The two of us only had a snack here: Kaiserschmarren. It was very tasty!

A cozy inn, beautifully decorated, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The pizzas are highly recommended; they taste absolutely fantastic.

A very welcoming, traditional, and charming place. Friendly staff. We ate well and at a reasonable price compared to the local average. The goulash was excellent, the meat a little tough. The local dishes are good, and the pizza deserves a special mention—a slice of Naples in Munich.

Delicious Bavarian food and atmosphere. The meals were large and filling. Traditional recipes and decor. Beer went down well. Definitely worth a visit.

The restaurant is really busy, pretty much at all times. We made a booking and arrived on time, the staff who was in charge of seating us was pretty rude, ignored us like we weren't even standing there. When we were seated, we got assigned an amazing staff which made the night much better. The food was avarage at best, I've ordered Goulash and found the dumplings pretty dry, it was waste of food as I couldn't eat any of it. The goulash was good though. Rest of the table found their food pretty avarage too.

Kaiserschmarrn is WONDERFUL!!! And of course, the main courses are also very tasty 👌

A wonderfully pleasant stay. Very comfortable and modernly furnished rooms. The hotel team, from reception to restaurant staff, is exceptionally friendly. Very welcoming atmosphere. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fair. I would stay here again anytime and can highly recommend the Tegernseer Hof.

Service great, but the food was very, very average. I had the Brewmaster schnitzel (a traditional schnitzel tastes better) with coleslaw (which was delicious) and dumpling gröstl (which were soggy and not nice). The apple strudel with ice cream was good…but again, very average.

We had to wait in line briefly without a reservation, but it was worth the wait. The service was excellent; the staff were very friendly. The food portions were generous.

We were looking for a restaurant around the corner from our hotel, and I must say the schnitzel was delicious. We went back the next day. Super friendly service and authentic cuisine. We would and will come again. Cheers and thanks!

Just a drink with a friend (and her dog) here. Nice atmosphere. Quite big, so not cozy, b it friendly staff, also brought some water for the doggo. Quite crowded/ large queue when we left (around 6pm).

Pizza place! Don't eat Haxenㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's the toughest of all the Haxen Collegno Stelje pig's feet I've hadㅋㅋㅋㅋㅜㅠ But the potato cake that comes with it is the best of all the potato cakes I've had. I ate Buffalina pizza, but it was tastier than most pizza places. Paulaner draft beer is really the best. The server is rude, but he's kindㅋ.ㅋ I saw him refuse a tip when someone at the next table offered it. Also, it's convenient because you can scan a QR code to order online and pay in advance.

A convenience place hear the main station. The prices are a little high. But the place is friendly to non-German speakers and the food is very good. And easy coming or going from the Hauptbahnhoff!

I was there due to a layover and received a friendly welcome. It's a typical Bavarian inn. The staff are efficient and incredibly kind.

The food was great. We ordered the spetzel, pork loin, sausage pan and schnitzel. All of these items were flavorful and we'll prepared with big portion sizes. The ambiance was on theme but not corny, well decorated in traditional German style. I have to say that the pretzel tasted stale, and the mustard was store-bought packets. I expected more from these items. Also the customer service was lacking, staff was a bit prickly and unwelcoming. Overall we enjoyed most of the food immensely, and would return, so I gave 5 stars despite room for improvement.

It's not salty and it's delicious.

Great location outside the central train station, catering mostly to tourists but there were a number of German speakers eating here. We arrived at 6PM on a weekday night without a reservation and were immediately seated but the place stayed pretty packed all evening. Staff were very friendly with fast service and spoke perfect English (much better than my German). The menu is standard German fare and is probably 15% more expensive than a smaller local restaurant, but the serving sizes are very generous and quality of food is very high. Beer is expensive here and they don't sell 1L (large) beers at all nor do they have very many varieties of beer. If you ask for water, they will charge you (somewhat common in Europe). Only accept payment by credit card and they do not request any extra gratuity (all included). Overall if you are at the train station and don't speak German but still want a great German food experience, this is your place.

One of the best German restaurants I've ever eaten at. For starters, we ordered homemade veal meatballs which were very tasty, simply divine!!! We also ordered the Schnitzel with potatoes and half a pork knuckle. Both dishes were very well served and well seasoned. Excellent service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.

His roasted pork knuckle was delicious, prepared in a different way than the pork knuckle in Berlin. The pork knuckle at this restaurant didn't fall apart easily and had a great texture. The waiters were also very friendly. However, they don't accept cash, only electronic payments such as credit cards!

We had a delicious dinner here; the food was ready quickly and tasted great. It wasn't very busy when we were there, so it wasn't noisy at all.

Had a Doppla Cottura pizza with a hefty serving of pesto on it with a couple of Helles beers, delicious. The atmosphere was just right for the moment and the service by an older Italian gentleman was excellent. A wonderful treat to behold while in Munich just across the street from the Hauptbahnhof Munchen. Definitely worth a visit to gather your thoughts and reflect on the days events.

We were pleasantly surprised. As non-tourists, we don't usually eat at the main train station. But for the sake of my friends from the Far East, who were staying overnight at the station, we reserved a table at Münchner Stubn. The prices were a bit higher than "elsewhere with a different brewery," but it was worth it. I haven't had such good Kasspatzn (cheese spaetzle) in Munich for a long time... The roast pork was also very good, a generous portion. The pizzas were especially fantastic! It was clear that half the customers in the room were ordering pizza. Just like in Naples! (I've never been there, but I can imagine...) Our friends could hardly finish their meals, so they had the leftovers packed up. We locals will definitely be back and will order pizza or Kasspatzn again next time! Thanks for the wonderful evening.

Personally Ordered takeout via the Google/wolt app. Very strange retrieval process; go back to the kitchen ring a bell and wait even though my order said ready. And it was just sitting there. But no one acknowledged the bell ring or my attempts to grab attention. Food was good. Atmosphere was cool, take out service is wack. No utensils, but maybe that's the norm.

I had made a reservation, which is recommended as it's very busy.

Münchner Stubn on Bayerstraße offers a truly enjoyable Bavarian dining experience. We ordered the master brewer schnitzel, char, and a house salad, and everything was excellent. The food was well prepared, full of flavor, and served in generous portions. The quality matched the price perfectly, making it great value for money. Tourist restaurant. We had to pay 6,50 for water that came straight from the tap. When confronted about this staff was close to agressive. The only good thing about our visit was leaving.

Münchner Stubn is a great restaurant with a very warm and traditional atmosphere. The food is delicious and full of flavor. The pizzas and pork knuckles are fantastic. The portions are generous and everything feels homemade. The beer of course is very nice and goes perfectly with the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to help with recommendations. The place feels cozy and authentic.

Very German restaurant with German vibe. Tables in neat lines with subtle attractive decor. Great menu with extended daily specials. We shared the chestnut soup and loved it! Schnitzel & beer for mains with tender and lightly breaded. Service was attentive and friendly in traditional clothes. Next to Central train station & on a major tram line.

We ate wonderfully, recommended by the excellent Salvatore who served us. Highly recommended. If you're Italian, go in the evening and ask for Salvatore, who will help you choose dishes that best suit your taste.

The restaurant now only accepts card payments! No cash! I personally find it unacceptable that cash, as legal tender, is being refused here. For me, the option to pay in cash is an important aspect of freedom. Because of this exclusive payment method, I will no longer be visiting this establishment.

Unfortunately, after the last price increase, it's €6.90 for a half-liter. A completely unacceptable price.

Stopped by here for dinner on our first night in Munich. Delicious bratwurst and wheat beers. They managed to squeeze us in without a booking. Service was great and it was easy to order.

Delicious food, all freshly prepared. Highly recommended. A bit pricey, but the quality makes it worth it. I'll definitely be back.

A restaurant serving traditional German food. You can go for a meal or just for a beer. The food was excellent, and the beer is on another level of excellence. The waiters are incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Payment is by credit card or similar, and the service is quite fast.

Typical Bavarian restaurant, we had dinner here after a day of walking, a place with a nice typical atmosphere, even the staff dressed in typical Bavarian clothes, a nice extensive menu with typical and non-typical foods, we opted for typical dishes, and therefore sausages, pork knuckle etc etc (you have to like the strong flavours of their vegetables) excellent desserts, the price is a little high, €95 per couple

Fabulous Bsvarisn food, cheerful service, and lovely ambiance! We had a very short layover between trains and the restaurant was conveniently close to Munich Central Station. Our order of multiple dishes came out very fast - allowing us time to enjoy before we had to catch our next train. HIGHLY recommended!

I had a quick dinner by myself at the Münchner Stubn as I arrived quite late. The Schweinsbraten was delicious and the sides were good aswell. All in all it was a good start to my stay in Munich!

Food was very good, service not so much. The server seemed to take offense at us ordering via smartphone (which was advertised on the table flyer). We had to ask about drinks (which can happen), but then we were snapped at for even thinking of ordering via QR code. Sort it out amongst yourselves, but don't snap at the customers!

We spontaneously decided to eat there as a group of five. The food was absolutely delicious and arrived very quickly :) The service was also very friendly and efficient. Prices are naturally a bit higher since it's right next to the train station, but it was perfectly reasonable for what we got. We were all very impressed with the restaurant's atmosphere. Everything was top-notch 😊👍🏼

It's a great place to taste some of what Bavaria has to offer (food-wise). You'll find classics like schnitzel, knuedle (dumplings), sausages and sauerkraut alongside beers and local wines. I didn't like the mix of German-Italian foods. Personally I love them both - but a Bavarian restaurant should stick to the local cuisine. Otherwise it's a good place for a good meal.

The pizza was great. Also the dessert was delicious. Both of them were big and one was enough for two person.

We didn't need to book and waiting time was less than 1min. The restaurant is very pretty and decor is very nice. Servants are kind. Food quality was nice and portions were big. The Schweinhaxe was outside very Crispy and inside was tender. It's a little bit greasy so it would be better with some pickled thing. The ordered food came very very fast, We wait less than 10min after ordering it.

The food is great. The service is quick and attentive. The decor is a bit too upscale, making the rustic feel somewhat cold. The fascinating thing is: outside is the hectic, noisy main train station. As soon as the door closes, you're enveloped in a quiet, cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger. It's almost surreal to have a window seat. Outside, it's absolute chaos—clearly visible—while inside, shortly after midday, you experience wonderful peace and quiet. A window seat is a real treat! 👍

A perfectly good inn with plenty of space and good food. The table service was very good, but the reception had a rather quirky humor that might not be to everyone's taste. The price is correspondingly higher due to its proximity to the train station. Hence, only 4 stars in each category. Overall, however, we were very satisfied.

A very atmospheric Bavarian restaurant! I think tourists will love it here. The food is delicious. It's designed for a strong Bavarian stomach, as everything is very filling and fatty. I got a stomach ache from all the "exotic" food, but it was actually very tasty. We liked the beer. Oh, how I wish I had that beer right now! The food was very tasty and filling; I didn't even want breakfast the next day, I ate so well. The place is noisy.

Everything was great. The waiter was very nice. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey. But everything was delicious and the staff left a very good impression, so it was worth it.

Lunch arrived very quickly and the Italian menu was excellent. We had overlooked the lunch special on the blackboard for €14 including a drink.

I came here with my partner and we had a short wait to be seated. It was well worth the wait! I had the veal schnitzel and my partner got the Müncher burger. The food was incredible! Cooked to perfection. The schnitzel was delicious with the traditional cranberry sauce and my partners burger was a 'make it yourself' beautifully displayed! Our server was absolutely lovely and very attentive despite the very busy restaurant! Atmosphere was like a traditional Bavarian pub which was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!

The food is ok, nothing to write home about compared to some other Bavarian food places in Munich. The location is convenient as it is right across the street from the Hauptbahnhof, however the service is not amazing. The server we had was very "German" in his service, direct, straightforward, etc.,, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it depends on the person and we don't mind, but it could be a turn off for others. They serve Paulaner beer which I would describe as refreshing, but Augustiner beer is definitely the best tasting in Munich.

Bad food.. no matter if you eat pork/duck 🦆/sausages or steak, it's all covered in the same disgusting spices so it all tastes the same 🤨

Unfortunately, the cutlery on the table was dirty and had to be completely replaced. The water bottle, which is apparently constantly refilled, was smeared, and the Kaiserschmarrn was unacceptable. The only positive aspect was the very friendly waiters. Sorry, but this is simply unacceptable.

good location and great beer and food

Without a doubt the worst service I have experienced for years, anywhere in the world. Dining on my own, I arrived to a small queue of two groups waiting to be seated. Reached the front of the queue and was then ignored for five minutes. Waitress came and went from the entrance a few times, ignoring me. I almost left. Another single person arrived, and the waitress served him first. I informed her I had been waiting and she did indeed seat me first. I was seated at a table with a stranger. Neither of us were asked if this was okay. This would be wildly abnormal in Australia, but perhaps that’s just the way things are in Germany. Roll with it. The restaurant clearly caters to a tourist market, most of whom speak English, But does not bother to have an English menu. There is a QR code with a link to one. The food is lacklustre. I had the schnitzel, it underwhelmed me. I guess schnitzel can’t be too amazing, but somehow for 24 euro I assumed it would be. Wrong. The atmosphere is noisy and chaotic. Even if I had wanted to speak to the stranger opposite, I probably couldn’t have without yelling. Perhaps it’s what you look for in a traditional Bavarian restaurant, that sense of a raucous brew house, but when the staff are grumpy and indifferent, it detracts from it. I had a beer. I wanted a second, but could not attract the attention of wait staff to ask for one, despite multiple attempts. Even when the waitress delivered the meal of the person opposite me she did not pause to make eye contact with either of us, and rushed away as I said excuse me. I finished my meal and just wanted to leave. I spent ten minutes attempting to flag down a staff member to ask for the bill. I could not. Therefore I stood up and returned to the front of the restaurant. Again, joined a queue of people waiting to be seated. After five minutes I was to be served, and informed the waiter where I had been sitting and asked whether I could pay the bill. “Of course”, he said gruffly to me, before tapping away on the register briefly. Without further acknowledging me, he then walked away, to the back of the restaurant and out of sight, for a minute or two. Returning, he started clearing away some napkins that someone had left on a counter, and then walked away again, totally ignoring me. So I told him that I was leaving, and walked out the door. That got his attention, he followed me outside and started abusing me for leaving without paying. I told him that clearly I was willing to pay and that I’d been TRYING to pay for fifteen minutes. He scoffed at me, continued to abuse me, and I presume was going to assault me because another staff member came and stood between us, encouraging him to walk away. I then paid the bill and left. The food here is not worth the hassle. Go elsewhere.

Since I was already in Munich, I thought I'd try some proper Bavarian food – pork knuckle and sauerkraut. The pork knuckle was so tough (3mm thick skin with no fat) that even a knife couldn't cut through it. A complete disappointment. The restaurant was very loud and uncomfortable. The waiters were preoccupied, even though it wasn't full. Definitely not recommended!

October 2025: Ate here again a year later and ordered the same dishes. Food tastes the same. Not sure if the price increased. Now they take orders and payment via QR (at one section of the restaurant) but the entire menu is in German so it may be tough for some. No tipping required since this is QR. Service was ok. November 2024: Service was excellent and the food came quickly. We were provided sharing plates which was a first and enjoyed the fish and the duck. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe. The only unfortunate thing was that a 10% service was automatically added without informing us, and we are not sure if it was done by the server or the restaurant. I only found out after I asked if I could tip so this affected the overall impression because the server was great at first.
