One star is too much. I ordered via Lieferando and after 2.5 hours received cold food, soggy fries, and dry souvlaki. I called twice to inquire about the food; the employee remained friendly but kept putting me off, saying they were too busy. It was 3:50 PM, not exactly evening. I won't be ordering from them again.

Ordered, delivery took 2 hours and everything was ice cold. Last time it was already borderline, but that can happen, but this time it was a complete disaster. Never again.

Nice place, the food was good. Only negative point is that only cash is accepted.

The gyros were very tasty and lean. The service was quite friendly. The atmosphere was okay.

We ordered food twice. Both times, the person on the phone barely spoke German. After telling us our street address three times and even spelling it out, the driver still called back to tell us which street we live on. Both times, the food was wrong; once with the wrong side dishes and toppings, and just this time, there was even a missing piece. The dishes weren't worth the price. The schnitzel, in particular, was relatively small, and the onions on top were partially burnt. I wouldn't recommend it.

The food is super delicious, especially the gyro, which I think is the best in Dortmund. We like to order takeout. Eating in would also be possible, but it doesn't seem very cozy to me. There's plenty of parking.

We love the food at El Greco! The gyros are still unbeatable. Even after moving to Bochum, we still stop by occasionally to eat there. So far, no other restaurant has managed to serve such delicious food. The space is absolutely perfect. The staff, and especially the manager, have always been super friendly and accommodating. We'll keep coming back!

The food is of inferior quality. What a Jägerschnitzel is supposed to be is anything but that. It's like a weird red, sour sauce with onions, everything a Jägersauce shouldn't be. On top of that, the fries are also the cheapest and served half-raw. The salad looks no different and tastes like it's been sitting out for days. Never again!!! The worst food in a long time.

I've loved this shop for years! When you don't have time to cook and want something delicious to eat, I think it's great, and everything I've tried so far has always tasted great! The Greek "grandma" is amazing :)

This restaurant is highly recommended! First, you can choose whether you want to sit outside or inside. Both are very inviting. We opted for the air-conditioned interior due to the weather. Everyone was very friendly. Our orders were taken and served quickly, even though it was very busy. The food was incredibly good. I chose the "Greek plate." The fries were excellent, crispy and well-salted, but not overly salted. The meat was very tender, with no tendons or unnecessary fat. My personal highlight, however, was the tzatziki (I hope that spelling is correct); it was super tasty, with a great consistency and the perfect amount of garlic. You can tell they still value quality here. I'd be happy to go back.

I ordered food via Lieferando. 1 souvlaki with fries + 1 gyro pita. Ridiculous, honestly. For €17 + €3 delivery fee... I can get equivalent food at the local organic waste bin. The pita bread was a small, semi-damp, and very sad rag buried under a mountain of gyros, onions, and something that might have been meant to be coleslaw. The souvlaki wasn't any better. A tiny amount of meat, flat as a shoe sole, so that the amount was never enough for two skewers, as it should normally be, and of course, cheap frozen fries. For the money? No way.

We've been there a few times now and will keep coming back. The food is delicious and fresh, and the prices are reasonable. The entire staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Children are also warmly welcomed, which we're very happy about. My mother and I went there with my 2-year-old son, and he was treated very kindly—which I thought was really nice!

Rustic Greek grill snack with really good gyros and delicious coleslaw. I'm always critical, especially when it comes to gyros (often fatty, half raw, fibrous), but at "El Greco" it tastes really good, even though it was busy. So you take enough time to cook/roast the gyros correctly. The dishes are fairly priced and the portions are good. The staff is friendly.

We really like eating there because the gyros are really unbeatable. We like to eat freshly roasted bread with it. Simple but very tasty appetizer. The service and all the staff are very nice and accommodating. The only drawback is the cleanliness, the ambience and the overall impression. Clean tables should be an absolute priority. But we're talking about a classic chip shop here and not a restaurant, so I can ignore that because of the good gyro.

Dear Sir or Madam, I'm really not one to write reviews on the internet. After a little longer we ordered from El Greco. Firstly, instead of the 1 hour waiting time as discussed on the phone, the food arrived after 1.45 hours. Secondly, I looked out the window and the driver drove away again. After a call with the driver who was totally rude, the food arrived and I asked the driver if the food was still warm. His answer was that I picked it up 5 minutes ago. Let's unpack the food, it was cold, not even lukewarm. It's a shame I always praised the snack bar and always enjoyed sitting there.

The El Greco Grill was already part of my childhood, remains at a top level and has been an institution in Aplerbeck for over 35 years. I don't know how many times I've eaten the “Schnitzel Spezial” with my friends. The gyro is also top notch. Both the delivery service and the on-site table service are excellent. A great family business that I can recommend without reservation. Today I treated myself to a gyro with fries, tzatziki and three small bifteki. As always, it tasted great.

I've already been in the restaurant or sat outside in late summer. Due to the nearby street, it is often noisy, which limits the comfort factor somewhat. However, on site you will be taken seriously as a guest and served as such. I've really been impressed with the quality of the food so far, and was happy to pay a euro or two more for it. However, this evening I ordered and had it delivered to my home. At first I was very impressed. The food arrived after just 25 minutes. The delivery lady was also more than friendly, so much so that I wondered in her presence whether my tip was appropriate. To my satisfaction, I noticed when I unpacked that my request had been taken into account in the note to pack the mayo and tzatziki separately. However, I was a little more than disappointed with the food. The baked sheep's cheese was barely warm, so the breading tasted very greasy. A plus point here is the addition of two free pepperoni and olives. Apparently the fries weren't in the deep fryer long enough and were therefore soggy. The gyro was anything but crispy. I also had a lot of pieces with really wobbly fat edges. All dishes were less than lukewarm. My conclusion: I will not have my food delivered home from there again. The disappointment was too great for that. Except for the really lovely delivery lady. Next summer I will give El Greco in Aplerbeck another chance. Because I've only had good experiences with the food there.

Unfortunately I have to take back a few stars 🌟!!! It was now the second time that I ordered an asparagus schnitzel but the asparagus was never there. The taxi plate was swimming in curry sauce and the gyros don't taste that great. It's actually a shame we always enjoyed ordering or eating here. I hope things get better 🍀!!!

Well, unfortunately more than disappointed!!! My husband and I wanted to order something delicious to eat today (Saturday evening). Food came quicker than Lieferando stated, the only plus point. When we unpacked the food, we immediately noticed that various things we had ordered were not there, and we also noticed that the fries and meat were almost cold (we live about 5 minutes away by car) When I called the restaurant to complain about it, I was told the delivery would be made with the next supplier. After a few minutes I was called back and asked if there wasn't a bag, the driver said she had left the bag with us, I checked again in the hallway but there wasn't one. After another 35 minutes our bell rang and the driver in question brought me a bag and said with a grin, sorry, I must have given it to another customer. So we got another cold meal (salad, mayo and tzatziki) with our cold meal 👍 Thanks for nothing, and for over €50

I just ordered from El Greco again after a long time. Actually, most recently I always ordered from the neighboring Greek restaurant El Greco. The gyros there recently really disappointed me. That's why I wanted to give El Greco another chance today and we will order there again in the future. The food came super quickly (ordered early in the evening), was hot, super tasty and the delivery person was also super friendly and helpful. So absolutely recommended! Star rating for the restaurant is not given due to delivery, therefore 0 out of 5 stars. Could not be rated.

Ordered platter for 10 people for a birthday. The food was fresh, well prepared and plentiful, highly recommended.

We ordered by phone for three people in the evening. After asking about delivery time, we were told it would be an hour. However, food was already there after 25 minutes. One person's order was missing from the delivery. What was delivered was already cold. The fries looked like they had been thrown into the deep fryer a second time. Pork fillet was divided into several pieces. Everything was very careless, just slapped on. Called there immediately and complained. However, this was very professional and customer-oriented. Food was picked up and we got the money back.

We were there a total of 3 times over the course of 9 months. Each time in the evening (arrival at 8.30 p.m.), as we are self-employed. Out of 3 orders it was not possible to get gyros in two. Be that as it may, you just order something else. On 2 of these 3 visits we were indirectly asked to leave. Today I wanted to order another beer 🍺, 9:40 p.m. I was told it was already closed and the tables still needed to be cleared away. There were people sitting at the next table having a drink. My colleague still had a full glass and I had an empty one. So my employee drank and we paid around 9:45 p.m. Just doesn't make a good impression. Well given 3x a chance and 3x..... Good luck scaring away guests in the evenings.

I ordered a Gyros Pita to pick up. For 8€ you don't get much of it these days. If you say something, it will be followed up but you have to pay. I'm not going there anymore. It's a shame, the place has really gone downhill...

We haven't been there for a while. But everything is as we remembered it. The food is simply terrific. The meat is tender, the tzatziki is simply fabulous and the fries are on point. My father and I wanted to order BOTH gyros with fries AND rice today. The waitress said only rice OR fries was possible. Otherwise she would have to charge DOUBLE for the rice. However, we wanted to order the same thing twice!!! So I could have had half a portion of rice and half a portion of fries. And my father too. So without charging DOUBLE. But the waitress only wanted to do this on ONE shared plate! What nonsense! Service: 0 stars! We then left and were served friendly and nice at PLATIA in Aplerbeck instead! There it was no problem to get half fries and half rice. Free of charge!

We ordered a 10 kg gyros skewer from you for a party with 24 people. You left us hanging!!!! WITHOUT cancellations!!!!! What's that supposed to mean? No matter what caused you to not deliver. A phone call would have been the least. There were 24 hungry mouths sitting here who will definitely never order from you! That was the very last!!!

I just want to say that the store has become so expensive now. We have been ordering there for over 25 years, but yesterday was the last time. A taxi plate with tzatziki and onions (10.10) and a small gyro with tzatziki and onions (6.90). Now I thought that would cost extra but a Zwanni would easily be enough, with a tip too. He says €22. So tzatziki and onions 1.50 extra per portion and 2€ delivery costs. That's on top of the already expensive dishes. But it is delicious.

It used to be very good. Unfortunately, the portions are continually becoming smaller and now also more expensive. Often something is missing from an order or you get something different. Unfortunately, you can't see it very clearly with the change. That was it for us.

Are you guys still okay? The gas prices are back to normal and you keep increasing the prices. Almost €40 for two dishes from the snack bar is no longer possible. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years. Now unfortunately I have to say goodbye. A pity!

Good value for money, sufficient portions.

I have a gluten intolerance and, because otherwise (components/quantity) that's what I want to eat, I always order an open pita and then put the bread away. So that it doesn't have to be thrown away, I ordered just the contents without bread, but only then received a bill for over 10 euros (Pita costs 6.50). I find it outrageous to charge me just the contents (which is actually worth less than 6.50 without bread) for over 10 euros.

What used to be the top address in Aplerbeck is now absolutely no longer recommended. Food only arrives lukewarm. We haven't had anything hot for a long time. Maybe you have to eat there to get hot food and always check the bill, especially when delivering. I have the feeling that people would like to add two euros to it. It's actually a shame that the store has a lot of potential

We ordered three taxi plates and the meat on each of them was completely burnt. The fries were undercooked and had very little salt.

I have known El Greco since 1988. At that time I was doing my apprenticeship at Ford Eberhardt around the corner. Some of my teaching money went to El Greco. Then as now, it was incredibly delicious. The only downer is that there is no shish kebab anymore, as it was extremely good and popular back then. But everything I've tried there so far is very tasty. Whether filled bifteki or gyros or schnitzel. A must is always the tzatziki because it is bomb.
