The food is good, the meat a bit dry, but not everyone likes it. We went with several people. Everything went smoothly without a reservation.

A fantastic evening at the Metropolitan Sports Bar! We had a truly wonderful evening at the Metropolitan Sports Bar in Esslingen. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed – and what made the evening truly special was our waitress, Sabine. She was super attentive, friendly, and, above all, extremely patient with our special requests for the food. Everything was executed exactly as we wanted – not to be taken for granted these days! Even when we briefly encountered technical difficulties while watching football, she immediately took care of it and found a really good solution so we could still watch the game. You can just tell that she runs the place with passion and really takes the time for her guests. Many thanks to the entire team – and especially to Sabine. We'd love to come back!

For a bill over €100, card payments weren't accepted. The employee said it wasn't technically possible in the smoking area and had never been possible. For me, it doesn't matter how good a store is if card payments aren't accepted, hence only one star.

Whether for a drink, dessert, or dinner, it's always a good recommendation. All the dishes so far have been delicious and plentiful. The variety could be better; I haven't found anything special yet. The drinks and cocktails, on the other hand, are very good and definitely worth recommending. The prices are reasonable. The staff and service were very good and always tried to accommodate requests. The wait wasn't too long, even during peak hours.

All in all, everything is good here. The food is tasty, but nothing exceptional. They serve quite good drinks, and most of the staff are friendly.

Very nice ambiance. The waitresses are all very nice and friendly. But the food is a complete disaster. The fries were hard as rocks and very salty. The lettuce on the burger was bitter as hell, and the meat was as dry as a shoe sole. The pork medallions were very dry, and the fried potatoes were also too salty. The price is also very, very high. Not again.

We went there on Saturday after the cinema. We reserved a table in advance. The service was friendly and quick. The steak and salad were first-class. It was one of the best steaks ever.

There's a lot of variety on offer, and so far everything has been delicious. The service was excellent, especially a waiter named Dario, who was particularly friendly to us.

I used to really enjoy coming here, but the prices they're charging these days are truly appalling. Drinks are now served in 0.4l and 0.2l sizes instead of the previous 0.5l and 0.3l sizes – at increased prices, mind you. The food portions have also become significantly smaller. Unfortunately, this all seems more like a rip-off than an improvement in quality.

The worst burger I've ever eaten. The meat was tough and undercooked on the inside, and the fries were also tough and undercooked. I didn't even want to eat it—a total disappointment! The waitress was friendly, which was the only positive thing. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing; the food really wasn't good.

I was recently at the METRO Bar, a truly pleasant place with a relaxed atmosphere, billiards, darts, and everything you need for a successful evening. I'd especially like to highlight our waiter, Dario: attentive, personable, and simply all-around professional. You can tell he enjoys his job, and that makes a real difference as a guest. My husband and I have been to the Metropolitan for dinner several times; we like to combine our restaurant visit with a movie. The food is always delicious; there's something for every taste, from burgers to pizza, to salads, snacks, and cocktails 🍹with or without alcohol. The service staff is very nice and friendly. We always enjoy coming here.

Good food and drink selection in American diner style. Very friendly and attentive staff.

Unfortunately, there's no food left after midnight, which is a real shame. The nice, good-looking waitress brought us the wrong drinks. And a quick tip: don't order iced tea; it tastes like Aldi syrup or something.

It's solid but not cheap. The only reason you go there is for the billiards, but the prices there have now risen to €60 even for an evening, plus about €4-6 per drink, and food costs from €14 upwards. I recommend eating at the Italian restaurant or something next door. The food is a thousand times better and cheaper, and there should be alternatives for billiards soon, so it's only a matter of time before there's finally a reasonably priced place. Update: The prices are still not cheaper, and it's always shocking that a 0.4 oz Pepsi costs over €4. Card payments are also only accepted for €30 or more, which I find very odd.

In the evening it is a bit loud and crowded but if you come a little earlier everything is great.

The restaurant is characterized by its cozy atmosphere and attractive outdoor terrace. However, the terrace's inconvenient location compromises comfort, but this is a location issue and not due to service or quality. The menu offers a diverse selection for every taste. The portions are generous and flavorful. The Metropolitan is therefore always a recommended address for cocktails, cold drinks, pizza, or pasta.

It's a shame that the service wasn't good. We had several servers and one with black hair was completely out of place in the service area. Unfriendly and disinterested, for example when asking how the dessert was. The dessert was a complete rip-off. After 7:30 p.m. there is no more crepe batter and the one crepe that still had enough batter was dry. Sometimes the waiters stand in a group and then no one is there. If you have anything to drink you are asked if you would like something and if you have nothing left nobody comes and asks. Nobody seemed to care in the slightest that we wanted to pay. The bill was passed on but the waitress with black hair wasn't interested. I generally like a relaxed atmosphere and using the informal "du" form of address. If people use the informal "du" form of address with me it doesn't matter to me, but you shouldn't just use the informal "du" form of address with a woman who is considerably older than the waitress.

You can eat well and cheaply. Staff young and friendly.

Very unfriendly service, I have the feeling that the service staff ignore women and only serve men, probably because of the tips, I am blatantly ignored every time, the coffee is usually cold, pomegranate tea hasn't been available for more than a year, no effort is made to correct the menu, I personally don't like the food.

Whenever I'm in the Esslingen area, I love going to the Metropolitan. They have a large selection of food and drinks, and they taste great. The only downside: they don't accept card payments!

Here you can eat, drink cocktails, play billiards and darts. The desserts are also delicious. We love coming here.

If u wanna eat in between mouses. Then definitely come here! I came here for the third time because my other 2 times was good. But this time everything was bad. At first there is a mouse walking where u heard a server scream cause of the mouse. Then my food came. The plate from my girlfriend was full of sauce and my triple cheese burger, was dry. It wasn't cooked good enough and the cheese was completely trash. After telling the server that I ain't paying for my plate, she asked the boss for advice. The boss found it a great idea to not pay for the burger, but doesn't want us to come back. Well, good! Because I wasn't planning too anyways. This is the last time I come here.

Unfortunately, the schnitzel with fries was a huge disappointment. The meat just tasted strange, I can't even put it into words. It also didn't look appetizing. Fries were quite good.

I was disappointed with a classic where you have to assume that this shouldn't be a problem anymore. I'm talking about SchniPoSa, better known as schnitzel with fries and salad. The fries were really mushy and the schnitzel was tough and dry. I didn't expect that from a restaurant that has been in the Dickareal for many years. My companion was also a bit “picked up” by her food (pasta). I think these are two classics that should be sold without complaint. Maybe the famous breath of fresh air is missing?!

We were at the Metropolitan on Saturday evening in the non-smoking area. The employees seemed completely annoyed, showed no interest in the guests and lacked any friendliness. We waited in vain for our dessert – no questions, no apologies. After a long wait we just left. Completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this class.

The Metropolitan is a really great place with a large selection of delicious drinks and food/snacks. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere invites you to linger. Another plus point: There are enough parking spaces in the parking garage, so your visit is relaxed. However, I deducted one star because the billiards area is not optimally designed. In the smoking area, some guests sit directly at the pool table (when it is full), so it is hardly possible to play undisturbed. That spoils the experience a bit. Otherwise a clear recommendation – a nice spot for a good evening!

We are there often. Drink a beer and eat, including watching football. Food is great, drinks could be served quicker...a big drawback is that you can't pay by card. And that would be appropriate, especially with what you eat and drink.

I was there recently and was completely disappointed. The chaos began as soon as I ordered: I wanted a London Mule - it doesn't exist. So I asked for a Moscow Mule – also not on the menu. Absolutely incomprehensible for a restaurant with a bar. How can it be that common cocktails are not offered? Then I thought I'd have an espresso martini. But no, that wasn't possible either, because the coffee machine had already been cleaned and switched off a whole hour before closing time. Incredible! How can you just stop operating in a bar that is still open, as if the guests are disturbing?! The service was also completely disinterested and didn't even try to offer an alternative. Instead you were fobbed off with a shrug of the shoulders. I have rarely experienced such an unprofessional and listless attitude. There is no emphasis here on guests or on a reasonable bar culture. Anyone hoping for good service, a decent drink selection, or just a pleasant experience should avoid this place. Once and never again!

Today we sat indoors on the sofas in front of the bar. The waiter in our area was completely overwhelmed and kept letting his bad mood out to his colleagues for no reason. In our opinion, completely unacceptable and unsustainable. He should definitely reconsider his career choice. The food was good and plentiful.

We wanted to have a nice evening. The ambience is nice. The waitress came and we didn't know what we wanted to order, so we asked for a moment. The waitress was already half annoyed. She came back and we ordered our drinks. Unfortunately you don't have the opportunity to order food for us. We sat there for over 40 minutes trying to order food. But the waiters preferred to play on their cell phones or have private entertainment in the kitchen. Annoyed, we now leave without eating. We drove 30 km for this! Once and never again

On a Tuesday evening we visited the Metropolitan as a couple and were looking forward to a relaxing evening. The menu offers an extensive selection with something for every taste. I chose the fitness plate with grilled chicken breast fillet, a baked potato with sour cream filling and a side salad. The chicken was excellent - wonderfully juicy and not at all dry, which particularly impressed me. The baked potato was also generously portioned and tasted perfectly. The fresh side salad complemented the dish perfectly. My companion chose the Vato Loco Burger with fries, which also tasted great. Unfortunately, a small organizational mishap spoiled the otherwise positive impression: My dish was served about 10 to 15 minutes before the burger because there was a problem with the receipt roll in the kitchen, which meant we had to eat at a different time. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Metropolitan remains a solid choice. For years it has been impressing with consistently good cuisine and inviting leisure options with pool tables and dart machines - perfect for a sociable evening with friends.

We often come here before we go to the cinema or when we want to play billiards or darts. Delicious food and large portions, but it's always busy and you usually have to wait so long for billiards. In the meantime you can drink delicious cocktails.

Yesterday I had a pizza that unfortunately didn't taste good at all. Also no card payment possible. A real shame for such a big restaurant.

New prices have been in effect since January 1st, 2025. Unfortunately, it is not very professional if both the old and the new card are handed out at a table. We ordered the new Schwabenteller dish twice - and were honestly shocked. A single Maultaschen (which also looked like a cheap supermarket product), a bit of potato salad and cheese spaetzle, which used to be much better? This is really disappointing. How can it be that such a dish is even served in this form? Aren't you ashamed to offer something like that as a meal? We were always very nice employees. After 14 years, we will unfortunately avoid the “Metro” in the future.

Great store. I'd love to go there. The staff once again looked after us well and showed presence. We wanted to eat something in the morning and were told that the kitchen wouldn't open until later and the staff noticed it and came to us straight away at 11:30 a.m. and asked if we would like to eat something. There would definitely have been some people who wouldn't have noticed.

Since it's a bar, I unfortunately can't give the food 5 stars, but I can give it a solid 4. The waitresses are always friendly, as they should be. Regarding the cocktails, I am more than surprised and satisfied. I was here several times with my girlfriend and ordered cocktails from the bartender named “Flo”, which he had to make himself to surprise us. He more than succeeded. The cocktails on the menu are good, but I recommend that everyone should be surprised by them.

The positive first: The atmosphere is very nice and you can often get a table at short notice. The food is very tasty and the prices have increased significantly, but are still okay. Another big plus is that the food always comes very quickly, even when the shop is full. 2 stars deducted because the current staff like to argue in the area and have become quite pushy. I used to really appreciate being asked if everything was okay, but now you're constantly being interrupted while eating and that gets tiring. Numbers often take a long time.

Been here very often. The food is great, the portions are large, whether it's pasta, salad, burgers or pizza. Price-performance is completely okay. Lots of seating, including outside in summer. The staff is friendly and competent. The toilets are clean so far, but unfortunately one floor higher. You can park in Dick or in the train station car park opposite.

Unfortunately, Metro isn't that good anymore, the food is very greasy or the quality is really shit. I wouldn't recommend it. In general, strangely enough, you can't pay by card and the waiters are pretty unfriendly.

I had dinner with my girlfriend today and ordered the fitness plate (baked potato with grilled turkey breast). On the one hand, it looked very carelessly prepared and I thought it was quite bold to charge €16.90 for this small portion (a small potato and maybe 120g turkey?!). Well at least the ambience was nice.

Hello everyone, I wanted to tell you briefly about my experience: I was there and ordered a burger. Unfortunately the patty was a bit dry in some places. At the end, when the waiter asked if everything was OK, I honestly told him that the patty was dry. He then replied in a cheeky tone that my plate was empty. When I wanted to pay, I was suddenly told that the card machine wasn't working and that I had to withdraw money to pay. I found it very annoying that I wasn't informed about this in advance, which is why I didn't give a tip. The waiter then reacted extremely rudely and even became really rude. Overall a bad experience - for me it's: never again!"

Finally a restaurant in Esslingen that serves meat. The staff obviously enjoy working here - it shows. The food came quickly, was hot and was really good. Everything came as ordered. I'll come back here.
