It was very loud, was always refilled abundantly

I can recommend it; it's very tasty and friendly. I've known this place for several years. I always enjoy coming back.

Variety was missing. Price today differs from 2 weeks ago. We were over charged 2 weeks ago and the treatment we got wasn't pleasant. 3 adults charged €68 and today, 2 adults charged €34. Why such difference in price? Are these guys pranking customers or is the racist card at work even in Germany? Restaurant management should please get a fixed price and display same so everyone knows what's expected of them.

It was always good, actually, but unfortunately, the food in the display area wasn't warm anymore. The preparation at the fresh food counter wasn't impressive either. The line at the waffle iron was extremely long, so I couldn't eat any more. I was politely reminded to pay between 4:52 PM and 5:00 PM, otherwise the price would increase by €5. There was also a notice on the side warning that anyone who leaves an unfilled plate will be fined €5. Ultimately, two people choked down the food because it was cold, even though it came from the display, and they had stomach aches the whole evening. We find this notice about the practice very repulsive. We'll therefore prefer to go somewhere else soon.

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at Mongu Live and want to share it so others don't find themselves in a similar situation. I had reserved a table in advance for a party with about 30 people. I had previously communicated in detail with the restaurant about the time, number of guests, room, and price for the agreed-upon menu. Everything seemed clear and organized—but when we arrived, everything was completely different. Unprofessional Service: From management to staff—everyone seemed unprofessional. We were constantly being watched and told not to leave any food, even though we ate very well and left no leftovers. As a guest, we felt disrespected. The food was constantly late: We had to wait a very long time for hot food to be served. This dragged on throughout the entire evening. Conclusion: This was by far the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. The lack of professionalism, irresponsible behavior, and disrespect for guests are absolutely unacceptable. I definitely won't be returning and can only recommend that everyone think carefully about whether they want to make a reservation at Mongu Live.

Unfortunately, these days, the food at the buffet isn't really hot, and the selection on offer isn't as great as it used to be...and, quite frankly, it's far too expensive. Then opt for something from the menu.

Absolutely unfair to people who, with ID, have extremely small stomachs, can only eat very little, but still crave some variety. Absolutely no discounts allowed. The boss himself made the decision. The excuse is that other people would take advantage. But he doesn't differentiate between being sick and not wanting to eat much.

It was my first and last time at this place. I've never had such a bad meal at an Asian buffet. The selection was very poor for the price. The fried meat tasted of old, stale fat, or it had been thrown into a fryer that was too cold. The service was very unfriendly. The restrooms reeked of urine, worse than at some train stations. Once and never again.

We were very satisfied and will come again.

After our regular Chinese restaurant was sorely disappointing last time, we tried Mongu Live on Saturday. A very large selection of meat and fish awaited us. There was also a separate room for the live grill ingredients. Plus a separate dessert cart. Only the caramelized meat wasn't great; the rest was fresh and delicious. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, as well as on the street. Mongu Live didn't see us last today... Update 06/20: After a long break, we were able to enjoy Mongu Live again. Unfortunately, many flies spoiled the buffet for a perfect experience. Points deducted... Update 12/22: New Year's Eve - Lunch buffet, great again, now there's a little robot that brings the food (from the grill) to the guests. Unfortunately, there's no variety, always the same dishes - unfortunately. Update 06/25 - Dinner in the evening with a chocolate fountain and a Mongolian grill with venison for €21 per person, top quality again!

The food has improved a lot. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good for a while, but now it's really great again. The staff was, as always, very friendly. They were also very friendly to our two children, ages 2 and 5. Simply fantastic! The children's play area has unfortunately suffered a lot. But that's probably due to the guests. The owners can't always renovate everything when customers think they can't control their children. But otherwise, as always, it's very tasty and the price is perfectly reasonable!

Not fulfull the expectation but food was amazing

Mongu Live impresses with its pleasant, cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. The Chinese buffet is reasonably priced, yet surprisingly plentiful and consistently high in quality. There's also plenty to suit guests with special needs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, allowing for barrier-free access. Ample parking is available directly in front of the restaurant. On holidays, the restaurant is busy, but never overcrowded—you'll always find a seat. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who appreciates good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

At 21:40 the shop is almost closed although there is no special description on the internet that the kitchen closes at 22:00 and the opening hours are stated until 23:00

The buffet is varied and delicious. The quality is great. The employees are friendly. Price-performance fits. If you are too close to the drinks bar it will be loud.

Disaster! Preferably give zero stars! Didn't want to order buffet, but a la menu. The staff wasn't thrilled. Starter spring rolls...came from the frozen package. Soup was edible. That was the best part of the evening. Both main courses were of poor quality, prepared with a sauce, meat wobbly, far too fatty, no taste, lukewarm, uniform. When asked about soy sauce and sambal oil, an incredulous look! Then came very reluctantly. Finally, the question was whether everything was OK. 80 percent of the food left... we said no, said what wasn't true, but instead of responding to it we just giggled stupidly. This answer was not desired! I can't comment on the buffet. The store will never see me again, there are 1000s of other alternatives that offer quality and great service!

Unfortunately the food and the selection are getting worse and worse. I've been coming for years now and I have to say that Chinese is falling by the wayside. For me, potato gratin, tiramisu, churros, etc. don't belong in a Chinese selection. The staff is very friendly. The taste falls by the wayside. Unfortunately, the plates are not preheated and the food gets cold quickly. Too bad!

Good Chinese buffet. The selection covers the usual buffet offerings and is always refilled. Only the calamari lay a little longer and was slightly chewy. The dessert selection also offers something for every taste. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. We were asked several times if everything was okay. The restaurant is harmoniously furnished and you immediately feel at home. This is also a good place to eat with larger groups.

A pleasant restaurant for those who want to eat well and love Chinese cuisine. The service is fast despite the large number of customers. The staff is attentive, the waiters bring orders quickly. My family had a lovely time. Thank you to everyone who works at Mongu Live.

We were there at 8 p.m. Unfortunately, if you don't come during rush hour, the food will be cold and not refilled properly. It wasn't the first time that this happened either. Unfortunately I don't think that's possible! Too bad...

We are thrilled and really enjoy eating here. The selection is plentiful, so that it doesn't get cold too quickly or seem overloaded, a pleasant amount is always prepared fresh. The children feel comfortable in the play area and if anything is damaged it is quickly repaired. The staff are always nice and friendly.

I've been there twice, the first time for my son's birthday on February 14th, and the food was pretty tasty... and two days ago I was there for a business lunch, and I saw hair in the rice and then also in the chocolate, so I couldn't eat it.

Rich buffet, fresh, hot and delicious. What we liked best was the service. Very friendly and attentive. There was even a little birthday present. The robot that served the freshly prepared food to the tables or sang a birthday song was funny. We'd love to come back.

We had reservations for 7 p.m. Just like 30 other people. Unfortunately, no one wrote down the reservations in advance. All tables were occupied and so those waiting stood in the entrance area and were kept put off. We left after 20 minutes.

The selection of dishes is huge, from choosing and freshly prepared to ready-made Buffet and a wide range of sweet dishes. Even fresh Belgian waffles. Happy to recommend.

I used to really like this restaurant but now we've come and there's no more dessert. We let us know but the employee said “I don’t know anything”. When we came here we wanted to be full for the money we paid. But we weren't full at all. If things continue like this, we won't be coming here any more soon.

Good buffet, delicious food, nice staff

Very good all you can eat buffet, it has many options and food is delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel the vibe of Chinese culture. I recommend! However sometimes there are very nice waiters and other times there are very rude ones.

I visit this restaurant regularly, the food is really good, but it takes a while to get refilled, so some things are cold when there are only leftovers. The plates are quickly cleared away as soon as you have finished eating them. Price/performance is right and children can also have fun in the games corner.

Typical, loveless mass processing. Bayer is happy about the Talcid paragraph ... inexplicable how you can find something like that. Atmosphere must be redefined in the Duden. P.S.: Even the 6 year old couldn't do anything with the "sweet bombs" - remarkable.

We won't go there anymore. My wife had food poisoning. They gave me something to drink, but non-carbonated. I don't recommend it.

Stinky toilets, you could smell it all the way to the food counter, sticky floor, food was mediocre, plates not really clean, sticky and dirty chairs, leftover food all over the floor. Absolute disappointment, never again 👎🏻

We were there on Sunday and were impressed by the atmosphere from the first moment. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a very nice table for 4 people. The service was very nice and attentive. All the food we had was very tasty, hot and fresh. Overall, the four of us agree that we will eat here more often in the future, especially since the price for the buffet is very good. We're looking forward to being there again on New Year's Eve.

It was very unpleasant. Food was cheap. Only waitress always stared at me when she walked past 😅thought it was because I'm dark-skinned but I don't want to be hasty 😉. The food is varied and okay. Atmosphere is a big word, more like a train station hall. If you don't know what you want, then you're in good hands.

Typical Chinese with a rich buffet and Mongolian grill. On Saturdays it's worth pre-ordering (we were there with 6 people, but we would probably have gotten a table even without pre-ordering because the shop is quite large). Large parking lot in front of the restaurant, but it is still too small, as it turned out when the restaurant was full. All in all, I would go there again - maybe at lunchtime if the opportunity arises.

Our lunch at the Mongu Live restaurant was a thoroughly successful experience. We visited the restaurant on a Friday, lured by the tempting buffet menu served from 12pm to 2:30pm. Despite our late arrival at 1:45 p.m., we were warmly welcomed at the entrance. The half-full restaurant gave us the opportunity to freely choose our table. The service was prompt and attentive – as soon as we were seated we were asked what drinks we wanted. The buffet far exceeded our expectations. Despite the advanced time, we found a rich selection of Chinese specialties, complemented by a variety of vegetables and some 'European' salads. The quality of the food was excellent and tasted fabulous. We were particularly impressed by the attention of the staff. Shortly before the buffet closed, we were kindly reminded to get dessert, which turned out to be just as delicious. In summary, the Mongu Live restaurant impresses with moderate prices, a varied and tasty buffet and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We can highly recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable lunch outing.

Quite ok. Only some dishes are very salty.

Flavor enhancer. The food tastes excessively artificial and, with the exception of the potato gratin, cannot be enjoyed. The little traveling cat doesn't make up for that either. Service was annoyed. Ambiance is ok. Parking too. Not again.

Update after around 7 years on September 22nd, 2024: It was okay, even if everything was pretty bland at lunchtime today. Fries weren't cooked properly, sesame balls were tough and mushy, the buffet wasn't refilled in a timely manner, labels didn't fit. Maybe it's better in the evening?! 2017: We were there for the first time today and were very excited. We haven't felt this comfortable in a long time. Class!

A really nice, bright and well-divided restaurant with a lot to choose from on the menu or even better at the buffet. It is the largest in all of Mönchengladbach with Asian cuisine. On the weekend you should book in advance if you want a table. There is a buffet until 10 p.m Really large parking lot with outside area so I can only recommend it and I've been to many Asian restaurants...

I always like to go to Mongulive for the lunch buffet. :)

At the first table in the middle of the restaurant with the most pleasant climate, the waitresses didn't notice me while they were... B. were busy with stocking up or doing nothing. After using the toilet, I successfully chose a table almost next to the cash register. The selection of Chinese dishes is small compared to fries etc. The taste is acceptable. A hotspot for old pensioners who want to have a cheap lunch with the usual side effects that I find unpleasant. It was my first and last visit there.

Somewhat acceptable, but the dishes are not fresh and in terms of cleanliness it is not completely clean, but overall it is acceptable for the price.

The waitresses aren't exactly friendly and seem very listless or in a bad mood. Were there for the fourth time now, and always the same, no trace of service. My daughter once spilled the orange juice and we had to ask three times for a cloth; they never even had the idea to bring us a new one. The last time the famous “coffee machine is broken” trick was used again and again. I once worked as a waiter myself and my colleague at the bar wanted me to always tell the guests in the evening if they ordered coffee that the machine was broken so that the guests wouldn't stay longer after a pick-me-up and he could clean the machine and it will end sooner. I could see the same impudent “sorry, the machine is broken” grin on her lips as my colleague back then. When I asked the other waitress if the coffee machine was broken, she said coldly, "No, we also have 2 machines" I don't understand why they work there if they don't feel like it. As a waiter or waitress, you should at least give your guests a nice evening. You shouldn't be surprised about poor tips. We don't feel like coming again.

We had dinner last night and really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh and hot. There was a large selection of dishes and dessert was great. After two grilled plates and two plates from the buffet, everyone was satisfied. I can only recommend it! In addition, everyone was friendly and nice, and service was very satisfactory. At the reception we were greeted by a very friendly and sweet man.

A huge selection, buffet, fish/meat can be left raw on a plate with a sauce to the chef. It is then freshly prepared and brought to the table by a robot. Here you have to be careful not to eat too much.

Well, ...we were there on Sunday at 8:30 p.m., the main buffet was still quite well stocked and relatively clean. But the selection has been reduced Although this is the case with this Chinese guy Not so good with the cleanliness... the floor was sticky and the buffet for dessert looked like pigs had walked over it... there was melted ice cream on the window of the ice chest... and it wasn't wiped clean either... the chocolate fountain looked disgusting.. old wooden sticks, spilled chocolate and Other food leftovers (old banana pieces) were lying around...hmmmm... There were also waffles that had apparently been sitting there for hours heated plate. There were bowls next to it, one of which was completely empty and stood there covered in dirt when asked would it be refilled again? The waitress said... no, not today... there was a lot going on and... then everything is gone...ah ha... But you pay the same as the guests who come at 6 p.m.... Well, I can't really recommend this place.. but must do justice to the guests who have had similar experiences...
