Großartiges Essen, super Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten, und man kann es so scharf machen, wie man möchte, fantastisches Mango-Zeug dort und ziemlich nette Bluesmusik 🎵 Alles gut!

Meine Frau und ich waren zwei Tage in Nürnberg und haben an beiden Tagen im Mount Lavinia zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war himmlisch und unglaublich schmackhaft, und der Service war fantastisch. Man kann den Schärfegrad von eins bis sechs wählen, je nachdem, wie scharf man es mag. Wir leben in Australien und sind seit einem Monat auf Deutschlandreise und hatten große Lust auf sri-lankisches Essen. Das Mount Lavinia war das einzige Restaurant in Deutschland, in dem wir authentische sri-lankische Küche gefunden haben. Wenn Sie in Nürnberg sri-lankisches Essen suchen, sind Sie hier genau richtig.

Super süßes Restaurant in mitten der Nürnberger Innenstadt. Das Essen war lecker, hätte jedoch vom Geschmack her noch intensiver sein können. Die Sitzgelegenheiten waren gemütlich, jedoch hatten wir einen Tisch direkt an der Bar, der ein wenig dunkel und ungemütlich war. Der Service war sehr freundlich! Das Essen war im vergleich zu dem, was man bekommen hat, eher günstig.

Das Essen war super! Allerdings, wurden wir immer wieder etwas ungeschickt angerempelt, da die Bedienung über das Fenster die Kunden im Freien bedient hat! Die Musik war viel zu laut!

Wir waren während unseres Aufenthaltes in Nürnberg an zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen beim Essen, da wir immer wieder begeistert von dieser Küche sind. Wir bekommen seit Jahren kontinuierlich die gleich hervorragende Qualität mit ausgesucht außergewöhnlichen Gerichten. Der Chef ist immer gut drauf, sehr freundlich, berät gerne. Die Atmosphäre ist ohnehin super, und wir kommen gerne wieder. Unbedingte Empfehlung.

Tolle Küche, authentisch und die Appetit auf mehr macht. Dabei sind wirklich ungewöhnliche Gerichte auf der Karte. Sri Lanka pur. Ganz besonders in Erinnerung bleibt und aber der Gastgeber, Shawn, der sich gerne mit einem unterhält und seine klugen Gedanken nehmen wir gerne mit nach Hause.

Das Mount Lavinia ist ein echtes Kleinod. Wer authentische Gerichte aus Sri Lanka essen möchte, ist hier goldrichtig. Wir waren sehr begeistert, insbesondere vom Maniok Curry. Neben dem guten Essen ist besonders die Freundlichkeit des Inhabers hervorzuheben, der sich immer Zeit für jeden Gast nimmt und auch einem Small Talk nicht abgeneigt ist. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn in Nürnberg sind 😃

Super Essen in schönem Lokal mit für uns toller Rockmusik

Wir waren letzte Woche zum ersten Mal in diesem Srilankese Lokal zu Essen und total begeistert. Hier wird authenische Küche serviert, wie man sie sich nicht besser vorstellen kann. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, das Essen kam schnell und schmeckte fantastisch. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Pappadams und Samosas, als Hauptgerichte zwei verschiedene Lammcurrys (mittelscharf) einmal mit rotem Reis, einmal mit normalem Reis und als Dessert Mango mit Vanilleeis und Cointreau, dazu arabischen Kaffee mit Kardamon und Salz. Es war alles wohlabrundet und wir waren angenehm satt. Der Eigentümer, ein Srilankese erzählte uns viel über sein Lokal, das nächstes Jahr seit 40 Jahren besteht. Das Ambiente ist sehr geschmackvoll und in warmen Tönen gehalten. Das Restaurant ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp und sehr zu empfehlen.

Alles war perfekt, das Essen einfach köstlich und das Restaurant sehr gemütlich. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Ein echtes Highlight in Nürnberg! 🌶️ Das Mount Lavinia überzeugt mit authentischer sri-lankischer Küche, die man so selten findet. Die Gewürze sind perfekt abgestimmt – intensiv, aber nie überladen. Besonders die Currys und ayurvedischen Gerichte sind geschmacklich auf Top-Niveau. Der Service ist herzlich und aufmerksam, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Dazu kommt eine besondere Atmosphäre mit viel Liebe zum Detail – fast wie ein kleiner Kurzurlaub. Wer etwas anderes als Standard-Asiatisch sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Klare Empfehlung – wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Absolut empfehlenswert! Selten so gut sri-lankisch gegessen. Die Gerichte waren unglaublich aromatisch, perfekt gewürzt und sehr authentisch. Immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Sehr gute Küche. Manchmal lange Wartezeiten. Man könnte ein bisschen die Inneneinrichtung auf Vordermann bringen und modernisieren. Aber im Großen und Ganzen sehr besonderes und leckeres Restaurant.

Das Essen war sehr lecker der Service lässt allerdings zu wünschen übrig. Wir mussten sehr lange warten bis uns die Bedienung beachtet hat, da sie die ganze zeit mit einem anderen Kunden gesprochen hat und uns keinerlei Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt hat. Wir wollten eigentlich noch Nachtisch bestellen, haben es aber dann gelassen um nicht noch länger warten zu müssen. Leider hat uns dieses Verhalten ein bisschen das Erlebnis versaut obwohl das Essen sehr lecker war.

Solides Restaurant mit gutem Essen – geschmacklich wirklich überzeugend. Der Service ist freundlich und bemüht, wirkt aber teilweise etwas unterbesetzt, wodurch es zu längeren Wartezeiten (z. B. bei Getränken) kommen kann. Das Essen selbst kommt dafür meist recht schnell. Das Ambiente ist angenehm, könnte aber an einigen Stellen ein kleines Update vertragen. Insgesamt gut, mit Potenzial nach oben.

Ein recht nettes Lokal mit gutem Essen, aber der Service war unterirdisch. Der Kellner behandelte uns den ganzen Abend, als ob wir ihm etwas schuldeten.

Super leckeres Essen und sehr freundliche und offene Service. Die Schärfe bei einigen Gerichten (4+) trägt auch nicht lange nach, noch beim bezahlvorgang war das schärfegefühl wieder verschwunden was für die gute Qualität der Zutaten und Zubereitung spricht 👌

Tolle Kräuter und Gewürz Erfahrung

Sehr leckeres Essen, wählbar in 6 Schärfegraden. Beim Service gibt's nen Stern Abzug, aber auch nur weil die Aufnahme der Bestellung doch sehr lang gedauert hat. Bringt Zeit mit und der Besuch lohnt sich in jedem Fall.

Hühnchen mit Reis gegessen. War wunderbar zart und würzig. Dazu Tamarindensaft, war ein Experiment, hat sich aber gelohnt. Es ist sehr stilvoll und gemütlich dort mit einen sehr netten Ober. Musik war auch klasse : Blues und Rock. Der Laden ist eine absolute Empfehlung! Übrigens hat das Essen, der Saft und ein Glas Wasser 23,50 Euro gekostet. Voll in Ordnung.

Es war mein erster Besuch in diesem Restaurant in Nürnberg, und ich muss sagen, dass ich, obwohl ich anfangs skeptisch war, schnell überzeugt war. Die Atmosphäre war angenehm, die Hintergrundmusik hatte die richtige Lautstärke, und vor allem war sie geschmackvoll. Das Gericht war köstlich. Ein Erlebnis, das man gerne wiederholen möchte.

Gutes ceylonesisches Essen. Wir haben uns mehrere Varietäten bestellst um so viele Speisen wie möglich auszuprobieren. Es war gut, hat uns aber nicht vom Hocker gehauen, wobei wir bisher keine Vergleichsmöglichkeit hatten. Freundlicher Service und saubere sanitäre Anlagen im Keller.

Absolute Herzensempfehlung 💜 Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und herzlich. Schon beim Betreten spürt man die besondere Atmosphäre. Absolutely beautiful, the owner is incredibly friendly and showed us his tortoises, and he painted all the pictures in the restaurant himself. The Ayurvedic food was incredibly delicious. The music was very pleasant. I'm a huge fan and would definitely come back.

A wonderful meal with its own unique flavors. Somewhat similar to Indian, yet somehow not. I was particularly blown away by the lamb skewers as a starter. The meat was incredibly tender, grilled to perfection, and seasoned to perfection. An absolute delight. My main course of beef was also delicious. And all this in a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. On this particular weekday, the owner himself was serving. Now I understand why this restaurant has been around since 1987. Quality prevails in the long run! I'll be back!!!

Amazing food. If you're stressed and want ready-made meals, this isn't the place for you. Fresh and the best food around. Whenever I'm near Nuremberg for work, I come here. Absolutely recommended! A year later, and another excellent meal. It remains my top recommendation for Nuremberg.

A charming, small restaurant with impressive cuisine. The Sri Lankan specialties were absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients were used, and the prices were reasonable. Because the owner is the sole server, service can be a little slow at times, but it's all within acceptable limits. Well worth a visit!

It was a very nice Experience. And had sri lankan authentic food 🥘 and test was above our expectations and i think they used srilankan spicy not Indian which gives rich taste 😝 . Wheat-free A preliminary email inquiry was answered kindly. All Ayurvedic (vegetarian-vegan) dishes (numbers 18, 19, 20, and 21 on the menu), as well as all meat and fish dishes, are wheat-free. Only spices and coconut milk are used. Once we arrived, however, we opted for number 31, Kangoroo Hot Pot in peanut sauce. I didn't have a reaction, so I can recommend this dish accordingly. I also highly recommend the good, strong espresso; it clears your stomach so you can move again. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful.

As soon as we entered, we received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our seats. The service was exceptionally warm and accommodating, and very authentic. I can't think of a more fitting description for the food: I've rarely eaten so incredibly well. The food was prepared quickly, and each of the four people asked for their individual spice level. It was perfect for each of us. In terms of taste, quantity, and spiciness. The location itself is stunningly beautiful, cozy, and pleasant. Thank you so much for this magnificent dinner. I've been here countless times, but today is my first time writing a review. Mount Lavinia has become a true favorite for me. The terrace, with its many plants and turtles, has something very special about it. In the evening, when the lights are on, it creates an atmosphere that's hard to find anywhere else in Nuremberg. Inside, you'll find soft music, warm colors, and art on the walls. Everything feels calm, loving, and thoughtful. The food is a delight every time. Full of flavor, freshly prepared, and cooked with noticeable care. The chef is open and friendly, as is his son. You immediately feel that there's family behind it. A place that stays with you. And one you'll always enjoy returning to :)
