Real German cuisine, delicious and highly recommended...

Well, nothing special. It's more like a pub snack bar. The air is stuffy. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and had to be called to attention several times. The food itself wasn't that good. The currywurst was not good at all. The sausage was limp and seemed like it had been warmed up. The “curry sauce” was a tomato sauce with curry powder. At least drinks were good. Not recommended.

Quaint Berlin inn. Nice staff. Food great. We were there on a Friday, so it's better to reserve in advance. Weekend with live music 😁. Also kitchen until 10 p.m. or later.

We visited the restaurant with a group of friends after the Christmas market and spontaneously got a table. On the way to the table, a friend was approached by a table of four men because he looked gay. Several offensive situations occurred over the course of the evening. Our waitress was friendly and communicated this to her boss, unfortunately without any reaction, so the insults continued. As a result, we experienced the restaurant as a very unpleasant and unsafe place. Therefore, we cannot recommend anyone to visit this restaurant, as no help can be expected if attacks or unpleasant situations occur towards women, foreigners or queer people.

Our last day in Berlin and what a success! They served us quickly and were very friendly. The knuckle a spectacle. We recommend.

We are big fans in the family! For several years now we have been coming to Mutter Hoppe every Christmas time to eat roast goose. And this one is a poem. Super crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The dumplings are super tasty and kale 🥬 + good quality red cabbage. This is a great way to spend a pre-Christmas day with the best service.

We wanted to have German food and beer, so came here based on recommendations. There was a queue to get seated, so we hoped that this was a good sign. However, the queue was poorly organised but we eventually got seated. Menu then took ages to arrive, as did our order. Food was good - I had pork knuckle and my son had venison. Portions were large and well cooked. Same delays came with dessert menu and by now the restaurant was much less busy. Finally, we had beers added to our bill that we didn’t have, which took a while to get refunded.

True German food, I recommend it. Inside is amazing

We went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. Very good food. German cuisine, where our vegetarians also found tasty dishes. A very good value for money. Dogs allowed. We had reservations, which I think was a good thing. It was really crowded. The guest rooms are divided into small rooms. As an evening encore, which was a coincidence for us, there was live music from the piano. Really great!

I've eaten here a few times. There is traditional German cuisine. Whether liver cheese, cabbage roulade or goose breast. It always tastes hearty and delicious. Prices are reasonable for the location. The staff is always friendly and quick. The ambience ensures a pleasant trip to old Berlin. I have a clear recommendation. Tip: reserve in advance or arrive early when it opens. The restaurant is always very busy.

Neither the starters nor the soups impress me in terms of taste. It's quite ok. but nothing more. I haven't ordered the main courses yet because they're all incredibly big and there's just too much on the plate for my liking.

Great, tasty local cuisine, decent size dishes. Fantastic service. Reasonable prices. On top of that, this place looks fantastic. Really cozy tables located on the basement level. So don't get pushed away on a cold, autumn evening - quite the opposite: jump in and have a warm cup of Glühwein and some goulash!

A very nice restaurant with German cuisine. The food is really great. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service staff was always friendly and attentive. In the evenings there is live music in the basement from a piano player who creates a great atmosphere.

We arrived in Berlin and found the restaurant online. We were keen to experience some lovely German food and it did not disappoint. So much so, that we went back three times. The food was fantastic and the service was lovely and welcoming, despite the restaurant being very busy at peak times and the staff helping lots of diners. Really enjoyed the food, the seasonal specials were lovely (pumpkin and ginger), the wild plate (venison and boar), meatballs and beer. Sasha and Sandra at our table were lovely-please thank them from us. If we have the chance to come back to Berlin, we will certainly be back! 😀 Es war herrlich!

Service friendly, atmosphere quaint and the food very tasty, good home-style. We really enjoyed our stay as a small group. One point deducted because of the noise, which may have been particularly loud in our corner as a large group was celebrating something. We can highly recommend the restaurant.

Spontaneous visit last Friday, it was worth the wait. Super nice service, great food, game plates, rarely eaten so well, no ready-made products, the live music fits perfectly into the restaurant, we sang along and danced, very nice boss with whom we got into conversation. Dear team, thank you very much for the lovely evening. We'd love to come back. This restaurant is a must for every visitor to Berlin.

They have a kids menu. Unfortunately there was no soap in the bathroom. Food served quickly. Tasty and filling. Average prices. We paid over 80 euros for dinner for 4 people. Very good schnitzel.

The restaurant was recommended to us as a 'typical Berlin' restaurant. We weren't disappointed. Restaurant is in the basement, there was no service outside when we visited. The guest room was nicely decorated and we found the ambience to be appropriate and beautiful. The service in the restaurant was top - attentive, very friendly and Berlin eloquent. The menu offers typical Berlin dishes (eisbein, currywurst, bulette). We had knuckle (not pork knuckle), giant bullette, cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was great, the knuckle and meatballs were good. The portions were too big for us (man 110kg, 13y boy 50kg).

Great restaurant. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. I ordered pea soup as a starter and veal liver as a main course. Both dishes were delicious. The service was friendly, quick and had a sense of humor. Reasonably priced and therefore a successful evening. Thank you for the experience.

Nice home-style restaurant with very good food and friendly service.

They misunderstood our order and at the end then made us pay a service charge (3.30€ per person) which was never mentioned, neither on the menu. The food was good though.

We were there as a group of 11 people. Drinks and food were brought to the table quickly and, most importantly, at the same time, so we could eat at the same time and it was all delicious. Price-performance ratio really fits here. Big thanks also to Sascha from service, he did a great job and gave us good advice. Keep it up!

A special, rustic restaurant. We were very impressed by the ambience. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food fresh and delicious.

The ambience is pretty special, if you like it... everything in stuffy basement rooms... the sanitary rooms are full of puddles and disgusting. 0.5 liters of beer 6.50 euros. The food (around 20 euros) is not worth the money and is reminiscent of cheap canteen food. Sorry guys. For me that doesn't work at all.

I love this retro style!! The waitresses and waiters are super nice, very quick and also available for a quick snack! The food is very tasty and plentiful! The prices really adjusted! 👍 We'll keep checking back! 😍

A place to unwind after work or to get together with the family. There is good home-style German cuisine. No fuss at fair prices. Live music every now and then on Fridays and Saturdays and our own beautiful herbs as a "distributor" if you have eaten too much from the menu. Great place, our go-to place for years, especially at Christmas time after visiting the surrounding markets

Terrible service from start to end. Hard to get a seat, order, and pay. Staff were not busy as they spent most time talking to each other; they just didn't care. Food was below average for what I ordered (bratwurst with potato). Beer was also disappointing. Space was cool.

We wanted to try some authentic German food, and while it was good, it wasn’t the best we’ve had. The service was quick and efficient, and the atmosphere was nice, though there were unfortunately quite a few insects around.

A very nice old Berlin restaurant with an outdoor area. Manageable menu (not overloaded, which is very good) with good home-style dishes. Highly recommended! Nice and attentive staff. We had the veal schnitzel with fried potatoes, cucumber salad and red cabbage goulash with dumplings, super tasty. Reasonably priced, definitely not overpriced. Good Berlin cuisine And right next to the Red Town Hall Unfortunately it was too cool for the large beer garden So down the exciting spiral staircase and ended up in the beautifully decorated inn. The food came quickly and was delicious!

The pork trotters are crispy on the skin and soft on the inside. Highly recommended! It’s a pity that I’m not used to eating sausages. It’s not unpleasant, but I think I can skip it 😂 The overall waiters are gentle, polite and kind, but it's a pity We were seated around 6 o'clock on Friday night. We met a group of people and waited for 60-90 minutes for the food to be served. I almost fell asleep😅 You need to reserve time during the meal to avoid waiting for a long time. My friend said that I have never had to wait for a long time in the past few times. Maybe luck

Having just arrived in Berlin, I was looking for a restaurant with Berlin cuisine and came across Mutter Hoppe... as one person, getting a table on a Friday evening is sometimes not easy, but everyone here immediately tried to find a nice place for me to find. The food was extremely tasty and of the best quality, the service was friendly and professional, the whole atmosphere was harmonious, for me a top address in Berlin!

Restaurant with typical cuisine in the heart of Berlin. Characteristic setting and very pleasant atmosphere. The service was also excellent. The food is good, unfortunately I think that for one of the two dishes we took, we opted for the wrong dish (for our tastes). We had the Berlin style pork shank. The "roasted" version is very good, with a fantastic side of potatoes. The "boiled" version did not excite us, both for the flavor of the meat (simple) and for the side dish which was not exceptional. And a place we recommend for a typical Berlin dinner :)

Excellent cuisine! We ate very well, the prices were fair. On the other hand, 1 hour 40 minutes for two dishes and a dessert between 2 and 4 p.m. when there aren't too many people is too long.

What it looks like... In an old Berlin atmosphere we were able to enjoy Berlin delicacies in a cozy and familiar atmosphere. The staff was super friendly, every wish was fulfilled. Kudos to the chef, we had Kasseler roast and pork knuckle. Man, that was delicious. And we also learned something new... Where does the term "hock of pork" come from? The service was just incredibly good so I just have to give it a go. On Saturday evening with live music and despite it being busy, we were served very well. That's why you only pay 7/10 for the food at the location 😊 but I would go there again 😘

We had the braiseknuckle pork and the mushroom spinach. The pork was good and tender but the skin could be crispier mushroom spinach was okay the salad was really great. Service was good the staff was very friendly

ㄍㄋㄋTaiwanese people come to me to read my comments The waiters at this store are super dishonest! I ordered a small drink and he gave me a larger one. Then the pork chop, I said I wanted pork and he gave me veal, and when I ordered, he repeated me three times that I wanted pork! In the end, you will find out that the checkout amount is too expensive! Later, I told the waiter that I ordered pork, and he said he was sorry and it was his mistake. But when I paid, he only had the price for the meat and he deducted it for me. I ordered the wrong drink but still charged him ~ I was super upset. The important thing is that I spoke German the whole time! The waiter gave me the wrong orders for all the meals (all at high prices) The restaurant is very dishonest, don't recommend it! ! ! btw. The fried pork chop is quite oily, and the potatoes underneath are also greasy.

The food was very tasty, just like you know German cuisine. The staff was very nice and the waiting time was short.

Nice place and friendly staff. The food very good. We stayed there twice during our stay because we really enjoyed it. Only note: you often have to wait a little to sit down as the place is always full but it's worth the wait.
