El Burro in Mainz

We went to eat as 3 persons. I ordered enchiladas without onions and middle spice (they did it without hihi) and this shit was so unbelievably good that I was throughly satisfied when I was finished. Holy shit go eat here that is really really good. Also many vegan Options. My sister ate the fajita with the planted chicken. Was really really good too! Highly recommend!! 12/10 🥹❤️ P.S. I saw they have happy hour! ( that’s another good argument for us alcohol enjoyers)

Delicious and inexpensive - in the truest sense of the word. The portions are filling and the service is quick and friendly. If there was something to complain about, it would be at a high level - it can be loud. But that's because El Burro is so busy. I can live with that.

Everything was great and extremely plentiful! We took the rest with us. We sat outside with the blankets because it was a little more crowded inside and weren't forgotten either 😀 Everything was great!

Recently the restaurant has been visited at different times of the day. What is noticeable is that the quality of the food also varies depending on the time of day. You can't complain about the food in general. Everything is represented: wraps with filling or filling wrapped in wraps - you can't complain. If you order "spicy" you get three scattered pieces of jalapeño, which is kind of disappointing. In my opinion there are more authentic Mexican restaurants in Rlp, but the price-performance ratio is really balanced. The employees are really very nice and the atmosphere invites even larger groups to spend a pleasant time together. The prices are reasonable. A free Spanish lesson in the toilet makes the visit a lasting experience.

My absolute favorite place!! Everything is just perfect. The decor, the food, the staff. I've been there about five or six times and every time I've been completely satisfied. Today we were accidentally brought one too many meals and it was given to us on the house - so incredibly friendly and sweet. There was water straight away for my dog ​​and we received such a friendly welcome. Unfortunately we didn't have enough cash with us otherwise we would have given a lot more well-deserved tips. Went there with my ex-girlfriend for our second first date, the food was great...everything was fresh and super tasty. If you had brought flowers with you, we had just sat down and a vase was already brought... Service was perfect, also very patient because we were told a lot about what was included with each dish. The menu was old school in paper and modern with a QR code ...we were definitely not there for the last time...

Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Not only a beautiful and child-friendly location, but also very good, honest food. What I would particularly like to emphasize is that I have rarely experienced such service in Germany. Really every single one of the service staff did a particularly good job.

Very tasty and good quality food in normal portion sizes, which is almost unusual these days. You get full, but you don't have half left. Price/performance is okay. It's not cheap, but you shouldn't expect it either. Very friendly and attentive employees. It was also very nice to sit outside. Gladly again!

Get into a very nice Mexican atpmosphere at El Burro, with extremely tasty Mexican food, big portions and affordable prices in the heart of Mainz. Had the Fajita with chicken, which comes with 4 wraps so you can fill them to your own liking. Different home made sauces included varying from non-spicy to spicy. This place is popular, so be on time or reserve a spot when coming for dinner. Can very much recommend this place, you will not regret it.

Every time I come to Mainz I stop here for lunch. It was always delicious and the staff were friendly.

Nice restaurant for typical Mexican food. The food came quickly and tasted very well prepared. The service was courteous and friendly.

The food is very good, a little more expensive but you get something for the price. Soft shell tacos are a classic. The homemade lemonades are very tasty. Only Fritz Cola is not my cup of tea. I personally think normal cola or pesi is better. Vanilla ice cream with brownies as dessert was also very tasty. You can't go wrong with anything. Service has always been quick and very nice.

We were there for the first time yesterday and unfortunately something went wrong with my meal. The young man from the service was super nice and attentive and sincerely apologized several times, that's how good service works! The food came quickly and was extremely tasty. We'd love to come back, thank you!

Fantastic. Really buzzy place with plenty of seating inside and out. Staff were really welcoming, and not the fake "have a nice day" type either but genuinely warm. Food was superb. One complaint... Portions were quite substantial. Left feeling decidedly full. Drinks good too. Can't recommend highly enough.

Disaster! Seldom eaten so badly. Unfortunately I can't understand the good reviews. We came especially from Wiesbaden and I'm incredibly disappointed. The non-alcoholic Pina Coloda was just disgusting. The food wasn't convincing either. The salsa in particular seemed like pureed tomato sauce. Never again for us. And also spent so much money.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Staff were friendly, welcoming and genuinely warm, with excellent English. Very buzzy and enjoyable vibe. Margarita was lovely (apparently) and beer was cold and delicious. Food was excellent and sizeable portions. Just superb. Contemplating going again tonight...

Very tasty Mexican food with a great ambience in downtown Mainz. We found it particularly good that the needs of children are also taken into account - there is plenty of chalk for drawing, a popcorn machine, a metal drum and soap bubble molds for free to use/play with. We can absolutely recommend the El Burro Restaurant and we will definitely come back!

The best are the tacos. Delicious. The rest is all a bit similar, chimichanga, burritos and enchiladas are practically the same. It was good but nothing out of this world.

The food is great. Unfortunately the music is a bit too loud. We were having a team dinner with the company and were interrupted by the music getting louder. So if everyone at the table suddenly has to interrupt their conversation because the music increases a few decibels, I don't find that pleasant. We had to leave the restaurant early.

I've eaten at El Burro many times and love the burritos (barbacoa), I can really recommend them. As a starter we had cheese nachos, very tasty. Then I tried the tacos and I have to make a small deduction because they weren't really warm. All in all, it's great to sit outside (you can't make a reservation outside!) and the staff is very friendly.

To escape from Schweinhaxen and schnitzel, I went to a Mexican restaurant. Instead of providing a separate menu, you can view the menu by scanning the QR code on the table with your phone. You can also check the English menu. I ordered the menu after receiving a recommendation from the staff, and all of the menu items were delicious. Both portions are generous. No matter what menu you order, it looks delicious, and the interior is pretty and looks like a lot of care was put into it. However... we ate with our hands like we used to eat in Korea, but other people ate with forks and knives. We were a little embarrassed because we were the only ones eating with our hands. :)

We had dinner there with 8 people on June 24th for my son's 18th birthday. Food and cocktails very tasty. The service was also extremely friendly. I just found it a shame that even though I stated my 18th birthday when making the reservation, it was not taken into account in any way. I don't expect any jumps in the air, but it would have been a little more personal. Nonetheless, we will definitely eat there again. Everything was spotlessly clean and we also liked the ambience.

Fun & relaxed atmosphere with good food

Nice but relatively expensive. Quite small portions but excellent friendly and accommodating team. The Magherita mini glass really amazed us at almost ten euros for it. It was all the more surprising that the host didn't charge us for the glass even though we didn't complain, we just asked whether the one small glass was really that expensive. In-Spot with lots of young guests.

The reviews of this place are for real! Enjoyed the place and our meal. Reservations are recommended- we did not have one because it was a last minute decision for us and we were able to sit outside (what we wanted to do anyway!). Adding even further to the atmosphere was it was Germany was playing in Euro 2024 that evening. TVs were set up and they were ready for a great evening. Great service and food.

This place is very 5 star. Service is top. Food is great. Drinks are a bit expensive but worth it. Don't hesitate to eat or have a drink here also when you are with little kids. 🤗👍

What kind of hospitality is there here? Are you already at the point where you want to change tables and are told off because you have black hair? Dear friends, I already had a table and I just wanted to move my table one further because it has chairs and I have back pain. But for whatever reason, the girl serving, with half-long brown hair and a nose piercing, objected to me changing even though the table WAS NOT RESERVED! How do I know that? 1 minute before the table became free and guests came and were offered this table and they decided on another one and immediately afterwards I wanted the table and they said no, it was already reserved. I said several times they can have my table, it's next door and I have back pain. I think it is very sad

I won't go there again. There were three of us there for dinner. The food was passable, but nothing more. The spiciness was okay, but otherwise, in my opinion, the taste just wasn't right. I would rather recommend the Santiago or the Monteczuma in Mainz. Both suit my taste much more.
