What we were particularly pleased about was that the team was available at all times, even beforehand, to discuss all details and requests with us. Communication was uncomplicated, warm, and professional – we felt well looked after throughout. Our guests felt very comfortable, and we received consistently positive feedback about the location, the food, and the service. If you're planning a special celebration in a stylish setting—be it a wedding, an anniversary, or simply a lovely get-together—we highly recommend the Neue Burgschänke. A huge thank you to the entire team—you made our day truly special! ❤️ A note for guests with limited mobility: Due to the structural conditions, access to the Neue Burgschänke can be somewhat challenging for older people or those with walking difficulties. However, we were very grateful that the Burgschänke allowed us to drop off our older guests directly in front of the castle, which made access much easier. Here, too, the team's great helpfulness and flexibility were evident.

We had roast beef with onions, a Wiener Schnitzel, and spaghetti with a bottle of water and a spritzer for around €80. The reception was cold and unmotivated; we were about to turn around. But we were hungry and still had to walk down. After dinner, we asked about possible ways down, and were offered, among other things, to jump over the wall... We were always friendly. I was stupid enough to tip over 10% for a poor meal. I had roast beef with onions; the meat was good, the beans were charred, the potatoes were tasteless, and the sauce was bland. My wife had the Wiener Schnitzel, which looked like a lot, but it was two breaded slices about 3-4 mm thick, average in taste, with overly salty steak fries. My son enjoyed the spaghetti. For €22.00, a pasta dish probably should be, too. We won't be coming back and will also advise against a visit.

The location of the Burgschänke on the Trausnitz is unique. We would have loved to sit on the beautiful terrace, if it weren't for the "overly friendly" waitress. She immediately yelled at us because we hadn't noticed a sign on the floor saying we should wait there until we were seated. When I told her we wanted to take a look at the terrace first, she replied: "As an exception," which isn't actually allowed. This extreme friendliness was too much for us, and we left. Perhaps the waitress should consider a career change.

It's a really nice atmosphere up there, and the food was also very good. Unfortunately, the last round was served at 9:45 p.m., and at 10 p.m. we were clearly asked to leave. We were a group of 35 people, and this information wasn't communicated to us beforehand. No one was able to enjoy their last drink. It really wasn't a nice ending.

Service war auf Zack und die Qualität des Essens hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Of sind die Restaurants bei so Ausflugszielen nicht besonders gut. Dort ist es anders. Ich würde jeder Zeit wider nur wegen des Essens kommen.

Wir waren spontan in der Burgschänke, die seit kurzer Zeit von neuen Pächtern betrieben wird. Es hat alles wunderbar gepasst: der grandiose Blick auf die Martinskirche und das Isartal, die freundliche Bedienung und natürlich das gute Essen. Ich hatte einen Schweizer Wurstsalat, der schön angerichtet war und sehr gut schmeckte. Meine Frau und meine Tochter genossen Pasta mit ausgelösten Flusskrebsen, beiden schmeckte es vorzüglich. Klare Empfehlung.

Unglaublich, aber wahr. Gerne gehen wir abends in die Burgschenke auf einen Drink. Erst saßen wir auf der Aussenterrasse. 19:20.Nach fünf Minuten meinte der immer freundliche Kellner, ob wir auf die Innenterrasse gehen wollen, weil er schließt. 30 Minuten vor dem angegebenen Termin! Dann zogen wir in das Restaurant, um auf der Innenterrasse platziert zu werden. 80 % war frei. Trotz mehrfacher Bitte, dass wir uns einen Platz nehmen könnten, haben zwei unkooperative Bardamen den Zutritt verwehrt und uns 5 Minuten stehen lassen. Leider durften wir deren Namen nicht erfahren. Dann ging es ohne Drink ins Il Padrino an der Isar. Nach 2 Minuten hatten wir unser Getränk!!! Es geht auch anders!!!

We celebrated our wedding in the new Burgschänke. Unfortunately, parking spaces are public and are therefore immediately gone when the weather is good. The location at the castle is generally very nice and the view from the terrace is unique. Space for 40-50 guests is easily available, including inside. Very relaxed planning, always open to questions and requests. The food was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The family style starter was very well received. Only the meat (onion roast?) was criticized a little (slices too thick, taste). Price-performance for our event was top. Clear recommendation.

The location is simply unique. After the arduous climb, have a drink on the sun terrace with a wide view over the Isar valley.

The atmosphere at the castle is really nice. However, we were greeted and treated very unfriendly by a waitress. Unfortunately that ruined the whole good atmosphere. Overall, it's still a very nice atmosphere.

The service is professional, but it is very, very important to let the waiter assign you a seat otherwise you will be informed of it. The food, as far as can be judged from 1 small dish, is of very high quality, everything is fresh and excellently prepared. Gastronomy at a high level with a corresponding ambience.

We were there and were absolutely dissatisfied. The cappuccino is very small and was cold. The fruit tea was a bag of teapot tea with hot water for 4 euros! Overall the cake was okay. We had to ask three times whether we could pay and had to wait a long time for the drinks and food, even though there were very few guests in the restaurant. The conditions were also unfriendly. It was very dark and cold in the restaurant.

Would have loved to stop by. We were 10 people. When we asked the waitress about a place for us, it was very unfriendly. Should have waited 20 minutes until the tables were cleaned. Tables were empty and in a clean condition. So why do we have to wait. Then we went back to the old town without having to worry about anything and let ourselves be pampered there. Very unfortunate.

A really great restaurant with good, attentive and fast service, delicious, well-thought-out, modernly interpreted food and a wonderful view of the city and the countryside. In my opinion, the noodles, at least the ones I had, were homemade and well served. The fried chicken was not served on the bone as usual but was served almost like a schnitzel and was super juicy, the potato salad was also home-made and very tasty garnished with cucumber and sprouts. Everything tasted good. The waiting time from ordering to drinks to eating was also more than okay. Everything in the restaurant was nicely decorated and cozy. A sun terrace, only for self-service drinks, is beautifully located on a sunny castle wall and is certainly a good place to stay there even on cooler days. So actually a good four stars. Unfortunately, the beer garden was already prepared for the winter and was a bit uncomfortable, but you can't really say anything about that, we were happy that it was still open and we still got a place, you have to get there with the staff first Summer is definitely great. Nevertheless, I deduct a point because I find the process of seating/guest placement more than unfortunate as a responsible guest. Of course, every landlord has the right to run his restaurant the way he likes. But then maybe you should Firstly - an usher who is always present and visible to everyone welcomes every new guest and has them escorted to their seat by a service person and Secondly - under no circumstances should you express the frustration that you have when it doesn't work out the way you think it should with flippant comments to the guest. It should be clear to everyone that good service, great food and a nice ambience also come at a price and that's why we found the prices for food and drinks to be at the top but still reasonable.

We reserved in advance and got a very nice table. The food was great but the waiter was incredibly unfriendly and responded to our drink order by rolling his eyes because someone wanted a glass of tap water with their coffee. Then we got an incredibly sugary “basil spritz” in which we couldn't taste or see any basil and wanted to complain about it, whereupon a visibly annoyed waiter explained to us that this wasn't possible. Drinks or not, it's not about the money for us, the service was just terrible. Apart from that, highly recommended.

Very nice view outside on the terrace, I can really recommend it. You should visit it when there is less going on and the kitchen is open longer. Unfortunately, what you felt about the service seemed to go haywire that day. Unfortunately, the food we wanted wasn't available that day and the kitchen closed earlier. The selection was very limited, but what we ordered was still very tasty. We can recommend stopping there.♡

Tested again for the first time since 2019 on the occasion of the wedding anniversary and the previous good reviews. At that time it was given 3 stars. Has changed extremely positively. When making a reservation (recommended) on the terrace with a great view of LA and the sunset, we offered a special table setting for the wedding anniversary for €5/person. With a white tablecloth and napkins and flowers and the table at the edge with a great view, it was fantastic! Service very friendly and committed! Food was absolutely fine with a 40 minute wait at 7 p.m. when the terrace was full. Overall the food was very good, as were the drinks. I find the prices to be okay, especially considering the location of the restaurant. Keep it up!

First we had to wait in line to get in even though there were plenty of free tables. The waiter sat us at a sticky table with wasps circling around it. The service is unfriendly, the only good thing about this place is the beautiful view

Queued in front of the restaurant for 10 minutes because, like in the GDR, you had to wait until you were seated. After another 10 minutes the order was placed. Waited another 10 minutes and still no beer at the table. I got up and left. It's a shame the restaurant and the terrace would actually be a nice place.

I'm always skeptical about restaurants in tourist hotspots - but here I was absolutely positively surprised! The fried chicken was juicy, the breading wasn't too greasy and the potato salad was perfect. The fried gnocchi were a vegetarian delight with a lot of sophistication - a big thank you to the kitchen for not always just serving the obligatory cheese spaetzle for vegetarians. Also worth mentioning is the very friendly service, which was immediately available to help us when we were stung by a wasp. It's safe to stop here and enjoy the cuisine and the great view of Landshut.

There were three of us on a weekday. First a walk in the castle park and then a very good lunch with a magnificent view in the castle tavern. Good thing we had reserved a table, there was a huge rush.

Fantastic view, you can't deny it. But the service in particular seems to be based on this good reputation. I didn't feel welcome, especially by the lady. I don't understand what I did wrong, but she responded very rudely to every question. Too bad, that was it for me. At the end the lady also asks “did everything fit, or is it still not right?”

The dear boss Dominik always had an open ear for us during our planning/preparations and always made us feel good and thus took away all the tension. Nice place, you can also eat very well here. Unfortunately, they don't have the right knives for a crispy roast. Unfortunately, you can't eat this delicious food with a butter knife. If you want to eat something good there, you should bring your own knife. :-)

The Burgschänke has a somewhat gloomy atmosphere, although the terrace should be very nice in dry weather. Our cake was good, but not outstanding. The food at the next table looked more like it was deep-fried than freshly prepared. The staff was friendly, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. It's better to walk up to the castle, there aren't too many parking spaces.

Landshut is always worth a visit. I was at the castle for the first time today. The Burgschänke is a great restaurant. There are seating options both inside and outside in the guest garden. There are also other seating options with sun chairs and the like. but with self-service. The staff were without exception very friendly. Beautiful, cozy guest garden with a great view of Landshut. The menu surprised us so much that we decided to eat something (actually we just wanted to stay for a coffee). The meat patties with mashed potatoes and the cheese dumplings came quickly and were nice to look at. AND WE WERE GREAT!!! I didn't think the prices were bad at all. I would come back at any time!!!

The portions were sometimes different sizes (20-30% for fried fish, for example) For my father, who has a gastric tube, they conjured up a special dish that wasn't on the menu - it was simply great. The waitress who was responsible for the mass of people did a top job. Our cake was stored there in a refrigerator and the agreed schedule was well adhered to

Special requests from little guests are met with a smile. Great location and beautiful view over Landshut. Had the crusty roast and the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad. When the food came, we ordered the Kaiserschmarrn at the same time. According to the menu it takes about 30 minutes. After almost 60 minutes we asked the waiter what was wrong with our Kaiserschmarrn and were then rudely told that it hadn't been an hour and that he was asking in the kitchen. Shortly afterwards our Kaiserschmarrn arrived. Were disappointed, Kaiserschmarrn was still half raw and more scrambled eggs than Kaiserschmarrn. We showed the Kaiserschmarrn to another waiter, he was disappointed and immediately apologized and bought us a coffee on the house. Despite this experience, we would be happy to come back and recommend the Burgschenke...
