Overall, a disappointment. The staff practically chased us away. According to Google and the website, opening hours were until 11 pm, but all guests had to leave at 10:10 pm because, apparently according to Google, the correct opening hours weren't listed! We were told to check the website, which shocked us because the same times were listed there! We had a business meeting scheduled, but unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. Never again!

The burgers were good! However, a bit expensive...

Yesterday we wanted to spend a nice evening there; we've been there several times before. I had made a reservation, specifically requesting a table on the back balcony since it's quieter there. When I arrived and asked if we could sit there, I got a curt "no," as a group of 30 people was coming. That wasn't a problem, but during the hour and a half we were in the restaurant, no one else came, and then the place was only open for another hour. As a regular customer, I felt really silly. These days, the portions are getting smaller for the high prices, and the drinks are too expensive. Charging over €4 for a 0.33L Coke is outrageous. I really enjoyed coming here, but I'll definitely think twice about it.

After about 10-15 minutes, another server came to us and asked if we wanted anything else to drink—the round we had previously ordered hadn't even been taken. At that point, we lost patience and asked for the bill. Especially disappointing: While we were obviously waiting for service, the staff behind the bar were clearly having fun and celebrating amongst themselves instead of attending to the guests. All in all, a very sobering experience that we won't be repeating.

I went to Metropolis today – unfortunately, it was disappointing again. The tomato soup gave me terrible heartburn, the salad was already brown in places, and the Mediterranean pizza rolls were unfortunately very soggy. Only the Coke Zero was tasty. The atmosphere was loud, the acoustics were poor, and the room was overheated – I've noticed this before. I don't usually like going there anyway, but I had to this time for a meeting, and I immediately regretted it. Although there were many servers, they were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than in attending to the guests. After the meal, it took ages for the table to be cleared – annoying, since large tables are already in short supply. The highlight of the evening: Later, I found out that my friends, who stayed longer, still had to pay for my tomato soup, even though I'm sure I had mentioned them. Unfortunately, you HAVE to pay in cash, and now I don't have a receipt, so it's impossible to trace. ... Overall: disorganized, loud, uncomfortable – and disappointing in terms of quality. I will definitely avoid the Metropolis in the future.

Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in Germany. The waitress spoke to me in a rude tone simply because I placed a paper napkin on my empty plate—a completely normal occurrence in any respectable restaurant. Instead of politely explaining, she actually told me to "put the napkin in my pocket"! And as if that wasn't enough, the man behind the bar stared at me provocatively the whole time, as if he wanted to start a fight. The food was also a huge disappointment: I ordered a Caprese pizza, but it bore no resemblance to a real Caprese—large, roughly chopped pieces of tomato with no flavor, not a hint of balsamic vinegar, and a completely dry, tasteless dough. Absolutely not worth the money. Rude service, poor quality, and no respect for guests. I certainly won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone.

Yesterday, five of us were there and had a great time. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food, especially the pizza rolls, was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back, at the very latest, at the next movie theater.

The service was super friendly yesterday. The food was so-so; my currywurst was only lukewarm, but the portion was huge, with two beef sausages and a huge portion of sweet potato fries. For me, the Metropolis, next to the Luxor cinema, is a good choice for a casual meal. My chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce was delicious, the fries crispy, and the small salad fresh. The portion was more than sufficient. The service was okay, but not very attentive. Overall, though, a nice place for a relaxed meal before the cinema.

It's 2025. Summer peak season. A restaurant with outdoor seating and card payments isn't possible. According to previous comments, it hasn't been possible for months. Really stupid. We only had a drink, so one cash payment was enough. One person paid for everyone and the others transferred the money via PayPal. Solution 2025! We continued on empty stomachs...

My favorite spot in Walldorf! I eat at Metropolis regularly and I'm always impressed. The pizza rolls are super delicious – but the real star is the world's best avoli sauce! Creamy, spicy, simply heavenly. Great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere – highly recommended!

I was truly shocked by the behavior of the staff in this restaurant. I was particularly struck by a young employee who repeatedly gave me a cheeky look and demonstratively nodded her head – as if she wanted to show me how little she cared about my presence or my order. Such disrespectful behavior is completely inappropriate, especially in the restaurant industry, where friendliness should be a given. I felt neither welcome nor taken seriously. The service was generally rude and lackluster. It's sad that such behavior is even tolerated. This was definitely my first and last visit!

I was truly disappointed with my visit. The €19.50 Caesar salad was poorly prepared, tasted bland, and absolutely not worth the money. The service also left a lot to be desired: The waitresses were extremely slow, almost sleepy, and we had to wait a long time – both for the food and for simple things like drinks and the bill. Overall, the value for money here is completely out of the question. For these prices, I expect significantly higher quality food and more attentive service. We went for a cocktail before the cinema. Everything was fine up until then. However, when paying, it turned out that only cash payments were accepted. We might have seen the notices stating that card payments were currently not possible. However, since we went directly outside, we didn't notice them (they were hanging on the windows). Unfortunately, there was no verbal warning before ordering. However, we had no cash, or not enough cash, with us. The fact that the problem was ultimately passed on to us is not acceptable. All suggestions (PayPal, providing address or ID to pay later, transferring the money immediately on the spot) were vehemently rejected. In my opinion, that's not how you treat customers. Luckily, we were early enough to get money from the ATM and still made it to the cinema on time. It was €15, for which the ATM now charges fees (because it's a different bank). Unfortunately, we've lost a customer for the future.

Great food. The steak was buttery tender and the burger was extremely juicy. Very nice waitress. Highly recommended.

For an above-average price, I also expect an above-average meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't it at all. Accordingly, in my opinion, the price/performance ratio is not at all right. In addition, the food is brought on a plastic wrap coated with paper. The paper softens over time, comes off with the knife and inevitably ends up in the food at some point.

Quite often the top seats are all reserved, but no one comes Since we go to the cinema quite often, we have known the restaurant for quite a while. Nothing is freshly cooked, everything is just warmed or baked. The prices are comparable to a good restaurant that of course cooks fresh. Today I paid €4.20 for a small cola. I think that's a proud price. We will definitely visit another restaurant before the cinema where we think the prices match the quality of the food. .

March 24th, 2025 5:10 p.m. Wedding anniversary and something to eat before the cinema. We enter the restaurant and look for a table where there is no reservation. Waitress comes up and says “I won’t turn on the lights up there because of you, sit down” Okay, not exactly friendly but maybe a bad day. We sit downstairs at a double table. Waitress comes "Great, a double table for two. Then I'll just put two new tables together. Thanks for the work" We then got up and left. The restaurant was empty except for 6 other guests! This is completely unacceptable and disrespectful behavior and if just one employee of our four restaurants did this, they would be gone immediately!

Since our last review was deleted due to alleged defamation, we are now writing another one. We arrived and our order was taken. After we had to wait 40 minutes and asked several times, we were told that the order had not been passed on to the kitchen and that we would have to wait another 30 minutes. That was out of the question for us and we can only give it 1 star.

We used to always like to come here before going to the cinema. We were disappointed last time, but this time it was a disaster. The ambience is still great! Service is not good because very inexperienced, but everyone starts somewhere. The rest of the staff would rather chat at the bar than ask for drinks. All of this is still bearable. But the price-performance ratio of the food is completely outrageous. Everything looks careless and like ready-made food. Bad taste and then completely exorbitant prices. Burger €18 Chicken schnitzel with fries €23.50 amazing. That was definitely our last visit. It's really not about the last 3-4€, but then the performance has to be right.

I could sit at this bar for hours, the atmosphere is unbeatable, the service makes you fall in love and the bartender is the fiercest bartender I've ever seen, the cocktails are out of this world and are already at the table before you order.

I went on a Saturday afternoon to have coffee waiting for the children to leave the cinema and with the subsequent intention of having dinner and despite not having a reservation, the waitress found me a table for 4 even though the place was packed. The burger is nothing special and you are better off at BurgerKing and Co. Unfortunately, the appetizer platter also resembles a dumped KFC bucket. The drinks were very good. Today we had a nice meal at “Metropolis”. The food was tasty, although not "cheap". The service was extremely nice and friendly. The seating is a bit tight, so it wasn't easy to tune out the conversations from the next table.

A Caprese pizza, which is really one of the simplest, with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, which costs over €15 here, should actually be very good at this price. Unfortunately the pizza was more of the quality of a frozen pizza. You should think about what a pizza like this should look like and especially what it should taste like. It's not enough to add a few pieces of tomato and basil. I don't recommend pizza here. The restaurant was well attended and perhaps other dishes taste better?

The food was OK, but not special either. I've eaten pizza in particular much tastier and cheaper. The restaurant is fine if you happen to be in the area and are hungry.

It's a shame that there is no variety on the menu. The food is quite ok. The ambience, however, is great, especially the outdoor area. The staff is always very friendly and competent. I always enjoy drinking a coffee on the beautiful terrace.

We ate there, absolutely terrible burger... the meat was frozen and tasted like plastic and fat... it had nice, soggy bacon on it and that for a good 20 euros??? In general, the menu should be carefully reconsidered in terms of prices! And unfortunately no dogs allowed!

I really like the selection of food and drinks because there are lots of little things if you're not really hungry or if you have children with you. I really like the house-made lemonades, they are simply delicious and highly recommended.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. I used to like to go there before or after the cinema. Almost impossible now. The prices have gone crazy high. A starter with sheep's cheese and 3 pizza rolls for 15 euros!? For me it's not justified at all. If it was at least of good quality you would ignore it, but that's not the case. Very unfortunate.

It's been a long time since I went to the restaurant. Unfortunately, very overpriced prices for poor quality food. Burger with a frozen pattie and no fresh fries served. My companion had a carelessly prepared sheep's cheese that wasn't really cooked through. Given the quality and presentation of the food, a visit to eat is not recommended. There are much better ways to eat a meal at home. Service and drinks were all OK.

Unfortunately my rating is only 2 stars... Actually only deserves 1 star but I didn't want to be like that. We ordered a few things including chicken nuggets for my little one and a portion of fries for the big one. When the items arrived, the chicken nuggets came with fries and another portion of fries with ketchup. That surprised us We weren't even asked if we wanted ketchup or mayonnaise. We then asked for mayonnaise. There were only 4 chicken nuggets in a plate for a whopping 8.80 euros. In addition, one could have said that the nuggets were with fries, then we wouldn't have ordered an extra portion of fries. And then another 1 euro was charged extra for the mayonnaise.. Unfortunately not recommended... Then the air conditioning was turned off so you were very sweaty. . Never again....

The restaurant was a disappointment. The pasta didn't taste good at all and was way too expensive at €21. The waitress even wore sweatpants and wasn't particularly attentive because we didn't even get cutlery.

I had dinner here with my girlfriend and unfortunately it wasn't that good. Your order came fairly quickly, but mine was forgotten. Only after I asked after a long wait was my food prepared (rolls made from pizza dough), which shouldn't have taken that long. The food itself was tasty, but the prices were quite expensive. The staff was pretty friendly but not very attentive.

We were there spontaneously on Friday at 6 p.m. and wanted to spend a cozy evening for two. We were assigned a table that really wasn't comfortable because it was in the middle of the path. When we asked if we could get another table. We were told by the boss that this wasn't possible and that she wouldn't be accountable to us. After such an unfriendly manner we left the store. Additionally, the restaurant was empty.

Unverschämte Mitarbeiterin! Wir waren gestern Abend mit Freunden essen. Wir mussten super lange erstmal drauf warten, bis uns einer kassiert. Zum bezahlen mit der Karte sind wir nach vorne gegangen. Wir drei haben bezahlt. Ich habe sogar Trinkgeld gegeben, trotzdem ruft die Mitarbeiterin ihren Kollegen zu „ Trinkgeld könnt ihr heute vergessen“. Es tut mir leid, aber was soll die Aussage ?? Sie hat es super laut durch die gegen geschrien, ich weiß nicht ob es ihr „zu wenig“ war. Aber ich verstehe nicht, wieso sie das so selbstverständlich sieht, dann man super viel Trinkgeld geben muss. Wir sind gerne dort hin gegangen, aber nach so einer unverschämten Aussage, nie wieder!

We had dinner there two weeks ago and decided on the cheeseburger. We got a large burger and lots of side dishes too. You had to look for the meat between the large burgers, and there wasn't enough cheese on it either. However, we have rarely been so disappointed with the quality and taste of the burger. For just under 20 euros per burger it should taste better. Service was friendly, but preferred to chat with colleagues rather than pay attention to the guests. You get full, it wasn't tasty.

Unfortunately, price/performance is not consistent. Unfortunately we had a pizza that wasn't really tasty and the salad wasn't particularly good either. At best, rather poor snack quality and at a rather high restaurant price. A pity!

We were there about 1.5 years ago and were thrilled with the price-performance ratio. Now you pay for e.g. for a pizza salami €14.50, for a Cesar salad €19.50, 6 pizza rolls cost over €12. This is clearly too expensive for a restaurant of this class and location and cannot be justified with the increased VAT. At the upscale luxury Italian restaurant in the HD pedestrian zone you can get a real one! Italian pizza salami at €11.50 significantly less! The service was quick, but responded to our questions about how these massive price increases came about in a snippy and cheeky manner. The restaurant wasn't even a third full, and we probably won't come back either 😉

It wouldn't be right to give this place fewer than 5 stars; it is what it is and I frequent it often for just that reason. Metropolis is a pleasant local family-class after-work restaurant and bar that serves good pizza by a friendly staff. At one point during the 15 or so years my colleagues and I have been frequenting the place, my friend picked up the manager, married her, and produced a daughter; yea, it's a very family oriented locale.

Perfect for a restaurant visit with friends. Pizzas are super tasty and the price-performance ratio is fair. Also ideal to combine with a visit to the cinema.

My new benchmark when it comes to cheese spaetzle. The lamb's lettuce that came with it was excellent. There's also an extra point for service.

I love eating pizza there, but there are also many other delicious dishes.
