2nd stay in 2024 and 2 stars. What a difference - a great room with a bathroom, the food of a different quality (the conversation with the chef on Tuesday evening will be remembered) and wonderfully loving and attentive staff - thank you for that.

I was there for breakfast and found the atmosphere really good, great selection at the buffet

We were there for a wedding. The ambience was super great. Unfortunately, the food didn't blow me away.

The food is perfect. The waiting time is also reasonable.

However, the mills in the sausage roastery grind very slowly... Otherwise very good and tasty 😋

Such a beautiful place. We were invited to a wedding there. Everything fit. The complex is impressively beautiful and stylishly furnished. Located right on the water. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, the service is friendly, the food was great. I would always want to celebrate there, or book a conference, hold a seminar, or whatever. There are a variety of options and reasons why you should spend time there.

Friendly staff and good breakfast cafe with reasonable price-performance ratio

Very nice furnishings and outdoor areas for drinking coffee. Simple cakes but tasty, nothing extraordinary.

Mühlenwerk roastery. Completely overwhelmed staff, especially on Fridays. Wrong order received 3 times in one day. For another few days there was mayo instead of ketchup. Please put people there who know what they are doing here.

The location is a dream. Unfortunately that was the only positive thing when we visited for dinner. The schnitzel was good. Just like the chicken. The fries were completely over salted and deep fried. “Through” in the sense of: overcooked and burned. The ravioli with porcini mushrooms and sage only - really only - tasted of sage. I love sage, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it, but it was too much of a good thing. So nothing else came into play. The Rösti with salmon: felt like 3 packs of smoked salmon for 4 Rösti (and these were cold and tasteless). It's really a shame, because this amount of salmon is not worth it: in terms of the price for the restaurant and also from the waste of food (we took the rest of the salmon with us). (The only picture that was taken because the food wasn't good, in our opinion.) The service needs more training and is also slow when it comes to drinks (waited 20 minutes for drinks). I can't rate the rooms.

Good concept. Rooms functional and very well maintained. Breakfast buffet perfect, bread and cold cuts of high quality! Gladly again!

First of all, breakfast - crispy bacon and delicious rolls. I liked the vanilla curd best. Service was top in the restaurant and also at the reception. There was no iron when I came from the appointment - there was one right in my room. The beds are hard (no judgement) I prefer soft... but my companion preferred hard - so it's all good for him. Rooms are cramped - I would have liked fly screens in front of the window for hot days, but unfortunately there are a lot of mosquitoes because of the great weir where you can have a relaxed breakfast. But otherwise everything is satisfactory.

Homemade 🎂 cake on the terrace, right on the Werre. There is also a restaurant, a hotel and a sausage roastery.

Only visited the restaurant for dinner - the restaurant has a small menu but there should be something for everyone. However, the quality does not correspond to the high prices, which is what you might initially suspect. We each ordered a side salad with our main course. Unfortunately, it wasn't visually appealing at all and the taste was also despicable. The salad itself was very wilted and served with a dark dressing. Didn't look appetizing. My husband had 5 cucumber slices, I had two tomato quarters. Well, I don't know... The main course, however, was quite okay! You can do it. The ambience on site is quite nice, overall a great property! Unfortunately, the service overall didn't work well. We all had our drinks long before the main course was served. Nobody asked on their own initiative whether they could have something more to drink. But well, you can say something yourself. In any case, it took so long to order the drinks that we had already finished eating. The service staff seemed very disorganized and there weren't many customers there that evening. Too bad!

The table was very beautifully decorated. You immediately felt comfortable. 🌞

Super nice service, had breakfast in the cafe, it was great, I can only recommend it. In addition to the cafe, there is a snack bar with a delicious bratwurst, there is also a hotel, restaurant, wedding reception rooms and Willys, a small, cozy pub.

A very nice location, we were invited to the wedding reception there. The service was great, the food was very tasty, everything was perfect. The cafe is also very nice with a view of the Werre and the cakes are amazing.

Went there for dinner in the evening. Very nice atmosphere but that's about it. Card without any information about allergens/additives and unfortunately the waiter was only able to answer questions about it after a long consultation with the kitchen. The food came quite quickly but was simply not good enough and too little for the price range. Mini pieces of meat, salty sauce, a dollop of mashed potatoes and wilted rocket as decoration, the whole thing only lukewarm. The burger was quite dry with almost no sauce, bun and patty. Ketchup for the fries was completely missing and even though the waitress noticed it, nothing was added. It's a shame but I can't recommend this in good conscience.

Was there to eat in the restaurant, everything was great, nice service staff. Pleasant atmosphere.

Were in the cafe. Made a great impression. We would like to try the restaurant and also the breakfast. Hotel is out of the question for us as we live in the Herford district.

Ordered a currywurst with fries from the Wurstbraterei. The sausage and sauce were served lying on a napkin (!), no plate, just a napkin, the sauce ran onto the side of the serving tray! There was no cutlery either, when I asked I was told that here you pick up the (hot!) sausage. I won't even try out the other dining areas in this strange building ensemble.

I was here for dinner. In terms of price, you're in the upper league. The food is freshly prepared and what I have to praise is that it is prepared with fresh ingredients so that the price is ultimately okay. The meat was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were crunchy and the dressing for the salad was very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, I would give it 5 stars if there hadn't been one faux pas. The waiter miscalculated to my disadvantage and apologized by saying that mental arithmetic was never his strength. (It wasn't a small amount!!!) I don't think that's possible. In short, enjoy your meal and do the math when calculating your bill.

In the sausage roastery: 1 x Manta plate 👍 In the café: coffee crema, 2 balls of ice cream 👍 It's a great place to linger behind the café, on the river terrace on the Werre. We also had dinner in the pub with cool drinks. We will repeat that. 👍🍻 And we attended a ceremony in the winter garden, which took place there in a really beautiful atmosphere. All in all, Mühlenwerk 1857 is a successful combination of gastronomy and old, urban building complex.

I was there for a company event. The reception was not staffed upon arrival and I had to wait about 5 minutes. My room was number 11. Surely the lady at the reception knows their rooms and could have given me a different one when I checked in. In any case, the fact is that the bathroom was not usable given my size. The shower had the smallest square cup the shower wall did not fit the shower and was made to fit with stainless steel. The result is that the swinging doors hit the toilet on the left and the sink on the right. My dishwashing attempt ended in a completely flooded swimming area. It was not possible to make an inquiry to reception as it was not occupied. This circumstance became apparent when checking out. It's a shame, it's a beautiful hotel in an old mill in a very idyllic location. Lunch for us was buffet style and the quality was up to standard. There was no hotel bar open after 10 p.m. when I visited. Unfortunately, due to the room and the lack of staff, I cannot make a recommendation.

The service at breakfast is always very nice and attentive.

Thank you for being very accommodating when canceling due to a family emergency! This shows that the people at the mill are passionate about what they do.

We only visited the bratwurst stand while passing through, as the parking options are better here than at Stahl's. €3.50 for the bratwurst, considering that you get half a slice of untoasted bread instead of a roll, is already borderline. We don't need it again.

I celebrated my birthday there, the location is really very nice and very nice colleagues. We will definitely come back for a coffee in the summer. You really invested a lot and well.

A nice hotel, located directly on the Werre

The café is highly recommended, even for small celebrations. I booked the breakfast/buffet there on Sunday morning for my birthday. A very nice location, great service and the buffet was very tasty and plentiful. An all-round successful day. Gladly again 👍

Ein nettes Personal und super Essen

Wir waren zum Frühstück dort ( Buffet). Die Speisen- und Getränkeauswahl ist reichhaltig, alles geschmacklich bestens. Das Ambiente der Gastronomie ist wirklich zum wohlfühlen und man hat einen schönen Ausblick auf die Flusslandschaft der Werre. Der Service ist wirklich vom besten, super freundlich und schnell. Alles in allem kann man nur eine absolute Empfehlung geben, wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Waren zum Frühstücken im Café. Sehr reichhaltig im historischen Ambiente direkt an der Werre. Hier bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Netter Service und auf Wunsch wird Rührei und Co. frisch zubereitet. Danke für den netten Vormittag. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

War nur in der Gaststätte.... Bratkartoffel mit 2 Eiern für 10,40 , ein stolzer Preis, waren ganz gut! Die eine nette Bedienung war nur selten hinterm Tresen, war auch für das Hotel zuständig! ....ach ja, die Heizung war an dem Abend def.

Im Mühlenwerk befindet sich im vorderen Teil eine Kneipe, welche zum Sitzen einläd Preis Leistung stimmt hier

Eine wunderbare Atmosphäre und super schön eingerichtet. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen.

Hübsche Location. Mit vielen Optionen

Wir haben dort unsere Weihnachtsfeier von der Arbeit gehabt. Der Service war super. Sehr aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen find ich nicht so besonders, mag jedoch dran liegen, wer es ausgesucht hat. Das sei Fairness halber dazu gesagt sein! Die Lokation ist der Hammer. Sehr altes Gebäude, sehr toll restauriert.

Weihnachtsessen mit 10 Personen
