and had a lot of room for improvement in terms of ingredients, both technically and in terms of taste, the tarte flambée was half raw and the Caesar salad was carelessly prepared, everything lacked that certain kick. I've eaten better at motorway rest stops, the Cuba Libre was lousy, you sat under the lamps that were way too high, like under headlights...no comfort and the worst thing was that there seemed to be no music, the evening was uncomfortable.Most of the guests didn't stay long...service was very friendly and quick and the toilets were clean....but in conclusion, it won't be any more so quickly...it's a shame

Das Restaurant war sehr voll und es gab kaum Plätze am Samstagabend. Der Service war gut und schnell . Die Portionen waren gut und vernünftig angerichtet. Die Auswahl, der Karte hätte größer sein können. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden!

I had a very tasty burger (around €12) and this wonderful dessert, which was also a visual delight. We had booked the table in advance. The service was attentive.

Nice atmosphere, food just average, staff (just towards the end of the day) absolutely unfriendly and not service-oriented.

We really enjoyed the food, tarte flambée and schnitzel. The atmosphere is cozy. I found the price-performance ratio to be okay. It is advantageous if you reserve a table in advance. I would be happy to give my recommendation.

It looks like it from outside like an authority... But very comfortable and a cool team

The food is great, as is the ambience, but what I don't think is right is that the waitress wasn't happy again today because we unfortunately didn't leave a tip. Of course, tipping is nice and I'm always happy to tip, but when I pay with a card as a waitress, I find it absolutely cheeky to say: I can only accept tips in cash, because there wasn't even any mention of a tip. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time with the waitress. I would like something like this to be left up to you and not to be looked down upon if you don't leave a tip because you pay with a card. Otherwise everything was great!

The ambience and the selection of drinks are really good but the food is unfortunately very bad. We had the schnitzel with chili cheese sauce and a burger. The schnitzel was like a sponge full of fat and the sauce was just greasy and disgusting. The hash browns had just gotten color and would have needed another minute in the oil

To welcome you, there is some information. The only food is tarte flambée. Other food only from 6 p.m. Ok, they're still looking for a chef... then I wanted a Virgin Colada, which is on the menu and is only available from 5 p.m.?! Then just a Michcafe. There is no oat/soy milk. I find it rather difficult these days. Drinks came quickly, but afterwards there was no question as to whether you would like something else to drink, and that was a shame even though the service staff came by the table several times and saw the empty cups (the café was only 1/3 full).

THE place to go in Hersfeld .... it used to be. Has decreased significantly. The delicious ciabata baguettes? It doesn't exist anymore. The delicious tarte flambées? neither. Instead, a "fusion" of tarte flambée and pizza that is no good as tarte flambée and not good as pizza either. People, reflect on what made you great!

Great attraction, highly recommended

The News Cafe is also a great place to go as a group; booking in advance is an advantage. The food is tasty, served quickly and has a good price/performance ratio. The staff is nice and friendly. Parking spaces are available nearby. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside.👍

We were there one morning shortly after it opened. We actually wanted to have breakfast. No longer offered. If it opens at 11 a.m. it would also be a bit late for that. I decided on a snack - sweet potato fries with sour cream/honey/mustard dip. It was delicious, the potatoes were nice and crispy. During our hour there, only a few tables in the front area were occupied.

Great in itself, but the fact that there is no oat milk and that it is difficult to get something vegan is already weak.

The food came quickly and tasted delicious. The volume level was very loud so you could hardly hear the music. The service was fine except that we could only pay by card and we were informed that unfortunately you could only give a tip in cash. But since we only had a card with us, that didn't work. Afterwards the waitress was very unfriendly and grimaced and there was no more goodbye. Very unfortunate.

Lots of delicious vegetarian dishes on the menu. In summer you can sit outside wonderfully. In the autumn and winter months it is also very attractive and cozy inside. Great location.

Always worth a visit. Always friendly service staff. The food is always tasty and hot and arrives quickly. Only mini criticism. It would be nice if the drinks came at the same time. The wine usually comes a few minutes later and the beer comes a few minutes later. Decent price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back :-)

An hour wait for four cocktails. How does something like that work? 9:15 p.m. arrival 9:30 p.m. Service brings cards 9:45 p.m. takes order. Got cocktails at 10:15 p.m. After 9 p.m. there aren't even nachos or anything. So every time I'm disappointed there. I think the store is really overrated. The location is good. That's it.

I only ate one soup, which was very tasty, my friend had the chili con carne, it was too much meat for him, that's the only criticism. But if you like that, you'll get your money's worth here.

Delicious fresh salads before visiting the festival, very busy and friendly service. Officially only open until 11 p.m. during the week, but after visiting the festival we were able to end the evening until midnight. A thank you to the team (visit on 8/13/24). We'd love to come back

We went for dinner with around 30 people on the occasion of a birthday. There was a small menu with a selection for meat lovers and vegetarians. Perfect: almost everyone got their food at the same time and it was good and hot. Not so good: the coffee later could have been put on the table in pots. Nevertheless, highly recommended.

Went there for cocktails with a friend. My Caipirinha was OK but both of them didn't taste like alcohol and one was a Long Island Ice Tea which has a lot of alcohol. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she said that they were made exactly according to the recipe and that couldn't be right. I think this is really bad customer treatment. And it was the last time I was in the news. Although I always enjoyed being there. And that where I paid €30. I think it's really cheeky, but unfortunately that's to be expected with unskilled workers. L

Best restaurant in Bad Hersfeld!!!

We had 2 schnitzel dishes here. Fried potatoes were still raw and not seasoned. Schnitzel had no taste, extremely greasy and prepared in the deep fryer. Service friendly Won't be coming back.

We were there when it was raining heavily. The service staff were very brave because they had to serve without rain protection. As the owner, you should really think about whether you should dress the service staff in rain protection.

Unfortunately we didn't eat there, so we wouldn't have been so disappointed. Nevertheless, we went there three times a day and even late in the evening after the night performance we received friendly and good service. We will definitely eat there the next time we visit the festival. If you like my comment then please give me a 👍 (thumbs up) like!!

Nice service and quick delivery. Unfortunately we had a middle table, hence the deduction for the ambience. Food was plenty inexpensive and tasted very good. Will come again, guaranteed!

Seit vielen Jahren ein guter Platz mit guter Atmosphäre zum Verweilen, für nice Speisen und Drinks... Kaffee, Tee und Süßes passen auch.

I had wine spritzer, unfortunately without ice and lemon, and was not asked for. Service ladies vary in friendliness.

A few of the young, petite girls were a little slow and leisurely and there were enough guests... The portions have become smaller. The chicken burger was a bit tasteless but okay. Very few fries
