A very atmospheric Bavarian restaurant! I think tourists will love it here. The food is delicious. It's designed for a strong Bavarian stomach, as everything is very filling and fatty. I got a stomach ache from all the "exotic" food, but it was actually very tasty. We liked the beer. Oh, how I wish I had that beer right now! The food was very tasty and filling; I didn't even want breakfast the next day, I ate so well. The place is noisy.

Everything was great. The waiter was very nice. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey. But everything was delicious and the staff left a very good impression, so it was worth it.

It is a nice local place also very close to train station. Its staff is kind, they are friendly and the service ia quick .

Lunch arrived very quickly and the Italian menu was excellent. We had overlooked the lunch special on the blackboard for €14 including a drink.

I came here with my partner and we had a short wait to be seated. It was well worth the wait! I had the veal schnitzel and my partner got the Müncher burger. The food was incredible! Cooked to perfection. The schnitzel was delicious with the traditional cranberry sauce and my partners burger was a 'make it yourself' beautifully displayed! Our server was absolutely lovely and very attentive despite the very busy restaurant! Atmosphere was like a traditional Bavarian pub which was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!

The food is ok, nothing to write home about compared to some other Bavarian food places in Munich. The location is convenient as it is right across the street from the Hauptbahnhof, however the service is not amazing. The server we had was very "German" in his service, direct, straightforward, etc.,, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it depends on the person and we don't mind, but it could be a turn off for others. They serve Paulaner beer which I would describe as refreshing, but Augustiner beer is definitely the best tasting in Munich.

Unfortunately, the cutlery on the table was dirty and had to be completely replaced. The water bottle, which is apparently constantly refilled, was smeared, and the Kaiserschmarrn was unacceptable. The only positive aspect was the very friendly waiters. Sorry, but this is simply unacceptable.

good location and great beer and food

Since I was already in Munich, I thought I'd try some proper Bavarian food – pork knuckle and sauerkraut. The pork knuckle was so tough (3mm thick skin with no fat) that even a knife couldn't cut through it. A complete disappointment. The restaurant was very loud and uncomfortable. The waiters were preoccupied, even though it wasn't full. Definitely not recommended!

Without a doubt the worst service I have experienced for years, anywhere in the world. Dining on my own, I arrived to a small queue of two groups waiting to be seated. Reached the front of the queue and was then ignored for five minutes. Waitress came and went from the entrance a few times, ignoring me. I almost left. Another single person arrived, and the waitress served him first. I informed her I had been waiting and she did indeed seat me first. I was seated at a table with a stranger. Neither of us were asked if this was okay. This would be wildly abnormal in Australia, but perhaps that’s just the way things are in Germany. Roll with it. The restaurant clearly caters to a tourist market, most of whom speak English, But does not bother to have an English menu. There is a QR code with a link to one. The food is lacklustre. I had the schnitzel, it underwhelmed me. I guess schnitzel can’t be too amazing, but somehow for 24 euro I assumed it would be. Wrong. The atmosphere is noisy and chaotic. Even if I had wanted to speak to the stranger opposite, I probably couldn’t have without yelling. Perhaps it’s what you look for in a traditional Bavarian restaurant, that sense of a raucous brew house, but when the staff are grumpy and indifferent, it detracts from it. I had a beer. I wanted a second, but could not attract the attention of wait staff to ask for one, despite multiple attempts. Even when the waitress delivered the meal of the person opposite me she did not pause to make eye contact with either of us, and rushed away as I said excuse me. I finished my meal and just wanted to leave. I spent ten minutes attempting to flag down a staff member to ask for the bill. I could not. Therefore I stood up and returned to the front of the restaurant. Again, joined a queue of people waiting to be seated. After five minutes I was to be served, and informed the waiter where I had been sitting and asked whether I could pay the bill. “Of course”, he said gruffly to me, before tapping away on the register briefly. Without further acknowledging me, he then walked away, to the back of the restaurant and out of sight, for a minute or two. Returning, he started clearing away some napkins that someone had left on a counter, and then walked away again, totally ignoring me. So I told him that I was leaving, and walked out the door. That got his attention, he followed me outside and started abusing me for leaving without paying. I told him that clearly I was willing to pay and that I’d been TRYING to pay for fifteen minutes. He scoffed at me, continued to abuse me, and I presume was going to assault me because another staff member came and stood between us, encouraging him to walk away. I then paid the bill and left. The food here is not worth the hassle. Go elsewhere.

October 2025: Ate here again a year later and ordered the same dishes. Food tastes the same. Not sure if the price increased. Now they take orders and payment via QR (at one section of the restaurant) but the entire menu is in German so it may be tough for some. No tipping required since this is QR. Service was ok. November 2024: Service was excellent and the food came quickly. We were provided sharing plates which was a first and enjoyed the fish and the duck. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe. The only unfortunate thing was that a 10% service was automatically added without informing us, and we are not sure if it was done by the server or the restaurant. I only found out after I asked if I could tip so this affected the overall impression because the server was great at first.

I went to this restaurant twice on a 3-day trip to Munich. Although the service was not consistent, the first night experience made up for the mistakes during the second visit. The food is very good. I had the pig’s knuckle and it was delicious. I went with my partner and a couple of friends, and we all had a good time. One of my friends had dietary restrictions and the staff was very accommodating and made food that was suitable for her diet. Just make sure you make reservations before going so you get seated in the main area.

As expected, Asians are still being cornered here. They only put Asians in the corners. One middle-aged male server was really friendly. When I finished eating and left, I said good night, and he said good night again. Racism is a daily occurrence.

Legit Bavarian food right across from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Get your Weißwurst fix here! They also have a full Italian menu. The wait staff included Italians, so I expect those items to be as good as the Bavarian menu.

Incredibly expensive, and my son's quote about the Wiener Schnitzel probably says it all: "I ate some from "Ja" last night out of the microwave and they were better than this."

Good food, nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, two of our dishes were left at the table and arrived 15 minutes late. Otherwise, I'd happily return. It tastes good and the drinks are decent.

This was our last stop on our trip to Bavaria, as I didn't want to leave without a Kaiserschmarrn. We got a table right away and were served very quickly. The food arrived relatively quickly and was very tasty. It just took a little longer to pay, but we were there at lunchtime.

I always enjoy coming here. Very good Bavarian food, nicely centrally located near the train station, and they also serve delicious dark Paulaner beer. The only thing is that the noise level can be quite high on some days.

I came here because it is pretty close to my hotel. Food is not bad but not so special compare with so many famous same style restaurants in Munich.

This place is really friendly and delicious. It's perfect for dinner while waiting for the train at Munich Station. We ordered a half-and-half Haxen, two beers, and dessert, and it was delicious! I highly recommend it.

We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. I ordered a beer goulash, which arrived in five minutes (it was delicious and the portions were generous). I can definitely recommend Die Münchener Stubn if you want to treat yourself to good food and a pleasant atmosphere :)

I had to wait over an hour for my order because I was sitting outside. It’s a bit of a bummer that they only accept card payments, which is clearly posted on the table. Plus, the waitress was asking for a card payment before I even placed the order, which felt a little pushy. I wouldn’t recommend it. Oh, and just so you know, beer is more expensive than in Zürich 🤦

Tasty food and the service was nice and friendly. I had to use the wi-fi while waiting for my train and they were accomodating and shared the password.

I visited Münchner Stubn, located conveniently near Munich Central Station, after a long and exhausting day of travel. With a reservation in hand, we were looking forward to unwinding with some hearty Bavarian-Naples fare in what appeared to be a bustling, authentic spot. The place was packed, which initially seemed like a good sign of its popularity, and we were greeted politely by a staff member named Thomas, who escorted us to our table without issue. However, that's where the positives end. The restaurant was so crowded that no waiter appeared to take our order for quite some time. We noticed a QR code on the table – a common digital ordering system these days – and decided to use it for efficiency. We scanned it, placed our order, and even completed the payment online, as the system required it upfront. The process was straightforward, and we received confirmation that the payment had gone through, with the amount deducted from my bank account and clearly credited to Münchner Stubn. When a waitress finally arrived, apologizing for the delay, we informed her of our online order. She checked her system and returned claiming no order existed. I showed her the proof of payment on my banking app, but she dismissed it and walked away without further assistance. Frustrated, I followed her and requested to speak with a manager, who turned out to be Thomas – the same person who had welcomed us so courteously. Thomas initially seemed willing to help, asking to see the proof. I obliged, but his demeanor shifted dramatically. He insisted the payment was invalid, accused us of lying, and began shouting in a highly unprofessional manner. Despite my polite requests to double-check or find a resolution, he stormed off, ignoring us completely. I had to chase after him just to get any response, only to be met with more shouting and denial. He refused to acknowledge the banking evidence and demanded we reorder through the waitress and pay again – essentially forcing us to pay twice for the same order. Exhausted and not wanting to escalate further in a foreign city, we reluctantly complied. Thomas gave me his card and told me to complain at the email on it. I won't be doing that since I'm sure he manages the emails and will just delete it. The food itself, when it finally arrived, was actually quite good – flavorful Bavarian-Naples dishes that lived up to the restaurant's reputation for quality. But by that point, our evening was utterly ruined. What could have been a simple IT glitch (which are common in digital ordering systems) was handled with aggression and zero empathy, turning a relaxing dinner into a stressful ordeal. In a city like Munich, where hospitality is key to the tourism scene, this level of rudeness from management is unacceptable. Restaurants should train staff to manage technical issues gracefully rather than alienating paying customers. I won't be returning to Münchner Stubn and would advise others to think twice, especially if you're relying on their digital system. There are plenty of other spots near the station that value their guests more.

We were there for lunch. A beer tent atmosphere, complete with rowdy and abusive men. Overwhelmed staff. The noise level was louder than at the main train station.

We were at the Italian restaurant next door, and since we were very disappointed there and still hungry, we went in here. Our server was very friendly and in a good mood, as service personnel should be. We had soup and the bratwurst with sauerkraut.

Andreas recomended me an amazing pizza and it turned to be an amazing choise. Fatanstic italian chef meets german mashrooms and tasty meat. NOT MENTIONING THE GERMAN BEER Just PERFECT... I did not eat here in my life, but I am an Uber driver. I came to take orders. I waited more than 15 minutes and the requests were ready. My friend and I wanted the orders and he replied in the Apmanian language. You must wait and it does not matter. Wait outside. There is no respect. We are intermediaries to deliver food to your customers. We should not be treated.

We were here on the last day of Oktoberfest. The noise level was appropriate, but we were still able to have a good conversation. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The food and beer were delicious and as expected. All in all, we really enjoyed it and can highly recommend it.

First time in MONACO and as an ITALIAN I recommend this place for the excellent pizza, not only vegan alternatives but Neapolitan pizza with a high crust and abundant toppings!!! Super SATISFACTORY

Went for lunch and dinner. Both were great but the live band experience for dinner is truly amazing. Unfortunately it stops at 11pm

When we were there, a DJ was playing and singing, and the atmosphere was really good. The service was very fast, and the food arrived promptly. The half ham hock was solid, but nothing outstanding. The prices were okay for the location and the time of day, although they were still quite expensive, but what can you expect.

The food is good, albeit expensive. However, you should avoid this place if you have any respect for women. Or is it normal to have a sign on the wall saying, "Women, don't want to be treated like a bastard"? That's truly disgusting.

I spilled about half of the beer and caused a lot of trouble. Thank you for quickly cleaning up the table and floor. I was also really happy that you even replaced the beer. Thank you very much!

We were misled with the Oktoberfest platter, which costs €39 but can only be ordered for a minimum of two people. There were two of us, and we ordered just one platter. However, we were charged as if we had taken two platters, so in the end, the single platter cost us €78. Such deception is very unpleasant.

We went there very spontaneously, as Oktoberfest was closed due to overcrowding, and we wanted a bite to eat and a drink. Despite the restaurant being very full, we got a table and felt completely welcome. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of looking at what was on the table and found a QR code that you can use to order something yourself. Since the waitress took longer (which is completely understandable given the number of people there), we thought it would be easier to just order using the QR code. Fatal mistake. When the waitress noticed this, she yelled at us, asking us what we were thinking ordering using that code and was incredibly rude. That wasn't enough; a minute later she came back and ripped the QR code off the table, along with the salt and pepper. We were shocked, to put it mildly. That's absolutely not okay! It was really extremely busy, which is why we tried to be understanding with her... I worked in the catering industry for years myself and had very stressful shifts... but I have never displayed such aggressive and extremely unfriendly behavior. Well, the food was very good, although a bit pricey for us (I think average for Munich), and the atmosphere was top notch. When I tried to explain why we ordered using the QR code, they didn't even listen to me properly. They just responded with a rude "it's no good at all." No apology, nothing. I can recommend the restaurant, but I'd rather not recommend the QR code 😂.

It’s continently located outside the Munich train station, it is a good option if you want German food upon arrival. My waiter was good and the service was fast. I just found it rather strange that all the tourist seemed to being sat in the rear of the restaurant… It’s a touristy spot so the prices are really high. The food is average for what you pay.

Our first Oktoberfest and this place gave us the quintessential beer garden feel. Food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. The Beef Beer Gulash and Simmental Beef Loin is Highly recommended. Wash it down with a half liter of dunkel.

The most German thing you can have in München

Food was horrible. Had the snitzel and it was hard and dry. Probably the Words I’ve ever had. The bruchetta came out last and was supposed to be an appetizer. I would not go back! Our waiter wasn’t very helpful.

The schnitzel was very dry, the wine was old tasting and the guy who seated us waited until he was finished with his conversation with his colleague. Not going back, No offer to reduce price or get new dish.

Family vacation with family and friends (ages 22-53), we’ve returned to this restaurant every night for 3 nights for food and fun!! Love it here!

You order apple strudel and they give you ice cream and cream on the side without you even asking, and then they charge you for it. We swallowed it all.

A good restaurant, but the staff seem a bit overwhelmed by the number of customers. However, if you want good food, this is the place for you!

We've often had better meals in Munich. Apart from table assignments, you have no interaction with the staff. Nobody even told us we had to order using our smartphones. The value for money is significantly better at the Irmi restaurant at the Hotel Le Meridien, for example. Conclusion: Tourist attractions with a corresponding value for money.

Nicely decorated, even in the details. Perfect location if you're hungry and getting off a delayed train. The burger was a bit underseasoned and overcooked. Otherwise, the food was fine. A slight deduction because it was 15-20% overpriced, even for a central Munich location – the setup in the picture came to €35 without tip. A vegetarian dish with two types of dumplings costs €23 (!) (I didn't eat it).

The "Münchner Stubn" is located right next to the main train station. Thanks to its central location in a lively area, the restaurant is very busy almost all day and evening. Upon entering, you first have to wait at the entrance until the staff assigns you a seat. Therefore, there is no free choice of seating. It's also worth noting that payment is ONLY accepted with debit or credit cards, not cash. The dining room is cozy and typically Bavarian. Service is prompt. The traditional Bavarian food is tasty, and the portions are decent. Prices are OK by Munich standards, but Munich is very expensive in itself. I paid €29.00 for my Braumeisterschnitzel with a large apple spritzer, excluding tip. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and the food.

We went there again, found it by chance, selected on Google Maps by chance. We had a wonderful meal and a very good meal, too, so we went to eat today in the middle of nowhere. It's right in front of the station, so it's a little more expensive than other restaurants, but the location is great. It was busy at dinnertime on the weekend, although there were no customers waiting. The sausage dish was delicious. The portion was just right for two people to share.

Completely overpriced tourist restaurant!

One of the best pizzas I've had in Germany so far. Truly unbelievably good, great ingredients, generous toppings, a Neapolitan touch you rarely get.

I had lunch here recently and while the food was fine, I was disappointed with the billing experience. The server cross checked the items I ordered with me verbally and then said the total bill was €44.50, presenting me the machine to tap my card. When I asked for the receipt after paying, I then noticed an additional €3 had been added as a tip without my consent or prior notice. A basic courtesy would be for the server to first ask diners if they wish to leave a tip, rather than adding it without consent.

The pork chop was dry, but the chocolate mousse was delicious.

Great atmosphere and delicious food! I had the sirloin steak, cooked perfectly to my liking. Not a huge fan of the leafy salad on the side, but it was still fresh and tasty. Our server was fantastic – fun, outgoing, and made us feel right at home (especially appreciated by us from Northern Norway!). We were seated at a long table, which created a social and cozy vibe. Highly recommended!
