Mekong in Memmingen

An einem sehr heißen Tag das Abendessen direkt an der Memminger Ach genossen. Das Lokal ist klein und fein familiengeführt. Der Chef ist sehr freundlich, direkt und hat sein Herz auf der Zunge. Das Essen war sehr lecker und preislich günstig. Hier gibt es keine großen Extras hinterher, wie Cappuccino oder Espresso. Steht auch klar angeschrieben. Frage mich eh, wer nach einem Besuch in einem asiatischen Restaurant einen Espresso trinkt.

Ich hatte gebratene Nudeln mit Ente zum mitnehmen bestellt. Es wurde zwar schnell vorbereitet, ich wurde nach dem Besteck gefragt, aber später stellte sich das Essen absolut geschmacklos raus, nicht mal genug gesalzen, sehr trocken, ungewürzt, wenig Gemüse. Sossen wurden nicht angeboten. Schmeckt null. Nur zur Sättigung leere Kalorien. Als ob nicht genug wäre, schmeckte ein Stück des Fleisches ausgeprägt verdorben. Habe das Essen entsorgt. Und somit 12 Euro, die das Essen gekostet hat.

Kleines und sehr gutes asiatisches Restaurant, schön am Stadtbach gelegen. Das Essen ist immer sehr lecker und der Service erstklassig. Weiter so.

Schön gelegenes vietnamesisches Restaurant mit gemütlichen Sitzplätzen direkt am Bach – besonders schön ist der Blick auf die Fische, die man während des Essens beobachten kann. Die Portionen waren zudem recht groß. Geschmacklich war das Essen allerdings eher mittelmäßig und für meinen Geschmack sehr lasch gewürzt. Auch die angebotenen Saucen am Tisch konnten daran nicht viel ändern. Vielleicht ist die sehr milde Würzung bewusst an den deutschen Gaumen angepasst, für Fans der asiatischen Küche mit ihren kräftigen Gewürzen war es jedoch eher enttäuschend. Etwas befremdlich fand ich außerdem den deutlich ausgeschriebenen Hinweis, dass Speisen weder geteilt noch getauscht werden dürfen. Selbst in gehobenen Restaurants erlebt man so etwas selten. In einem normalen Restaurant sollte es meiner Meinung nach selbstverständlich sein, Essen innerhalb der eigenen Gruppe frei teilen zu können.

Sehr freundliche und schöne kleine Gaststätte am Wasser! Der Besitzer und seine Töchter sind sehr sympathisch und jederzeit bereit den Fragen und Wünschen eines jeden gerecht zu werden. Da springt man für den Kunden auch gerne Mal zur Wirtschaft nebenan und holt ihm ein frisch gezapftes Bier 😄 Und das wichtigste: Das Essen schmeckt und der Preis stimmt auch! Kunde ist hier nicht König, sondern Freund :)

Kleines Restaurant direkt am Bach mit den üblichen Thai-Gerichten. Das Essen "Ente mit Reis, Currysoße und Gemüse" war geschmacklich insgesamt noch ok, aber zu wenig. Die Ente war sehr klein und das bissl Gemüse war schwimmend in der Currysoße verteilt. Zudem wurde der Teller kalt serviert. Im Restaurant gibt es nicht viele Sitzplätze. Im Sommer kann man noch draußen sitzen direkt am Stadtbach. Störend war an diesem Abend, dass der Chef selbst nicht im Hause war und die beiden Töchter Rap-Musik laufen ließen. Ihre persönliche rappelige Musik will in einem Thai-Restaurant beim Essen wirklich niemand hören, das war völlig daneben! Aber wir waren eh nur kurz zum Essen dort und sind dann auch sofort wieder abgereist. Preislich mit 12 Euro eher günstig, was aber auch an der Portion auf dem kalten Teller sofort ersichtlich wird. Da kann man so einiges besser machen. Wenn man geht und ist nicht satt, dann hat auch das beste Restaurant verloren. Wer übrigens auf das billigste deutsche "Oettinger" Bier steht, der kann das hier trinken und nen Chef in Hausschuhen sehen. Ich brauche das sicher nicht mehr.

Aufgrund meines Geburtstages wurde sogar extra dekoriert mit ganz viel Liebe und aufmerksamen Gesten! Vielen Dank nochmal für den schönen Abend! I was absolutely blown away by my experience at Mekong. This isn't just a meal, it's a culinary journey to Vietnam! The real star was the flavor. The dishes are crafted with incredible freshness and an authenticity that comes through in every bite.

A very good place offering Vietnamese dishes as well as regional specialties. The food was excellent, and the service was great too. The restaurant is located in the city center, right on the small street with the canal.

I ate at this restaurant with my wife – unfortunately! The owner, Lars, was extremely arrogant and disrespectful. When my wife asked for the bill, he actually asked, "Do you even have enough money to pay?" – sheer outrage! It's unbelievable how poorly run this place is. The food was disappointing anyway, but even worse is the complete lack of respect for the guests. If you're considering visiting this restaurant, do yourself and your partner a favor and choose somewhere else.

What can I say, the food was perfect, the chef was brilliant, the atmosphere was great...we're already looking forward to our next meal with you.

We ended up here by chance when it started thundering & raining. Nice gentleman who owned the restaurant, we had currywurst which was delicious!

We ate here today on the sidelines of the "Uffruhr" event and were very satisfied. Some of the dishes were really clever, and you could eat with nice stainless steel chopsticks—that's a good idea.

We had dinner here on Saturday, and it was perfect. The owner was very accommodating, funny, and nice. The food was excellent, and it was lovely sitting outside right by the river. Highly recommended!

Perfect great shop, very friendly

Sitting outside by the stream is a lovely place. The food was quite good; the rice had a good consistency and the flavor was also pleasantly spicy; I was just expecting something more refined. I know Vietnamese cuisine as "light," but this was more like a heavily thickened red curry sauce with some vegetables and a very thickly coated baked chicken.

We ate delicious duck at a sensational price—that's what makes a restaurant enjoyable. Add to that the very friendly hosts and the great atmosphere outside by the stream. Thumbs up! 😉

We went there for the first time today and were very satisfied. The service was good, the food and drinks were delicious, and the value for money was absolutely spot on. With the beautiful weather, we sat outside at a table right by the stream. It's a lovely place. We'll definitely be back!

Restaurant tip: MEKONG am Bach in Memmingen The MEKONG am Bach is idyllically located in the old town of Memmingen directly on the stream and impresses with a charming mix of cozy ambience and Vietnamese flair - both indoors and outdoors. The loving furnishings with artfully painted murals and decorative details from Vietnam immediately create a pleasant atmosphere. The host and cook look after the guests warmly and with real dedication. The menu is extensive and offers a wide selection: from vegetarian dishes to chicken, duck, beef, pork and fish to popular classics such as spring rolls, there is something for every taste. My personal tip: the Tom Kha Gai soup – with either shrimp or chicken. Simply a must! Families with children are also in good hands here - there is a special children's menu with suitable dishes, even spaetzle. Particularly noteworthy is the freshness of the ingredients - the vegetables are crunchy, the mushrooms are fresh - and all at surprisingly affordable prices. Conclusion: A real insider tip in Memmingen! I'd love to come back.

I ordered food to pick up and was there for the first time. Very friendly service with a good atmosphere. The ambience by the stream is very nice and you can sit outside when the weather is good. I ordered vegetarian spring rolls (very crispy despite taking takeaway) and shrimp curry, which had plenty of shrimp. The taste was also great and the levels of spiciness are indicated for the sauces. If the opportunity arises, we would be happy to go there again/pick something up again

Whenever we come to Memmingen from Lindau, we eat here. It's particularly nice to sit outside by the stream. No traffic, wonderfully quiet. Beautiful floral decorations, fresh flowers on the tables. The service is very friendly, the landlord always has time for a little chat. And the food is fresh and tasty, the vegetables are crunchy, so I recommend it all around.

The restaurant is a manageable size and relatively traditionally decorated. The service is very attentive and friendly. The best part, however, is definitely the food. Very tasty, with fresh, crisp ingredients, and very reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I was only here as a tourist; otherwise, I would definitely be a regular.

The restaurant was recommended to us by a waiter from another restaurant and I can only say that it was one of the tastiest meals I have ever had. There were six of us with two dogs without a reservation. Without hesitation, two tables were pushed together for us and the dogs were also given a bowl of water and a few treats. Everything we ordered was really delicious. And even after the official opening time, we weren't "kicked out" but were offered a dessert or a nightcap. The Raustaurant seems very inconspicuous from the outside, but it's definitely worth it!

Small restaurant by the stream in the old town. Cozy and secretly furnished with a very nice innkeeper and host. The menu is clear and includes everything from vegetarian to chicken, duck, beef and pork as well as fish. The food is very tasty and with fresh vegetables, even the mushrooms are fresh! The prices are surprisingly cheap. A clear recommendation and I would be happy to come back.

Simply the best place to eat Asian food in Memmingen. Without any fuss or frills, the food always comes out of the kitchen with very good quality, and the boss cooks with heart and passion. I sat by the stream today, cozy atmosphere. It was very pleasant in this heat. I love the fried noodles, today with shrimp. The last time with crispy duck. Price performance completely ok. Staff super friendly. If you want extras, your wish will be fulfilled. Always my pleasure.

Price/performance ratio is top notch, the service is super nice and the food is absolutely delicious. No matter whether it's pasta with duck or the setting is simply perfect... Solid Vietnamese food, suitable for the German palate, also available authentically cooked. Beautifully located on the Memmingen city stream. Friendly & quick service. However, schnitzel and Kässpatzen on the menu are unnecessary.
