Mera Tapas in Würzburg

I've been here several times. My wife likes the Sangria. The food tastes really good! This time we sat at the small table by the door, and there's a lot of traffic there. Busy as always. The chocolate cake was delicious. Can only recommend this place.

As a big lover of Spain, I was very excited about the popular tapas restaurant. Unfortunately, the feeling in the restaurant could only be felt in the form of the music. We sat at a table that could use some Spanish accessories. It was all quite minimalistic. That was my feeling. The bread with allioli came before the drinks were there. The prawns in oil were very tasty. The meal with patatas and pimientos and 2 slices of meat was ok. The meat was very tender and well seasoned. Unfortunately the patatas had almost no salt. The goat cheese on vegetables was so-so. The vegetable patch below was little, almost cold. I know the Albondigas are very tasty in a tomato sauce. I often ate and cooked myself in Spain. What was brought to the table was a joke. 4 small mini balls, unseasoned on a dollop of tomato sauce. I complained nicely about this. Unfortunately, I had the feeling that I wasn't being taken seriously. No apology and it was charged in full. €7.90. The front half of the menu consisted of drinks, then came the food. The note on the first page that the dishes are brought one after the other should definitely have been included with the dishes. However, this is just a suggestion. A very nice waiter served us. I paid 83 euros for 2 people. I'll leave it like that.

The food is great! We love to order tapas several times for everyone so that everyone can snack on something.

The food was good, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right. Sure, tapas are a bit more expensive, but €5 for 3 slices of garlic baguette seems a bit too much to me.

The best tapas shop in Würzburg! We were there yesterday and had a great meal again! Everything was super delicious! The conditions are just great too! And then there's the wine :) Even if the food is more expensive, it's definitely worth eating there!

The location is really cool. The service staff were also very nice. The paella was very, very tasty. Unfortunately, the tapas were all very salty in taste. It was also a shame that they all came with a very large time lag. The cocktails were a disaster. Even though we returned them and asked for improvement, they didn't taste much better. The prices are definitely too expensive, especially the starter plate! Overall, the paella and the nice service staff made up for it.

All in all a great evening, with fresh, delicious food, great selection, diverse. Gladly again…

I found it particularly great that the tapas didn't come all at once, but in small, regular intervals. This meant we could chat in peace and really take our time with each dish. My absolute favorite? The meatballs in tomato sauce – they were simply amazing! 😍 The ambience was also great. It was warm, inviting and reminded us all of the social evenings in Spain. The service? Great! Super friendly and attentive, but never intrusive. This just makes you feel good. Unfortunately a disaster. Unfortunately the order was forgotten and then only part of it was served. What came was mostly tasty, but was served one at a time, so eating together was not possible. Unfortunately the tortilla was still raw and cold in the middle. When we asked the waitress about it, we were told that it was the northern Spanish version and that's how it should be. Unfortunately there was no apology, the plates were cleared even though some were not yet ready and the table was then ignored. No asking if anyone wanted dessert, a coffee or something else to drink.

Unscheinbar von außen - wundervoll sobald man drinnen ist: Essen ist super, Karte toll Portionen genau richtig. Das Schönste aber ist die zugewandte Atmosphäre. Die Gast-Freundlichkeit. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend bei euch. Danke. Reservieren vorab lohnt, denn dann gibt's die guten Plätze im Inneren.

Excellent Spanish food!! Small portions, expensive!! But it's worth it

Very nice tapas menu with true Spanish flavor. I am a croquetas nerd and found the croquetas here surprisingly good. The salsa alioli and huevos rotos were also very good. The staff was helpful and make an effort that we appreciated speaking in Spanish with us

We were blinded by all the positive reviews...it was by far the worst restaurant we have visited in recent years. You sit surrounded by high-rise buildings next to an underground car park entrance, beautifully authentic, as you would imagine for Spain, in the party tent at the plastic table on a plastic chair #Ironieoff. Mini portions at exorbitant prices. The best example is the giant bacon-wrapped date for just €3. If it were at least remotely huge, the price could perhaps have been explained. In terms of taste, it was a complete disaster. Service was okay, but it's just inappropriate when the dishes come one after the other and you keep sitting at the empty table until the next tapas bowl comes. It's really a shame that you can't give 0 stars. I can only advise everyone not to visit.

I really can't understand the positive reviews. This is usury. I still can't believe that I had to pay so much for so little while sitting on the Juliuspromenade in Würzburg with a view of house walls and next to an underground car park. The portions and quality of the tapas are a disgrace. Six frozen shrimp tails with a little oil, two small dumplings (approx. 4 cm) with tasteless filling from the deep fryer, four croquettes (approx. 3 cm) with tasteless filling from the deep fryer, a bit of "vegetables" gratinated with a bit of goat cheese ( I estimate half a tomato and 2 grams of goat cheese), an iced tea, a water and 2 aperitifs for a whopping 56 euros. What's that supposed to mean?

We were there again yesterday. The food is very tasty. We had the tabla variada with Manchego, serrano and olives, gambas, pimientos, croquetas, pisto and pulpo. All highly recommended. I also like the albondigas. The sangria was also very good 👍

Amazing tapas restaurant! The food and the service was excellent. Every waiter was friendly, came immediately to us to take our orders without any waiting time, checked in on us multiple times,… The food was so delicious, and all in all paid a very fair price ☺️ The only thing - it was very loud inside as it was completely full. But that’s just a little minor aspect 🤏🏼

Top service paired with delicious food!

Everything was relatively disorganized. When we arrived, it only took about 10 minutes for us to get our tickets. We waited 40 minutes for the drinks after ordering and everyone came staggered. It should be said that no complex drinks were ordered, but water or beer. The tapas always came one at a time, every 10-15 minutes. So eat bits and pieces gradually. There is no way to sit together comfortably and share. Two of our group hadn't ordered tapas, they only got their food when the tapas were already finished. Eating together is not possible. The quality of the food was okay, but the service/organization was so bad that it wasn't fun to eat there and that's what it's all about when you go out for tapas in a group.

It's not really a nice place to sit, but the service is friendly and attentive. The price is a bit too expensive, some of the taste is very good (gambas), some of it is ok. (Bacon-wrapped dates) . The portions are quite large for tapas

A nice evening with delicious food

We have decided to take a creative break, we came to Würzburg for a couple of days and decided to eat at Mera Tapas. Say several things: 1. Jacobo's hospitality was impressive! Businesses need that spirit that fills service with meaning, thank you. 2. The execution of the tapas was perfect, highlighting the octopus with shrimp and the perfect frying of the eggs with ham. 3. The wine selection is unbeatable. Thank you for tonight and I hope one day we cook together!

During my short visit to Germany, I didn’t expect to find a place that specializes in Spanish cuisine. When choosing a restaurant, I always aim for a good experience, great taste, and proper nutrition; this place checked all the boxes. I can’t emphasize enough how much I enjoyed it and would definitely come again.

If you wanna eat something good in Würzburg, you go to Mera. Period. Comida gallega real. It doesn’t get better than this.

Hygiene is not very important!! It was nothing special and the leftover fish in the potatoes, the hair on the squid or the glasses that weren't washed properly took away the appetite. The waitress (blonde girl) was very nice and couldn't help it… The portions are large for tapas but small for the price :) Wouldn't recommend it!

Good service and atmosphere, the bad thing is that the food lacked a pinch of salt, a pinch of something to be delicious.

We really didn't think the quality of the tapas was good, except for the anchovies. The prawns in garlic oil in particular were poorly prepared frozen food, the worst I have ever eaten anywhere. I'm sorry to say that. We cannot understand the positive reviews about the food. The ambience in the plastic tent, which serves as an extension to the restaurant, didn't convince us either. The staff is very nice, attentive and friendly.

There is no taste explosion. Tapas is quite okay. The portions are quite small for the price. The time between serving the tapas was too long. It would be nice if everything came at once. We had to wait several minutes with an empty table.

Die große Auswahl an Tapas kalt wie warm und die Qualität/Geschmack haben überzeugt ( und ich habe durch mehrere Madrid- und Barcelona-Aufenthalte den Vergleich mit Tapas im Ursprungsland!). Der Service war - im heutigen Vergleich zu vielen anderen Restaurants - außergewöhnlich freundlich und wir fühlten uns richtig gut umsorgt. Leider ist der "Biergarten" eine schmucklose Terrasse in schmuckloser "Häuserschlucht" mit "freundlichen" jungen und gelegentlich leider hupenden Autoposern in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft. Das war aber auch der einzig negative Eindruck, der an den Plätzen im Lokal selbst sicher bedeutungslos ist. Nächster Besuch bereits in Planung!

The food was good, unfortunately we were more or less thrown out of the restaurant at 10:30 p.m., even though our drinks, which had been brought to us just 15 minutes ago, were not even half empty. When we pointed out to the friendly woman that the restaurant was officially open until 11 and that we would at least want to finish our drinks, she replied: "If there are no more guests there, then it's simply no longer worth it for us." Then it began They loudly slammed the chairs onto the tables around us and the lights were partially turned off. What else can you say about that...? We definitely won't go there anymore.

Small but nice Spanish restaurant where there are the typical small bowls with the prepared food. It's best to reserve in advance if you want to eat the typical Spanish paella. It has to be ordered the day before. We sat in the tent and the ambience wasn't that great for it The food was even better, as was the friendly and very attentive staff. Price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. We would be happy to come back at any time

We probably had a bad day. If we had gotten the food we ordered it would probably have been good - but unfortunately half of it was forgotten and one tapa was still frozen in the middle. So therefore not freshly cooked. One would actually have expected a price reduction.

Super delicious food! The tapas are absolutely authentic. A great selection of food & drinks. The recommendations on the daily menu were also excellent. There was a children's chair and an option for changing diapers could also be created. The service was very friendly & helpful. Thank you for the lovely evening! We'd love to come back.

At the end of the meal I was told that the card wasn't working. So the restaurant already knew. The landlord then said I should just walk a total of 20 minutes to the bank in bad weather. I thought it would just take some time. He then became aggressive and told his colleague that he should call the police. Then I went to a friend nearby and got the money. For the very expensive prices, really bad service including a bad gut feeling.

Booking an appointment online was a bit bumpy at the beginning, but then everything worked out. The atmosphere is nice even if it's a little cramped, the service staff were quick, interested and the food was very good, the tapas as well as the desserts. I'd love to come back.

I actually didn't think it was good and it was overpriced (the prices on the internet are no longer correct!). I had a burger with sweet potato fries. The amount of fries was very manageable and all for 16.90 euros! My shandy was lukewarm and not cold. But the sweet potato fries were cold! It doesn't work at all! I didn't even order tapas because I could already see that you would have to order a few bowls to get anywhere near full. Of course, that's a lot of money. Conclusion: Ambience okay, service with many guests a bit and kitchen completely overwhelmed.

Friendly and normal greetings. Drinks are ordered and served at a normal time. Recording the tapas order was also very neutral, I would like to say something cold. Unfortunately, they were brought to the wrong table and were all staggered. I would have liked some explanation here about some of the tapas, what to expect. But what we still find outrageous is 4 small slices of white bread toasted with a little oil. That's more than, well. Everything is prepared in the classic way you know it. We sat in the party tent and that has nothing to do with a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a restaurant. The taste was still very tasty, but unfortunately it was overpriced. It's a shame, that ruins a lot of friends when they visit a restaurant.

Mera Tapas is a very nice little restaurant with Spanish dishes. We pre-ordered paella for my birthday. A poem! Before that there were a few small appetizers. At Mera Tapas you can also tell from the staff that a lot of passion is invested here. We recommend!

Authentic Spanish cuisine, very tasty and freshly prepared. The waitress enjoys her work and tries very hard. This was our third time in Würzburg and we visited each time. We would love to come back on our next short vacation.

Das „Mera Tapas“ in Würzburg ist ein definitiv zu empfehlendes Restaurant mit einer ausgezeichneten Küche und einem tollen Team, das den Service bestreitet - sympathisch, nett und freundlich. Die Tapas sind ihren Preis auch tatsächlich wert. Ich habe das Lokal schon einige Male besucht und wurde noch nie enttäuscht.

Die Bedienung war sehr höflich. Wir wollten zu viert von jedem etwas haben. Es wurde uns eine große Auswahl zusammengestellt, wobei für jeden etwas dabei war.

Essen ist ok, aber auch nichts außergewöhnliches. Es fehlt etwas die Raffinesse und auch der gewisse Pep beim würzen. Tortilla gut, aber zu lasch gewürzt. Tapas sind insgesamt zu klein. Dafür ist es aber vom Preis her viel zu teuer für das was es ist. Wir hatten fast 60€ pro Person mit je 2 Weinen und richtig satt waren wir nicht. Das Ambiente inkl. des Zeltes ist auch nicht gerade einladend an dieser komischen Ecke Würzburgs

A real hidden gem of a restaurant that brings authentic Spanish Tapas to Wuerzburg. The menu has a wide selection of options and the individual dishes are carefully (and speedily) prepared. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere... Recommended

Leckeres Essen. Ich liebe es wenn der ganze Tisch voller Tapas steht und man kann sich überall durchfuttern. Personal ist sehr nett. Leider war unser Tisch schlecht platziert. Saßen direkt an der Tür des Nebeneingangs. Bei 4 Grad Außentemperatur ist es sehr unangenehm wenn ständig neue Gäste, Raucher und Personal die Tür aufreißen. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr gute und qualitativ hochwertige Tapas. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und wirklich gut. Wir kommen wieder.
