The Etagere Gigante is brilliant and exquisite. The sorbet between the two courses and the ragù for the main course... mmm, wonderful!

The food was very very very tasty. But unfortunately the price doesn't match it.

I did not expect that the dishes would be so tasty. Tartar is simply fantastic. Lobster - great! Beef steak fillet million - excellent. Seabass is super. A dessert plate with ice cream and other goodies is incredible! And the wine is good. Red, white, dessert (for every dish)! Thank you!

An all-round great thing for every occasion, from a business lunch to a romantic dinner. The service staff are a big part of this unique experience. They rarely change, which is in stark contrast to other restaurants. This makes it even more fun to come here more often! The menu has both classics and always something new.

Already with the starter, the bulots (sea snails), I had a very unpleasant experience: the first two snails were full of sand - so much that I spit them out. I didn't touch the rest any further. The service didn't explain to me that with this delicacy you should only eat the muscle and clean the rest yourself - that would have been helpful. There were also problems with the main course: some mussels were damaged or spoiled - I spit them out too. Despite being careful, I still had severe diarrhea after eating, which only improved slightly the next day. I eat seafood very often and have never had any problems like this. My complaint was responded to politely but rather defensively. It was explained to me that sand “is part of the innards” and that as a guest you have to sort it yourself. I find this attitude disappointing for an upscale restaurant - especially if you have health problems. I would have liked more empathy and genuine regret for my experience. Taste is subjective – but freshness and food safety should be a given. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. I can therefore not recommend the restaurant.

You feel completely comfortable and valued. Conclusion: Mon Amie Maxi is more than just a restaurant – it is an experience for all the senses. Anyone who appreciates authentic French cuisine, an elegant ambience and an excellent wine selection should not miss this gastronomic highlight in Frankfurt.

Upscale restaurant in the center. Unfortunately with a service that is not convincing. Staff is inattentive and seems overwhelmed. Example: after consuming an aperitif and starters, no one comes up with the idea of ​​asking us if we would like a drink. Even when the main course was served (after about 60 minutes of waiting), it wasn't noticeable that drinks were missing. When we asked for a wine list and wine order, it took another 15 minutes until the bottle of wine was finally at the table - the main course had now been eaten. Only when we finally asked for the bill after another hour did the waiter ask - apparently rhetorically - whether he could bring another dessert menu... Overall, you are left with the feeling that there is no overview (or that non-regulars are being ignored). Neither should actually be the case for a restaurant in this price range. From our point of view, no recommendation.

Our Saturday evening at Mon Amie was more than a successful evening. From the hospitality to the food, everything was wonderful, we felt very well looked after. The sommelier Anne recommended us a very nice wine. We particularly liked the beef tartare and the Le Mirage appetizer platter. We'll definitely be back!

I went to dinner on Friday, April 4, 2025. I'm a regular customer and eat there once a week. Unfortunately, I didn't have my credit card with me and couldn't pay the bill. Instead of the manager offering me, as a regular customer, to pay the next day or offering to send the bill to my office, I was asked to drive an hour back and forth home to settle the bill. As a man of honor, I endured this whole ordeal with my wife on a Friday evening and drove home especially for this. But when I returned, the restaurant was closed. It's an absolute disgrace and a bottomless cheek how the Mook Group treats its regular customers in its restaurants. True, fine dining would never dare to treat regular customers like this. But the Mook Group doesn't seem to have understood this and is therefore not on the same level as, for example, the Lohninger family, which offers absolutely top-notch gastronomy and customer-oriented service. All of the Mook Group's restaurants are worlds away from that. In addition, the following aspects, which have been mentioned several times in the past by many guests, were ignored due to Mook's arrogance: The entire restroom area stinks like a sewer. There are no small towels, as is appropriate, especially for seafood, but only cheap, scratchy paper. Among other things, there was no Laurent-Perrier champagne, only the flashy and cheap Moët – this shows that Mook restaurants have no style whatsoever and sell cheap Moët and Chandon. The lemons are not protected by a lemon net, and everything splatters everywhere when squeezed. This is not only unprofessional, but also simply amateurish towards the guests. You're constantly tripping over some carpet edge, and the carpet itself gives off an unpleasant odor and looks like a cat litter box. It's a real shame how Christian Mook lets his restaurants gradually decay, burns out his employees, and instead of professionalism, displays only amateurism and incompetence, and gets away with it. But soon certainly not anymore :D

Ladies and Gentlemen In my opinion, the price-performance ratio in this restaurant is simply not right. If you look at the service and the quality of the food, you quickly realize that they are not justified. If you compare the restaurant on an international level, you simply notice that they still have a lot of catching up to do and need to adapt more to international standards. For a special occasion, we decided to have dinner at Mon Ami Maxi. Upon entering the huge entrance, we were very impressed by the atmosphere and the decor. It felt like another world, as if we were on vacation. We received a friendly welcome and were escorted to our table with some small talk. It was somewhat surprising, but not objectionable, that our coats weren't taken. I just kind of expected that this would be offered to us. The menu was very varied, with a natural focus on fish. After we had finally decided and received good advice, we happily chose the starter and main course. For the starter, we had the tiered platter, the beef tartare, the egg dish, and some bread. All the dishes were delicious in their own way. I would especially like to highlight the beef tartare, or, given the wide variety, the tiered platter, which is a new discovery. For the main course, we had the humer ragout and the beef schnitzel. Even though it was well prepared, the schnitzel wasn't quite to my taste. I suspect there was something anise-like in the sauce as a spice. But that's a personal preference and in no way meant to devalue the food. The service was very friendly and informative. However, what I missed was... Right at the beginning, we were asked if we wanted water, which we advised. Unfortunately, as the food progressed, even after ordering our food, we weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks. We had to proactively request them. Likewise, when ordering or bringing us dessert, we weren't asked for a hot drink. These aren't bad things in themselves. However, in this category of restaurant, I expect the customer to be asked for it. Because for me, that's the definition of service, which is why it only gives four stars. Overall, we had a very pleasant and exciting evening. Fish lovers, in particular, should get their money's worth here.

The service was very very bad. We had to wait 20 minutes until we were shown to the table, despite having a reservation. When we finally sat down at the table, we were ignored for ages. The staff is sloppy and generally very rude and incompetent. The food really isn't that intoxicating to compensate for such disrespect from the staff. I would always prefer to eat in the canteen of the university hospital without having to go there again!

Overall we found it ok to mediocre, rather disappointing in relation to the price level. But one thing is not possible: the only non-alcoholic cold drinks available are mineral water, cola or sweet lemonade. “Alcohol-free” beer or wine is also available upon request. We were there with the family on the occasion of our 40th wedding anniversary. It was a worthy setting. Seven of us were able to eat a la carte. All food and wine were top. The atmosphere is festive, cozy, the service is friendly and attentive. We would be happy to make the journey from the Ruhr area again for the next special opportunity.

Coming from Kathmandu to Frankfurt few times am year and its must for me to have once dinner in Frankfurts best Restaurant.

Unfortunately, we are very disappointed with our visit to Mon Amie Maxi. First of all, the evening itself was nice and we also enjoyed the food. Although I would still question the price-performance ratio. But that's not what this is about. Unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by symptoms of food poisoning after our visit. We had reported this, but unfortunately there was no interest in actually clarifying this. Here you were dismissed with standard phrases. For an evening where you spend several hundred euros and expect a certain level of reliability and customer service, it's simply disappointing. Unfortunately I cannot make a recommendation here. Incidentally, I have already discovered a similar comment here in the reviews - so this does not seem to be an isolated case.

The “Mon Amie Maxi” by restaurateur Christian Mook is probably one of the most established luxury restaurants in Frankfurt. Bankers and consultants from the financial metropolis meet here, especially at lunchtime. The “fried salmon King Ora” (€39.90) with cream spinach and Béarnaise sauce tasted really good. The bread that came with it was also delicious.

The service was world class! We have never been welcomed so warmly and warmly.

Disappointing experience I had high expectations for this restaurant as it bills itself as Michelin worthy, but unfortunately our experience was anything but. The food was OK, but definitely not at the level you would expect from a restaurant with such pretensions would. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully designed, but unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can mention. The service was simply terrible. The lady who served us was unfriendly from the start and made it clear to us that we were not welcome. I had already mentioned when making the reservation that one person in our group was vegetarian. Nevertheless, the vegetarian order for the starter was met with visible displeasure. When I asked for recommendations, I was even advised to "go to another place" as there was nothing here suitable for vegetarians and vegans - an incredibly rude comment. The only positive exception was an older waiter who was very friendly and tried to make our evening more pleasant. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were just as rude as our main server. Overall the service was so bad that I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are much better alternatives, especially for vegetarians and people who value friendly service.

Mi única queja, aunque pequeña, fue el vertido de vino. Mi marido no bebe mucho y yo no quiero beber una botella entera sola, así que pedimos por copa. El vertido era pequeño; más bien un vertido de maridaje. Iba a mencionarlo, cuando volviera a servir. Así que pensé que quizás era una diferencia regional en el servicio. Cuando llegó la factura, cobraron por cada pequeño vertido. No sé si esto es una política de la casa o si el camarero tomó esa decisión. No arruinó la velada, fue solo la única decepción. Tú decides si eso importa.

We were just passing by and noticed the beautiful chandeliers in the windows. It looked so romantic and chic that we decided to stop in for a cocktail. The place was so cozy and inviting that we ended up staying for dinner. The service was great, and the french music made the evening even more enjoyable and romantic 🥰 The food was absolutely delicious, I'll share some pictures of what we ordered!

Anyone who complains about prices has little idea about the logistics of fresh produce, especially seafood and shellfish. We had two “starters”: Gratiniere Bone Marrow and the Etagere Spectaculaire. It was really a taste experience. I found the grilled lobster particularly delicious with incredibly great flavors. There are a lot of specialties in this shop that I would like to try, foods that you would otherwise often look for in vain. For example: sweetbreads. I'm thrilled and would love to come back.

In the beginning everything was actually good since we go there a lot. But since when has it been compulsory to tip in Germany, the most shameful thing was that the waiter himself typed more than 10% tip into the POS machine and demanded that we HAVE to tip at least 10%！！！At the end he joined in the discussion us and told us that if we also wanted good service, the service he gave us, this 10% tip was also included. I think it's such cheekiness！we always tip, no matter how much we give, it's up to us（we always give fairly and not a little）

Lunch in a perfect atmosphere. Clear line, quick but not too quick lunch break. In addition, experienced and friendly service with good puns and nice wine recommendations.

Me and my family ordered the french onion soup, lamb shank and étagère spectaculaire seafood platter. The french onion soup was perfect and was one of the best onion soups I have had. The seafood platter was also very fresh and very flavourful. All the food was superb except for the lamb shank which was a bit too salty, but generally the food was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff service was also excellent and they were very friendly.

Good food, great champagne, very friendly service people. Stay away from the desserts! After ordering the Ile Flottante which was really sub-par, we went for the creme brûlée. You imagine you can’t go wrong with that but actually you can… too dry to be worth the calories. And I’m sure anybody can have a bad moment but with a bill of 250 euro, you would at least think they wouldn’t charge the failed dessert(s)… Stick with the terrace and the great artichoke for starter and steer clear of the steak tartare and the dessert!

Wir hatten das Restaurant informiert, dass wir ca. eine halbe Stunde später als zur Reservierung kommen, was kein Problem darstellte. Leider hat es etwas länger gedauert bis wir nach unserem Aperitif die Bestellung für das Abendessen aufgeben konnten. 2 Vorspeisen und 1 Hauptgang waren nicht mehr verfügbar. Dies alles sollte sich aber noch als das geringste Übel des Abends herausstellen. Die Vorspeise wurde serviert. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt wurde noch kein Brot gereicht. Erst nach 3x Aufforderung bekamen wir Brot serviert, nachdem wir mit der Vorspeise schon fast fertig waren. Der Aperitif war in der Zwischenzeit getrunken. Keine Bedienung kümmerte sich um uns und fragte, ob wir noch etwas drinken wollten. Nach einigen unmissverständlichen Handzeichen und Hilferufen kam dann eine Kellnerin, die allerdings unsicher war, welche 2 Gläser Rotwein zu empfehlen sind. Sie wollte die Sommeliere schicken. Dies kam allerdings nie und wir saßen im Trockenen. Wiederum bemühte ich mich um eine Bedienung. Nachdem meine ersten beiden Rufe und Handzeichen nicht erhört wurden hob ich meine Stimme etwas an. Tatsächlich kam dann eine Bedienung, die sich darüber beschwerte, dass ich geschrien hätte und mich dafür entschuldigen solle. So eine groteske und peinliche Entgleisung und Fehlverhalten einer Bedienung habe ich noch nie erlebt und war dementsprechend perplex. Die beiden Gläser Rotwein wurden dann von jemand anderem gebracht. Diesen Vorfall berichtete auch dem Restaurantleiter, der sich weder entschuldigte, noch irgendeine Kompensation für diesen Vorfall anbot, sondern lediglich meinte, dass er dies im nächsten Meeting besprechen werden. Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass die Bedienung es schaffte aus einem anfangs schönen Abend einen Alptraum zu machen.

İ guess i expected a lot more, really overhyped and was dissapointing in so many ways. İ havent even eaten 1/4 of my food, the ambient is way to dark and a bit too loud for my taste. The food and service doesnt justify the pricing.

Delicious, fun, a must for true gourmets. Unfortunately, the 3-piece starter plate is no longer available. Otherwise, just good cuisine. The foie heas could be even more schlonzigerv.

Today everything was excellent again as usual

First of all i felt a bit under pressure of ordering wine or generally more from the waitress, the glasses smelled and i asked him to change and he was kinda pissed off, the food was good but the feeling that waitress gave to me ruined the taste of food !

If you want to experience a relaxing and great evening you should have been here. Food and everything about it is great, even if the price is a little higher. It was a great, delicious experience.

The restaurant experience started poorly with a hostile greeting and continued with subpar service. The waitress assumed we were sharing a dish without asking, resulting in overcharging and wasted food due to undisclosed ingredients. The oysters unexpectedly got unavailable. The lack of a wine menu and the waitress's inability to provide information about the wines were disappointing. Service was unfriendly and unprofessional, contrary to expectations for an upscale establishment. Despite the appealing design and decent food, the overall experience was marred by poor management and declining service quality. Unless improvements are made, the restaurant's future looks uncertain.

For the price range we expected so much more quality and more service. Overall the whole place felt like an over clichéd version of a simple brasserie in suburban Paris coupled with untrained old waiters and high prices. The food was mediocre at best, the waiter wasn’t capable of making food recommendations, was pouring wine over our plates into our glasses and openly asked us for a higher tip at the end. Either I have been living in France for too long to find this place remotely acceptable or I have not been living in Frankfurt for long enough to develop the necessary sense of open-mindedness to just accept anything. Long story short: take a train / book a flight to Paris and go to the cheapest brasserie, you’ll have better value for money.
