Mon Amie Maxi in Frankfurt am Main

The “Mon Amie Maxi” by restaurateur Christian Mook is probably one of the most established luxury restaurants in Frankfurt. Bankers and consultants from the financial metropolis meet here, especially at lunchtime. The “fried salmon King Ora” (€39.90) with cream spinach and Béarnaise sauce tasted really good. The bread that came with it was also delicious.

The service was world class! We have never been welcomed so warmly and warmly.

What a great evening! We hadn't been here for too long and then we met old friends from the Mook group and immediately felt at home again. Food was bombastic. The 85 champagne is pure porn and the Rhone red wine afterwards is a poem. Celebrations have to be celebrated as they come: we did! Let's do it again: because it's just really fun here! Thank you all.

Disappointing experience I had high expectations for this restaurant as it bills itself as Michelin worthy, but unfortunately our experience was anything but. The food was OK, but definitely not at the level you would expect from a restaurant with such pretensions would. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully designed, but unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can mention. The service was simply terrible. The lady who served us was unfriendly from the start and made it clear to us that we were not welcome. I had already mentioned when making the reservation that one person in our group was vegetarian. Nevertheless, the vegetarian order for the starter was met with visible displeasure. When I asked for recommendations, I was even advised to "go to another place" as there was nothing here suitable for vegetarians and vegans - an incredibly rude comment. The only positive exception was an older waiter who was very friendly and tried to make our evening more pleasant. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were just as rude as our main server. Overall the service was so bad that I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are much better alternatives, especially for vegetarians and people who value friendly service.

We were just passing by and noticed the beautiful chandeliers in the windows. It looked so romantic and chic that we decided to stop in for a cocktail. The place was so cozy and inviting that we ended up staying for dinner. The service was great, and the french music made the evening even more enjoyable and romantic 🥰 The food was absolutely delicious, I'll share some pictures of what we ordered!

The ambience is beautiful and with great attention to detail. The service was very attentive. Anyone who complains about prices has little idea about the logistics of fresh produce, especially seafood and shellfish. We had two “starters”: Gratiniere Bone Marrow and the Etagere Spectaculaire. It was really a taste experience. I found the grilled lobster particularly delicious with incredibly great flavors. There are a lot of specialties in this shop that I would like to try, foods that you would otherwise often look for in vain. For example: sweetbreads. I'm thrilled and would love to come back.

We were there with four people and really enjoyed the great atmosphere. The bread was excellent and the quality of the food on the cake stand was impressive. The fresh fish and oysters were of excellent quality. The sauces served with it were finely balanced. The dessert is particularly noteworthy. Overall, a very tasty experience in a stylish setting.

Alles war fein bis zur Vorspeise und der Öffnung der Weinflasche. Dann verschwand die Bedienung und wir sassen dumm rum. Miserabler Service. Wir zahlten nach langem Warten und nahmen das Hauptgericht in einem anderen Restaurant. Die Vorspeise im Mon Amie Maxi schmeckte hervorragend.

Sensational! Prices very high, but OK. I just find the side dishes at 7.99 euros each a bit too expensive.

In the beginning everything was actually good since we go there a lot. But since when has it been compulsory to tip in Germany, the most shameful thing was that the waiter himself typed more than 10% tip into the POS machine and demanded that we HAVE to tip at least 10%！！！At the end he joined in the discussion us and told us that if we also wanted good service, the service he gave us, this 10% tip was also included. I think it's such cheekiness！we always tip, no matter how much we give, it's up to us（we always give fairly and not a little）

Lunch in a perfect atmosphere. Clear line, quick but not too quick lunch break. In addition, experienced and friendly service with good puns and nice wine recommendations.

Me and my family ordered the french onion soup, lamb shank and étagère spectaculaire seafood platter. The french onion soup was perfect and was one of the best onion soups I have had. The seafood platter was also very fresh and very flavourful. All the food was superb except for the lamb shank which was a bit too salty, but generally the food was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff service was also excellent and they were very friendly.

Good food, great champagne, very friendly service people. Stay away from the desserts! After ordering the Ile Flottante which was really sub-par, we went for the creme brûlée. You imagine you can’t go wrong with that but actually you can… too dry to be worth the calories. And I’m sure anybody can have a bad moment but with a bill of 250 euro, you would at least think they wouldn’t charge the failed dessert(s)… Stick with the terrace and the great artichoke for starter and steer clear of the steak tartare and the dessert!

Wir hatten das Restaurant informiert, dass wir ca. eine halbe Stunde später als zur Reservierung kommen, was kein Problem darstellte. Leider hat es etwas länger gedauert bis wir nach unserem Aperitif die Bestellung für das Abendessen aufgeben konnten. 2 Vorspeisen und 1 Hauptgang waren nicht mehr verfügbar. Dies alles sollte sich aber noch als das geringste Übel des Abends herausstellen. Die Vorspeise wurde serviert. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt wurde noch kein Brot gereicht. Erst nach 3x Aufforderung bekamen wir Brot serviert, nachdem wir mit der Vorspeise schon fast fertig waren. Der Aperitif war in der Zwischenzeit getrunken. Keine Bedienung kümmerte sich um uns und fragte, ob wir noch etwas drinken wollten. Nach einigen unmissverständlichen Handzeichen und Hilferufen kam dann eine Kellnerin, die allerdings unsicher war, welche 2 Gläser Rotwein zu empfehlen sind. Sie wollte die Sommeliere schicken. Dies kam allerdings nie und wir saßen im Trockenen. Wiederum bemühte ich mich um eine Bedienung. Nachdem meine ersten beiden Rufe und Handzeichen nicht erhört wurden hob ich meine Stimme etwas an. Tatsächlich kam dann eine Bedienung, die sich darüber beschwerte, dass ich geschrien hätte und mich dafür entschuldigen solle. So eine groteske und peinliche Entgleisung und Fehlverhalten einer Bedienung habe ich noch nie erlebt und war dementsprechend perplex. Die beiden Gläser Rotwein wurden dann von jemand anderem gebracht. Diesen Vorfall berichtete auch dem Restaurantleiter, der sich weder entschuldigte, noch irgendeine Kompensation für diesen Vorfall anbot, sondern lediglich meinte, dass er dies im nächsten Meeting besprechen werden. Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass die Bedienung es schaffte aus einem anfangs schönen Abend einen Alptraum zu machen.

İ guess i expected a lot more, really overhyped and was dissapointing in so many ways. İ havent even eaten 1/4 of my food, the ambient is way to dark and a bit too loud for my taste. The food and service doesnt justify the pricing.

First of all i felt a bit under pressure of ordering wine or generally more from the waitress, the glasses smelled and i asked him to change and he was kinda pissed off, the food was good but the feeling that waitress gave to me ruined the taste of food !

If you want to experience a relaxing and great evening you should have been here. Food and everything about it is great, even if the price is a little higher. It was a great, delicious experience.

The restaurant experience started poorly with a hostile greeting and continued with subpar service. The waitress assumed we were sharing a dish without asking, resulting in overcharging and wasted food due to undisclosed ingredients. The oysters unexpectedly got unavailable. The lack of a wine menu and the waitress's inability to provide information about the wines were disappointing. Service was unfriendly and unprofessional, contrary to expectations for an upscale establishment. Despite the appealing design and decent food, the overall experience was marred by poor management and declining service quality. Unless improvements are made, the restaurant's future looks uncertain.

For the price range we expected so much more quality and more service. Overall the whole place felt like an over clichéd version of a simple brasserie in suburban Paris coupled with untrained old waiters and high prices. The food was mediocre at best, the waiter wasn’t capable of making food recommendations, was pouring wine over our plates into our glasses and openly asked us for a higher tip at the end. Either I have been living in France for too long to find this place remotely acceptable or I have not been living in Frankfurt for long enough to develop the necessary sense of open-mindedness to just accept anything. Long story short: take a train / book a flight to Paris and go to the cheapest brasserie, you’ll have better value for money.

A perfect place for a romantic date.

It has a nice atmosphere and can be used for dinner parties. The appetizers such as onion soup and escargot were of a high standard and I was very satisfied.

We had a fantastic evening, in a chilled Sunday evening atmosphere. We felt very comfortable at our comfortable table at the counter and the service served us attentively and with a lot of humor and charm. The food was excellent and we made the most of the short waiting time with a bottle of Aligoté. Thank you for the lovely evening! What would Frankfurt be without the Mook stores?

Finally we were back at Mon Amie Maxi! As an aperitif we had a Vesper Martini and a glass of champagne. The starter was the Grand Bleu salad - perfect Roquefort dressing! Not too much of the intense cheese! The crayfish salad with wonderful crabs and in a nice combination with avocado and beans. The skin course as always with the best sole around! Now available at the current price! That was 79 euros for us… The beef tartare with pepper sauce and matchstick potatoes was perfect. Add a nice bottle of Chablis and the evening was perfect!

Good as always. Service was rather slow, and a waiter forgot one coctail, but by German standards still rather good place. Duck confit and lobster casserole are strong recommendations.

The garlic snails are delicious but a little salty. They go well with bread, the lobster and shrimp are of good quality, and the mashed potatoes are full of milky flavor! Delicious recommendation

This is such a lovely interior it almost makes up for not so good food. First, there are no vegetarian options, none. Asking if a vegetarian dish was possible there was no option that the kitchen would prepare something, the only offer was a starter with Rochefort cheese that could be made vegetarian. Since at least 10% of the population eat vegetarian these days, it is a bit from the stone age but also offensive that a restaurant in this class doesn't offer any vegetarian food. What if you are with a group and one of them is vegetarian, they can't order! Anyway we had the duck with lentils and boeuf bourguignon instead. The brown duck was on a brown bed of lentils and it didn't do much for the eye, it actually looked like something less appealing. There were absolutely no vegetables, just a very tasteless duck and brown lentils. The boeuf bourguignon was a little better but too salty for our taste and there was actually a carrot on the plate. The wine was very good but 18 euro per glass. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, good service but definitely needs to up there game in the kitchen with these prices because the food was really not good. Maybe if you want oysters this is the place to be but the other options not so much. The 18 euro for the wine was also way over prized. Sorry, not a repeat visit for us.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in the West End. Mediocre service, ridiculous prices, and the food took forever. Perhaps if this had been a busy night, but my wife and I were here on a Tuesday. Just awful. Definitely not worth it.

Our experience can be summed up in one word: mediocrity. For the price you pay, you expect unusual combinations of flavors, an author's vision. In reality you get uninteresting and very averagely prepared dishes. In my case it was an Omar „ragout“, which is essentially overcooked slices of Omar on mashed potatoes. A dish that would be more suitable for a kids menu due to its unpretentiousness. The selection of open wines is a shame for an establishment of this level. The service is an absolute disappointment. The waiter was polite until the time of payment, where he was clearly and demonstrably saddened by the amount of tip left. I do not consider it necessary to leave a tip when the price/quality obviously does not meet expectations, but I am always polite and expect common courtesy from service. A little more about the service: this time our bread was dropped on the floor, collected and put back on the table, as if it was necessary xd. Overall a very mediocre and overrated place, although the Frankfurt public is obviously hungry for quality places.

Everything was perfect, every time a pleasure and a very nice evening spent. For the mother, as a native of Bordeaux and the Sud-Ouest, huge praise for the complete package. It couldn't be more authentic.

Really excellent place to have lunch or dinner. Try the mussels and fries a traditional brasserie dish. The service is super friendly and accommodating. You wouldn’t expect this in such a business focused neighborhood. We will be back.

We started off with the French onion soup. Hands down, this is the best French onion soup I have ever had. Second course was deviled eggs with caviar. This was also really great and very tasteful. The main course was the house special; duck. For this being the house special, I expected a little more on that. That’s the reason why the food rating is a 4 star otherwise it would have been a 5 star all the way through. The ambience of the restaurant was fantastic. It was very well set up.

I visited here for the first time last night and have to admit it was a great experience. Service was quick friendly and professional. Food comes out really quick both appetiser and the main course. It was fresh and delicious except the lobsters that have no taste at all and I find that a pity and that’s why I can only give 4 stars, compare to the price I expected more. We were happy though with the rest and also the dessert. Price range is a bit higher than anywhere else but definitely would love to come back and try other dishes they offer. The toilet was way too dark and could be cleaner. Overall was a good experience and we had a wonderful evening together.

Service und Ambiente waren top. Das Essen hat uns überhaupt nicht geschmeckt, dafür waren die Preise völlig überzogen.

Essen ordentlich. Die Portion Foie gras überdimensioniert. Man sagt ja gerne, dass das Auge mitisst, hier gab es aber Diät für das Auge. Einfach die Scheibe Pastete und eine Scheibe Brot. Schade, da wäre mit ein wenig Kreativität deutlich mehr möglich gewesen. Zum Hauptgang Steak Tartar. Bestellt war mit Trüffelsauce, gekommen ist Klassik. Geschmacklich gibt es aber nix zu meckern. Das Boef bourgignon war toll. Unser Wunsch nach einem französischen Wein ging ins Leere. Trotz intensiver Nachfrage teilte uns die freundliche Mitarbeiterin mit, dass es keinen französischen Wein gäbe. Und das in einem französischen Restaurant? Der Service war freundlich, aber auch unaufmerksam. Aber mit Geduld und opulenten Gesten wurden wir dann doch immer wieder entdeckt. Das Ambiente wirklich toll, aber beim Rest gibt es Luft nach oben. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt aus meiner Sicht nicht so richtig

Grandiose Tarte Tatin. Und vieille Prune als Digestiv, und das in Deutschland! Macht Spaß zum Abschluß. Der Rest aber auch: Die G-Austern frisch (wenn auch nur mit Zitrone serviert - Essig/Zwiebel wäre schöner), das Hummer-Ragout mit einer anspruchsvollen Sauce und sehr feinem K-Pü, die Seezunge von guter Größe, was will man mehr, wenn man frz. Meeresküche zum Lunch in Frankfurt mag. Das habe ich in Frankreich schon schlechter bekommen. Allerdings auch besser, mutmaßlich aber nur, weil dort mit Blick aufs Mittelmeer und in der Sonne. Der Raum des Lokals ist halt mit Ausnahme der Fensterplätze etwas dunkel. Die rose-farbenen Sessel etc. sind Geschmackssache. Der Service ist kompetent und freundlich. Das Preisniveau ist ok, das kostet in Frankreich in gehoberenen Bistros in etwa dasselbe, und für die Austern zahle ich im Frischeparadies in Griesheim interessanterweise dasselbe je Stück, wenn ich sie mir ungeöffnet ohne Brot etc. nach Hause mitnehme - der Austernpreis ist insoweit für mich ein Schnäppchenpreis. Preislich: Ohne Getränke und 3 Gänge ca. EUR 130 plus pP (Stand Nov 2023). Getränkepreise sind halt wie in allen Restaurants der Mook Group gesalzen. Eine Bitte an die Mook Group: Eine Cafe Gourmand habe ich vermißt auf der Karte (oder überlesen), wäre schön, wenn es das auch gäbe. Allerdings: Die Tarte Tatin war wirklich grandios, insoweit war das Fehlen nicht wirklich schlimm.

Der Service verdient noch viel mehr als 5 Sterne! Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit bei sehr gutem Essen.

Eine außergewöhnliche Attraktion in Frankfurt. Hier findet man das Besondere in der gehobenen Gastronomie! Das ist Champions Leage der Restaurant Kultur. Innenausstattung ist sehr gemütlich, fast schon, nein sicher auch romantisch. Viele Blumen wenn auch nicht alle natürlichen Ursprungs. Feine und filigrane Farb. und Raumgestaltung. Sehr schnelle und freundliche Betreuung! Gute und geduldige Beratung. Toller ausgewählter Wein sowie Cocktails oder Whisky oder eine Auswahl an Aperitifs. Naja die Preise sind auch Exclusiv aber das ist es Wert! Einen Parkplatz findet man i.d.R. in einer Seitenstraße vor allem am Wochenende relativ sicher. Wünsche ein exklusives Verknügen.

Ich habe meine alte Rezession gelöscht, um heute eine neue zu schreiben. Vielleicht ist es auch immer besuchsabhängig, ich weiß es nicht. Ich gehe gerne in das Restaurant und esse dort auch gerne, aber ich hatte hier und da so meine kleinen inneren Kämpfe. Heute habe ich mich mal wieder mit einer Freundin getroffen und wir waren uns schnell einig. Wir haben beide den Hummercocktail bestellt und als Hauptspeise die Muscheln ABER mit Kartoffelpüree anstatt den Pommes Frites. Dazu haben wir noch ein Körbchen, Brot mit Butter, eine Flasche Wasser, eine Cola Zero und zum anstoßen für jeden einen Kir Royal bestellt. Was soll ich sagen, heute war alles sowas von auf dem Punkt! Das Essen hat uns beiden sehr geschmeckt, aber auch mir besonders. Der Hummercocktail war nicht nur eine Augenweide als er ankam, er hat auch noch so lecker geschmeckt, dass wir uns am liebsten noch zwei bestellt hätten. Ging natürlich nicht, weil die Muscheln und das Kartoffelpüree schon auf dem Weg waren. Das Kartoffelpüree hier bei Mon Amie Maxi ist ein purer Genuss. Und auch der Kir Royal war lecker wobei ich hier ein bisschen schimpfen muss, mit 21 € pro Glas definitiv überteuert und ja, sowas gibt es auch hier. Auch die Muscheln waren super lecker und über das Brot und die Butter muss ich nicht reden. Das Körbchen wird immer schnell leer und die Butter ist auch schnell verschwunden. Als Nachtisch hatte ich dann noch die Profiteroles, die ich schon mal hatte, aber auch heute haben sie irgendwie ganz anders und viel besser geschmeckt. Ich weiß nicht, vielleicht hatte mein Gaumen heute einen wunderbaren Tag. Auf alle Fälle habe ich es ausgenutzt und einfach nur genossen. Ich kann das Restaurent nur empfehlen, alleine schon die Ambiente. Es ist ein wunderschönes Restaurant und zu meinem Glück nur einen Katzensprung entfernt von wo ich wohne 👻

Ein wunderschönes französisches Restaurant mit gehobener Küche. Die Atmosphäre, die Bedienung und auch das Essen natürlich waren ausgezeichnet. Eines unserer liebsten Restaurants.

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant in Deutschland. Das Ambiente ist wahnsinnig schön, der Service sehr aufmerksam und humorvoll und die Küche exzellent. Bitte weiter so! Nur ein Hinweis: in der Herrentoilette ist wohl ein Abfluss verstopft. Der Gestank ist unerträglich gewesen (Besuch am 19. Oktober 2023). Bitte behebt das zeitnah :-)

My favorite restaurant in Frankfurt so far. You want a tasty dinner in a nice atmosphere this is a place for you. Prices are quite high, but these amazing oysters and tartar worth paying. Would come back soon.

The food is amazing especially lobster soup and lobster dishes. Definitely will go again.

Happy atmosphere created by the waiter. The food is just amazing! Only things to improve are the bread will be good if it’s warmer and softer, and oysters can be more plump, still taste good though

Tried their “Lamb Koteletts”. It was really tasty. Atmosphere, staffs are were top notch. However, a reservation is recommended.
