The first shock: the menu. What they handed me was simply disgusting. Several pages covered in old, dried, brownish stains. This wasn't a minor mistake; it was simply revolting. Subjecting guests to something like this is not only unappetizing, but downright disrespectful. If the menus – which everyone has to touch – are so filthy, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. The rest of the place was anything but clean. It seemed sloppy overall, as if hygiene didn't concern anyone here. And the food? Unfortunately, just as disappointing. Especially the sushi, which should have been prepared with care in an à la carte restaurant, was a real disappointment. The rolls were falling apart, squashed together without much care, and looked as if someone had just rolled them for the first time – unprofessional and visually unappealing. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that specializes in sushi.

The shop looks very dirty and unkempt. The dishes, cutlery, and furnishings are dated. The food is not lovingly prepared and tastes mediocre. The prices are too high for the quality of the food.

It was our first time eating at MeiWei and we were absolutely thrilled. We'll definitely be eating there again.

Our experience: We regularly ordered food for pickup from the store. We left a positive review on another account. My review today relates to the service and the handling of errors. Two of our two orders were delivered incorrectly. When we got home, we noticed the error and immediately called to report it. After clarifying the order and the issue, we were transferred three times by phone. Since we live too far away, another call would have been too inconvenient. We requested two replacement orders for the next order. This was rejected with the words: "You can eat the food you received!" 😖 Yes, really! You don't pay €40 for that, do you? We called to inform them that we no longer wanted to be their customers, and then they said: "Yeah, okay 🤷🏼‍♂️" and hung up. And that after many years of orders and recommendations! So, never again from MEIWEI! You are not valued as a customer here! Only the money is counted. Unfortunately, that's the impression we have after today, as our stay on site also affected this impression. By the way, the food was already cold after the phone call and definitely worthy of the trash! Thank you and never again!

A very nice and hidden restaurant in Bielefeld. It wouldn't usually win an award for cleanliness. Despite the delicious and authentic food, the owners lose their guests' patience with long wait times. Two areas, divided into a front inside area and a back outside area, offer plenty of privacy at the expense of accessibility, meaning you can catch the one waiter who's usually where you're not.

They accepted my requests without hesitation and executed them perfectly. It was my first time eating here, and I'll definitely be back!

Tough meat when complained about, new meat was offered after waiting for an hour nothing came even though the shop wasn't full?? I would say smoothly ignored! In the end, when asked, they stupidly said whether they still wanted the meat, even though the table was covered and the bill had already been paid 🤦‍♂️ Really work on your service and the portions given the price range! For me the store will never be history again!

One of the best Asian restaurants in Bielefeld, but the service and the lack of attention to complaints are abysmal. The waitress was more preoccupied with TikTok than with the guests. She didn't even ask if everything was okay. It's a shame, the service doesn't do the food justice.

We've been there several times, but now I have to say that the place is in need of a bit of renovation. Toilets are no longer up to date. And if you take a closer look. you can see in corners what doesn't have to be there. Have you ever taken a look into the kitchen? So that's good and tasty, but you also have to invest a little in renovation

This was our second time at this restaurant after our first experience a year ago was very satisfactory. Unfortunately we were disappointed this time. Although we arrived as a group of four, the food was served at different times which detracted from the experience. The taste of the food was okay, but nothing special. Overall it was not a satisfactory visit.

The food was really tasty, but when we ordered the ginger tea for €4 we were quite amazed. All we got was hot water with a few pieces of ginger - no lemon, no honey, nothing. €4 for something like that? How does this price justify itself?

It's 8:22 p.m. We've been sitting here since 7 p.m. and haven't had any food yet. Unfortunately I can't rate the food accordingly. The staff is clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests. Even if the food is great, I wouldn't come back. P.s.: food was average-good.

What a nightmare. First of all - the food was good (although very expensive - over €70 for two people with normal portions), so I can't say anything bad. But the general experience we had here yesterday was abnormal. We only stayed because it was my friend's birthday and we didn't want to let her down. The restaurant was packed. You can expect a full house on a Saturday when going out to eat, but I've never experienced anything like that - literally a small Ikea table was squeezed into every square meter in order to be able to cram as many customers as possible into the carelessly designed party tent hall - we sat like chickens on a perch, back to back with strangers. It was so loud that the people sitting next to me almost had to shout to communicate. Our tables were placed in the middle of the corridor in front of the door to the outside and the toilets (see photo), where the draft was so cold that we could hardly feel our legs and there was no talk of relaxation. We had reserved weeks in advance, for 7 p.m. When we arrived there were no tables reserved or available for us. At around 9 p.m. (!), after about two hours of waiting, some of which we had to spend standing on the sidewalk in front of the "restaurant", we finally got food. We had barely finished eating - a friend was still waiting for an order - when, in the middle of the conversation, the waitress took us by surprise and practically held the EC card reader in our faces, asking us to please pay now. Everything seemed incredibly hectic and at the same time haphazard, the waitresses were (understandably given the circumstances) completely stressed and annoyed. Here, profit maximization is clearly prioritized over any atmosphere, service or customer friendliness. Save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else.

Today we waited for three quarters of an hour for our reserved table before we finally left because no one could tell us how long we would have to wait. The sushi was always good, but the place is also rather uncomfortable and the service leaves a lot to be desired.

The food was outstanding! I haven't had any fish there yet, but the chicken dishes were delicious! Service absolutely good. Hot sauce and salt were served upon request. Only the ambience was too “modern” for me personally. It seems more like a sterile studio. It was very clean and tidy, but not Asian enough for my taste.

We were there as part of a Christmas party. We sat in the winter garden, which despite the patio heaters and blankets being set up, was quite cool and that was the reason why everyone left early. Service seemed stressed. Fortunately, the food was great and everyone enjoyed it very much. Price-performance ratio is also ok.

Solid and affordable Japanese restaurant with a hugh menu. The wine list is limited. The service is kind but getting glasses to the drinks some time. It has a patio for good weather. Reservation required. Kitchen closes at 9. They make their fresh noodles and everything is fresh.

Today we were at Meiwei with three couples for the first but definitely not the last time. In order to try out a lot of the menu, we ordered 10 starters for each course (divided into two courses) and 3 main courses for the third course. Very tasty, it convinced us. But we were particularly impressed by the tuna theriaki. 5 stars for that alone. Very attentive and friendly staff. We had a lot of fun.

The food there is very tasty, but I still wouldn't go there again. You get totally stressed when you order drinks and as soon as you take the last bite the waitress stands in front of you and collects the money without you even asking. We didn't see the point of leaving straight away and wanted to linger for a moment, then the waitress came again and said we should leave straight away, there were other guests waiting. It has to be said that we were not told beforehand that the table was limited. We had made a reservation and were not allowed to linger for a second longer than we had drunk or eaten. I told the waitress afterwards that we were totally stressed and could hardly enjoy the food. The reaction was no apology, just the statement: “It’s always like that with Meiwei”. So next time I'll go to a different sushi restaurant where the waitress doesn't take the money without asking and throw us out. The food was delicious, but for me personally it would only be available to pick up in the future.

Very good cuisine, both sushi and the other main dishes, e.g. B. the duck. Well prepared and way better than the to-go version of sushi in the supermarket. The good selection of drinks - both wine and specialties/spirits - also offers a few delicacies outside the mainstream. Tea was made with fresh mint. The ambience is reduced, but not uncomfortable, everything is quite harmonious. Since it is usually quite full, the acoustics are appropriate. So maybe not the best choice for a first date, but otherwise absolutely recommended.

I used to be a regular until the service started to decline over time. Yesterday I gave it another chance. Despite having a reservation, we waited at the door for 45 minutes. The food came quite quickly, but otherwise the service was very poor. The employees are very friendly, but it takes ages until someone comes to the table. Empty drinks. Cheap soy sauce (you should pay attention to little things like that when it comes to prices). Unfortunately, that's why I didn't give a tip. The atmosphere is great, very cozy and stylishly furnished. There is nothing special in terms of taste. Unfortunately this time it was the last visit for me.

So I've been eating at Meiwei for a long time. But I recently noticed for the first time that I have the feeling that Meiwei has slacked off a bit. It all seemed very careless and slapdash. It didn't taste fresh at all and didn't seem as clean as usual. I hope it was just a slip-up. I hope Mewei doesn't rest too much on her previous good reputation.

Unfortunately, the taste of the food today didn't impress me at all. Neither our sushi nor the noodles were tasty.

Had some sushi with my boys today. The ambience is kept very clean and appears well maintained. The waitress was stressed but that was understandable, but she still did her job very well. The quality of the food was bombeeee! First classic sushi and starters! Definitely worth a visit if you want something decent to eat and your wallet isn't too empty.

It's a shame, the food itself wasn't bad, except for the fact that my daughter had diarrhea after the sushi. But the taste was great. What unfortunately didn't work at all was the service: They were nice and friendly, but they couldn't be bothered to serve us at all and when you ordered something, for example a glass of wine, it took over half an hour and you ended up getting it yourself. The bowls for soy sauce for the sushi were also not brought. Too bad. In the end, two out of six people got their food more or less straight away and everyone else had to wait and then it happened little by little so eating together unfortunately didn't happen

The employees are very unfriendly. For the money you spend here you won't be treated nearly nice. The food tastes good but if there is a lack of friendliness then you just don't want to waste any money on it. Especially not considering the prices, a portion of pasta with chicken costs 15 euros. Noodles were more than meat, i have to pack it home, it tasted good but lacked the sauce somehow... so come to a point, it was quite bored.. My friends liked his Chicken-rice dish. So it was fine! Drinks : Maracuja-Minze and Mojito. Both were nice and refreshing! (Still the leaves were a little brown) The service woman was fast with coming and cleaning stuff away, but she didn't care so much to ask if we still needed anything. And she left also fast. Summary: Serviceable sushi underground service. A group of 8 people had been ordering for almost an hour now, 2 people received their dishes (warm) about 20 minutes ago and are ready. The rest is still waiting. The advice that it's not good if you wait so long and then the dishes come separately was answered with the advice that you don't have to come next time. We definitely won't be coming back

Underground! We were there with 8 people, 2 of whom received their food after about 20 minutes. The remaining 6 people only got their food after the first two were completely finished. To my comment that unfortunately that didn't go well, the waitress told us to just not come back. And neither will we!

You can get really tasty and authentic sushi here at fair prices! The lunch specials are definitely worth seeing and are reasonably priced. The sushi is freshly prepared and the service was very friendly and quick. I would definitely come back and try something else on the menu☺️

Although we had reserved at the front, we were offered a table at the back in the garden, which was very pleasant given the warmth today. It wasn't very crowded. The menu looked very promising and we quickly found something, including delicious homemade drinks. The food came quickly and the drinks were a bit slow. We chose 2 delicious dishes from the daily menu and one dish from the normal menu. Everything tasted excellent. I was thrilled 🤩. That wasn't my last visit with you. I used to go there at least once almost every week. The quality has decreased significantly in the last 2 years. I gave the store 3 more chances and was disappointed every time. The sushi falls completely apart every time and is no longer cut properly. It's just thrown in messily. You can't eat with chopsticks because everything falls apart. The sushi tastes like nothing, the salmon is also tasteless, the cucumbers are not fresh. For 4 portions you get a mini portion of ginger and wasabi (it used to always be in great portions!) and you also save a lot on the soy sauce and the sticks. That's really a pity! Today I had one last chance but €75 ended up in the trash because everything fell apart and in the end you just had a mess. On the phone they said “no one has complained today”. Dear Meiwei team, it's better to take fewer orders and make your food with love again!! Many of my friends don't come anymore because it just doesn't taste good!

Very good food with fresh ingredients and no glutamate. Varied and varied cuisine. I can definitely recommend the sushi and udon noodles, but I will continue to eat through the menu ;-)

The cook came to meet me in the toilet (Saturday April 27, 2024 at 3 p.m. Blue shirt on) without washing his hands. When I said that washing his hands was probably not necessary, he came back and washed his hands with WATER without soap. We lost everything then. Afterwards our food and glasses are touched. I have never experienced anything like it. The service sits around and smacks their lips, looks at their cell phones and eats themselves. The chewing noises and eating manners are the last thing. Completely unprofessional. The store just above the counter was full of trash and dirty dishes. The food wasn't good, sushi just tasted like fish (veggie). The noodles extremely like metal or pan. But really a strange aftertaste. Nice and loving service looks different.

Die Bedienung war wirklich unterirdisch. Meine Freundin hatte Gemüse, Reis und Hähnchen bestellt, ich Gemüse, Reis und zusätzlich Tofu. Letztendlich hatte meine Freundin auf ihrem Hähnchengericht meinen Tofu. Nachdem wir darauf hingewiesen haben, wurden wir dazu angehalten den Tofu einfach auf meinen Teller rüberzureichen…. Die Portion Reis würden wir auf 70 Gramm schätzen, für 17€ ist die Portionsgröße nicht gerechtfertigt. Das Essen war so salzig, sodass wir es nicht essen konnten. Nachdem wir auch darauf hingewiesen haben, hatten die Mitarbeiter lediglich 50% Nachlass erlassen. Wir kommen nicht wieder!

The service was really substandard. My girlfriend ordered vegetables, rice and chicken, I ordered vegetables, rice and also tofu. My friend ended up having my tofu on her chicken dish. After we pointed this out, we were encouraged to simply pass the tofu over to my plate... We would estimate the portion of rice to be 70 grams, but for €17 the portion size is not justified. The food was so salty that we couldn't eat it. After we pointed this out, the employees only gave away a 50% discount. We won't be coming back!
