Mikado in Meerbusch

We wanted to spend a nice evening at the aforementioned restaurant… Unfortunately, the food was bad. The buffet was cold and inedible. The grill staff were unfriendly and the food was bad. We voiced our complaints… No one cared. The woman insisted that despite the poor quality, performance, and service, we still had to pay for everything. I had two half plates, while my companion only had one half plate! We had to explain to the staff three times which drinks we had ordered. Absolutely not recommended! Service was bad! The quality was poor, and the staff was unfriendly! Stay away! This has nothing to do with Mikado! Unfortunately misleading!

We were here for a company Christmas party. We were already suspicious that only 6-7 tables were occupied on a Saturday evening at 7:30 pm. The drink service was initially okay, although the first beer tasted flat and the first Cokes weren't cold. The food has to be divided into two parts for this review. The portion prepared fresh to order was tasty and quick to prepare. However, unlike previous visits, the selection of vegetables was very limited. The buffet, on the other hand, was disastrously bad. The chafing dishes were half empty, and the food inside was partly dried out and partly cold. Overall, it seemed very uninspired. This didn't change throughout the evening; there was hardly any replenishment. There was also very little choice for dessert; most bowls and plates were only filled with one or two items. The chocolate fountain wasn't in use; there was only strawberry ice cream and one turquoise-pink flavor. Overall, we were disappointed with the quality and service throughout the evening.

Chinese restaurant with all-inclusive service. A nice, pleasant restaurant with everything you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant, attentive service, and an outdoor terrace.

NEW REVIEW: Everything is different... what a shame. As long-time regulars, we can certainly attest to that. The food is greasy, tasteless, and the selection is dwindling. No more sashimi... such an important point for us... we really won't be coming back. What a pity! OLD REVIEW: We're regulars now. At least every two weeks! We've been to many Chinese buffets before... most of them are mass-produced and use a lot of frozen food. This one is different... the atmosphere is super cozy, the service is quick and friendly, and for a fair price, there's a fantastic buffet. The best thing is definitely the Mongolian grill. A huge selection, great sauces... always a highlight! We're already looking forward to our next visit. By far the best Chinese buffet!

Update at the end. (5* all around now) Friendly staff, good selection at the buffet. As usually quite fatty and seems to not always be the freshest frying oil, but definitely one of the best all you can eat places. Will come back again and recommend to friends. The sushi has improved as well and the sushi rice now has the right consistency and isn't too hard anymore. Third update: sad that the fresh veggies are gone for lunch, but really glad about the added vegan options for sushi. Very fresh rice, really yummy wakame, WELL DONE. I love it.

We visited Mikado for the first time today. Food buffet: huge selection, visually very well-presented, excellent quality, all dishes very tasty. Staff very friendly and nice. Price reasonable and ok. Completely satisfied. We'll definitely be back.

The buffet is truly top-notch...everything about it...the staff is super friendly...I love going there. We were there again today... well...the buffet...you can't really call it top-notch anymore...you can eat it...But we said we won't go there again...We think...it's not worth the money...unfortunately.

We were there on a Sunday evening and immediately got a table for three. The buffet had a wide selection, and the food was good, hot, and always plentiful. The waitress was very friendly.

The à la carte dishes were really good and plentiful. I found the amount was almost too much. Served in warming bowls. The buffet had a few weaknesses in terms of warmth and freshness. But there was a huge selection, and it was simply fun to try everything. Highlights were the chocolate fountain and the fresh ingredients in the back of the restaurant, which you could have sizzled fresh with a sauce of your choice. Service was incredibly friendly and accommodating.

A classic buffet with an additional grill and above-average sushi, considering this isn't a sushi restaurant. Very friendly service. During our visit, it wasn't completely crowded, so the noise level was also pleasant.

Large selection of food. Not particularly spicy. When the sun is shining and it's 20 degrees, you're not allowed to sit on the terrace because the staff are supposedly dressed too thin. Besides, the staff only serves drinks. The buffet is self-service. So I have little understanding for it.

Went there for dinner today at 2:15 p.m. Rooms and service top. The restaurant was only 1/3 busy. The buffet had some gaps and it took some time to be refilled. The selection of unprepared items was very good, lots of fish and meat, which were then prepared quickly, freshly and excellently. The dessert buffet was also good. Price performance, the nice atmosphere and service convinced us. Will come back. Yesterday at noon we “stopped” again and we were VERY satisfied. Nice, courteous staff, top selection and quality of the buffet food. The price-performance ratio is 100% right here. Clear recommendation! Always great. GREAT ambience, good buffet selection. Food from the buffet was okay, but the surrounding area isn't that nice

Well folks, where should we start, where should we end? Without paying much attention to the reviews, we decided to visit Mikado All you can Eat today on Valentine's Day. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very cold atmosphere that was more reminiscent of a cheap holiday hotel and invited us to leave quickly. We spent a good 1 1/2 hours there, but many items, such as the salad, were not refilled. The finished dishes were partly overcooked, huge pieces that didn't fit in the mouth, and salmon with numerous bones. The plates that we personally handed over to the chef to prepare took over 15 minutes to prepare, even if it was the only plate. Any food drowned in its own or someone else's juice. After the first plate we had a stomach ache. Even the fries, which we were offered one last chance at the end, were unacceptable. We cannot recommend Mikado All you can Eat to anyone. We would like to spare you photos.

Were there today around 2 p.m. Many dishes were only lukewarm and poorly seasoned. The Peking soup was an absolute disaster.

A typical all-you-can-eat&drink restaurant with friendly service and good prices (€33), free parking in front of the door, but: *food in the buffet was more lukewarm than hot * fried food in buffet was soggy; baked at too low a temperature * meat from the grill was overcooked * dropping off a plate of meat at the grill is quick, but getting it back to the table takes a very long time * not much choice (in our opinion) * no explanation of how the system works (there are signs at the grill that you can add extra sauce) * service is not always fast & attentive Summary: If only I had listened to my wife, we would have eaten a schnitzel in another restaurant.... This restaurant was very disappointing. We also found good Asian restaurants in Germany, but clearly not this one!

Für uns ist Mikado zu einer Tradition geworden, wo wir mit Freunden und Familie gerne unsere Zeit verbringen und lecker essen. All you can eat and Drink bietet sich für einen ausgelassenen Abend an. Freundliches Personal und tolles, leckeres Essen. Gerade der Grillbereich ist super, die Organisation läuft reibungslos und die Auswahl an Sushis wird auch immer größer und leckerer. Mir fehlen nur noch die Sushis mit Omelette! Als Nachspeise findet auch jeder seine Lieblingsspeise - erstaunlich ist es, wenn sie Kiloweise frische Erdbeeren oder Granatapfelkerne anbieten. Für uns ein mega Genuss! Klare empfehlung für Groß und Klein!!

Das früher sehr gute Asia-Restaurant mit Buffet hat seine ehemals gute Qualität wirklich eingebüßt. Schon zweimal haben wir ihm noch eine Chance gegeben, aber vor allem die Taktik nicht mehr aufzufüllen, so dass man sich z.B. nur noch an vereinzelt rumliegenden Makis mit billigen Füllungen bedienen kann (und das schon um 19 Uhr) hat mich besonders geärgert. Im Reisbehälter war auch immer nur eine Restmenge zu erblicken. Das hat gerade deshalb große Bedeutung, weil fast alles andere eine nur mittelmäßige Qualität hat und niemand von unserem Tisch ein wirklich gutes Hauptgericht hatte. Auch der Nachtisch war, abgesehen vom Frischobst, ein eher trauriger Anblick: Eisbehälter enthielten um 20.15 Uhr nur noch Reste, die man nicht einmal mit bereitgestelltem Löffel herauskratzen konnte. Schlagsahne gab es gar nicht. Die gestresste Bedienung räumt irgendwann nicht mehr die benutzten Teller weg. Ab 21.30 Uhr mahnt dann ein Konzert von Besteck, das in die Schubladen geworfen wird, den Gast baldigst zu gehen. Insgesamt hatten wir den Eindruck, dass hier das All-You-van-eat- Konzept ökonomisch nicht aufgeht. Wenn das funktionieren soll, braucht man super Qualität, die jeden Abend das Lokal voll werden lässt. Wenn man, wie hier im Mikado, an allen Ecken und Enden spart, ist das für Gäste, die zufrieden nach Hause gehen wollen, nicht die richtige Location.

Very nice restaurant. Was there today with my husband. Pleasant atmosphere. There was a huge selection of dishes from the ready-made buffet, something for everyone. You can also have food fried. Great meat and fish dishes, various sauces and also vegetables. We had the All you can Eat and Drink meeegaaa. We came from Bochum and definitely won't be there for the last time. We recommend it to everyone. The service staff are very nice and courteous and fulfill every wish Thank you for the lovely evening with you

Wir waren regelmäßig hier. Leider ist die Qualität nicht mehr gut. Leckere abwechslungsreiche Speisen am Buffet wurden durch günstigere Gerichte ausgetauscht. Die Ente oft trocken und zäh. Gerichte können am Grill zubereitet werden, wenn kein chinesischer Koch hinter dem Tresen steht, ist das Essen meist noch schlechter zubereitet. Wir haben dem Lokal so viele Chancen gegeben, da dies früher wirklich ein tolles Restaurant war und wir davon ausgingen, einfach mal Pech gehabt zu haben. Das Pech hielt leider an. Seit dem die Chefin im Eigenen Hotel fast nur noch tätig ist, ging es spürbar abwärts. Zudem fehlt ihr immer zu freundliches und sympathisches Wesen im Restaurant.

The ambience and service are very good. Unfortunately, the food is only mediocre compared to other Chinese buffets in Kempen and Willich. In direct comparison, it is more expensive at EUR 24.50 than elsewhere. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Solid buffet with a lot of choice and teppanyaki. The focus there is on fish and seafood, but also beef, turkey, pork, lamb and exotic kangaroo. Tasty dishes, rather subtly European seasoned or adapted, but delicious. Very friendly service, empty plates are taken away quickly. Also suitable for vegans.

I'm not a big fan of Chinese food and have therefore avoided this restaurant so far. But today I HAD to go and I completely regretted my previous attitude. Very tasty food, you can also go there as a non-Chinese eater. Large selection of salad, fish, meat and dessert. Very friendly staff and in my opinion good value for money. After many years of ignoring it, I'll be going back soon and I'm already looking forward to it. Update June 2nd, 2023: Still a very good restaurant, always happy to come again. Update 10/3/23: Quality of the food has deteriorated somewhat, e.g. Salmon. Like everywhere else, the price is a bit higher.

My son is in the therapy clinic and we were looking to satisfy our hunger. Mikado absolutely suited us. Very friendly staff. Great lunchtime buffet and reasonable prices. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately I can't understand the good reviews. In terms of taste, the food is bland and sometimes too cold and mushy. Unfortunately, not all dishes were labeled (correctly/sufficiently). There were some small flies and animals in the containers for the sushi and desserts. The selection is sufficient, but a lot of work should be done on quality. The waiters were nice and attentive. The atmosphere is nice, here and there you could renew a few things or hide them for the guests. The toilet rooms are clean. Parking spaces are available. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend a visit.

Solid buffet with sufficient selection and variation. There is definitely something for everyone, be it kids wanting fries and chicken nuggets or people looking for Asian dishes. Even if the taste wasn't outstanding, you can eat subtly spiced and warm things here. The service could be friendlier, but the experience here was still quite nice. In terms of price, it's definitely worth it.

One of the best Asian restaurants with first-class sushi! - very friendly service - high hygienic level - Fair prices - excellent selection of vegetables, meat, fish etc. We are happy to accept what is actually a long journey - also in view of the fact that there are closer competing locations; My parents even regularly come here from over 70 km away just to eat!

First of all, the Seevice is super friendly and attentive. Really very nice waiters! Really all the stars there are! The location is great! The atmosphere was super cozy and we immediately felt at home. BUT…. Actually, I really avoid bad reviews and am very tolerant. But here I absolutely don't understand how people can rate that the food and the selection are great. I've been to a few all you can eat buffet restaurants across North Rhine-Westphalia. This is really sad. The selection of warm specialties is extremely modest and 20% has nothing to do with the “Asian world”. A horror in terms of taste. Very oil heavy. It is sometimes not labeled what contents are in e.g. gyoza or the spring rolls. We are really disappointed with the food. Such a shop… So much potential!! Oh dear oh dear... We hope for improvement and are sure that the operator can do that if he wants.

Today we had dinner there with family. I have to say that unfortunately a few things have changed for the worse. The food used to be much better and had a lot more choice about 2 years ago. I've been there several times now. The quality of the food has decreased and the selection is no longer what it used to be, which I actually think is a shame. The prices have increased but the food has gotten worse. The Cola has almost no carbon dioxide Ordered several times on different days. It's actually not Cola but Sinalco Cola. Probably homemade stuff. I actually think that if you raise prices, you should also raise the quality and the selection too. 2 points deducted for that. Otherwise, as always, the ambience was good. Staff friendly.
