Mmaah - Korean BBQ Express in Berlin

A small, hidden shop on the Kiel waterfront. They serve delicious Korean fast food. From fried chicken to tasty kimchi mandu, there's something for everyone. A very nice and tasty alternative to all the typical snack bars. I highly recommend it!

Portion sizes are getting smaller. Large crispy chicken doesn't even fill the bottom of the container anymore. It's crazy to think i paid more than 1 euro each for these tiny chicken bites. Not good value anymore.

The restaurant is not very outstanding. But the atmosphere here makes me feel comfortable. The staff is enthusiastic and of course it makes our food enjoyment more satisfying.

Actually, one of the best bbq chickens I ever ate. Usually I try to avoid eating meat as much as possible, but this place became my guilty pleasure in a sense. Totally recommend! (And the staff is super nice too)

I went to Mmaah Chicken for a delivery pickup. When I arrived, they told me there would be a 10-minute wait. I politely asked if it could be made faster, and one of the staff members responded in a rude way, saying, “This is not McDonald’s, we make everything fresh.” When I asked if I said something wrong, she started shouting at me. As delivery drivers, we spend a lot of time waiting without being paid, so a little politeness and respect goes a long way. I fully understand that food is made fresh and needs time, but the way customers and delivery partners are spoken to matters.

Sometimes the food is good - other times not. In general I wouldn’t say it’s particularly reliable. The kimchi is always good - a bit pricey though.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! I never write reviews, but I have to speak out here because this was so disappointing and I don't understand how there can be so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I was counting on, and I was bitterly disappointed. First of all: completely overpriced. Almost €10 for a few potatoes with "chicken," plus a tiny packet of kimchi for €3.90 – absolutely unjustified. The positive: The potatoes and kimchi were tasty, but you can't really go wrong with them. The negative: There was no choice at all except chicken dishes. The "chicken" itself was an absolute disaster. From the first bite, it was clear that it wasn't real chicken, but rather pressed-together leftovers. I had to spit it out immediately. The color and texture had nothing to do with chicken, and the taste was disgusting. I tried another piece, hoping it was just an outlier, but it was just as disgusting. My girlfriend felt the same way. In the end, we had to throw away the food. Almost €10 per person went straight into the trash. Truly disappointing and annoying.

Such a shame, what happened? I've known Mmaah since the beginning, the food truck at Tempelhofer Feld, then the shop on Kiehlufer. I was always impressed, the food was good, and I live around the corner. Today I went again. Prices were very expensive and the quality of the food was also very poor. I had beef with potatoes, what kind of meat was that? I won't be going back for that price and quality.

Such a great place! The lovely manager was so caring, she even gave me an extra handful of rice! Honest, delicious, never disappointing! I'm a regular customer on Lieferando, too! (Picture a bit blurry because I couldn't wait because I was so hungry! xDD)

The food used to be so good, and now it's pretty disappointing. It seems like some of the recipes have changed (unfortunately for the worse). The crispy chili mandu used to be so delicious, and now the new mandu kimchi unfortunately tastes neither like kimchi nor tasty. They skimp on the sauce (which used to be better), and the whole dish is now pretty tasteless and dry. Just like the side coleslaw, which seems completely unseasoned? I used to love ordering from here, but unfortunately, it doesn't taste that good anymore. Please rework your concept and bring back the old flavor.

It's now incredibly bad and far too expensive. The vegan BBQ is a complete horror: tough, tasteless rubbery pieces with a sweet, gooey sauce. I'd rather not eat meat there, as there's no labeling of its origin or husbandry.

We are very dissatisfied because they supposedly rang the doorbell and called, and then the food was supposedly left on our doorstep. None of this happened. No refund. Lieferando's customer service is also a disaster. We won't order from them again.

The food didn't taste bad and was well seasoned, but I didn't like the way it was presented and the fact that it was difficult to understand.

Supaaaa food, the best there is

I live on this street, and we used to eat here regularly. It used to be delicious... The quality has since declined dramatically. Everything tastes of low-quality ingredients. Too salty and too sweet at the same time... Probably just too many flavor enhancers. At the same time, the prices have risen so much that they no longer reflect the product. The ambiance used to be simple, but even here, cost-cutting continues. The outdoor furniture used to be large and sturdy, but has now been replaced with simple beer benches and wobbly tables. So, UNFORTUNATELY, I can no longer recommend it at all. WHAT A PITY! Perhaps one of the owners will read this and, instead of simply expanding (how many stores do you have now) and focusing on volume, will want to pay more attention to quality again, even if you no longer need to.

In 2025, there won't be any more Yuza Lemon. It's a real shame. The food doesn't taste the same as before. What happened? I ordered bulgogi, and it definitely wasn't beef. I'm not even sure if it was meat at all. We won't be ordering from here again. 2022: Awesome!

The food definitely didn’t taste Korean. We ordered the kimchi pancake, which was overly fried and oily but passable. The plant-based BBQ had zero Korean flavour. It felt more like a generic fusion spot, with Korean music playing in the background just for vibes. The place looked great in photos, but the food was honestly below average. Service was fine.

I used to buy a size medium for 8.90. When I went there today, I realized that it was only one size, which is the same as the previous medium size, but at the price of the previous large size (11.50) 2.60 euros increase, what a rip-off, capitalism still has a long way to go. What's more, the sauce doesn't taste the same, it's really too salty, I'll never go back there!

This snack bar used to be one of my favorite places for Korean food—but now it's just a disappointment. The portions have gotten smaller, the prices higher, and there's significantly less meat on the plate. Instead of regular cutlery, they've replaced it with disposable cutlery, which diminishes the dining experience. The declining quality of the chicken is particularly disappointing—sometimes there are even small pieces of bone in it. It's a real shame—I used to be a regular, but now I'll probably have to look for another snack bar.

Amazing food, but even better service! I've been ordering dinner at least once a week, and I have an allergy to exclude one ingredient which I called for only once (the first time). Ever since, I've never had to make a second call. They've always known not to include it in my order. To whoever is so attentative - Thank you!

I got the crispy chicken with rice but also with potatoes aswell as the hotdogs chicken classic and both were really good, a little more sauce would be nice though. Overall nice food and nice service.

It was a nice experience. I did go with my friends to there and we paided together ca. 30€ for 3 mains. The Crispy Chicken Classic was really crispy and I can just recommend to get it.

I was very disappointed with the fried chicken, looks really good on photo but actually the batter outside was way too thick so there is not much meat. Halfway through I dont feel comfortable having all the fried batter. The potato underneath was quite nice and crispy but overall it could have been better. Also sauce was very salty. + can pay with card & out door seats - No toilet

It's just fast food. If that's what you're looking for, it's fine.
