There were 7 people in the restaurant and we tried different dishes. Unfortunately, not all of the dishes were convincing. There are a lot of fish dishes on offer that should be prepared better. The fish paella we ordered looked good when served, but it was too dry for me.

Original southern Spanish tapas, simply very, very good.

Unfortunately it only opens at 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good, I ordered a steak with fries (medium) steak was English, and didn't get any fries and that's just annoying for the price. Nowadays, every normal home cook can get a steak medium on the grill......

What's particularly worth noting is that the staff makes great food and drink recommendations, so you're always making a good choice. The service was friendly, attentive and always available without being intrusive - another big plus that made the evening so pleasant. We recommend making a reservation in advance as the restaurant is busy. Overall, a real culinary highlight that we would be happy to visit again. For anyone who loves Spanish cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute recommendation!

Tourist-oriented Spaniards. Very good food. Since it's usually quite busy, the service isn't very good, but still good.

Unfortunately I cannot understand the very good reviews. We had tapas. With the aioli the mood sank, the consistency was like Nivea Creme and the taste wasn't good either. Afterwards various tapas, some good, some bad. All in all rather mediocre, we don't have to eat here again. Conclusion: if you fancy tapas for a small dollar, you are welcome to try it out. For everyone else, nothing.

Sehr leckeres Essen tapas etc und gute Stimmung. Laden ist stets sehr voll. Die netten wenigen Bedienungen schaffen all das locker. Wirklich ein Tipp ! Einziger Nachteil: die Luft ist nicht besonders gut - zum schneiden.

Culinary highlight I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation. Although I have been on holiday in Spain 20 times, I am currently very unsure whether I have even experienced Spain - from a culinary perspective. The food and the ambience at Meson El Cordobes were so good that I felt like I had really arrived in Spain for the first time. For me personally, a very clear recommendation. The tapas and homemade sangria are a 10/10.

It was great. The staff is on point, super friendly and attentive. The food was really tasty. The aioli was addictive to the high 10 and the fish platter was on point. The food was plentiful, so there was no room for dessert, unfortunately. Next time I'll start with dessert because it looked delicious. The prices are moderate and absolutely not exorbitant. We would love to come back.

The food was good, but there were almost only fish dishes on the menu, which is pretty stupid for someone who doesn't like that and can then eat tapas. The service was strenuous, our glasses were empty for a really long time and we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our bill even though the waiters didn't really have anything to do at that moment and were chatting among themselves. After asking again, we received our bill and were able to leave.

We have eaten very well here several times and enjoyed the great service. The tapas are phenomenal and the dishes are TOP👍

Cheap tapas and great ambience with outside and large indoor area

Since I'll be too drunk afterwards, I'll write the review now. Today at 6 p.m. sharp I'm going to El Cordobes again with three of my oldest friends and I already know that we'll have a delicious and brilliant evening there. For DIE JUNGS there is no better Spaniard than El Cordobes. My favorite tapas is the 615.

They have a really good tapas with plenty of dishes to choose from.

A Spaniard who definitely knows his craft! We had the goat cheese and croquettes as a starter followed by grilled salmon and the rump steak in pepper sauce. Both main courses and the tapas tasted excellent. The only negative point is the high prices compared to the portion size. Although you have to say that other Spaniards charge similar prices. My final rating: Definitely worth a visit! And you can also save a lot with the schlemmer coupons ;)

We spontaneously went there for dinner at 10.30pm this evening. Open until 00:00 according to opening times. Immediately after being seated we were asked every 2 minutes whether we had already voted because the kitchen would now be closing. At the beginning we said straight away that we wanted to eat. Unfortunately, the tapas served were not of good quality and the price/performance ratio was inadequate. Squid rings (not fresh) - 3 pieces for 5€... When the plates were cleared, the half-full water bottle was simply cleared away with them. Brazen at a price of €6.90. Unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied overall and cannot understand the good reviews.

Tapas were delicious as always, only the service could be improved a little, e.g. ask if you would like to order more drinks or tapas when you clear away the empty items and not just run past the table without looking. As a guest, it's pretty stupid if you always have to call after the waitress.

A nice and cozy shop. The interior decoration varies but the overall picture fits and creates a pleasant ambience. A friendly staff who are friendly all the time and always have a smile on their faces. You will be served quickly. The food is varied. We chose tapas and a mix of salads, side dishes, fish, meat and dessert. There was also wine and of course the Aperol Spritz, something that is not missing in summer. Everything was very tasty and served appropriately. If the weather is nice, you also have the option of sitting outside.

You can eat delicious Spanish tapas. There were so many different types, and every single one was delicious. In particular, the garlic sauce that comes with the baguette at the beginning is truly heavenly. In the case of Iberico Jamon, the quality is not high, but considering the price, it is acceptable. Tapas usually cost between 3.0 and 5.0 euros, which is not expensive compared to other Spanish restaurants in Cologne. All the staff are friendly too. Recommended if you want to eat Spanish food in Cologne.

I just don't understand where all these good reviews come from. Let's start with the positive, the shop is cozy and has a certain Spanish retro charm. Unfortunately, this stops with the ancient toilets. Nothing here is even remotely ambitious. The only beer on tap is Kölsch, Spanish beer only in bottles. The tapas: Everyone who has been to Spain knows what great products there are, but unfortunately you can't find them here. The squid tubes are tiny, the sardines are okay, the salads are littered with raw onions and poor quality artichokes. Generally the portions are large, but please shop better and perhaps make the portions a little smaller. Overall, the tapas were still edible, the paella was so mercilessly overcooked, the shrimp no longer had any texture and were just fibrous, the other shellfish could hardly be removed from the shell. The paella with meat was tasteless and the meat was completely overcooked. The other person at the table summed it up as “mush or mud.” How anyone can be in business for so long and release something like that remains a mystery to me. Finished with two completely differently browned Crema Catalana, just from that you can tell how the chef doesn't care what and how he puts it out, the apparently ignorant guests will eat it. Very very disappointing.

The three of us ate there for the first time. The food was very tasty. The staff was also very friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food and drinks. The second time we ordered drinks, they didn't come at all, unfortunately. We then wanted to pay and even then we had to wait longer until we were told that we should go to the front to pay. I then took the opportunity and told the employee that unfortunately we had to wait too long for the food and didn't get our second drinks at all and that the neighbors who came later got the food and drinks first. He then explained to us in a very friendly manner that unfortunately they had a staff shortage and one employee didn't come to the shift at all. He also apologized for it. Ok, it's stupid, but it can happen. That's why there are 4 lovingly meant stars for the service. Maybe next time it will be better. A reservation is recommended

Delicious tapas, fast and super friendly staff, good value for money It would be smart to write down the respective numbers of the dishes, as it usually takes a while since all the dishes are freshly prepared. Some contemporaries then forgot what they had ordered within 10 minutes. You pay by the table, if you want it separately, you should know at the checkout what you ordered...

The Spanish restaurant recommended by a friend. In fact, there are some other Spanish restaurants nearby, but when I went there, there were no people in other restaurants, and this restaurant was almost full. I ordered 5 side dishes, all of them were very appetizing and the price was very reasonable. The main dish was of course Spanish paella. It was the first time I had paella that was not too salty. It was really touching. 5 stars.

Proven and popular for decades, always “full”. One should go only for the food, which is truly authentic and cooked to perfection. The prices are still reasonable. Delicious small portions of tapas are served at lunchtime and are also offered in the evening, very fair and often appropriate. Unfortunately, the table covering is greasy plastic and the interior decoration still looks like it's from the '80s. You'll be called mercilessly, but if you object, you'll be called a "Düsseldorfer", a rather strange thing, but that's the style of the lively restaurant. What was disappointing was that the only white Rioja on offer was "El Coto", a supermarket wine at over three times the supermarket price.
