Very good restaurant. Friendly staff.

Yesterday, while strolling around, we discovered this restaurant, which looked appealing from the outside. The food was very good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. We'll be back.

Everything is a bit old-fashioned. 200 dishes on the menu. Friendly service. Food arrived quickly. Pasta was okay. House wine was bad: far too acidic and sulfurous. Price was okay.

A fantastic Italian restaurant in one of Oldenburg's oldest buildings. Good service and good prices. Therefore, it's often full. Highly recommended.

An overall rather average Italian restaurant in Oldenburg's city center. The pizza is mediocre, and they charge an exorbitant €2.50 extra for a small portion of Parmesan on the pasta dishes. The rather unfriendly server made it unmistakably clear to us two hours before closing time that they were ready to call it a day and brought us the bill without even asking. The ambiance slightly improves the rating to about 2 to 2.5 stars. Unfortunately, Oldenburg's city center has considerably better Italian restaurants to offer!

Small Italian restaurant in the heart of the city. Quaint, charming atmosphere. Good food and very friendly service.

The food was actually quite good, however, I found a hair in my dish. When I pointed this out, I wasn't initially believed, with the explanation that since there was no cheese on the hair, it couldn't possibly have come from there. The hair was taken away, but nothing further happened. So I went downstairs myself to politely point it out, not because I wanted a new dish (which apparently wasn't an option anyway). Instead, I was told that hair usually burns in the oven and therefore it couldn't have happened. There was no apology. The employee seemed unsure and didn't know how to react, so we were sent to the manager. He simply said, "What am I supposed to do about this?" After that, we went back upstairs. It wasn't until we paid that I brought up the issue again. I explained that I didn't think it was right, since I was paying for the food and the hair clearly wasn't ours, especially since something similar had happened to a friend of mine there. The employee tried to talk her way out of it and eventually offered a half-hearted apology. The manager interrupted several times, not because he wanted to speak with us, but because he was discussing something else with the employee. He talked over us the entire time and seemed clearly annoyed. Only after we reiterated our complaint were we offered a five-euro discount, which the employee apparently hadn't known about before. I remained friendly throughout the entire conversation and simply wanted to provide feedback, but I was neither taken seriously nor treated with respect. For that reason alone, I wouldn't go back.

The restaurant's ambiance is truly enchanting – a beautiful, rustic building with plenty of charm and personality. Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to it. The staff seemed overworked and not particularly friendly, and also appeared overwhelmed. No one checked in to see if everything was alright or if we needed anything else. The food itself was disappointing. Much of it seemed pre-prepared or carelessly cooked. The mixed grill was particularly unappealing – the meat was thin and tough, and the vegetables were undercooked. It's a shame overall, because the location has so much potential. I'm personally disappointed and would like to see the service and kitchen show more attention to detail.

I decided to eat here on a whim, and I wasn't disappointed. The service was really lovely and super friendly. The food and drinks arrived quickly and tasted great! My spontaneity was more than rewarded!

It was our first time in Oldenburg and we happened to discover the small side street where the restaurant is located. It has charm from the outside, and the charm continues inside. A quaint, cozy atmosphere in this old building. The lady who served us was very friendly and quick. The food was delicious. So, in our opinion, we highly recommend it.

Very cozy, large selection, very very tasty!

Some like it, others don't. It's a matter of taste. For me, the pizza isn't really what I expect from an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately.

The food was a little too salty. But all in all, we had a lovely evening here.

Didn't live up to expectations. Scallopine was mozzarella instead of Gorgonzola. Croquettes instead of Rigatoni. The meat wasn't seared, but rather boiled and tough. The authentic Italian pizza was topped with cheese instead of the ingredients as is usual in Italy. After paying, the door to the courtyard where we were sitting was closed without prior notice. We couldn't use the restroom. We won't be going back.

The food was unfortunately a huge disappointment. I ate there twice, perhaps because the first time was just a bad day. But both times, my dishes weren't worth the price. I can make them 10 times better at home; that's not the point of going to a restaurant. The meat in my cannelloni was old, so it was a gift. You couldn't taste any freshness at all. Too bad, I won't be back a third time.

Quaint restaurant with an original courtyard

We were there on a Saturday evening and got a table in the courtyard without a reservation. The ambiance in this old half-timbered house is very nice. The food and service were okay, but not great (you have to be lucky with the cellars). When we asked what kind of ham they used in the carbonara, we got the rude reply, "It's just ham." We asked if it was cooked ham, to which the waitress confirmed it was (it doesn't actually go into carbonara, but oh well...). We didn't order the carbonara, but something else.

Whether with friends or family, it's always worth a visit. Both the quaint attic and the charming courtyard offer a wonderful ambiance. The staff is always attentive, and children are also welcome.

I can't currently rate the food. So I'll go with the impression from my last visit in May 2025. Excellent food, super-friendly service, and a truly quiet spot on the first floor overlooking the small alleyway to Achternstrasse. Now, in July of the same year, it was bad. We entered the restaurant with our parents. Our "Guten Tag" and my "Moin" weren't returned. I headed for the stairs to the same lovely spot. Finally, the waitress started to move. The exact words: "Not upstairs, just the garden and downstairs." But the only seat available was right next to the counter. We immediately left the formerly pleasant restaurant. Therefore, I can't rate the food this time. It may still be excellent, but I'm still a customer, not a supplicant. What a shame.

Very tasty, beautiful backyard, nice restaurant

The courtyard is very lovingly designed. The appetizer platter was imaginative, large, and very tasty. The pizza and pasta were also very good.

Nice place, we got a table for two people without a reservation, the food was served quickly and was OK, not an amazing meal, the bill was paid by card, during this process I was given the choice of tipping 10, 20 or 30%, after brief eye contact there was also the option of not paying, I like to tip the staff, I have no problem with that, this cheeky comment and then from the boss, the absolute worst for me - never again.

Italian ambience in the heart of Oldenburg's city center. A piece of Italy. Well hidden in a small side street. Once there, you head straight out into the garden. Garden is an exaggeration; it's more of a covered courtyard enclosed by building walls. Very cozy and romantic, away from the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian zone. The food tastes much better, too.

Nice backyard to sit and eat… friendly service… food and drinks come quite quickly… price/performance is okay… wine costs too much for the quality… salad is also quite expensive for the portion… pizzas were okay… crust was good, but the salami was the cheapest product

Seldom eaten so badly. Friday lunchtime, it wasn't particularly crowded. It took 20 minutes to place the order and wait 20 minutes for drinks. The Rose I ordered was ok, but the bottle must have been open for a day longer. Meat dish ordered differently from the menu with fried potatoes. However, it came with fries. Fried potatoes were served later. The entire food was incredibly greasy and overcooked. The vegetables were dripping with fat. Fried potatoes were a ready-made product that was prepared in the deep fryer. Too bad!

This restaurant is a highlight for us every time we visit Oldenburg. The ambience is amazing, the staff is very friendly and attentive... and the Italian cuisine guarantees culinary delights.

Nice atmosphere and very good food. I actually know bruschetta differently, i.e. not with pizza dough. Otherwise we were all very satisfied. I personally liked the tiramisu. The service isn't great, but it's definitely okay. The sanitary facilities were clean.

Very friendly staff in a beautiful setting within an old building: the first thing my little son (nine years old) said was, "When will we be back here?" A good selection on the menu, especially with children's dishes, rounds out the offerings; I'm happy to tip here.

I can highly recommend it. Very tasty food, great atmosphere. The service was nice and polite could have been a little more present in the dining room.

It is an Italian restaurant with a special atmosphere. There is some room for improvement when it comes to service and food. The upper floor needs to be visited more often. Here you sometimes have to wait longer for service or go downstairs yourself. Bruschetta bread (here pizza dough) gets cold very quickly and unfortunately not crispy. Others can do that better. But main courses are always delicious.

Stopped in to test it, unfortunately I regretted it right from the start. Drinks were wrong 😑 and not completely filled, see picture. Salad dressing has the aftertaste of fish sauce. Main course was also not delivered as ordered. Calzone without mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 see picture. Macaroni with tomato sauce see picture. Every Italian/fake Italian can tell that this is not macaroni. We're not coming anymore

Today we were in Chianti Classico for the first time. Had ordered a table at 6 p.m. Everything went smoothly, even though we arrived a little early. The food was really okay and the service was quick and attentive. However, the bitter pill came shortly before half past seven. The service lady suddenly appeared at our table with the bill. We would have liked to have another espresso. It's no use if the boss looks around the corner and says that we should drink in peace. My husband had ordered and received a beer shortly before the bill was suddenly delivered. But of course you don't drink it up with pleasure when you realize that the table should be given away as quickly as possible. That really annoyed us!

Everything was great, very tasty food!

The food was great, but the reception was unfriendly. You just have to move the tables apart. The service staff was unfriendly and arrogant. They didn't need the barometer. There's a bucket of washing water next to the cloakroom. When you went out after dinner to have a smoke, you were rudely told that you hoped you'd come back in to pay. the food was delicious.

The store was advertised to us as barrier-free, which was not possible with 12 guests. Even though we were the first guests, the toilets were dirty. There was still toilet paper on the floor of the women's toilet and the men's toilet smelled very strongly of urine. The waitress smelled the drinks to find out which was apple spritzer and which was ginger ale. When we asked if she would take part in the barometer, we were assured that there was no need... All in all, it was a disappointment. The food was okay.

We had dinner there with the family. The service, food and ambience were very good. The staff is attentive, friendly and serves the guest quickly. Would love to come back.

A must if you're from Oldenburg... simply wonderful ambience, nice service and good Italian cuisine 🇮🇹

Clear recommendation to visit the Chianti Classico. The pizza tastes incredibly good, the base is not too thick, and the perfect amount of toppings. Service can be improved, but the atmosphere is great: rustic, cozy, crooked, ancient wooden beams. Great value for money.

The service seems unfriendly. The food is an absolute joke (example: canned mushrooms on an antipasti plate) and even the simplest dishes (I had a pasta with vegetables ) had no pizzazz. The price-performance ratio is therefore completely out of balance. The waitress also seems fundamentally uninterested and, despite everything being obvious, denies serving pre-mixed Aperol Spritz (in my opinion, pre-mixes are unfeasible for Italian restaurants). The shed, located in the middle of Oldenburg city, seems like a tourist trap to me. Really bad.

I have known Chianti Classico since I was little and for me this restaurant is the embodiment of Italian cuisine in the heart of Oldenburg. Delicious Italian food in a very special atmosphere (specialist restaurant, cozy interior, very friendly service). Personally, I'm not in the country for very long for work reasons, but when I am I come here regularly. It's almost a tradition 😁

A beautiful restaurant with very nice service

We were there for the first time today, it was super tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive and there was nothing else to complain about. We'd love to come back. I can't understand the bad reviews. And it's not okay to complain afterwards, why not clarify it right away? Unfortunately it's a bit hidden, which is why we never discovered it before.

The place is really bad now. My husband and I used to enjoy eating here, but recently the service and quality have completely declined. The service staff is really unfriendly and makes you feel unwelcome. There are broken placemats and dirty beer mats on the tables. The decoration was completely dusty, music from the charts was playing that didn't fit the atmosphere and there were fruit flies in the vinegar bottles. When the side salad was served, the plate was completely dirty and when I pointed this out, the reaction was rather annoyed. When I ordered a second drink, they forgot about it even though the place was almost empty. The store also smelled strongly of chlorine. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing at all. Prepared quickly and carelessly and quite expensive.

After two years I thought I would try the store again. For a long time the shop wasn't that bad, especially since it was very cozy and the food was okay. Two years ago I was disappointed. But today was the peak. The food, spaghetti, was just a mess, the sauce was indefinable and the absolute highlight: I was charged 2.5 euros for the little bit of parmesan, which is free at every other real Italian restaurant. Sorry guys, that's it, have fun

The host responds to the wishes of his guests when it comes to portion size. The courtyard is cozy. Scallopine Marsala very delicate with a generous portion of sauce.

We were there spontaneously, at short notice and late at night with a large group (10 people) and were still able to get a table in the beer garden. The service was great and the food was very tasty.

Very tasty food and a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, you sit upstairs a bit confused and the service staff don't come by regularly. So it's not particularly suitable for a lunch break with limited time. But always delicious.

Cozy restaurant, very tasty food and drinks. Unfortunately, the only waiter tried hard to serve the full restaurant. Therefore full marks for service despite long waiting times.

I had the Tagliatelle ai Gamberetti. The food was okay. Not exceptionally good, but not bad either. The ambience seemed a bit run down to me, especially the sanitary facilities. Not so inviting for me personally. I didn't find the service to be very friendly. We probably won't come back again.

It went like this… we were there for our first wedding anniversary because our friends recommended something “special” to us. Since I am Sicilian myself, it was a good idea. Unfortunately there was no trace of Sicily here. When the drinks came the waitress asked who was getting the beer. I have to say that I am very pregnant, which is clearly visible and she wasn't kidding, she just didn't see it, which I found very inattentive. Then I saw that there was dishwashing liquid residue in my drink because it was on the edge foamed. Also rather unfortunate. Food was ok. We ordered baked white cheese as a starter and a pasta plate for two people as the main course, which consisted of different types of pasta with the appropriate sauce. The pasta consisted of cream and more cream and a bit of bolognese. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything Italian here either. The waitress put the food in front of us without explaining what it was. I then asked. She answered annoyed, and I noticed that the waitress couldn't pronounce the dishes correctly and I found that so unpleasant and embarrassing. We still tipped five euros. The fact that she said thank you was almost too much. All in all, we felt very unwelcome and unfortunately we can't make any recommendations here, other than the prices are very cheap. But that also reflects the quality of the food.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. The fried potatoes were swimming in oil, the fries were wide pieces of potato, lukewarm and mushy, not baked properly and there were lots of chunks of potato peeling on them. The outside of the schnitzel was quite crispy, it cracked when chewed and the inside of the meat looked gray. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it. The tables were in a backyard and there were big cobwebs hanging everywhere. The prices don't match the food. Overpriced for the food.

Eating is always a matter of taste, in itself it is good. We had various dishes from lasagne, pizza to chicken breast with fries. The latter convinced us. Pizza not entirely convincing to our taste but decent. The store is hidden between shops but has a great courtyard. Since it is so hidden, most people must love the food there too, so no one gets lost there looking for something to enjoy

Nice restaurant with a beautiful courtyard. This is how you get out of the hustle and bustle. We had Jägerschnitzel. Food was freshly prepared. Service was very attentive. At the end there was a delicious schnapps on the house. We will be back definitely

The Chianti Classico is a rustic place. The restaurant extends over two floors, on the second of which everything feels crooked and crooked - as befits an old half-timbered house. It suits the restaurant. The service was very good, nice and interested in whether everything was really OK. The food was good. The salad, although it may seem a bit expensive, is very good and relatively huge. The price-performance ratio is right. The pizza was good.

Unfortunately, service wasn't friendly, so there was no tip.

Pepper steak (29.99) was very, very good, fresh peppercorns, tender meat, fried potatoes are fried potatoes, I would have liked a little more onion but it was still good. The orange was fresh and the parsley was super fresh, very, very good. I haven't eaten fresh parsley in a while. My girlfriend had a Pizza Funghi, the cheese was well drawn and the edge was crispy Together we had a garlic bread that was okay, it was missing some oil and garlic but it was good.

It was again super tasty. Great, friendly service! We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful building, cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Unfortunately there was no food at all... Beer was at room temperature, pasta definitely didn't taste homemade and the pizza was very salty and completely soggy on the bottom.

I gave each 5 stars because they are deserved in each category. There is still room for improvement, but God save us from perfection. The service is attentive, friendly and fast, the atmosphere is very cozy and unobtrusively charming, the food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable. I just like this restaurant, everyone is super nice

His best days are behind him. Food is rather unimaginative, prices are rather low, but overall nothing is convincing here. If there is no menu hanging in front of the restaurant, then you should be suspicious.

We were there on Saturday evening, didn't have a reservation and still got a table. (Thanks for that) The food was good, the service was nice and courteous despite the house being full, and the ambience was rustic but really nice. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer recommended. Service and food have deteriorated greatly and prices have increased. So everything around no longer fits together.

We had fish, pasta and salads. All are made to perfection. Service is above par and ambiance is great. Highly recommended
