El Cielo Tapas in Köln

Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Not loud at all, the service staff was always polite, nice and respectful. We tried everything and it was really tasty! The Pulpo is highly recommended. Will definitely come back to try the desserts. There was no room left in my stomach for that today.

We were here with a large group including children. The premises are OK. Maybe a little tight. The food is quite simple. Some portions are quite small. The bread portions are also puny, which increases sales. The taste is ok. The drinks are only available in small glasses, which increases sales when there is plenty of garlic because there are no large glasses. The surprise came with the billing. They billed for various portions of bread and at least 5 more portions of tappas. Nobody ordered or ate them. They weren't on any notice either. The waitress brought a small bottle of water which no one had ordered. The bottle was then simply left with the children. Even the children told her that they didn't order the bottle. The bottle was also on the bill, but as a large bottle. In summary: too expensive, medium quality, bad service and wrong invoice. Despite the group size of 20, we were asked to pay before the end of opening hours so that they could finally arrive on time. That doesn't speak for service and customer loyalty either. This one experience was enough for everyone.

The food was very good. Appetizingly prepared, very good selection. The only drawback for me was that there weren't enough questions about drinks. Otherwise, nice staff, everything was clean and very good food. I will definitely go there again 👍

Der Empfang war freundlich und uns wurde nach ein paar Minuten Wartezeit ein Tisch zugewiesen. Dazu gab es dann gleich ein paar Bleistifte sowie einen Bestellzettel. Hierauf sind die einzelnen Bestellnummern der Speisekarte aufgeführt. Man muss nur noch die Anzahl der gewünschten Portionen eintragen. Die Getränke wurden schnell gebracht. Ich hätte den Wein gerne vorher getestet, doch da hatte die Bedienung bereits die Gläser aus der Flasche gefüllt. Die Speisen kamen nach einer angemessenen Wartezeit. Sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich konnten alle Gerichte überzeugen. Auch die Menge der einzelnen Portionen war ausreichend. Den Preis für die einzelnen Portionen habe ich als angemessen empfunden. Leider ist es in diesem Restaurant extrem laut. Dieses liegt zum einen an der Unterhaltung der Gäste, aber unter anderem auch an der Bedienung, welche ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste mit dem Geschirr und Besteck klappert. Man kann Geschirr auch leise zusammenstellen und Besteck leise in ein Fach legen. Das muss man nicht werfen.

Very good food not too expensive

Poor service. The waitress dropped the meat and served us the meat again after a few seconds, the same piece that fell down with all the sauce. Really disgusting. We asked them to bring new meat, which strangely enough took longer than 20 minutes because new meat was finally prepared after discussion with the guest. In addition, the full water bottle was simply removed from the table. It's a real shame that you're treated like that as a guest.

We celebrated my friend's birthday, it was a wonderful evening. Both the food and the staff are a 10/10. It was sooo great and delicious. Thanks to our waitress, unfortunately we forgot her name :(

Hello "Cielo Tapas" We really enjoyed our visit and may come back more often. Your staff is very nice and accommodating and we really enjoyed your warm atmosphere. We ate our way through almost everything on offer and we liked the meatballs in tomato sauce best, although we're usually not a fan of this dish. The slight hint of cinnamon in the meat went wonderfully with the spicy-sour sauce. Unfortunately, we couldn't find such a flavor explosion everywhere; some dishes were underseasoned. We hope we can try more recipes and new dishes with these intense flavors next time. So there is still some room for improvement up to 5 stars. Best regards and see you next time

We were there last night in a larger group and for me it was the first visit to El Cielo but definitely not the last! I haven't eaten tapas this well in Cologne for a long time! Everything I tried from the many dishes was extremely tasty and the service was friendly and very competent. All in all it was a great evening in a cozy atmosphere - thank you very much for that!

Last night we fell in love with El Cielo Tapas. 🥰 The cozy atmosphere, combined with the excellent food 👌 and the friendly staff, made the evening an unforgettable experience. 👍 An insider tip for everyone who values ​​a special atmosphere and good food.

The food was okay. The orders were shouted across the hall. Hectic running back and forth by the service staff. The boss is snapping. A quiet dinner is out of the question. When we told the boss this, we got a snippy response.

We spent our wedding anniversary there and it was a wonderful evening in a dignified setting. Mega nice and courteous staff. The menu is varied and, as we are used to in Spain, ordering the tapas is done via a list where you tick which tapas you want. The journey out of the Eifel was more than worth it! Anyone looking for good tapas will definitely go home satisfied and full. We are thrilled with the quality and selection. We will definitely come back and then with the whole family

Very attractive restaurant with attentive service staff. Unfortunately, the service staff missed one or two repeat orders. And that even though only the terrace was a little busy. The dishes all looked appetizing. What was a bit of a shame was that none of the numerous dishes particularly stood out. We all missed that special whistle. Chicken nice and juicy but very bland. Mushrooms also unspectacular. Unfortunately this continues. Unfortunately for us there is no reason to visit the not cheap restaurant again because of the food. As written, great restaurant but perhaps we are also spoiled by the tapas from other restaurants.

The aioli was super delicious. But the tapas were also very tasty. You sit very comfortably in a great atmosphere. All in all a successful evening! We'd love to come back if we're nearby. The best thing was the ambience, very disappointed with the service and also the food. Two errors in the implementation of the order (no starters, chicken instead of chorizo, when we were told the chicken was then cleared away again: what else did you want with that???), all of this hardly worth an apology, chorizo ​​was also charged for, even though it wasn't eaten, perceived as lukewarm and not yet cooked through. Aioli was only brought after two requests: unfortunately a mini portion, it didn't taste homemade, at least not fresh. Prices high, quality poor. I'm a regular at the Spaniard's, but this is definitely the first and last visit.

Four of us went for dinner as a birthday present for my boyfriend, it was the first time I had eaten tapas and I have to say that my expectations were exceeded. Great service who brought the food with a smile. The freshness and quality of the food was unmistakable and worth a visit again at any time.

My partner and I wanted to try the store because we really liked it. Open from 5 p.m., no problem, wonderful! We've been standing in front of the locked door for 15 minutes now. The lights were on, the door from the shop to the winter garden was open (so the shop can't be closed). No employee to be seen to draw attention to themselves. Very disappointing. No signs pointing us to another entrance or that it is closed because of something else. We made the journey in vain and now we have to go to another restaurant.

All in all it was a nice shop. Nowadays everyone just shouts and the waitresses can't even hear you when you want something more to drink. There is no bread, some of the food really doesn't taste fresh and calamari, for example, is better at the snack bar around the corner. The worst: There were pieces of packaging in the food (spinach with cheese)! If you ask the waitress about it, all she says is that you are not allowed to give anything away and that even this dish will be charged in full. The aioli sits in a huge bucket, unrefrigerated, in a walkway all day and is packed away again in the evening for the next day. Have fun with the salmonella. This was my last visit and I am very disappointed with this store.

We used to love being here. After our visit last night we have to strongly advise against a visit. In terms of taste, the tapas were a 3 out of 10 at best, and to make matters worse, there was a piece of packaging in one dish. Not a word of apology from the staff and no other kind of accommodation. Apparently this is now normal at El Cielo. Appropriately, the bucket of aioli was left unlocked in the warm counter area for hours. A case for the health department?

Personally, I don't like the (colored) modern tableware, but the serving bowls are nice and authentic. Prices: not cheap, but reasonable considering how much dishwashing you leave behind...

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the "El Cielo" tapas restaurant in Rath-Heumar, Cologne, on Rösrather Straße and were absolutely thrilled! The telephone reservation went smoothly and we were even able to reschedule the appointment again. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Muhyettin, the manager. He personally came up to greet us and was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He asked several times whether everything was OK. The waitress was just as lovely and gave us helpful recommendations while eating. The food was served super quickly, and the menu offered a variety of exceptional dishes that were easy to read. The toilets were clean and the whole store exuded cleanliness and a nice ambience, with great decoration that made us feel a little like we were in Spain. The homemade lemonade is highly recommended, and the little calamari were delicious. It was a wonderful evening in a romantic atmosphere. My husband and I felt very comfortable and left the restaurant full and satisfied. Special praise goes to Muhyettin, the managing director, who impressed with his warm and friendly manner and his passion for the restaurant. You can taste the attention to detail not only in the food but also in the way it was served. We would also like to mention that the manager gave us two sparkling wines as a welcome gift as a thank you for celebrating our wedding anniversary there. We found this to be extremely courteous and warm. As a photographer, I can highly recommend this place, especially for celebrations such as weddings and birthday parties.
