Due to our short trip to Munich, we went here for dinner twice in the evening. The cuisine is exceptionally good, the service is excellent! We were absolutely thrilled and would love to come back when we head towards Munich again. :-)

Delicious food and fast service for an affordable price.

Card payment not possible? That's been going on for months... but the highlight was the gyro, which obviously wasn't cooked through. You could see occasional pink/red pieces of gyros. No apology or compensation, was billed in full..

Our favorite Greek restaurant in Germering for many, many years. We also still know the old location on Münchner Straße. The food is always good and the team is friendly and attentive.

Yesterday, July 6th, 2024, we arrived there at short notice by car from Tollwood in Munich, as a thunderstorm forced us to end our stay there. Not far from A 96, very easy to find with google maps. First impression of the Mondo was very good. Lots of outdoor seating covered with an awning. Parking space was a bit tight, but we still got one right in front of the restaurant. Reception by staff very politely, when we pointed out, we didn't have a reservation, no problem, how many people, (4) whether we wanted to eat outside or inside. Due to the weather, we decided to stay indoors. Got a very nice table. Classically modern furnishings, no pseudo-Greek image. Staff very attentive, guess family business. Polite note in advance that only cash payment is possible. If this is always the case, please switch to standard card payment options. Obligatory ouzo was there immediately. Drinks order was taken quickly and delivered promptly. Extensive menu. Priced in the usual segment. Sharing the starters was easy. The statement was: "No problem, let's put 4 plates there, starters in the middle, then we can share. But leave room for dessert when eating." The time window between ordering food and applying it is very pleasant. The dolmades were large at 4 pieces, crunchy and very tasty. Likewise fried zucchini. Plus garlic and pita bread. The main course was calamari and gyros, other souflaki with gyros and souflaki with liver and rice with tomatoes, salad included. Plenty of meat on the plate, rice not overcooked, mushy and sticky, but with a bite. Above all, the entire meal came in one sitting and was really hot. Probably the senior boss? came to us and inquired about our satisfaction and about the food. Reordering drinks was requested discreetly and unobtrusively by the staff and did not have to be requested separately. Staff always kept an eye on the guests. Dessert was 1 portion for every 2 people, one panna cotta with strawberries and strawberry mirror and one galaktoboureko, the traditional semolina casserole. Homemade as the boss emphasized. Simply sin, simply good. In terms of portion size, the two of us made better decisions after the main course. ;-) Finally, a round of ouzo or optionally non-alcoholic. Conclusion: Everyone enjoyed it fantastically. Location very appealing, staff totally polite, quick, careful, accommodating. Food, the main review point, is very tasty. The fact that the TV was on in the corner on the ceiling during the European Championships wasn't a problem at all, as there was no sound on. Also not a huge picture area. After the game ended, TV was turned off immediately. Top. This meant that those interested in football could take a look at it and there was no annoying hectic cell phone watching live at the tables. When we're back in Munich, we'll make sure we can find a place to eat there on the way home. As mentioned, card payment options should be standard in the future. We have eaten in this restaurant several times and it was always good but also a bit more expensive than other Greek restaurants. Last week we ate there again after a long break and were very disappointed. My wife ordered mousaka, which looked like it had been reheated a few times and was actually nothing more than a tasteless floppy porridge. We pointed this out to the waiter, then two other people came over and asked what was wrong and then left with a shrug and no comment. I had the Helena plate. It was okay so far, but also tasteless. The last time we ate at Mondo was about 9 months ago and the food was much better back then. Conclusion: You can get Greek food much better elsewhere in Germering and only a few hundred meters away from the Mondo.

Ich war gestern das erste mal auf Empfehlung hin in diesem "Restaurant" Das Essen war klein und mickrig und die Ober auch nicht gerade freundlich. Ganz zu schweigen von der schrecklichen Lage. Nach dem Essen wollte ich mit meinem Hund (wo soll ich den denn lassen) kurz auf die Toilette, was mir aber verboten wurde. Mit Hund geht das gar nicht ! Ich habe schon anfangs gemerkt, dass hier Hunde nicht besonders willkommen sind. Mir wurde ein Platz am äußersten Eck zugwiesen. Ein dementsprechendes Schild "Hunde verboten etc." hätte hier im Vorfeld einiges geregelt. Fazit: Nie mehr dieses Restaurant. Es ist kein Aushängeschild für Germering. Zum Glück wohne ich in München !

Went there for the first time today. The waitresses were super friendly and the food was delicious. Our two children were also thrilled. Lovely again.

Good ouzo before after dinner from the house. The food was good without being shiny. The tzatziki was freshly made. Only the side salad could use a little more finesse. Inconspicuous on the outside and very friendly and clean on the inside. A Greek that you can highly recommend. Simply because the service puts you in a good mood.

We go there often and enjoy coming. The food is always delicious and the waitresses are very nice. What does have a negative aftertaste, however, is the billing. Only cash payment for a long time. Today we received a receipt that said: “Total €35, received €0, refund €35”.

I've been to some good Greek restaurants. This is definitely one of my personal top 3. The food is excellent, the service is attentive but not intrusive. The only point of criticism: payment is only possible in cash. We'd love to come back!

Unglaublich herzliche Bedienung vom Empfang bis zum Abschied. Alle von uns bestellten Speisen waren ausgezeichnet und die Portionen sehr groß: Wir fühlten uns wirklich willkommen... Viel besser geht es nicht!

Have been there for lunch for a long time. The staff always friendly and accommodating. Food came quickly and as always it tasted good.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, the Greek charm surrounds you, including the welcome ouzo. 😃 The service was very friendly and the restaurant was very bright and modern. To eat: As a starter we had the garlic pita and the mixed warm starter platter. Both really delicious. As a main course we had the breaded Metaxa schnitzel with fries: unfortunately the schnitzel wasn't particularly good. It had that typical breading, which, together with the shape and consistency of the meat, was a bit reminiscent of the ready-made schnitzels from the supermarket. Unfortunately, the Metaxa sauce was very creamy and hardly reminiscent of a typical Metaxa sauce. My husband had the gratinated gyros with Metaxa sauce as his main course. The meat was super tender and very tasty. Unfortunately, the only known problem here was the sauce. For dessert we had the Galaktobureko (puff pastry cake with vanilla ice cream). It was incredibly delicious and prepared with so much love. I really enjoyed it with cinnamon and (probably) homemade candied orange peel. My conclusion: I would definitely go to the restaurant again. However, I would (unfortunately) not order a dish with Metaxa sauce again. However, that is a matter of taste.

The best Greek in Germering. Helena Platte is highly recommended. We also like to order here for family celebrations and set up a buffet at home. It's always a celebration and the food is great. Of course, ouzo is always included for free. Friendly staff, fair prices, nice ambience, good food. What more do you want?

Wir waren schon mehrmals im Mondo zum essen. Es hat immer alles gepasst. Dieses Mal fühlten wir uns allerdings etwas gehetzt. Wir bekamen einen Slot von 90 Minuten. Wenn das Restaurant voll gewesen wäre, hätten wir es auch verstanden. Als wir gingen waren immer noch viele Tische frei das haben wir nicht verstanden. Wir werden es noch einmal versuchen, da das Essen wirklich gut ist. Achtung, es scheint wohl nur noch Barzahlung zu geben.

Delicious food and good service!

We have been going to Mondo regularly several times a year for more than 20 years - even at the old location on Münchner Straße. The food is always absolutely delicious and the service is really friendly. And of course there is also the obligatory ouzo. I personally always look forward to the Greek farmer's salad, which you can alternatively choose as a side salad. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Great restaurant, always very busy. We actually always get the food to go. The sizes are absolutely sufficient, you have the feeling that it won't get any smaller. You can eat the rest the next day and look forward to it. The waitresses are always very friendly. Ordering food is always very quick. When you pick it up, you immediately notice the great ambience and the fact that the restaurant is always fully booked. Keep it up! The only small point of criticism is the lack of card payment :-) That would be nice if it worked again :-)

Sehr gutes Restaurant. Ich gehe hier Regelmäßig essen und wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Sehr gutes und Aufmerksames Personal. Alle äußerst freundlich und witzig. Das Restaurant ist gross, ich reserviere gern trotzdem. I'm so er auch Außenbereich zum Essen verfügbar. Gegenüber ist direkt win Hotel welches einen entspannten Abend garantiert wenn man dort nächtigt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist Top. Die Portionen sind Üppig und es passt entweder noch eine vor oder eine Nachspeise dazu, ansonsten lieber nur Hauptgericht bestellen und sehen wie viel Hunger man noch hat. Salat gibt es meist kostenfrei dazu.

Begrüßung top, Service top und essen lecker. Wir gehen gerne dort hin oder bestellen zum mitnehmen.

Wir waren letzten Samstag Abend dort. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend. Vielen Dank für so viel Gastfreundschaft, tollen Service und ein super Essen. Schade, dass wir so weit weg wohnen, wir würden sicher wieder kommen.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Ambiente ist schön. Leider war das Essen nichts und teuer. Warum......Die Portionen waren sehr klein für das Geld. Das Gyros war versteckt unter Roten Zwiebeln und Leider Tot gebraten. Calamari ohne Geschmack. Ein löffel Tzatziki und ein Kugel Tomatenreis. Der Beilagen Salat ein Viertel Tomate und eine Scheibe Gurken Eisberg Salat,ohne Geschmack. Keine Zahlung möglich mit Karte.Schade! War nichts.

Sehr gutes griechisches Restaurant. Habe gegenüber im Hotel Amper übernachtet. Zum Abendessen super geeignet. Nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Getränke und Essen bestellt und schnell am Tisch gewesen, nicht vergessen der Ouzo sofort da gewesen, vor und nach dem Essen. Salat und Hauptgang sehr frisch, heiß und super lecker gewesen. Preisleistung perfekt. Weiter so 👍

Auf der Durchreise haben wir uns für diesen Griechen entschieden und können nur sagen: Absolut empfehlenswert! Top!!! Sehr freundliche Bedienung und absolut leckeres Essen! Und endlich war unsere absolute Favorit mal als Standart auf der Karte (Bifteki und Gyrus)! Der Auberginensalat oder eher Auberginenmus war ein Traum. Hier würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen, wenn wir auf der Durchreise sind.

È un posto dove ci siamo trovati di passaggio sulla strada del ritorno verso l’Italia, in un paese anonimo alle porte di Monaco. Appena siamo entrati la frase di accoglienza, invece che ‘Buonasera’, è stata ‘non si accettano carte, si paga solo in contanti’. In generale i piatti che abbiamo mangiato non erano affatto male, ma l’approccio brusco si è ripetuto anche dopo. Servirebbe soltanto un po’ più di gentilezza e capacità di trattare un cliente.

Das Essen selbst war ein wahrer Genuss. Jedes Gericht, das wir bestellten, wurde mit Sorgfalt und Kreativität zubereitet. Die Aromen waren ausgewogen und die Präsentation der Speisen war ästhetisch ansprechend. Es war offensichtlich, dass die Küchencrew große Liebe zum Detail und Leidenschaft für ihr Handwerk hatte. Besonders beeindruckend waren die hausgemachten Pasta-Gerichte. Die frische Pasta war perfekt al dente gekocht und mit köstlichen Saucen kombiniert. Jeder Biss war ein Geschmackserlebnis, das uns nach Italien entführte.

Bisher der einzige Grieche bei dem es 2 Ouzos pro Person auf´s Haus gab. Nicht sehr preiswert - dafür sehr lecker - schnell und professionell. Vielen Dank!

Das Lokal lag direkt gegenüber unserem Hotel. Es war gut besucht, daher entschieden wir uns, es auszuprobieren. Der Empfang war freundlich. Der übliche Ouzo vor dem Essen wurde schnell serviert. Auch sonst war der Service betreffend Getränke und Essen sehr freundlich und schnell. Die Kellner waren auch sehr aufmerksam und fragten immer wieder nach. Das Essen war sehr gut, die Portionen sind mehr als ausreichend und das Preisniveau ist angemessen, für den Großraum München sogar noch günstig. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und für jeden Geschmack ist was dabei. Das Lokal kann man, wenn man gern griechisch ist, sehr empfehlen

Die immer aufmerksame Bedienungen sind schon ein Anziehungspunkt. Das Essen ist hervorragend, Preis Leistung sehr gut. Jederzeit zu empfehlen.

Fantastic Greece Restaurant in Germering. We visited the Mondo's several times. In the past we visited Greece Restaurants in other cities nearby, but the Mondo is best Greece Restaurant in Germering. The meal is excellent and outstanding. The service is great. When I read the comments in TripAdvisor, that Mondo is the Restaurant Number 4 in Germering, I disagree. For me Mondo is the Number 1.

Wir gehen seid Jahren hier her und wurden noch nie enttäuscht! Nicht günstig, aber Preis Leistung absolut gerechtfertigt.

Hellas, wir kommen gern und regelmässig hier her, nach dem unser Grieche in Gilching sich von durchschnitt zur Katastrophe entwickelt hat, fanden wir vor einigen Jahren hier einen höchst zufriedenstellenden Ersatz. Ich kann nicht sagen, das wir jemals enttäuscht wurden. Nach einiger Zeit wurden wir mit Namen begrüßt. Das wir mit Hund kommen, stellte nie ein Problem dar. Das Essen ist lecker und die Ouzo "Supplychain" funktioniert. Auch für unseren Jungen haben die Kellner immer mal ein Späßchen parat und wissen mit Ihm umzugehen. Vorspeisenauswahl, Hauptgänge und Dessert Karte stimmen und wir kommen weiterhin gerne hier her.

Fantastic Greek recipes & menu! If you have the opportunity to do so.... take a culinary experience @ Mondo. Lunch or dinner the menu is loaded with choices. Good wine list, full bar, excellent servers. The restaurant has plenty of windows to give it a harmonic vibe alining with the chic crowd of Germering. I had to dinners back-to-back durning my visit. I had the Crete dish both nights. I will be back in Germering & I will be going back to the Mondo for most of my meals.... ok maybe all of them😁 Bon Appetit!

It was raining on the day that we booked. However the inside seating is excellent. The staff are attentive and the food well cooked and good value. The wine was not to my taste but the measure was large. Sadly we choose the location for a meeting and both parties drove for 5hrs to rendezvous based on the information online that suggested that Mondo was open all afternoon. However, this was not the case and we had to leave before out guest arrived. Our guest enjoyed a Pizza next door and had we have understood the opening hours we would not have booked this venue. It not unusual for winter opening hours to differ from summer hours. And our mistake was to trust the online information that was clearly out of data. Mondo might have been aware of this ? Don't let me put you off. It's a popular place.

Hab in meinem ganzen Leben noch nie so schlecht gegessen wie gestern!!!! Traurig um das Geld und die verschwendete Lebenszeit!!!! Neben dem widerwärtigen Essen, ist der Kellner (älterer grimmiger Herr) die reinste Katastrophe und ein Paradebeispiel für Leute die nichts in der Gastro verloren haben. Gegessen hatten wir eine Fischplatte, Gyros, Lachs, Suvlaki und die Scampi. Lieblos widerwärtig und einfach nur so ekelhaft, dass keiner von uns diesen Fraß aufgegessen hat!!!! In wirklich allen Punkten eine Katastrophe und auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen!!!
