Food was unreal! Potato salad was awesome although the portion was a bit on the small side. I didn’t think tipping was customary in Germany but we were asked to add one. But all in all, great place!

Friendly service is a hallmark of this restaurant. The quality of the food (schnitzel) is satisfactory. The price is typical for Frankfurt's city center. In short, a solid offering, but nothing more.

It still exists. True Frankfurt cuisine in downtown Frankfurt. The food is excellent and, in addition to hearty dishes, also offers several vegetarian options. And to finish off, there's also a delicious dessert. There are a total of seven different beers, two of which are non-alcoholic. Of course, apple wine is a must. And it comes directly from the Wetterau region. The staff is really very responsive. We didn't have to wait long and, even though it was really busy, we were seated quickly. In addition to the regular seating in the dining room, there is also a very inviting counter area. Here, too, there are numerous seating options at standing tables. I'm particularly pleased that the regular menu is regularly supplemented by a daily special. The meatballs are also legendary. Unfortunately, they're only available on Fridays, but that makes us look forward to the weekend even more! Conclusion: We'd love to come back!

The apple wine, unfortunately, was rather unimpressive. Our favorite was the Handkäs mit Musik (traditional cheese with music), which was perfectly ripe. The schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes was also, unfortunately, of only average quality, as the meat was very stringy and dry.

The food was the usual Frankfurt pub fare, but it was surprisingly good. It was quite nice to sit down for a beer. The waiters and waitresses were brusque in their manners—you'd almost expect that in places like this, but they're usually quick and efficient—here they were a bit overwhelmed.

That's precisely what makes it so charming. The menu matches the spirit – hearty, traditional, and authentic. I particularly recommend the breaded cutlet with potato salad: a generous portion and very tasty! Pair it with a glass of apple wine – that's what Frankfurt tastes like. 🥩🥔🍏 Reservations are recommended, as the place is quite busy. If you enjoy apple wine culture, you should definitely stop by.

A rustic pub with local food. It's a challenge for vegetarians. The restaurant is busy, making it quite noisy. Nevertheless, the food is good and regional. Handkäse (cheese) is a must, of course, and the traditional Bembel (a traditional German beer). For us, it was far too cramped and very loud.

Visited for dinner in May 2025. We arrived around 8 PM, but it was full, so we had to wait about 10 minutes! The restaurant was bustling, with locals and even some Japanese customers! Bread and mustard were served as appetizers! The mustard was delicious, and I spread it generously on the bread and ate it, but I never got tired of it! We ordered pork chops and beer, but it took a while for our food to arrive (it seemed like they weren't enough staff). The atmosphere, food, and service were all great!

I randomly picked this restaurant for lunch after noticing the nice-looking food on the plates of people sitting outside. The weather was cloudy and a bit chilly that day, so I decided to grab a table inside. It was Saturday around 2 p.m., but the indoor restaurant area was half empty, so I picked a table I liked right next to the window. The waiter brought me a menu right away, but it was only in German. I asked for an English version, but she told me they didn’t have one, which was surprising. Her English was very bad, by the way. I asked her opinion about the most popular and delicious German food on the menu (which, by the way, was pretty big with many options),but she couldn’t understand what I meant and called another waitress to assist. The second lady spoke some English, but she also struggled to explain what I should order. In the end, I took her advice and ordered Green Sauce with Potatoes (Grüne Soße mit Kartoffeln), which she said was a classic Frankfurt specialty, along with a Wild Garlic Bratwurst (Bärlauchbratwurst). The food came out pretty quickly – about 10 minutes. Aesthetically, the plate looked nice and interesting. But not all of the tastes impressed me, unfortunately. The boiled potatoes were soft and pleasant to eat, and I appreciated the hard-boiled egg on the plate, which I always love. But the green sauce didn’t work for me – almost flavorless, with a grassy taste I didn’t like at all. I also hated that the sauce was served very cold. The garlic bratwurst had a decent taste, but it was slightly dry; I wished it had been softer and maybe juicier. For my drink I ordered an apple juice (Apfelsaft), which I really enjoyed. I don’t think I’ve ever had bad apple juice in Germany! :-) Price-wise, the restaurant is on the expensive side. The green sauce with potatoes cost me €14.50, which is way overpriced. The garlic bratwurst was €8.00, which was okay but still a bit more than it should be considering its medium size. And the biggest rip-off was €5.20 for one glass of apple juice! Come on! In total my bill was €27.70, and I found that too high for the overall quality and amount of food I got. From what I remember, most prices on the menu were quite high, so this restaurant is definitely not a cheap option for local German food. This business accepts all major credit cards and Apple Pay (many German restaurants in Frankfurt’s city center do not, asking for cash only, which is shocking). As for the restaurant in general, I liked its classic German vibe and the cozy atmosphere inside. The place looked nice and very clean. I also want to mention that the second waitress came to check on me several times; she was sweet, and I really appreciated that. Would I come back again? Yes, I’d give it another chance, mostly because of the nice vibe of the restaurant. Would I order the same dishes again? No, 100% not; I’d definitely try something else. Can I recommend this restaurant? I’d put it this way – go and check it out, but be careful what you order.

I'd describe the restaurant as an upscale cider pub. But the seating is nice, relatively quiet, and, at least so far, I've found plenty of space. Prices are moderate. I'd happily go back.

Just around the corner from the noisy tourist streets, but it's quite quiet and there are free tables. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious. I recommend the schnitzel with mushroom sauce - the best version of schnitzel I've tried so far.

The restaurant closes at 11 p.m. I arrived at 9:40 p.m. and was told the kitchen was already closed. The second time I was able to eat, everything was very good and the service was excellent, but the lack of clarity regarding the kitchen's opening hours leaves something to be desired.

Incredibly good, freshly prepared food. Authentic ambiance. Very popular with bankers, especially at lunchtime. The value for money is also very good, as you get bread and mustard with every main course, and the portion sizes are also very generous.

Oh…I really don’t recommend if you’re asian to be honest, it’s really authentic German food so you might not be used to it if ur a foreigner, we tried sausages with potato salad and the Schnitzel with green sauce and potato salad, looking from the other reviews, potato salad is a bit overhyped lol. It just has a strong taste of vinegar or something like that, but it shuts potato salad, the more you eat it, the flavor gets weird too, idk how u say it in english but in thai it’s “เลี่ยน“. Other than the food, the atmosphere was extremely lively and loud, so not recommended if u actually wanna talk or have actual chill, private conversations lmao. The waitress lazy was very nice tho! She was very sweet to us. But it’s also really hard to call people over because no one is ever looking and all the staff are just somewhere to be seen, even the bartenders won’t see u because they r too busy talking to each other. Also bread is served with MUSTARD PASTE😭 kind of funny but I understand ahhahaha

We were there that evening with a larger group. Our orders were taken quickly and one after the other and brought at the same time, even though almost all the tables were occupied. The schnitzel with green sauce and the potato salad were delicious. Highly recommended, traditional Frankfurt cuisine.

There are some fans of the schnitzel with fried potatoes. It's huge, breaded, and super delicious. I've been there twice myself, but I preferred the brawn. Absolutely delicious!

We had a company event with about 50 people this weekend. It was a complete success. We were able to celebrate in the pub in the basement. Many thanks to Stephan and his team. The food and service were excellent.

Great authentic place. The potato salad is perfect, schnitzel was great - I have never tried it and this one is something. And of course the beer - delicious with the real german taste. I recommend it if you’re visiting Frankfurt and want to get acquainted with german food.

First time trying the green sauce and i loved it! I loved their schnitzel!! So good! Sausages were ok but the schnitzel and the green sauce combinations were amazing! Also, they got confused with the order in the beginning but they fixed it right away with the quick action. Really nice service as well. Would def revisit and bring my friends visiting ffm!

Dinner with a colleague. The food was spectacular: two small pieces of pork knuckle and wiener schnitzel with four beers for 68 euros, a pretty good value. The atmosphere was a bit too quiet, perhaps because it was a Monday.

Yesterday (Saturday around 5pm) 8 people visited for an early dinner. All but 3 tables were empty. The female waitress talked to us as if she had only one seat left, and I thought maybe I was being too sensitive and just let it go, but she was rude from start to finish. Only a few people in the group ordered Vorspeise, and the rest only ordered mains. First, only one person's Vorspeise and main sausage came out, and the rest didn't come out at all, so we kept waiting and asked when we could get them. She rudely told us that we had to tell her that we had finished the Vorspeise in order to get the main. Not everyone ordered an appetizer, and she didn't come to ask if we had finished eating and if it was okay to clean up or if it was okay for the main menu to come out. Even the main dish came out quickly, but I don't know why it was served so quickly The rest of the main dishes came out around 5:50, and when I tried to order more beers, it felt like they were deliberately avoiding eye contact, and when I was paying, they made a mistake and put down the card machine, making it sound like they were really upset. The food was seasoned just right and was all very tasty. The price was reasonable, but the female employee was extremely rude and unfriendly.

Loved the food and service. I'd recommend the wild pork sausage. The sides we had - mashed potatoes, red cabbage, potato salad were great. So was the German bread. I have to admit, though, that I'm not a fan of the green sauce.

The food was good and plentiful. One of the two schnitzels was too thick for my taste and a bit stringy. The second one was great, which is why I expect a downward outlier for number 1. The service was very good and friendly. Unfortunately it was so loud that it was not possible to have a pleasant conversation.

There is enough space and the location is easy to reach. When it came to the food, I had the impression that everything was cooked in a deep fryer.

Terrible service! On Tuesday there were many free tables, but a grumpy restaurant employee decided at her own discretion to seat us (2 people) in a dark corner. I tried to sit at one of the better tables but she told us not to. A strange approach and no customer focus whatsoever. This lady's tone also leaves a lot to be desired - no friendliness at all. The restaurant owners should give this some serious thought. Not recommended.

Compared to the old restaurant, I think it's like a train station, too big and loud. The flair is simply missing. The food is still good and plentiful. That's the only reason I'll recommend it and come back.

My hotel staff recommended this place when I asked for a good German food and it was the place I had in mind. Looked crowded but I was lucky to get a table. I had s vegetable soup and winter sausage with red Cabbage and mashed potatoes. Was so comforting and very filling.

Arrived after 1pm and we were taken to our table quickly. Ordered 4 main courses for sharing (pork knuckle, pork chop, chicken schnitzel and bratwurst). The pork knuckle and pork chop are both tender and taste delicious. Chicken schnitzel is slightly on the hard side. Bratwurst is ok but only 1 sausage with the plate full of potato salad. Would be better if the dish at least comes with 2 sausages instead of 1. The potato salad is surprisingly good. The pepper taste brings the salad to another level. Would consider coming back again.

It was near my hotel, so I came across it by chance and it was a big hit ✨️ We shared the schnitzel and frankfurter sausage between the three of us, and they were all hearty and delicious. It was full from around 8pm, so you might want to go a little early. However, it was obvious from the outside that the store was understaffed, and the store staff seemed extremely busy.
