Great local food. Really worth going for the regional food

A very solid restaurant where you can't go wrong. The food and drinks arrived quickly thanks to the friendly wait staff. One salad didn't arrive at all, but that can happen. Otherwise, the service was very good and the food delicious.

Walked 2 km to this establishment to get ALL BEEF FRANKFURTERS but when we got here it HAD PORK CASING ON THE ALL BEEF … then we thought smoked beef … normally it’s beef but NOT… disappointed. So we left

That still exists. Actually Frankfurt cuisine in downtown Frankfurt. The cuisine is excellent and, in addition to hearty dishes, also offers a number of vegetarian dishes. At the end there is also a delicious dessert. There are a total of seven different beers. Two of them without alcohol. Of course, the apple cider should not be missing. And this comes directly from the Wetterau. The staff is really very quick. We didn't have to wait long and even though it was really full, we quickly got a seat. In addition to the normal seating in the guest room, there is also a very inviting counter area. There are also numerous seating options at bar tables here. I am particularly pleased that the usual menu is regularly supplemented by a daily menu. The meatballs are also legendary. Unfortunately, these are only available on Friday, but we're looking forward to the weekend even more! Conclusion: We'd love to come back!

Oh…I really don’t recommend if you’re asian to be honest, it’s really authentic German food so you might not be used to it if ur a foreigner, we tried sausages with potato salad and the Schnitzel with green sauce and potato salad, looking from the other reviews, potato salad is a bit overhyped lol. It just has a strong taste of vinegar or something like that, but it shuts potato salad, the more you eat it, the flavor gets weird too, idk how u say it in english but in thai it’s “เลี่ยน“. Other than the food, the atmosphere was extremely lively and loud, so not recommended if u actually wanna talk or have actual chill, private conversations lmao. The waitress lazy was very nice tho! She was very sweet to us. But it’s also really hard to call people over because no one is ever looking and all the staff are just somewhere to be seen, even the bartenders won’t see u because they r too busy talking to each other. Also bread is served with MUSTARD PASTE😭 kind of funny but I understand ahhahaha

We were there that evening with a larger group. Our orders were taken quickly and one after the other and brought at the same time, even though almost all the tables were occupied. The schnitzel with green sauce and the potato salad were delicious. Highly recommended, traditional Frankfurt cuisine.

Finally, some Hessian cuisine without too many tourists. Fair prices, delicious food—we'll be back.

There are some fans of the schnitzel with fried potatoes. It's huge, breaded, and super delicious. I've been there twice myself, but I preferred the brawn. Absolutely delicious!

We had a company event with about 50 people this weekend. It was a complete success. We were able to celebrate in the pub in the basement. Many thanks to Stephan and his team. The food and service were excellent.

Great authentic place. The potato salad is perfect, schnitzel was great - I have never tried it and this one is something. And of course the beer - delicious with the real german taste. I recommend it if you’re visiting Frankfurt and want to get acquainted with german food.

First time trying the green sauce and i loved it! I loved their schnitzel!! So good! Sausages were ok but the schnitzel and the green sauce combinations were amazing! Also, they got confused with the order in the beginning but they fixed it right away with the quick action. Really nice service as well. Would def revisit and bring my friends visiting ffm!

Dinner with a colleague. The food was spectacular: two small pieces of pork knuckle and wiener schnitzel with four beers for 68 euros, a pretty good value. The atmosphere was a bit too quiet, perhaps because it was a Monday.

Yesterday (Saturday around 5pm) 8 people visited for an early dinner. All but 3 tables were empty. The female waitress talked to us as if she had only one seat left, and I thought maybe I was being too sensitive and just let it go, but she was rude from start to finish. Only a few people in the group ordered Vorspeise, and the rest only ordered mains. First, only one person's Vorspeise and main sausage came out, and the rest didn't come out at all, so we kept waiting and asked when we could get them. She rudely told us that we had to tell her that we had finished the Vorspeise in order to get the main. Not everyone ordered an appetizer, and she didn't come to ask if we had finished eating and if it was okay to clean up or if it was okay for the main menu to come out. Even the main dish came out quickly, but I don't know why it was served so quickly The rest of the main dishes came out around 5:50, and when I tried to order more beers, it felt like they were deliberately avoiding eye contact, and when I was paying, they made a mistake and put down the card machine, making it sound like they were really upset. The food was seasoned just right and was all very tasty. The price was reasonable, but the female employee was extremely rude and unfriendly.

The sausage was really tasty, but it was a bit disappointing that the main dish only came with one sausage and a potato dish.

We have had dinner here twice. The dishes are very good and plentiful, honest prices. Fast service and very helpful staff, internal environment with many tables and the possibility of seating outside. We loved it, I recommend it.

The service was friendly, attentive and warm, you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, exactly what you want from a classic restaurant. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right here.

We were on a short vacation in Frankfurt and found this restaurant by chance. We stopped there based on the menu we looked up online. Typical Frankfurt food with apple wine. The food was super tasty and we would go there again at any time.

Loved the food and service. I'd recommend the wild pork sausage. The sides we had - mashed potatoes, red cabbage, potato salad were great. So was the German bread. I have to admit, though, that I'm not a fan of the green sauce.

We were there twice when we were in Frankfurt. Nice service, great food, large portions at fair prices.

The food was good and plentiful. One of the two schnitzels was too thick for my taste and a bit stringy. The second one was great, which is why I expect a downward outlier for number 1. The service was very good and friendly. Unfortunately it was so loud that it was not possible to have a pleasant conversation.

There is enough space and the location is easy to reach. When it came to the food, I had the impression that everything was cooked in a deep fryer.

Terrible service! On Tuesday there were many free tables, but a grumpy restaurant employee decided at her own discretion to seat us (2 people) in a dark corner. I tried to sit at one of the better tables but she told us not to. A strange approach and no customer focus whatsoever. This lady's tone also leaves a lot to be desired - no friendliness at all. The restaurant owners should give this some serious thought. Not recommended.

Compared to the old restaurant, I think it's like a train station, too big and loud. The flair is simply missing. The food is still good and plentiful. That's the only reason I'll recommend it and come back.

My hotel staff recommended this place when I asked for a good German food and it was the place I had in mind. Looked crowded but I was lucky to get a table. I had s vegetable soup and winter sausage with red Cabbage and mashed potatoes. Was so comforting and very filling.

Arrived after 1pm and we were taken to our table quickly. Ordered 4 main courses for sharing (pork knuckle, pork chop, chicken schnitzel and bratwurst). The pork knuckle and pork chop are both tender and taste delicious. Chicken schnitzel is slightly on the hard side. Bratwurst is ok but only 1 sausage with the plate full of potato salad. Would be better if the dish at least comes with 2 sausages instead of 1. The potato salad is surprisingly good. The pepper taste brings the salad to another level. Would consider coming back again.

It was near my hotel, so I came across it by chance and it was a big hit ✨️ We shared the schnitzel and frankfurter sausage between the three of us, and they were all hearty and delicious. It was full from around 8pm, so you might want to go a little early. However, it was obvious from the outside that the store was understaffed, and the store staff seemed extremely busy.

In many other home-style restaurants, pork chops are missing from the menu. Here it is the absolute highlight, served together with potato salad – a true culinary masterpiece. It was perfectly fried, juicy and tender, with a crispy breading, while the potato salad went perfectly with it with a subtle vinaigrette and a hint of herbs. Together it created a harmonious and extremely tasty dish. The quality of the ingredients and the preparation are at a very high level here. An all-round successful culinary experience... to eat your fill, like your mother used to eat!

Very nice cozy restaurant. The food was again a dream (schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and fried potatoes/schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes) - and the dessert - wonderful - pudding with cherries/currant and mango sorbet. Of course it is noisy when it gets full, but we knew that beforehand, had the right time, and then left. The service is also very good, friendly, communicative. All in all - a great thing - we will definitely enjoy coming here again and again.

Unfortunately, Mother is no longer as serious as she used to be. I had the grilled cutlet with puree and sauerkraut. It used to be a must. The meat was dry, which balanced out the puree. You needed a spoon for that. Ambience was okay, but the coziness of before is missing. There was nothing wrong with the service.

I had a very nice evening in the Mutter Ernst restaurant in Frankfurt. My meal - starter: hand cheese with music, main course: grilled Frankfurt ribs with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes - was very tasty. The drinks - sparkling apple cider and one or two medlars - also tasted very good. The prices are up to date, but you won't get a snap. I was particularly impressed by the service: very friendly, attentive and at the same time unobtrusive, even though the restaurant was full to capacity. I would also like to mention the volume/acoustics in the restaurant, it is possible to have a conversation with those directly at your table, otherwise it is rather difficult to have a conversation across the table. Mother Ernst makes you feel really welcome and well looked after. An all-round successful visit – I’m already looking forward to the next time.

Since 1938, the cult pub on Alte Rothofstrasse near Goethestrasse has been a meeting place for numerous bankers. Now the mother is serious directly behind the stock exchange, on Rahmhofstrasse. Menu has remained. Very tasty ribs with cabbage and mashed potatoes as well as breaded cutlet.

This traditional Frankfurt restaurant, dating back to 1938 and recently relocated, seems to be always busy, so reservations are a must to avoid disappointment. Basically, great beer, great food and a great atmosphere. Recommend the fried pork chop, absolutely superb. Happy to go again.

My visit to Mother Ernst in Frankfurt was an absolute disaster. The food took forever, and when it finally came, it was served so uncoordinated that some of us were already finished before the others even got their food. I have rarely experienced such a serious timing problem! Unfortunately, poor organization wasn't the only problem. The waitress was rude and snippy and seemed to have no professional experience dealing with guests. The absolute highlight: Without saying a word, a tip was simply added to the bill - completely unacceptable and outrageous. The price is completely exorbitant for what ended up on the plates. Two slices of meat loaf with potato salad for 26 euros? This is an outrage and in no way justified. Conclusion: If you value good food, friendly service and a fair price-performance ratio, you should definitely avoid this shop.

Rudeness is one thing, but I don't understand being yelled at really loudly several times. We were insulted that we couldn't read the menu properly and the lady generally became abusive several times. The food was okay, but not particularly good. Home cooking is also better and warm. The atmosphere is simple and the location is good, which is a plus. We still don't come anymore, even though we live in the neighborhood.

Very loud Food in but not special

A nice pub, had schnitzel with fried potatoes and green sauce, you could only eat the schnitzel because half of the fried potatoes were burnt, since my husband had brawn with fried potatoes, his were also burnt. It was acknowledged but not a word of apology, in this day and age Where everything is more expensive there should be a sorry, but nothing.

It's great that Mother Ernst is back! A little different than before, a little more modern, a little less... sticky... but still with charm. Large selection of food (if you like meat, the vegetarian selection is limited), a wide range of drinks, attentive service.
