Murdock's Irish Pub in Augsburg

War früher deutlich besser. Personal an der Biergartentheke total unfreundlich.

Wir wurden am frühen Abend zunächst an einen unangenehmen Platz verwiesen und dann erst mal eine ganze Weile "übersehen". Da das Preis-/Leistungsvethältnis für uns dann nach Sichtung der Speisekarte nicht gepasst hat, sind wir ohne Bestellung wieder gegangen. War früher anders.

Das Guinness könnte besser sein. Es war etwas warm und schmeckte ein wenig unsauber. Vielleicht sollte man wenigstens lernen, es richtig einzuschenken? Möglicherweise stimmt die Kohlensäure nicht, denn der Barkeeper hat nur teilweise eingeschenkt und gewartet, aber die Schaumkrone ist immer noch viel zu hoch. Scheint in Kontinentaleuropa recht üblich zu sein, zumindest meiner Erfahrung nach. Der Pub ist an sich ganz nett. Drinnen war es heute Abend (Dienstag) wegen des Quizabends brechend voll, also saß ich draußen auf der tollen Terrasse. Dort gibt es viele Tische, eine eigene Bar, Fernseher (vielleicht nur für die WM), Lichterketten und ein richtiges Gartenflair. Wenn das Guinness besser wäre, könnte das ein richtig guter 5/5-„irischer“ Pub sein.

Toller Biergarten mit Fußball TV

Ich war schon dreimal hier und jedes Mal schmeckte das Essen wie überteuerte Tiefkühlgerichte. Am schlimmsten war es, als ich „Nachos“ bestellte und für 12 Euro eine Schüssel Tortilla-Chips mit drei winzigen Supermarkt-Dips bekam. Außerdem verlangten sie 2 Euro für ein Glas Leitungswasser. Eine absolute Abzocke! Davon abgesehen sind Bier und Personal in Ordnung.

Ich bin absolut enttäuscht von meinem Besuch in diesem Irish Pub. Mitten in Deutschland wurde ich vom Barkeeper extrem arrogant und respektlos behandelt, nur weil ich kein Englisch spreche. Von einem Irish Pub erwarte ich Offenheit und Internationalität, aber hier gibt es keinerlei Toleranz gegenüber den Kunden. Es kann nicht sein, dass man im eigenen Land herablassend behandelt wird, wenn man die Landessprache spricht. Gastfreundschaft sieht definitiv anders aus. Ich werde diesen Laden nicht noch einmal betreten.

Essen und Ambiente super, aber die Bedienung hinter der Bar, die nur Englisch spricht, ist maximal unfreundlich. Vielleicht sollte man sich nicht mit seinem Kollegen über Kunden vor uns lustig machen, die kein perfektes Englisch sprechen. Definitiv im falschen Job, wenn man offensichtlich asozial ist.

Sehr nettes Personal. Kamen spontan vorbei und haben noch 2 Plätze an der Theke bekommen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Nettes Gespräch mit dem Mann hinter der Bar. Fish and Chips waren perfekt, der Burger war auch sehr gut Werden jetzt wohl öfter mal kommen. Tolle Atmosphäre. Gruß Thorsten

Sehr gemütlicher Biergarten mit einigen schmackhaften Biersorten.

Das besondere Ambiente eines Irish Pub so wie der Murdock“s Irish Pub in Augsburg ist,da fühlt mann sich in eine „Wohnzimmer-Atmosphäre – uriges Mobiliar aus dunklem Holz, knarrender Dielenboden und gemütlicher Dekoration. Und mit eine sehr nette freundliche Bedienung die allein 30gäste serviert an einem sehr heißen Sonntag . Was will mann mehr :)

Die Fish and Chips waren sehr gut, nur der Preis war sehr hoch daher nur 4 Sterne beim Essen. Der Besitzer und die Bedienungen sind nett und die Einrichtung wirklich toll

Tolles Cider und super Atmosphäre.

Früher war ich sehr gerne im Murdocks, weil das Essen immer richtig gut war. Leider hat die Qualität in letzter Zeit deutlich nachgelassen. Die Gerichte wirken liebloser zubereitet und geschmacklich ist es einfach nicht mehr das, was es einmal war. Das ist wirklich schade, weil ich das Pub früher immer gerne weiterempfohlen habe. Was man aber sagen muss: Das Lokal selbst ist nach wie vor sehr gemütlich und schön eingerichtet. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Umso bedauerlicher ist es, dass das Essen nicht mehr mit dem Ambiente mithalten kann. Ich hoffe sehr, dass sich die Qualität der Küche wieder verbessert

Ein wirklich toller Irish-Pub mit sehr freundlichem Service. Die Musiker waren klasse! Gerne wieder.

Der Barkeeper Kos war einfach fantastisch! Er hatte alles, was man sich von einem guten irischen Pub-Barkeeper wünscht: Charme, Freundlichkeit, super aufmerksam und dazu noch sehr witzig. Das Essen war lecker und die Atmosphäre trotz der ruhigen Atmosphäre einfach großartig. Der Sportbereich in der Mitte der Bar ist hervorragend und bietet alle Sportarten, die man sich wünschen kann. Ich freue mich schon auf die nächsten englischen Quizabende. Es war immer super und hat viel Spaß gemacht. Auch der Besitzer Kevin war draußen, hat sich angeregt unterhalten und sich prächtig amüsiert. Schön, das zu sehen!

Food and drinks are pretty expensive. The food used to be great, at least, but after the menu (and owner?) change, it's nothing special. Don't love the way they changed the interior, either. I hope we don't get placed at the barrels too often. It doesn't really feel like a pub anymore. Only worth it for the pub quiz!

Got there during Tuesday pub quiz night, absolute blast of a time. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere.

Cozy Irish in winter and fun in summer on the access to the city center, very good burgers and a fabulous atmosphere to chat and enjoy some time with good music and people to be around.

I found the bar quite comfortably furnished. Since it was already too loud for me without the musicians, and I also had trouble understanding the staff in English, I didn't stay there long.

Okay for a drink (due to the ambiance), but the food was terrible.

A very good Irish pub right next to the Rotes Tor (Red Gate) and the Augsburger Puppenkiste (Augsburg Puppet Theatre). It was very busy that evening; there was a pub quiz on... the staff did a great job.

Hey, sorry, but I haven't had such bad service in a long time. I asked for something three times, got no response, and paid to go somewhere else to eat. Things have really gone downhill.

We (a group of friends) were extremely disappointed with our visit yesterday. Unfortunately, the change in management passed us by; apparently, service is no longer a priority... We waited 40 minutes to be served – despite repeated requests. When it came to ordering drinks, the waitress was overwhelmed and couldn't answer even simple questions and wanted to clarify. She didn't come back to finalize our drinks orders. So, after 45 minutes (!), hungry and thirsty, we decided to leave and find another restaurant. We'll most likely never see this place again. It's a shame, really, because we had a good experience with the previous owner.

Service became very bad after the change of manangement. Staff are rude.

To put it briefly, it's simply authentically good. Highly recommended.

As a guest, you should be able to speak English, have strong nerves, and ideally not have tickets for the open-air theater. Communication is extremely difficult, and the service is disorganized. Reserving a table in advance isn't even possible. Luckily, you can get your own drinks in the beer garden, because you'll have to wait almost an hour for the food, which you pay for in advance. The "I don't speak German" scam gets really annoying! Only one server in the pub was friendly and helpful. It was my first and definitely last visit to Murdocks! If you appreciate good service, you're definitely better off in Augsburg. What a shame!

We had a great time here. Everyone was very friendly. A very authentic pub. A wide selection of whiskeys. The food is absolutely fine. Unfortunately, reservations aren't available on weekends.

My soul bleeds. Murdocks was like a mini-vacation in Ireland. The service, drink selection, and Irish dishes were absolutely amazing. Now, the menu is reduced to run-of-the-mill dishes like everywhere else. The drinks selection is nothing special anymore. Only the ambiance is still top-notch. But that's the fault of the previous owner. I hope for a new tenant who will run Murdocks like it used to be.

Ate there again after a few years. Friendly staff, typical Irish pub atmosphere. Long wait for food, even though the place was almost empty. Burgers and fish & chips were poorly served. Burgers were served in a basket. How are you supposed to cut them with a blunt knife? The meat wasn't seasoned. Coleslaw has been discontinued. Steak knives are no longer offered. There's also no seasoning set like before. You have to order everything individually. The fish is also served in such a way that it's almost impossible to cut. Very disappointing. We won't be eating there again.

Top beer garden! You order and pay at the bar, where you can take your drinks, and the food is then brought to your table. Everything tasted delicious. This was a great place to pass the time between visiting the Augsburg Puppet Theatre Museum and the theater performance.

The atmosphere is good. Unfortunately, with the new owner, it's no longer worth a visit for me. At 7 p.m., it was no longer possible to order food in the beer garden. The staff didn't communicate this. After 20 minutes in line, during which drinks were also served very slowly, I was informed only when I wanted to place my order. When I asked at the restaurant whether it was possible to at least get nachos with dips, neither the manager nor the staff offered an apology nor a suggestion for a solution.

A very unfriendly, English-speaking boss/owner with no sense of empathy for his hungry guests who wanted to order food at 7 p.m., but his kitchen was already sold out. Even the extremely friendly wait staff found the boss's demeanor embarrassing.

The food was good and the drinks were nice and cold, but unfortunately the service was very slow.

Pub atmosphere. Extensive whiskey selection and good food, from burgers to Irish stew and Shepherd's pie. Regular Bundesliga, Champions League, and Premier League matches are shown on TV.

I'm actually a regular customer, but the change of tenant apparently hasn't done the place any good. On a wonderful holiday, the beer garden was only half full. You order and pay immediately at the drinks counter. The menu is very limited, the prices are exorbitant. 30 euros for fish and chips, a Guinness, and a shandy, plus tip. You really have to think twice...

The wait for the food was way too long. The taste wasn't convincing either.

Sorry, doesn't work at all. I knew Murdocks as a warm and welcoming pub. Came into the almost empty pub today and were initially ignored for a long time. When we were finally able to ask for a place, we were rudely dismissed (with our two dogs in mind) with the comment "sorry, no place" and left standing. Too bad. If you don't like gastronomy and people, you shouldn't work in a pub.

It looks quite a lot like an Irish pub! People are friendly but I personally was missing Wilde temper of Irish or English people 😉

We were there spontaneously with 4 adults and 4 children. The menu online is significantly more extensive than in the restaurant. There is no longer a children's menu. When painting supplies were brought, the former children's menu was there. A bit unfortunate. Not recommended for families. Personally, I found the food too expensive for the performance.

After my visit yesterday I will never come here again. When we ordered we said we would like 3 whiskeys for a maximum of €12. When the drinks came we were given a note about what was supposedly in the glasses and how much it was supposed to cost. When paying, they suddenly said it cost significantly more than what was said/was on the note. When asked, they said there had been a mistake and it still cost more. After further discussion, the waiter (Moritz) became incredibly unprofessional and one could think that it was a deliberate action. A no-go in the catering industry is to serve different products than you ordered and to react in the same way when asked

We went on a Tuesday by chance. Very good atmosphere, very good service, plus there was a pop quiz day which was very entertaining

Lovely Irish pub in a lovely location. The staff is polite and humorous. We had to wait over three quarters of an hour for the food, but it was really good! The toilets could be cleaner. I'd love to come back!

We've enjoyed going to Murdocks for many years and find it has a very authentic Irish pub feel. The food and service have always been good and very friendly, even though the prices have risen considerably in recent years. Unfortunately, we've recently been disappointed with the clientele. Recently, there was a person wearing a "Make America Great Again" cap (whether it was a silly joke or serious), which apparently didn't bother anyone. Unfortunately, we decided against Murdocks for the evening and would have preferred a more relaxed atmosphere.

Really good vibes with long-lasting Irish music, just as you imagined. The selection of Irish whiskeys is huge and the Guinness tastes very good.

I've been here many times to watch football. The service was always very pleasant. Food is good. Parking is difficult, it's better to take the tram. I would always make a reservation on match days because the bar is always full.

Was there with a friend for a relaxed meal and drink. Reservation went smoothly. The food is great and so are the drinks. Murdocks is a great Irish pub. Service: There is a black waiter who rocks the place with his vibe. He feels like he is everywhere and has everyone in sight. He can handle drunk guests as well as newcomers. He is always on top of his game and helpful. Because of this man we will always be happy to come back. He should set up his own tip jar. The waitresses were more likely to chat with friends. The order can sometimes take some time. Then you get to cash in... That wasn't so cool.

A Poor Man's Killian's... It claims to be Irish owned yet the owner is never around plus they haven't a single member of Irish staff. Very disappointing for a pub that claims to be "authentic". No live music, etc. My biggest gripes are the prices of the food. It's unacceptable for what's essentially "pub grub". The quality of the food is decent but the prices are outrageous. The Guinness is the biggest letdown. The heads are too thick and bubbly, the glasses are often greasy and the taste is just off. Sometimes there's a squiggly line on the head (I'm guessing it's a Shamrock) This is cute but honestly, I would prefer a pint that's been poured correctly into a clean glass. There are much better alternatives in Augsburg and Munich for a good pint of stout. I've been here a couple of times now and haven't had any bad experiences with the staff. They're all very friendly but seem very complacent at times. Almost as if they don't want to be there. When it's busy, they have a habit of disappearing... so I would only recommend coming here on a quiet night. Not the worst Irish pub, it's just fairly average.

Was there today for the pub quiz, which was quite entertaining. I think the drinks and food are very expensive. At the same time, you don't get anything special with the wine and I was disappointed with the food: the fries tasted really bad. They were really soggy and didn't taste like anything. A portion costs almost 7 euros. It has to be delivered, in my opinion. The small portion of fish and chips costs 16.50 euros. I find that really expensive. There really has to be something great presented. Unfortunately the breading wasn't completely done and the fries were as described above. Too bad! Given the prices, next time I'll eat at home and just drink. And that too tends to be bottled drinks. I don't actually write reviews, but given the price-performance ratio I wanted to add my two cents - in the hope that the operators will check and improve their quality.

Really nice and cozy place. The service was good. But the food in my opinion was a bit too expensive. But otherwise nice place to hangout with your friends over a couple of beers.

There is a sports bar outside, nothing is shown inside. When asked why the 1st or 2nd Bundesliga wasn't shown on the televisions, they simply said, "We won't do that." But other sports such as the Premiere League etc. are not shown. Then just take the sign down?!

Very nice pub at the Red Gate. When the weather is good, there is outdoor dining. Wide range of Irish and German beers. There are many different whiskeys to try and enjoy, both from Scotland and Ireland. There are various snacks to eat with, especially finger food (burgers, fries, chicken pieces,...). Great place for after work or to wind down after a football game.

Yesterday I was in the beer garden so the atmosphere through the old walls stood out. Then there’s the great food and good beer. I had a Classic Burger and a wonderful Guinness with a very nice shamrock. The waiter with the dreadlocks (looks like he's from the Caribbean) was very nice and just a great entertainer. Anyone who wants to try and experience something Irish should pay a visit here.

I like this establishment. Very cozy, interestingly decorated. Lots of space. There are tables outside. Delicious beer, good selection. There's plenty to choose from to eat. Very nice service

A great Irish restaurant with a beautiful beer garden in a historic location! Beer garden with good drinks for self-service, food is served! My dish was different from the menu, but tasted good!

We sat outside and then ordered our drinks and food at the “bar”. The employee behind the bar was very nice and the burgers were really tasty. Since we were there relatively early it went very quickly. The only point of criticism is the very high prices, which really shocked us. But well, staff, materials and rent also have to be paid.

We were looking forward to a relaxed meal before our visit to the open-air theater. The reserved table was on the slope and I felt like a ski jumper at the jump table throughout the evening because my chair was at a huge angle. My food arrived after about an hour, and the cutlery came another 5 minutes later. My girlfriend had to watch me eat. She got her food about 1.5 hours after ordering. We will look for another restaurant the next time we visit the open-air stage.

Reserved a week in advance via Insta, only received confirmation upon request. Got there on time and then "unfortunately" couldn't get a seat because people came and got the table due to the rain. Really bad! Actually a nice place, but... Then we went into the fire and it was all good and nice.

The change was kept without asking and with a grin. Already bold with self-service! I assume that as a guest I can decide for myself how much to tip.
