What can I say...that's how gastronomy works. Super friendly service, which also responds perfectly to special requests and great, delicious food. It doesn't get any better. It's a shame that we only went there to eat on vacation. Keep it up….👍👍

Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, dogs are allowed, which made me very happy. But the coin also has a second side. Many families with small children, so a background noise that is second to none. And it wasn't the dogs.

I was here for the first time and was absolutely thrilled. A really great café/restaurant with very nice staff. First we went for a walk and later we sat in the beer garden for almost two hours.o We didn't eat anything that next time 😊 Parking almost directly at the restaurant, we will definitely come back and have already recommended it to others.

Friendly service, unfortunately the salad was no longer crispy and had probably been sitting outside for a while. Too much dressing and wilted.

Nicely located restaurant. Ideal start and end point of a hike. Unfortunately, the food is overpriced or the quality offered does not match the price. (I've eaten much better in a chip shop).

The restaurant reminds us a bit of a "canteen". It wasn't that full, but the noise level was still quite high. The staff gave us a friendly welcome, but the drink order took a little longer to arrive. The food also took a long time, but it almost came cold at our table. The side salad had minimal dressing, which made it difficult for us to eat it so dry. All in all, we were unfortunately disappointed. For us there will be no further visit to this restaurant.

Beautiful, open-plan location with a sheltered outdoor area/veranda. Good food, attentive service. Tried the recommended tarte flambée.

The first time we got lost in the Hardt and happened to come out to Mother Wehner's house. Since then we have been passing by every now and then when we hike. For a piece of cake, waffles or lunch. The card is great. And requests are always happy to be accommodated. For example, at the birthday party when our grandma wanted the currywurst to be “not so spicy”. Everything works. We have now opened twice with larger groups, no problem with reservations. And when 5 out of 10 people canceled at short notice the second time, no one from the restaurant complained. We were even allowed to stay at the big table. Card payment is possible. Unfortunately WiFi is not available. But you don't necessarily need it when you go out to eat. It's in the middle of the forest. I just have a problem with tipping. Somehow I always manage to miscalculate and realize afterwards that I actually gave far too little. I'll be more careful next time.

We had a very pleasant evening with 18 guests to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We received a very warm welcome. As previously discussed, our table was beautifully set. The meal was a complete success and our guests were very satisfied. We would particularly like to highlight the friendly and very accommodating waitress, even though it was very busy that evening due to another celebration. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Great restaurant with a beer garden. The location is surrounded by greenery. From Wienerschnitzel to Kässpätzle to ice cream sundaes, there is everything your heart (and your palate) desires.

Don't go riding there, the guide just shouts at you, he doesn't give you a single compliment or anything like that! And when I arrive again, for example at your parents' house, he says that he spoke very nicely even though that's not the case! DON'T GO THERE

Very nice location. Friendly staff and excellent food and drink. Also very hospitable to dogs. There is an extra dog sausage (lukewarm and without spices). We always enjoy coming here after our hike. The beer garden is also very nice.

The restaurant is very popular for guests with dogs. The coffee is half cold. The tables not wiped down.

I've heard a lot about Mother Wehner and wanted to try it out. I went there with my girlfriend for the first time to make her happy, but I regretted it😥I've never had such bad food anywhere and all for expensive money. Am disappointed. Never again.

Great location in the middle of the countryside. The veggie selection could be a little better so that it's worth visiting again without having to eat the same thing on the third visit at the latest. Hence a star deduction. However, the service was very nice and we had a nice evening.

All you can eat potato pancakes on Thursdays. I didn't expect such poor quality. We have eaten at Mother Wehner's several times and have always been satisfied. But the potato pancakes were more than an imposition. In the first round we kindly pointed out that the potato pancakes were burnt. In the next round, the potato pancakes were even worse. The waiter saw our displeasure and stopped serving us. All I can say is that they no longer need it from Mother Wehner.

Unfortunately, one of the service employees was a bit impatient when he took the order, but another was very nice when I unfortunately had to complain about the food. I wasn't very impressed with the food, but that doesn't mean it's fundamentally bad. Next time I'll try something different. However, the atmosphere is very nice and an ideal place to stop for a break after a nice hike.

I think everyone in Recklinghäuser knows Mother Wehner in Oer or in the Haard? If you don't know it, go there. 🙂 O.K. Now it's Mother Wehner 2.0 - no more plush sofas and a cafe in a half-timbered house - but still nice. We really enjoy being there, the atmosphere, the food and the hospitality are really great. 👍 Go there!

We were there for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday morning. The quality of the food is fine. Everything tasted good too. However, the selection was significantly smaller compared to other restaurants. The price, on the other hand, was relatively high. We'll have breakfast somewhere else next time. But the employees were very nice and attentive.

We celebrated our little one's baptism at Mutter Wehner. The organization/booking was super relaxed and easy. You notice that you are working with professionals. I coordinated and booked the buffet 6 weeks in advance and without having to ask again or anything, everything was perfect at the christening. The buffet was sensationally delicious. We've never had such fresh buffet food (as an example: the schnitzels were super crispy, despite the buffet). The dishes were very tasty/spiced. The decoration was also great, even without much coordination. We were also able to bring our own decorative elements (printed lanterns and small personalized chocolate bars as a welcome gift). We had the cake delivered straight away and since it was the “house” pastry shop, we didn’t have to worry about returning the cake stand. Another advantage of the location: Small children can either play with Mother Wehner's toys or go out to the playground and the ponies. So perfect to keep the little ones busy too. <3 So bottom line: - sensationally delicious food - hardly any organizational effort - you can just relax (you work with professionals)

Large restaurant with a small outdoor beer garden with self-service. We were there after a hike on a Saturday, it was relatively empty and cozy. On Sundays it is very crowded when the weather is good.

We were very disappointed. We ordered a coffee and cocoa and wanted to eat something else. Luckily we didn't do that. The drinks came after half an hour, the coffee was cold and spilled over. We asked for napkins and complained about the coffee. The waitress didn't respond, we then got the napkin ourselves. The cup wasn't clean either. The dryer for our hands doesn't work in the women's toilets either. We told our waitress 6 times for our payment I searched for half an hour myself and then paid. I've never experienced anything so unfriendly, and it wasn't that full either.

I was there for dinner after hiking in the beautiful Haard and ate the Mutter Wehner salad and drank a Weizen. The salad as a fitness option was fantastic and very tasty. The salad is served with fruits that can vary, for me it was apples, pineapple and grape pieces with a walnut, pumpkin and pine nut topping. Really good and highly recommended for the price. I think my photo says it all! The staff was very attentive and friendly and even asked if everything was OK.

Nice service and the food tastes good too

- We were greeted with "unfortunately this and that is over".. Ok, that can happen, with the already small menu but actually a no go on the weekend. Who is planning the shopping? - The tables were/are completely worn out, as if mice were nibbling the corners. Veneers hung half torn off the edges of the table. - Very loud, hardly possible to have a conversation. Ok, it was full too - Prices quite high and what was offered for it, well. Every chip shop can do better. Steak pieces weren't nice, fried potatoes were partly burnt and greasy. Everything is somehow loveless. - Only the service was somewhat convincing, although it also looked like unskilled temporary help to me. But they were all nice. Overall, I have to say, we will NOT be coming back any time soon. You get a lot more for your money elsewhere.

Today I would like to tell you about my visit to a very special restaurant: Mother Wehner in Oer-Erkenschwick. The restaurant is located in the middle of the forest and offers a beautiful atmosphere, especially after a long hike in Stimberg Park. When we got there we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown to the table. The rustic ambience with the wooden furniture and comfortable seating immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The windows were wide open and allowed a view of the green surroundings. It felt like we were dining in the middle of nature. We chose the currywurst, which came from local bratwurst from the butcher Tewes. The taste was simply fantastic! The sausage was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the curry sauce had just the right amount of spiciness. We were also served a portion of crispy fries that were fresh and hot. It was simply a pleasure to try this combination. Another highlight was the “Mutter Wehner Burger”. This was prepared with great attention to detail and impressed with juicy meat, fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce. The fries that accompanied it were also perfect. In addition to the delicious food, the service at Mutter Wehner was also exemplary. The staff was friendly, attentive and always tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We felt really comfortable and well looked after. All in all, I can only warmly recommend the Mutter Wehner in Oer-Erkenschwick. The restaurant not only offers an idyllic location in the forest, but also delicious food and first-class service. Regardless of whether you need a refreshment after a hike in Stimberg Park or just want to enjoy a cozy meal in a beautiful atmosphere - you definitely won't be disappointed here.

We were here for pony riding. Reservations are not possible, but there were enough ponies available yesterday so that we were spared a wait. Took a little longer than expected, running the route in an hour is sporty. Everyone is super nice and helpful. The snack we had at the end in the restaurant was also very tasty and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Meanwhile the children could play in the playground. Gladly again!

Just great. We held our civil wedding celebration at Mother Wehner's with a champagne reception and food. Everything worked great. The process was great, the food tasted great and everything was beautifully prepared. We've also been happy to just have a meal and come back. Really recommended.

Simply cozy in the middle of the forest. Delicious tea, coffee and cake or even a delicious Alster. Top!

Perfect for the whole family, the playground at the back allows the kiddies to play while the adults can have fun. The food is fantastic and highly recommended, keep it up!

I haven't seen such a beautiful atmosphere in a long time. The staff is a 10 out of 10, friendly, attentive and also gives great recommendations. The food is awesome!!! There is nothing that I have to complain about. Thanks to the entire team!

Since the Mutter Wehner excursion restaurant was rebuilt and modernized, people have been happy to come here again. The food is also very tasty and high quality. So it's best to just test it yourself, it's worth it.

Despite the hectic situation and some guests (who can't be please!). The staff was friendly and quick. We were satisfied.

If you want a good breakfast you have to go there

Unfortunately we were very disappointed there 😔 We ate there with four people, the service was there quickly and took the orders. The drinks came pretty quickly. The food came pretty quickly afterwards. But unfortunately two people's fried potatoes were cold and several of them were very badly burnt, while the other person's fries were cold. The arrangement of the plates was fine.

We didn't like the food. Few sauces to offer. They forgot to bring me food.

We've been there many times. Unfortunately, today we were a bit annoyed...We had a table where there was a lot of tension and we wanted to swap. All the tables were reserved and it didn't work... however, it was 2:30 p.m. and almost all the tables were reserved for after 6 p.m. I found that very inflexible. They preferred to let us freeze instead of re-setting the table... But as usual, the food was very tasty and the service staff were very friendly. That's why I still gave it full stars, but I would hope that the tables would be more customer-friendly. ...after all, it was clear that we would stay until 4 p.m. at the most and that the table would be free again afterwards...

For fans of longer and beautiful walks in the forest, the surrounding area is a dream and dogs are also welcome in the covered outdoor lighting. Drive or hike there. Thursday morning. Great weather, it wasn't very busy, we were two adults and two children. The waitress was super friendly and also gave us recommendations for the dishes. The photo shows the fish of the day (red mullet) with side dishes. Very well prepared 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great hiking area. We parked there for free. It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday and a lot of people took advantage of it to get out, so it got pretty crowded.

Were there today. The first rays of sunshine attracted many people into the fresh air. So it was pretty full. Nevertheless, we didn't have to wait long for our orders. The food was very good and the staff was nice and accommodating. If you go there for a walk, a hike or an MTB tour, you should stop by there. Highly Recommended

Marcin, Christof and their team are super warm hosts. We spent our wedding, our son's baptism and many lovely evenings with Mother Wehner. Since I come from the industry myself, I find it particularly remarkable how complaints are handled, as something can always go wrong. You just have to speak up 😉, instead of remaining silent and giving bad reviews. At the same time, the brothers and their families are great people who have a ❤️ for children. With this in mind, thank you for your support of the Titania soccer girls 💙🤍. It was a pleasure!

We went for the breakfast buffet and were absolutely disappointed. For €19.90 per person we had a completely different breakfast. It's a shame that I couldn't take a photo, e.g. the salad that served as decoration was unappetizing and belonged in the trash rather than on the plates. The entire selection was very, very manageable. We had a much better breakfast in Oer-Erkenschwick for less than €10. The fact that plates and glasses were always missing didn't make things any better. Sorry, we certainly won't see each other again for breakfast, very disappointing!!! But in the end, try it yourself and probably be disappointed.

We have been here several times in the last few years and it has always been very good. The restaurant is beautifully located next to the forest, in summer there is a relaxed beer garden, in winter you can sit with your dog in the beautiful winter garden. The food is very tasty and the service is extremely good.

We always enjoy visiting Mother Wehner. Even when it's packed, the bosses and staff are cheerful, in a good mood, competent and absolutely on point! Yes, the service is simply GREAT! The food is delicious and the price-performance ratio is optimal. Keep it up... and see you soon.

Super nice team, really trying to fulfill special requests

Pretty mixed... the owner allowed you to sit outside on the "gravel terrace", some of the staff then acknowledged this with sentences like "now they're sitting outside on their own initiative and setting up tables"... it's not to communicate this internally to the customer. At least after 2 lattes macchiatto and 2 aperols for a total of 24€ and a 2€ tip there wasn't even a "thank you". “No thanks” is what the customer says...

Leider wurden wir zum Frühstück am Eingang plaziert, habe noch nie so gefroren bei einem Frühstück. Rührei aus dem Tetrapack, Brötchen leider nur 2 Sorten, 4 Sorten Aufschnitt für 20€ p.P. Buffet wurde nicht gepflegt geschweige wurde drauf geachtet das genug Teller und Besteck vorhanden sind. An den Betreiber, setzen 6 ! Wie man für soviel sch…. so einen Preis verlangen kann bleibt mir ein Rätsel. Wenn das Essen aus dem „Restaurant“ die gleiche Qualität aufweist bitte den Laden meiden. Leidenschaft zum Kochen scheint wohl nicht jeder Restaurant Besitzer zu haben, schade.

Nach einem Spaziergang sind wir bei Mutter Wehner eingekehrt. Wir haben eine Std auf das Mittagessen gewartet. Meine Tochter hat sich einen Kinderteller mit Kartoffelbrei, Möhren und Fischstäbchen bestellt und mein Mann Pommes mit Currywurst. Habe mich sehr erschrocken, wie wenig auf dem Kinderteller war, 3 Stäbchen und ein großen Eßl Portion Kartoffelbrei und dieser Brei war kalt und teilweise gefroren (laut der Aussage m. Tochter). Die Currywurst von meinem Mann lag wie eine Bratwurst aufm Teller und nicht durchgeschnitten wie eine Currywurst, außerdem war diese Wurst auch kalt. Die Soße bestand aus Tomatenketchup und nur ein wenig Currypulver oben drauf verteilt, anstatt eine richtige Currysoße vorzubereiten. Das Restaurant war schon im TV (mein Lokal, dein Lokal), so prickelt war das Essen auch nicht, daher leider nur ein Stern.

Lecker gegessen. Service war gut. Nicht so lange gewartet. Speisekarte war für jeden was dabei. Werd wohl noch mal besuchen.

Wir haben leider keine gute Erfahrung gemacht. Die Tischreservierung wurde nicht so umgesetzt wie gewünscht, wir waren mit 23 Leuten dort, hatten 1 großen Tisch reserviert, wurden dann aber an 2 Tische gesetzt. Das Essen von einigen von uns war wirklich nicht gut, eines wurde auch beanstandet. Es wurde ein Rumpsteak gebracht, dass eine dicke Sehne im Fleisch hatte, das Fleisch an sich war sehr zäh und man konnte es kaum schneiden. Es wurde um Ersatz gebeten. Man brachte das gleiche Stück Fleisch zurück an den Tisch, die Sehne auf dem Teller abgeschnitten liegend mit der Bemerkung, dass im Rumpsteak immer eine Sehne im Fleisch sei. Es gab keine Steakmesser zu den Steaks, es wurden 2x Filetsteak bestellt, es kam aber nur eines, das andere war ein Rumpsteak. Berechnet wurden aber 2x Filetsteaks. Das Personal war aber durchweg sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Das Ambiente ist wirklich schön! Aber durch die schlechte Erfahrung mit dem Essen würde ich dort zumindest nicht mehr für eine große Gruppe reservieren. Wirklich sehr schade!

WeihnachtsBuffet gegessen : viel zu voll. Fleisch gut Salat ok - wenig Auswahl Gnocchis mit Pilzsauce = gut aber keine Kunst, kaum Sauce Beilagen : Kartoffelgratin suppig und wie aus dem Paket Rotkohl fein und gut frittierte Klöse= interessant Nachtisch = nur noch ein Glas Gekaufte Kuchen= Kein Kuchenheber oder Gebäckzange Keine (Vor-) Suppe Deko-Mandaeinen und Deko-Weintrauben gegessen Schwierig bis unmöglich mit Rollstuhl und Rollator SEHR FREUNDLICHES PERSONAL

Tolles Essen. Sehr guter Service. Leider beim Ambiente 2 Sterne Abzug. Es fehlt einfach eine Akustik-Lösung. Teilweise erreicht die allg. Lautstärke stressige Ausmaße. Vielleicht sollte man da mal einen Fachmann fragen.

Es war ein rund um schöner abend! Lecker Gänsebraten am Tisch Tranchiert ,Weihnachtlich dekoriert und sehr aufmerksames Personal! Wir kommen wieder , auf alle Fälle !

Wie auch beim letzten Besuch war das Essen wieder hervorragend, das Restaurant sehr sauber und gemütlich gestaltet. Wir werden definitv wieder kommen.

Super Schnitzel, vor allem das Wiener

Am Samstag Mittag waren noch die Gäste vom Frühstücksbuffet anwesend und im Nebenraum eine Familienfeier... durch die Pyramidenarchitektur war der Raum sehr laut und hatte den Charm einer Bahnhofshalle! Das Essen war geschmacklich OK aber nicht schön angerichtet ...wirkte schnell auf den Teller geklatscht... wir hatten uns mehr erwartet!

Sobald man das Restaurant betritt, dauert es nicht lange, dass man herzlich begrüßt wird. Auch wenn wir nicht reserviert haben, wird alles möglich gemacht, einen schönen Tisch zu bekommen. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl bei Euch. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und das Frühstücksbuffet sehr zu empfehlen. Auch wenn viel los ist und das ist meistens der Fall, ist keiner gestresst, sondern es herrscht immer noch eine harmonische Atmosphäre. Vielen Dank. Wir kommen immer gerne wieder.

Schönes Restaurant im Wald... Ich war schon 2 mal dagewesen in diesem schönen Mutter Wehner Restaurant im Wald... Einmal würde ich eingeladen und heute war ich mit meinen Eltern dagewesen, die waren begeistert vom Mutter Wehner Restaurant gewesen... Keller/in sehr freundlich und nett... Essen war auch lecker gewesen aber ich wünschte mir mehr Gerichte zum Auswahl... Man kann auch nach dem Essen oder vordem Essen schönes Spaziergang machen ... Man kann auch Pferde und Alpakos besuchen und mit den Spaziergang machen... Aber natürlich kostet etwas... Macht weiter so...✌🏻🤓😉...
