I visited this restaurant for the first time today, and it was absolutely delicious! It feels authentic, and the drinks were really good, too. I'll be back :)

Discovered by chance, fell in love immediately! We discovered this Mexican restaurant completely by chance – what a stroke of luck! From the outside it looked super cozy and inviting and inside this sociable atmosphere continues with lots of color and attention to detail. I ordered a fried quesadilla that was really tasty, well seasoned and beautifully presented. The various salsas were also an absolute highlight. Simply great and super tasty! The service was friendly, attentive and really quick. You just feel completely comfortable, and in the end I was just food happy. Absolutely recommended!

Moctezuma served literally the best Mexican food we've had in Europe. The enchiladas, rice and beans were phenomenal, the barbacoa burrito was very well seasoned and a huge portion, and they actually have truly spicy sauces available. The cocktails were also delicious. This was a great experience, and felt like eating at a restaurant at home. Definitely recommend.

Moctezuma is an authentic mexican restaurant with simple and good food and friendly staff. I had the famous Agua de Jamaica, tortilla chips w/ salsa and some tacos con pollo. Flavors were natural and fresh... overall very good place to go! 👌

Our favourite mexican restaurant ever. Came here when we first arrived to Germany in 2017 and I always ask my husband to come back here if we have any chance. Nice food and lovely service. Today is my husband birthday and Mr. Osiris his service has been excellent. He looked after us, recommended the food and always went the extra mile for us. Nothing better than this on our special day. Thank you Mr. Osiris. We will return back again.

Was the last time. It's worn off so much that it's sad. Loud, cold, expensive, unfriendly and unappetizing. The food was so dismal... in the end the waiter insisted on a tip and didn't even say goodbye because there was nothing.

Good, authentic Mexican restaurant.

Nice atmosphere and friendly waiters. As a starter I had a Moctezuma plate. It was very flavorful, arrived warm and had fresh ingredients. Guacamole was delicious. Then we tried tacos and the consistency was ok but there was something missing in terms of taste. The tacos are overpriced for the quantity and quality.

I can only recommend this restaurant!!! Loving traditional colors, matching furnishings! You feel “excellent” right from the start. For us it was refreshingly nice how the service acted! Friendly, even though it was very busy, still relaxed and so nice!! The menu, the food is so delicious. We'll be back.

My order was taken after more than half an hour. The food and drinks came at the same time, each after an hour! The store wasn't completely full. There wasn't even an apology or anything like that. The service here really leaves a lot to be desired. I have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant. What a shame! Never again!

No, loud, unfriendly, overpriced. The food comes to the table lukewarm. It's also bland and not very diverse. The starter plate was completely overpriced. The children were not given appetizer plates. The portions too small. You won't find child-friendliness. The colorful ambience is deceptive...when you make your reservation you are not informed that the table is still available and you are literally complemented. Maybe the place is aimed at American and Chinese customers or hipsters with a lot of money. A family doesn't feel well. Celebrating the holiday is completely unsuitable because the anger spoils everything. It's loud and when drinks are mixed at the bar, the ice cubes fly and it happens all the time. Having a conversation without having to scream is almost impossible. The chairs are uncomfortable and there is not enough cutlery despite a reservation for the number of people. Never a failure again.

We really enjoyed it here! The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and the service was very friendly. Both food and drinks were extremely tasty. Everything was great, highly recommended :) Plato's riquísimos, personal encantador, the local is muy bonito. In total, a perfect experience for the day of San Valentin. Gracias, volveremos pronto!

Tacos inedible unfortunately Consistency of the dough was really bad.👎👎 Burritos was ok, rice was overcooked.👍🏻 I don't know where to start with the churros, I think they had been fried 2/3 times at least before arriving at our table 🫣👎👎 Something never seen before... and it's already the second time it's happened. the ones at Burger King are better. A great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food and beverages. The atmosphere was lively the color scheme added to the experience. The food and drink menu had a large variety to appeal to families and groups of all ages. The staff were friendly and checked on us several times. Service was great and I recommend the salsa it was extra picante with fresh chips, I highly recommend all the food and can say I enjoyed a chicken fajita and my friend the beef chimichanga and we were both commented on how great the food. I ended with a flan and it was extra creamy with caramel and fruit on top that I would say is one of the best I have ever had.

We were in a larger group for dinner at Moctezuma. The food came at a delay, it has to be said that the place was really full. The food is very authentic and a nice change. It was tasty, but it didn't blow us all away - we couldn't really say what it was - it didn't quite suit our taste. Nevertheless, I would recommend the restaurant if you want authentic cuisine. The ambience and mood in the store has a real holiday feel. ☺️ Perfect for escaping everyday life. The price-performance ratio could be better.

We had a wonderful evening at Moctezuma 😌 from the warm atmosphere to the incredibly friendly service, everything was just right. The drinks are super delicious and the food is authentic and to die for. Made us very happy. Price-performance ratio is also right and it just warms your heart ✨ we'll be back!

Very authentic in itself, the whole shop, the service staff and the food all look very original. However, the store is a little cramped and the waiting times can be a bit tiring. Nevertheless, the restaurant is by no means bad and definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a Mexican restaurant in Mainz.

The food is "almost" authentic Mexican cuisine. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance as it is very busy... and it is therefore quite loud. I would particularly like to mention the great and fun service. Rarely have I seen someone who has so much fun at work 👍. The price/performance ratio is right. We will definitely go again. If you are looking for an authentic Mexican in an atmospheric ambience, this is the right place. The food was tasty and well seasoned. The wheat flatbreads are homemade and the variations of delicious Mageritas are diverse.

We had dinner here and enjoyed so much!! Their margaritas are excellent! My personal favourite is cafe margaritas. I ordered churros and had it as my dessert!! We’ll definitely go back!!!

Six of us were there for lunch on a Saturday. There wasn't much going on, so everything happened pretty quickly. The service was also very friendly. I also enjoyed everything extremely well. Small requests, such as turning down the music that was way too loud, were also implemented without any fuss.

Very good food. There are also some options for me as a vegetarian who eats gluten-free. The waitresses are always very polite. I always enjoy coming here.

Wer endlich mal wieder authentische mexikanische Leckereien essen möchte, ist hier goldrichtig. Für mich, der ein paar Jahre in dem Land gelebt hat, das beste Restaurant, außerhalb Mexikos. Freunde kommt her! Superschöne Atmosphäre.

Just ate their pulled pork burrito. It was much better than many I've had in the US.

Conclusion: it's good if you like a lively atmosphere and don't like big taste explosions in the form of spiciness, acid and coriander anyway. I don't know if there has been a change of ownership in the last few years, I remembered the menu, food and margaritas as completely different. Food: We were both quite satisfied (veggie enmoladas + gringa with beef), but we have never experienced that there were no nachos as a small appetizer or as a small side dish. For the price of 18.50 euros, I found the portion to be borderline small, especially the side dish with a little rice, two leaves of lettuce and a touch of salsa on top. You were just full, which was more due to the amount of cheese than the quantity. But everything was fresh and nicely presented. Drinks: We each ordered a margarita with jalapeno. You can give yourself this extra charge because you can't taste it. We both had the impression that there was very little alcohol, but there were 20-25 ice cubes. I definitely don't know Margarita like that. They used to be really great here and just strained, if I remember correctly. For just under 9 euros I would have expected to taste something like Triple Sec and tequila. Unfortunately that was disappointing. Service: We had reserved, but no table was prepared. It wasn't bad because there was still room. However, we were not allowed to choose a free table ourselves and were then seated at the table directly at the entrance to the bar/kitchen/cash register/toilet. I personally found this to be the worst seat in the restaurant. Service went well. The employees were friendly and quick. We had to wait quite a while for the drinks, but that's understandable on a hot day with lots of cocktail orders.

Despite speaking Spanish, our mother tongue and so does the waitress. She was rude and abrupt with her way of serving customers. The sauce was natural and of good flavor. I don't think we will return to this place with that type of customer service. The food was good for Germany because it is more difficult to find the ingredients. Nobody wanted to eat potatoes. There are better places in this country. The restaurant has a nice Mexican decor, but the food is bland and very Americanized. I can say this because I have lived in the USA for 20 years. No creo that volvamos is this lugar with this type of service to the client. The food is good in Germany and is more difficult to find the ingredients. Nadie quería comer papas. Leiwande margaritas, fine dining.

Today we went to Moctezuma again after a long time, so far our favorite Mexican restaurant in Mainz. After today's visit no more, we waited a long time for the drink and over 70 minutes for the food. Requests for changes when ordering were not implemented and the worst thing was a live beetle in our friend's salad. Sorry people, that has nothing to do with good service and good food!

The ambience is great, a very small restaurant. Food was good, but you have to like the extremely smoky taste. Personally, I would have liked more dip sauce and a salt with the tortillas, then it would have been 5 stars Cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced.

Very tasty food, great homemade lemonade, very friendly service and a cozy interior! Unfortunately I waited 40 minutes for 3 churros with 1 scoop of ice cream (dessert) and asked 3 times. That's clearly too long, hence 1 star deduction. Waiting times are in need of improvement.

Ordered via Lieferando and received the message 40 minutes later that my order had been canceled 😡 and that at 10 p.m. of course the fault lies with the supplier but also with the restaurant. If you know that you can no longer deliver a delivery, you should cancel the delivery directly or state that no more deliveries can be made.

The Agua de Jamaica is very tasty, but unfortunately extremely overpriced for what you actually get. The glass was full to the brim with ice cubes, so you definitely don't get the 0.4l that you paid €5.50 for, which is quite a lot of money for a bit of flavored water and a pack of ice cubes. It's a real shame, I'm really disappointed.

I've been to Mexico a lot and I imagine I know something about Mexican food (because I've tried a lot there) and here we felt like we were on vacation in Mexico for a little while. The food was fantastic (authentic, with some authentic spiciness and not some softened TexMex nonsense) with the best salsa verde I had in Germany. have ever eaten. The service is very nice and the ambience is reminiscent of rustic, traditional restaurants that you can find everywhere in Mexico. The only thing missing is the mariachi (even if they can at least be heard over the speakers 😊) We're definitely coming. again when we are back in Mainz!

When I first came to this restaurant, I was indescribably delighted. The service, drinks and food were top notch. And I decided that on 25.05.2024 I want to celebrate my birthday. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I was most dissatisfied with the bar: the cocktails were tasteless, we drank margarita-flavored ice. We waited at least half an hour for each round of drinks, and at the end we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our Margaritas. The kitchen was, as always, 10/10. I can confidently say that the bartender is entirely responsible for my ruined birthday. The waiters were polite, but they were absolutely not trained to deal with such situations. On top of everything else, 2 hours after the start of my birthday, we were asked to leave the table and move outside, as the table was reserved by another group for 7 pm, this shocked me. I do not recommend anyone to celebrate birthdays or other serious events there. This place is only suitable for dinner and a few cocktails after work but nothing more.
