Metaxas Metaxa-Grill Achiliefs in Dortmund

Haben Sontag abends bestellt und da dauert es verständlicherweise etwas länger. Aber wir haben anstelle der versprochenen 50min insgesamt 2 Stunden gewartet. Nach einer Stunde rief das Restaurant an und meldete, dass ein Gericht nicht verfügbar sei, was ihnen aber vorher nicht aufgefallen war. Wir haben ein Ersatzprodukt bestellt, was aber eigentlich günstiger ist. Der Preis am Ende hat sich aber nicht geändert. Das Gyros Überbacken war versalzen und beim Nudelauflauf waren die Nudeln überkocht, also zu weich. Ich kann wie gesagt den Stress an einem Sonntag verstehen, aber von Entschuldigungen wegen der Umbestellung und vor allem späten Lieferung keine Spur! Im Gegenteil, es liefe angeblich alles sehr gut und nach Plan. Wie kann man so ignorant bzw. arrogant reagieren? …also, nie wieder.

Ein tolles Lokal, sind dort immer wieder gerne. Super nettes und kompetentes Personal. Und das Essen ist genauso ein Traum. Die Preise sind mehr als fair für das was man geboten bekommt. Für Freunde griechischer Küche und diejenigen die es werden möchten auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Currywurst mit Pommes zum Mitnehmen war aufgewärmt und Pommes matschig, ab in den Müll, seit der neue Besitzer da ist lieber meiden. Nur schade, das gegenüber Akropolis noch geschlossen war. Das ist echte griechische Gastfreundschaft. Qualität im Lokal und zum Mitnehmen eifach lecker

Die schlechtesten Nudeln überhaupt, schmeckt trocken und nach nichts und dann auch noch 16 Euro für ein Nudelauflauf der 3 cm groß ist... kann man nicht empfehlen

Ich habe mir Essen bestellt und musste über eine Stunde darauf warten. Als es endlich ankam, habe ich mich zunächst gefreut, wurde dann aber leider sehr enttäuscht. Die Pommes waren nicht gesalzen und das Fleisch war trocken und ohne Sauce. Insgesamt hatte ich eher das Gefühl, ein liebloses Fertiggericht bekommen zu haben. Sehr schade - ich werde dort nicht noch einmal bestellen.

Lieferant unfreundlich und wirft es mir bloß schnell schnell in die Hand. Das Fleisch war leider auch nichts, sehr trocken. Dazu kam ein Gericht falsch an als wir es bestellt haben. Wir werden leider nicht wieder bestellen.

Wir waren am 02.04.26 mit sechs Personen dort. Es gibt nix zu mosern. Essen super, Mitarbeiter freundlich und schnell und Preise völlig in Ordnung. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team!!!!

Gyros fettig und kalt. Leider überbewertet

Meine Großeltern bestellen dort manchmal als ihr persönliches Highlight, da sie nicht mehr so gut selber kochen können. Das werden wir ab sofort nicht mehr tun!!! Das Fleisch ist ungenießbar (von verbannt bis fettig alles dabei). Eigentlich teilen die beiden sich eine Portion Gyros. Das ging das letzte Mal leider nicht, da die Portion viel zu klein war. Für das Geld erwartet man eine gute Portion Gyros und eine angemessen Qualität! Gyros einfach nur ekelhaft. Wir haben um 13:40 Uhr angerufen und bestellt und mussten selbst um diese Uhrzeit 1 Stunde auf das Essen warten. Meine Großeltern wohne mit dem Auto 5 Minuten entfernt. Am Telefon auch sehr unfreundlich bzw kein Bock gehabt. Bei dem Lieferanten mit dem roten kleinen Auto kann ich mich den negativen Bewertungen auch nur anschließen. Bremst Leute auf der Straße aus, fährt über rot u.s.w gefährdet wirklich Menschen auf der Straße. Unmögliches Verhalten auch danach vom neuen Inhaber!!! Seit der neue Inhaber dort ist, ist leider nichts mehr wie es war. Meine Familie, Freunde und ich gehen schon seit Jahren dort essen, was wir unter diesen Umständen auf keinen Fall weiterführen werden!!!

Das Essen war gut. Ich hatte eine Gyros Pita. Das Fleisch hätte für meinen Geschmack noch krosser gegrillt werden können, doch es war sehr viel Betrieb und es gab sehr viele online Bestellungen, somit haben ich ein nachsehen. Die Portion war sehr großzügig und der Preis dafür völlig ok. Für meinen Geschmack hätte die Bedienung öfter mal nach dem "Rechten" sehen können. Für einen Schnellimbiss ist das Ambiente vor Ort sehr gut. Die Tische sind in einem Nebenraum. Doch es ist nicht mit einem Restaurant zu vergleichen. Wir waren mit 4 Personen vor Ort und sind alle satt und zufrieden wieder nach Hause gegangen.

Nichts verbrannt, nichts trocken = gutes Fleisch. Den Beilagensalat fand ich persönlich jedoch lieblos.

Bester Grieche. Frisch und schmackhaft.

We've ordered from there many times before. But today was the last time. You had to search for the toppings on the gyro pita. The gyro was soggy and greasy. A shame, especially considering the prices these days.

I got a pork steak instead of beef steak 😒

Never again. We ordered from Metaxa and waited a full three hours for the food. We called several times to check on it, and they repeatedly assured us the driver would be right there. When he finally arrived, the food was lukewarm and had a kind of spoiled smell. We reluctantly ate it anyway because it was already midnight, and well… it was a mistake. The casserole was completely oversalted to mask the bad taste. Bottom line: If you order food in the evening, you'll need a doctor's note the next day. I had a terrible case of food poisoning the following day, with all the usual symptoms. I was incredibly annoyed that I'd eaten that crap, but hunger really drove me to it. It's a real shame, because the place seemed very reputable with their ordering app. And so no one can say I didn't order from them, here's the order confirmation.

The menu says bifteki with feta. What was delivered was bifteki made with cheap Gouda.

Ordered via Lieferando: The food was partially inedible. The meat was cold and tough, the sauces were sour, and the currywurst was burnt. Delivery took significantly longer than stated. The sauces in the packets also leaked. Really bad for the price. I won't be ordering from here again. I can't comment on the quality of the food at the restaurant, of course.

The food was good, but unfortunately the driver in the red Toyota was very rude. His behavior was disrespectful and negatively impacted my experience. I hope the restaurant will pay more attention to the behavior of its drivers in the future.

It's a good Greek restaurant; I've eaten there many times and it was always good. Unfortunately, it seems there's been a change of ownership. The meat quality has declined significantly. What a shame!

The food was okay. What really bothered me was that it was cash only! Germany 2025. In my opinion, that's unacceptable. After the meal, there was no bill. The waitress stepped away briefly and then told us the amount. For me, that's a reason not to come back.

It's nice to sit outside. But that's about it. The soft drink is barely carbonated, and there's no discount, even though it was delivered differently than ordered. The bar area looks unkempt. (We only noticed this when paying, as we were seated directly on the terrace.) The baked appetizer was only lukewarm. There's no indication on the menu that card payments aren't accepted. Expensive for a snack bar, but the quality is no better than a poor snack bar. (1 water, 1 Sprite, 1 appetizer, and 1 vegetarian salad €26)

I was surprised. The impression from the street was completely different from the one inside the restaurant. It seems unassuming. But upon entering, a modern yet traditional flair is skillfully combined. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The meat is tender and tasty. The service is very friendly. I can recommend it without hesitation.

The food that was delivered was unfortunately terrible. The gyro (baked) was dry, hard, and even burnt over large areas. It was unfortunately inedible. Only the croquettes were tasty. What a shame.

By far one of the best grilled meats I've ever had. If you like liver, you'll get the best grilled liver here, too. Excellent quality and super tasty. I also had bifteki, and this special request was fulfilled. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Everything was beautifully clean during my visit, simply perfect. 👍🏻 This certainly won't be my last visit.

We were in Dortmund again! Our route led us to the Greek restaurant again. The food was delicious again! We'd love to go back!

It all started with the first call that was made, without thinking anything of it, my wife called at 7 p.m. to ask if there was a possibility of getting another alternative for the meat and the woman on the phone started to ask in a directly insulting tone whether we were serious about the question and how we could ask something like that and not know that pork is always eaten in Greece. So we still don't think anything of it and even apologize for asking something like that because we felt like we had made a racist statement. Almost 1 hour later the delivery person arrives without a greeting or answer, as if they had no human decency or respect. And the real problem is just beginning 😂😂 THEY SEND ME A BLOCK OF CHEESE WITH RAW PORK THAT WASN'T ANYWHERE THROUGH AND WITHOUT ASKING GIVED MY WIFE A MAYO SHOWER OVER THE FRIES WITH THE MOST UNEASY MAYO EVER. 9€ for gyros gratinated with cheese (raw meat with indelible cheese) around 10/11€ for a taxi plate (mayo soup over the fries), limp fries and absolutely inedible currywurst. All in all an incredibly bad experience and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!

Were there today. Had the Olympic plate, the gyros were juicy but not crispy, the cevapcici were a complete disappointment and tasted like they had only been briefly fried on each side but were otherwise raw. Fries and salad were good. It was also disappointing that not even ayvar was served with it. However, the service was top.

The food is no longer as good as it used to be, we always like to go there, but now we have been disappointed three times in a row, the food no longer tastes good, gyros were served far too light and far too greasy and the last buffet we ordered was all too dry and the rice and potato gratin was never for 10 people. It's a shame but it was the last time we were there.

It's a space halfway between a chip shop and a restaurant. A bit cramped, but the good food and friendly service more than make up for it. A smaller table would have helped. They didn't skimp on the hollandaise sauce...

10€ for something like that. Order smeared and leaked. Some salt is also missing. The store was much better back then. Significantly decreased. Not again.

Not delivered, but cashed in - absolutely dubious! I ordered via Lieferando, but the order simply wasn't delivered. Instead it was canceled but my money was not refunded. The restaurant refuses to issue a refund even though I never received the delivery. Several attempts to contact the restaurant were unsuccessful. Lieferando support couldn't do anything either because the restaurant simply stood in the way. Treating customers like this is absolutely dubious and unacceptable. Anyone who orders here risks losing their money without receiving anything in return. Never again!

I ordered gyros there which had unappetizing defects. I called them and complained and within 10 minutes the new gyro was delivered to me, this time absolutely perfect. I've been eating there for 7 years and have never had any complaints. Now my first and it was handled perfectly. Absolutely great place and super friendly staff. 5/5

We ordered food here. Unfortunately the food and especially the salad was carelessly prepared. The fries were forgotten in my gyro. The gyro was also dry. Too bad about the money.

Unfortunately today the gyrus was once again just greasy and not edible. We paid over 80 euros for our order today and waited over 2 hours. Well, since there was a Borussia game today, you can still understand the longer delivery but the quality of the meat was insufficient. I wanted to order food here and had a question about meat because I rarely buy meat and don't support factory farming. When I asked, they hung up. When I called again because I wasn't sure whether the connection had been lost or whether this was intentional, I was shouted at and insulted on the phone. This is absolutely impossible behavior. It would be very easy to say that you don't know or don't want to deal with it. This has nothing to do with a stupid question. There are people who are interested in this and only want to order their food from where they know where the meat comes from. This is completely legitimate and as a company you should deal with it differently. There's no need to be rude. I therefore cannot recommend this restaurant. We had already ordered here with friends and it was very tasty, so I would have liked to order it again if it had been compatible with my values. However, after dealing with customers like this, I can't recommend anyone to eat or order here. Anyone who treats people like this who only ask one question... I don't want to support that and I want to warn others about it. Here you will immediately be shouted at!

Today we ordered five dishes via the homepage. Delivery time was 90 minutes. Unfortunately only visible after the payment process. Definitely too long. One dish was missing and was delivered after 25 minutes after a phone call. The food from the first delivery arrived just lukewarm. The transport must have been rough because some things had leaked. The food that was delivered was hot, but tasted like it had been warmed up. Overall, the food was not well seasoned, the gyros were crumbly, gristly and fatty, and the meat (cevapcici, souvlaki, steak) was dry. The gyro seemed like it had been lightly fried in the pan and had not been cut down. Nobody ate it. The coleslaw seems to have come from a package :-) The taste was at best ok, unfortunately not what we are used to and can definitely get better elsewhere. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend it, we are really disappointed. We currently didn't know anything about the change in ownership and now suspect that the quality has decreased as a result. It's extremely strange that someone who has supposedly been a regular customer there for 40 years doesn't notice this. Before Metaxa it was Costa (almost 30 years ago). It's never been as bad as it is now!

Delicious food, friendly service Would love to come back

Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Metaxa, I have been a regular customer for years, the food is still delicious, but customer friendliness and service are really subpar. I have placed an order for delivery 3 times now and each time my order arrived incorrectly. I already warned the woman on the phone that she should be correct this time. She says if anything happens, call and you'll get a credit. Nothing of the same, my third order was wrong, I called and then they said I had ordered it that way. I never say no, I always order the same thing and explicitly mention what I want. Then they said I was lying and that the call was on speaker and several witnesses had heard it. It's an absolute shame to treat customers like that and lie so boldly. The Greeks probably don't know the saying, customer is king. I'll never order here again.

We ordered food over the phone. The person on the phone seems very helpless. The food was delivered just a few minutes over the stated time, so everything was still within limits. But the food was not recommended. The fries were cold, soggy and very floury, of course they were delivered, but other shops can do it too. The gyro was mediocre, sometimes tough and with lumps of fat. The remaining meat also tasted like the day before, just warmed up beforehand. Result, I won't order there again, maybe I'll risk it again when I get there. It's a shame, it had received many good reviews and recommendations

We used to be guests at the Greek chip shop opposite, but we had to switch to Metaxa once... Meeggga is surprisingly very tasty, the appetizer platter is always a must, the ouzo platter is also TOP! You have nothing to complain about! Keep it up, please don't let up like the opposite! Stay the same!!!

Today I got more gyros with fries and I wanted mayonnaise but of course again no mayonnaise on the fries. You can almost look for the gyros meat in the bowl. You are all getting greedier and didn't want to give anything for it

Vor weg, bestellt über Lieferando, essen kam 45 Minuten früher wie angegeben was uns aber gefreut hat .Lieferservice war auch nett und das Essen war sehr lecker wie immer aber: ich hatte den Grillteller und da hat ein Cevapcici und das Steak gefehlt,ich war zwar auch so satt aber wenn nicht das ankommt was bestellt wurde was man bezahlt hat kommt sich schon bissl verarscht vor.

Restaurant between Greek and Turkish. In my opinion, the food was overcooked, although the salmon was very good, but the calamari was too fried. The salads are very filling but they are not drained well and they have a lot of water. I will come back and try again.

Was a customer for a very long time. Food used to be delicious but not anymore. Then you are threatened by the supplier. When I ordered, I wrote that the bell should only be rung briefly because the children are sleeping and it was more like a SEK ring. I then asked nicely whether the gentleman could read and was then threatened, which was scary in the evenings and as a woman alone at home Called the store, described everything, the gentleman was so nice and said he would clarify it. But for me, clarifying it doesn't mean that I was blocked from the store at Lieferando. Very bold. The lock doesn't bother me at all. I didn't want to order anything anymore anyway, so I can throw my money down the toilet Such behavior is just sad NEVER AGAIN Even one star is too many

Can I give a minus star? Subjective, but that's it for me. I was annoyed by the new owner's policies. Two pasta dishes to take away only, cold, for the fridge at home to warm up the next day. He charges the same price that he would charge in the restaurant with warming, serving, salad and 19% VAT, i.e. with service and salad. Eating out is taxed at 7%. I pointed it out in astonishment, and he became unfriendly, saying that it cost the same, and the food was even more expensive elsewhere. Over thirty euros for a taken away moussaka and pastizio. I can't get over the idea that only someone who doesn't care about taxes anyway can argue like that. The dishes themselves were good, not exceptional. However, the price is excessive in my opinion.

We've been there a few times and were very satisfied, only today we were very disappointed, the salad was great, only the main course that followed had a lot of roasted aromas (burnt) and was dry. You can also work on the presentation of the dishes; the food was simply slapped onto the plate. It's a shame we won't be coming back anytime soon.

The nice thing about Metaxa is that you can sit inside or outside. All dishes are very good, tasty and above all plentiful. The staff is very nice and friendly and if someone isn't satisfied with the portions.....! I can only recommend it!

Ordered from Metaxa for the first time and unfortunately was disappointed. The portions are very meager and not presented attractively. The salad with chicken costs over €12, which is very steep for so little salad. There was nothing special in terms of taste either. Delivery time was acceptable and the delivery person was friendly. We won't order again.
