We had dinner at Mount Lavinnia Restaurant in Nuremberg, a Sri Lankan gem. We ordered the black mutton curry and curry pork with red rice and vegetables. The taste was authentically Sri Lankan, truly delightful. The restaurant has a mild and pleasant ambiance, playing blues music, and the interior made us feel like we were in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

The slightly different restaurant with 3 different flavors of Ayuverdic, Ceylon and Thailand. It is friendly and comfortably furnished with a bit of a mix of styles. The service is very friendly and helpful with the selection. With a little time, you can read everything on the map. The levels of spiciness are particularly helpful. The meat (beef) in my dish was very well cooked, the curry was ok, but chosen incorrectly. Here the taste experience did not arrive as desired because something tasted almost bitter and smoky. But the experience was there and still good.

The kottu roti was super delicious and flavourful. The mango lassi however could have been better, it just had no taste and was watered down. The owner who served us was very kind and recommended the right thing. Will visit again :)

Wunderbares, delikates asiatisches Essen - sehr gut zubereitet, ausgezeichnet serviert. Auch das zweite Mal sehr zufrieden, lediglich der Mango-Lassi war nicht mehr so gut, wie letztes Jahr. Inhaber sehr freundlich!

Very good atmosphere, very friendly service. The owner is the one who assists you and speaks English perfectly. On the menu there are dishes from India, Thailand and Sri Lanka, all spectacular. It is not very expensive, it costs around €25-30 per person depending on what you want to eat and drink. Great selection of vegetarian dishes. I will definitely return.

We wanted to try something new and were pleasantly surprised. We tried the lunch menu and we wouldn't be disappointed. Clear recommendation!

Amazing good and very friendly staff. I really enjoyed my food here. Had the chicken kottu parotta which is authentic ans flavourful. The spice levels go from 1-6 and I can handle spice well and level 5 was proper spicy. Have level 6 at your own risk. 😜

Were at Mount Lavinia for the first time. Food was great! No pasta or pizza. Unusual. The level of spiciness is queried. If you want something special to eat, this is the place for you.

Went to Mount Lavinia with friends and were completely satisfied. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and offers enough space at the table. The menu is very diverse and the choice is therefore not easy. The spiciness of the dishes can be selected between 1-6, which is also carried out very well by the kitchen. The portions are large enough and are served very attractively. All dishes were extremely tasty, the individual spices were recognizable and used perfectly. The owner and the service were extremely friendly.p At the end, the bill is presented in a small wooden box that requires some skill to open - a fun end to a very successful evening. If you like good Asian food, this is the place for you! We are already looking forward to our next visit to Mount Lavinia.

I was already at Mount Lavinia around 1990 and was very impressed back then. It's all the more incomprehensible that it took so long until my next visit. The food was still delicious, and there are taste experiences that are absolutely unique. The owner is also a very nice and courteous person. If you want to have a different experience than the "usual" Asian restaurants, away from the mainstream, you can't go wrong. 100% recommended.

Really nice place to come to for some authentic Sri Lankan food. The decor is quite unique and the food is very tasty! The service is great and all the dishes you order, you can decide on your own spice level 1-6 (6 being the spiciest). All the dishes and curries were delicious and the variety is extensive. This was my first time trying this type of cuisine and I will definitely try it again in the future. Definitely recommend!

Very great restaurant. Great food, clean toilets, pleasant music. Great spices and if you like Ayurvedic food, this is the right place for you. Wellness for the tongue and the palate. Truly an experience that I would be happy to repeat.

Sadly, many things came frome the freezer. Also their so called roti is a cheekiness. (And by far worst bread i had in any indian restaurant!)

Leave the hustle and bustle at home, take some time with you and enjoy slowly! When Nürnberger came across it by chance, it certainly wasn't the last time. There were six of us and everyone was very satisfied. RECOMMENDATION!

Ich liebe die ceylonesische Küche, war das letzte mal vor Corona hier und freue mich, dass die Qualität des Essens kein bisschen nachgelassen hat. Top Empfehlung, schönes Ambiente, toller Service und einfach herausragendes essen!

Ein Abendessen im Mount Lavinia ist jedes Mal ein Highlight. Die Speisen sind sehr lecker, fein gewürzt und auf den Punkt gegart. Es gibt auch eine große Auswahl an unglaublich leckeren veganen und vegetarischen Speisen und es wird gerne auf besondere Wünsche eingegangen. Die Musik und das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und romantisch. Der Service ist unglaublich zuvorkommend, höflich und freundlich. Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Nürnberg :)

Sensationell! Tolles Essen, freundliche Bedienung und ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Wir hatten das Lamm mit Black-Curry. Eine echte Besonderheit! Alles super, sehr gerne wieder!!

Booked to go for evening meal. Lovely friendly service. Had samosas and lamb sate to start. Very nice. Mains were prawn curry and beef Malay. Both delicious. Spice level is high so recommend going lower than normal. Rice was delicious too. Good, smooth Chiliean Cabernet. Definitely recommend

Cozy interior, very sympathetic owner, we tried the vegetarian menu (22 euro) and it was a very nice surprise ! When in Nürnberg, will certainly visit again !

Wir hatten leider Pech. An unserem Abend war das Restaurant restlos gefüllt. In Kombination mit akutem Personalmangel waren die freundlichen Gastgeber trotz aller Bemühungen am Limit. Es kam zu enormem Wartezeiten, keinerlei Möglichkeit Getränke nachzubestellen (ohne dies direkt an der Bar zu tun) und Verwechslungen beim Hauptgang. In Kombination mit dem in die Jahre gekommenen Interior und der lauten Musik ein eher anstrengender Besuch, bei dem uns auch das Essen nicht überzeugen konnte. Verkochter Reis sowie kaum Gemüse bei den Fleisch- und Fischgerichten.

Endlich habe ich einen Ort in Deutschland gefunden, in dem ordentlich scharf gewürzt wird!

Das Restaurant war brechend voll u.a. mit großen Gruppen. Die Betreiber sind sehr nett und bemüht, doch akuter Personalmangel sorgte an diesem Abend leider für lange Wartezeiten. Insgesamt konnte uns das Restaurant weder kulinarisch, noch durch Ambiente überzeugen.

Very good Srilankan restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, original interieur. Tried Prawn soup, very fine. Green papaya salad: i know very very good thai superspicy version. My favorite. But this is totally different. Not spicy, warm, with coconut and herbs. Interessant. Still my favourite continues thai style. Srilankan black curry from daily offer is excellent. Spicy. roasted herbs, dark brown sauce and turkey breast cubes. With roasted basmati rice and interessant aromatic mango salad. Yes, this is what You "must eat".

Überraschend angenehmes Erlebnis - geradezu ein wow-Effekt, wieso haben wir das schon so viele Jahre ‚übersehen‘? Sehr angenehmer Service, der Mann macht seinen Job gerne und steht hinter allem was hier passiert - das spürt man und es schafft Vertrauen und gleich ein gewisses Wohlfühlen. Auch das essen (wir waren zu viert, alle haben mehrere Sachen bestellt und es wurde quer durch probiert) hat eigentlich alle positiv überrascht. Man kann sich den schärfegrad einstellen und es gibt ausdrücklich Auswahl für Veganer, Vegetarier, aber auch mehrere Fleisch und Fischgerichte. Man merkt auch, das die Speisen die Küche erst verlassen wenn ‚alles stimmt‘, also es wird sorgfältig angerichtet und schön präsentiert. Keinesfalls aufgedonnert, nicht ‚schick gemacht‘, sondern gut gekocht und mit dem Anspruch serviert, das der Gart ein schönes Erlebnis haben möge, also Dinge werden getrennt voneinander serviert und Teller sind vorgewärmt. Es geht mehr um den Geschmack der speisen als um schickes aussehen, dafür wird halt ehrlich gekocht. Wir waren jedenfalls alle 4 ganz angetan. Preise sind absolut angemessen.

Schönes Ambiente und die Bedienung war sehr nett. Er hat jeden einzelnen von uns gefragt wie scharf wir das Essen haben wollen und uns die Schärfe Skala, die von 1 bis 6 geht erklärt. Das hat dann auch super funktioniert, das Essen war nicht zu scharf. Es gibt eine ziemlich große Speisekarte, das Lamm mit schwarzem Curry fand ich besonders gut. Ich habe eine Mango Schorle und einen Lassi getrunken, die waren super lecker.

Essen ist gut, Preis etwas hoch.

Konobar je zaboravio jednu narudžbu, nakon što smo čekali zaboravljeno jelo, došla je tvrda i neukusna piletina. Lijepo i tradicionalno uređen restoran.

Unglaublich gutes Essen! Man sollte ein wenig Zeit mitbringen aber dafür schmeckt alles unglaublich frisch. Die Schärfe zwischen 1 - 6 darf man selbst bestimmen. Generell auch ein sehr nettes Personal.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, freundliche Bedienung, sehr schmackhafte authentische Gerichte mit selbst gewähltem Schärfegrad. Wir hatten Schwertfisch und Lamm. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Restaurant ist dem Motto seiner Speisekarte auch bei der Dekoration treu geblieben. Liebevoll eingereicht, toller Service (hier bedient noch der Chef selbst) der sich auch die Zeit nimmt, einen Plausch mit einem abzuhalten. Essen ist einfach mega lecker, egal ob mit Fleisch, vegetarisch oder die veganen Gerichte. Hier kann man nichts verkehrt machen. Wir können es nur bestens empfehlen!

Wir hatten mit 3 Personen das vegetarische Menu. Geschmacklich sehr gut. Allerdings dauert es sehr lange. Reserviert auf 19:30h, ca. 20:30h Vorspeise, ca. 21:00 das Hauptmenu, das passt nicht so zu der Preisliga, mit 90€ für 3 Personen eher höherpreisig, Portionen ok, aber nicht üppig. Preis-Leistung ok, allerdings woanders besser. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne.
