We've been there a few times and everything was always great. Drinks come super quickly, food tastes delicious except for the temperature. But what's a bit strange is what happens every time: After the 3-4 rounds, food just gets mixed up or not at all. Dishes that have been ordered do not arrive or are sometimes very late. Unfortunately, the temperatures of the fried dishes are often lukewarm and sometimes cold. Otherwise the food tastes really good. However, the service is sometimes very overwhelmed. Tables are no longer cleared and only after asking does an employee come and take the empty plates away. You also notice a certain level of stress among the staff.

Were with you for the first time and thought it was great. The only thing that's a bit annoying when you're sitting in the entrance area is the gym with the treadmills one floor above, which makes quite a bit of noise here and there. But the store was still pretty empty at the time, so you could hear it better.

The food is really tasty, but we lost our appetite relatively quickly because there were at least two mice under the neighboring tables. When we pointed this out to the waitress when we were paying, we were told that she would be very sorry, but that we couldn't prevent it because it was cold outside and the mice wanted to get warm. Disappointing experience – not recommended! Unfortunately, our visit to the Mikado was anything but pleasant. Although we were quickly shown to our table, we had to wait over 30 minutes before anyone even took our order. Several times staff walked past to clean other tables or bring food, but we were completely ignored. No greeting, no apology, not even a brief information that someone would take care of us straight away. Only when we became active ourselves did the staff react. The hygiene also left a lot to be desired - the tables, trays and cutlery were sticky. The staff was unfriendly and the food was carelessly slapped on the table. Absolutely not justified for the price! There is no difference from your average all-you-can-eat restaurant.

Today, on February 2, 2025, three of us arrived with a reservation. We were greeted by a young, unfriendly waitress. She asked all the guests in line at the entrance in an annoyed manner: "Reserved?!" Instead of being escorted to a table, the guests were told to choose one on the top right. Done, we sat at table 12. Reservation for 6:00 PM. We were seated at the table at 6:15 PM (still within the time limit). So we sat there and sat and sat and sat. Table 13, which arrived even later, was a bit impatient, and at about a quarter to 7:00 PM, she went to the unfriendly waitress, who then gave the tablets to the table to order. We also received the tablets at the same time, and our first order was taken from the tablet at around 6:50 PM. The first round… 50 minutes after arrival. But things can always get worse, which is why I personally didn't get to eat my first sushi until around 7:40 p.m., almost an hour later. So I'd been sitting there for an hour and a half without eating 😂 But the food was definitely fantastic! No, it wasn't. Compared to the previous times, it was the worst. What was supposed to be hot came cold, and what was supposed to be cold was almost warm. Several items didn't come at all, but a few items we didn't order did. I'm incredibly disappointed to have spent my birthday here today 🙃

There is a great choice of the stuff that you can try, the dessert menu is also amazing. I think I will go there again!

Today my friends and I went to Mikado Sushi to end the day. The shop is very nicely decorated and the food was really tasty! Unfortunately, our first order from “All You Can Eat” was partly incorrect. You can ignore that, but the end of our meal was truly a disaster. When we wanted to pay, we were informed for the first time that there was an internet disruption and that card payments were currently not possible. Unfortunately, no information was given about this in advance, nor was there a visible “Cash Only” sign. At first it was suggested to us that we should withdraw the money from the ATM machine in the Cinedom (we would have had to pay a fee of €5 there). Since we were a bit skeptical because the fee would not be covered and there was no ATM at our bank nearby, the service person offered us to pay via Paypal after a short while. After we agreed, she placed a small piece of paper with her email address on the table. When I wanted to transfer the amount to her via PayPal and selected buyer protection to be on the safe side, she reacted very hectically, impatiently and forcefully urged us to pay via “Friends & Family”. With this option you don't get the money back in the event of a wrong transaction, which is why I didn't agree with it. She justified this with a fee that she would incur for buyer protection. What disappointed me here is that she didn't offer to cover this fee in the event of this inconvenience. Unfortunately, that surprises me a lot... In addition, she showed no understanding for our concerns and treated us very unkindly. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again. Too bad...

Unfortunately only one this time * We've been here so many times, everything has actually always been very good. Six of us got a table upstairs directly at the door, second table on the left. Our request for space was not taken into account. With the temperatures below zero that we currently have, it was very cold and almost unbearable for the 2:15 hours. Many guests in the entrance area were sitting at the table wearing jackets. Many of the dishes we ordered just didn't come, so we had to order them a second or even a third time. All of this took time and you didn't come close to getting your money's worth. After 2 hours 15 minutes we were asked to pay and leave the table. You could have come 10 minutes earlier and said, it's time, the next reservation is already there. But don't say we have to clear the table and not in such a sudden move. The tables were cleared very slowly, everything piled up, we had e.g. There are 10 bottles and a few Kölsch glasses on the table that were only cleared away after an hour. The sushi quality and meat quality was also better, everything had no taste at all or was very dry. Unfortunately I think we had the wrong day, wrong place and wrong time.

We look forward to reserving a table for the whole family. The evening was an unparalleled failure. The drinks were overpriced, 1 x a bowl of wasabi, ginger and soy sauce for the table, but that was it. All hot dishes were cold. Annoying with the fried things. A satay skewer was so hard that I had to return it. When paying I was deliberately not asked if everything was OK. You don't seem to care. It's a shame, I'll definitely never come back.

Unfortunately, our visit to Mikado wasn't entirely convincing. Despite reservations, we had to wait a long time to be assigned our seats. The assigned table was close to the entrance and exit, which meant it was constantly drafty and very cold - which was unpleasant. The drink service was pleasingly quick, but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. The fried items in particular were cold, which is disappointing for an all-you-can-eat experience. The service was attentive, but the staff seemed extremely stressed, which affected the entire atmosphere. Everything seemed very hectic, which made the meal less relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, a rather mixed experience that we would have liked to be more relaxed and of better quality.

We were regular customers in the store for a long time, but the price-performance ratio has no longer been right for about a year. You pay €35 for the food alone, which unfortunately doesn't do justice to the quality and service. It has to be said that we are big sushi lovers and have already tested many restaurants. At Mikado you get mediocre sushi that focuses more on quantity than quality. It tastes good, but you can get better (and be full) elsewhere for the same price. What bothers me more than the quality, however, is the service: poorly trained staff and, especially in the evenings, very long waiting times for service and the delivery of the food. The kitchen can no longer keep up with the number of orders. You can get 5 items per person every 15 minutes. order, but the majority of the order only arrives after 20 minutes or is even completely forgotten. If the food is prepared incorrectly and is cold, this is a shame for the price mentioned above - large selection or not. Even though the atmosphere in Mikado is very chic, we decided not to visit this store anymore.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mikado All You Can Eat Restaurant and I have nothing but positive things to say! From the moment I entered the restaurant I was amazed by the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The selection of dishes is simply impressive! From fresh sushi to a variety of Asian specialties, there is something for every taste. I would particularly like to emphasize the quality of the ingredients, everything was fresh and tasted excellent. The “All You Can Eat” concept allows you to try different dishes and I enjoyed discovering new tastes. The portions are generous and the staff was always attentive and helpful, which made the visit even more pleasant. Another plus is the attractive ambience, which is suitable for a relaxed dinner with friends as well as for special occasions. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit! A real highlight for all lovers of Asian cuisine!

I was at Mikado Sushi & Grill for the first time yesterday and I absolutely loved it. The restaurant impressed me from the start: the atmosphere is modern, but still cozy, and you immediately feel welcome. The all-you-can-eat concept is really ingenious. You can conveniently order using a tablet and the dishes come to the table super quickly. The selection is huge – from sushi classics to warm dishes, some also grilled. Everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and really tasty. I particularly liked the salmon variations and the fried rolls. What I also thought was great: Even though it was busy, the service was great. The staff were friendly, attentive and always made sure that we were completely satisfied. I was a little worried about the price at first, but it was worth every penny. The quality of the food and the entire experience simply make it a perfect evening. I will definitely come back and can only recommend it to everyone!

Literally the worst all you can eat I've ever been! The beef was overcooked and you couldn't even chew it. The fish was not fresh, you can notice from the taste that it was quite old. The rice was too sticky and old. And you pay a lot in comparison of the quality of the food. We departed after only an hour, I wouldn't be surprised if we got food poisoning.

The Mikado restaurant in Cologne offers a good selection of dishes that really taste impressive. Unfortunately, on our last visit we had the impression that some dishes were only served lukewarm, which diminished the enjoyment a little. The service was mixed: There are obviously temporary staff who don't have much experience in the catering industry, which sometimes has a negative impact. A little more training and attention could certainly help to improve the overall impression. A disturbing factor are the two gripping machines in the entrance area, which are more reminiscent of a fair than a restaurant. In addition to the questionable aesthetics, they also contribute to a sometimes unpleasant background noise when guests are loudly busy there. Conclusion: Mikado has culinary potential, but there are some points that make the visit less pleasant. Better service and a more appropriate ambience could significantly improve the overall experience.

Overall, the food is quite tasty, but for us the price-performance ratio is no longer right. Addendum from December 10th Because of the positive reviews, we wanted to test the store again. Conclusion: our three stars were also reduced by 1 star. We ordered sushi with cream cheese and cucumber and with mango and duck. You can see these in the picture. The cream cheese was forgotten in the first sushi and the mango in the second. When the waitress pointed this out, there was a loud discussion with us, so that some other guests even turned to us. We then tried again with a second waitress. She then called the original waitress and there was a loud discussion again. At a price of around €35 per head, offering such a service is a disgrace. We felt extremely uncomfortable and left the store shortly afterwards because we had lost our appetite thanks to the discussion. Impossible. We're definitely not coming back

I didn't fully understand the hype surrounding this restaurant. It was very loud. Udon noodles cold, dumplings cold, spring rolls cold. The sushi portions were always kept very small. This place has to be one of the worse restaurants i have ever been too. Poor 🥴 food 🍽 quality especially for the price 💶. Terrible 😡 service avoid avoid avoid!! Gave me food poisoning 🤢🤮. Gave me re-heated food three times. And then tired to charge me for the food. Disgusting I have already emailed environmental health. Place needs closing. Japanese lady was so rude 😤.

Despite having an existing reservation, we had to wait half an hour today before it was our turn. The food was OK, but nothing special. It was far too salty for my taste, so I had to drink a liter of water afterwards. However, the main reason for my one star rating is the service. I have certainly visited over 70 restaurants in my life, but I have never experienced such unfriendly and unprofessional service. There was neither a friendly greeting nor a farewell, and the food was almost thrown on our table. Several times we received orders that we hadn't even ordered, which indicates that the waiters are not concentrating on their work. In addition, something fell to the ground every 15 minutes, which further reinforced the impression of a lack of professionalism. The highlight, however, was the bill situation. After asking nicely, we had to wait over 20 minutes. When we asked again, the staff reacted extremely unfriendly and asked us in an unprofessional tone to keep waiting. When we finally wanted to leave the restaurant, we couldn't use the main exit because a waiter was cleaning up spilled food. We tried to go past the counter, but were also rudely told to use the main course - even though this was simply not possible at that moment. I am speechless at how unfriendly and disorganized this restaurant is. I will avoid this place in the future and can only advise against anyone having similar experiences. The price/performance ratio is in no way reasonable and I regret giving this restaurant any business. It was by far the worst restaurant visit of my life.

The food was chewy and very salty. The chicken was still raw. Staff was very rude, we respectfully indicated that we did not like the food. Staff walked away and did not help us further. We waited for 20 minutes and then spoke to someone else. We wanted to find a nice solution, but they did not agree to this. In the end we had to pay the full amount, even though we only ate 1 round. So not recommended.

I was with two friends in the restaurant Mikado Sushi and Grill at Mediamarkt. The food was good, but we saw a mouse running around the restaurant during the evening. We wanted to handle the situation discreetly and brought it to the attention of the restaurant manager so that possible action could be taken. He told us that the mouse problem in the restaurant was already known and that there were an increasing number of mice in the outside area of the Mediamarkt. It is understandable and not untypical that there are mice and other rodents in a city, but it seems to me untypical to have rodents in a restaurant. The manager simply didn't respond to us and couldn't understand our concern that it was unhygienic. It cannot be ruled out that mice can get into the restaurant area through open doors, but we were still hoping for more understanding and accommodation from the restaurant.

Ohne Reservierung sind wir an einem Freitagabend spontan ins Mikado Sushi & More, da wir im Motel One am Mediapark Köln übernachtet haben. Zum Glück haben wir noch einen Tisch bekommen. Sofort waren wir von der stylischen Einrichtung begeistert. Wir hatten Nigri, Maki, Inside-Out-Rolls, Yakitori- und Gambas-Spieße. Alles war sehr lecker. Es war ein schöner Abend.

View very nice shop. Service extremely unfriendly, literally throws the plates on the table, can't laugh and doesn't even say what kind of food you get at the table. We had to see for ourselves what we had. Then the system probably still needs to be worked out. We ordered round 5, round 5 arrived quickly but we hadn't received round 4 yet. Sometimes we had to ask several times from round 1 because it just didn't come. Well, very expensive for what you get. We wouldn't recommend there are better sushi shops in Cologne

Great restaurant with an authentic flair, the star deduction is actually because of the exorbitant prices as they feel like they're raised even if it's at the Mediapark/Cinedom and some dishes unfortunately contain pork, which is why I particularly recommend the sushi for my Muslim siblings 🫶🏻

We were there today with 3 people. It was busy but we got a seat quickly. You had to wait a very long time for food. When you placed an order, everything didn't come all at once, but sometimes that. On top of that, 80% of the food was always cold. I then asked a waiter if it was normal that it was cold and I only got the answer: “It’s busy”!! Paid €128 for three people! I would have preferred to go to a steak house. I'm not coming anymore.

Service is nice, food is great. The music was a tad too loud. We have all-you-can-eat. The food came quickly. The portions were okay. The pieces of meat on the skewers were a bit big, but it's just a meat skewer. All in all we were satisfied and will definitely go again.

We waited a little over 10 minutes to be brought to the table and another 20 minutes to get our tray to order. There weren't enough chairs at the table, so one person had to stand next to the table for 10 minutes until a chair was free. Unfortunately it is quite narrow between the individual tables, but the food was great as always. All in all, my worst visit so far.

Despite reservations, entry was delayed because many guests wanted to be seated at the same time that evening. We were then able to choose the table for two ourselves. Service took a while because there was just a lot going on. Ordering was easy, but here too we waited a long time for the food and drinks we ordered. Unfortunately there are a few unfriendly waiters which is why I had to deduct a point. I understand that you have a lot to do, but slapping the plates on the tables just doesn't look good. This restaurant has a good selection of sushi with great lunch deals. The quality of the food was good and the price is reasonable and exceptional with the lunch deals. However, the service is just ok and can be quite slow. I went there in an afternoon there were just two table there including me but they forgot my drinks orders and I need to request it again after 20 mins. Overall it was just an ok experience.

Incredibly bad service, Ordered food at 7:07 p.m. and was told at 8:00 p.m. that our food was in the car and the driver would be there within 15 minutes. Called again at 9 p.m. and asked. The driver should be there again 15 minutes later. At 10 p.m. there was still no sign of the ominous driver. From this point on, our calls were rejected several times and remained unanswered.

The food is pretty tasty. The sushi art gets 8/10 points from me. There are better ones, but then you're really in the top league. ;-) What really bothers me and why I often go a little further to the next, also good store: there is no card payment. But when the average cost per dish, at least for me, is 30 to 40 euros, it's simply no fun to always look for an ATM. Otherwise, as I said, a nice shop!
